I'm still really curious about the lack of orders on both the buy and sell side.

The Americans will get out of bed in 30 minutes and boot their Gox. Then we will know what they think!!!

You know they have 6 or 7 timezones depending of how you look at it?

almost 7 am in the mountain timezone (utah here...) so east coast is pushing 9 am. the west coast is on the creep to wakefulness.

Iwas just about to say"But only east/west shores and Chicago matters".... Wink Luckily I didn't

I'm still really curious about the lack of orders on both the buy and sell side.

Price discovery, right? No-one knows what the "true" price of a bitcoin is, and now people are especially unsure of it. In a rally, people wonder if maybe it's higher than they thought previously and so buy. In a crash, they wonder if maybe the folks selling know something about the "true" price and sell. Once the swings cease, we're left with a mexican standoff, with few willing to risk a strong position either way.

This is why we'll continue to see huge volatility for a long time to come, yet. Speculators amplify price movements, and with a low market cap still, their effect is quite pronounced.

Selling out to advertisers shows you respect neither yourself nor the rest of us.

are you trying to show here that mtgoxlive is lagging?

seems like you'd want all your different windows in btccharts to be equal in width? (i guess its not that important)

Lag is always a factor. However what I am doing apart from showing the present status of things is what the activity was 7hrs ago compared to how it is now.

Factors that may have moved the volume up 11k and how the a low volume sell can bring the price back to 16.5

Dead cat bounce

Nope, that was yesterday already..
That was it, I don't think it'll drop more.

Hey, I know a new game:
*everyone* posting here *has* to state his/her position!
This would show why some people write what they write.. ;-)

I have only about 200 BTC. My "strategy" is NO strategy - just sitting on them. I would have about 250 if I would follow this from the beginning Cheesy
