Remarkably quiet. Where do we go from here? Upwards? Still a possible weekend dip?..

In this situation, what would be the relevant indicators to make such prediction? (both ways). I've just started to learn a bit about the btc craziness. Btw... Thx for sharing your hints guys Wink

EDIT: Well, my ignorance is actually more about "trading" rather than btc indeed.
Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

yeah there's 11.8 million in bids and who knows how much off the wall.  As soon as these people realize that the weekend dip won't happen they'll be coming in.

And we have had an incredible increase in media attention during the last week, more than anyone could have predicted even two weeks ago. In my country, where the norm seems to be to ignore every technical innovation for at least 5 years before jumping on the train, bitcoin was in every newspaper and on every major talkshow. Though many from the "general public" are still like "oh we'll see", many new people will be coming in soon. It reminds me of the adoption of the PC, the internet, cell phones, MP3, P2P, Facebook, just 5 times faster. It's going to be epic.

...many from the "general public" are still like "oh we'll see", many new people will be coming in soon...

Exactly. A lot of people are asking, "Well, who accepts it right NOW?"

It's because of what it will be in 6 months, a year, 10 years that we are putting large sums of money into this.

Absolutely correct.
Branch of the organization, "Washington, DC" called "Russia" continues to follow orders the Board of Directors of the parent company in Washington.  Cool But as always - too late. It is the second most important central television in Russia, I think is also ~50 million viewers. http://www.ntv.ru/novosti/545876

rpietila will not like it.

rpietila is entertaining blasphemous thoughts in his little brain, about selling bitcoins to the strength and buying silver with the proceeds.

The great double-up from last month is looking too wonderful, maybe I double my amount of silver instead...

Blasphemy indeed! The bitcoin gods do not care however. Neither does the spaghetti monster (just talked to it, it says money is just a game played by humans, what really counts is karma).

Joke aside: it's possible this could be a good short-term deal. In the long run, however, I don't see silver outperforming bitcoin, even with a long-awaited disconnect from that childish paper game happening (and thus better price determination for silver becoming effective somehow).

Barring a global collapse of pretty much everything, I think rpietila is better off with bitcoin.

Hmmm... Halfway through the weekend, no dip, slight rise.

Epic week ahead!

The rocket keeps fueling. No considerable down movement so far, bids keep filling up above $140, BTCChina is back up to 950 CNY = 153 USD and the Gox hamsters have had a good night sleep.

Let me know when you guys are ready, so I can give the start signal for the rally.

Beautiful rising wedge. Just waiting for the Monday cash infusions to blast out of the tip (hopefully upwards!).

One just has to look at the charts to know when the rally is coming followed by instant sell-off of course.I'm thinking a new high of 165-170 followed by a retreat to under 160.

I have two hamsters, and let me tell you, these things are deadly at night. They run in the wheel all night long and the noise
drives me crazy as I am trying to get to sleep. And they sleep during the day!

Wouldn't serious bears also be waiting for the Monday cash infusion in order to have the depth and price to maximise return?  I think I'd personally be more comfortable with a high volume trade battle in the price region we've seen since Wednesday for another week or so to give a real chance for more weaker hands to get out thus decreasing the risk of the next downturn being too wild.

Yes. I had that dream too, but just as I was about to buy a load of bitcoins at $5, the Bernank opened the floodgates and my wheelbarrow of paper rectangles wasn't enough anymore...
