is mtgox live bugged?

its not loading the chart for me  Sad

Just tried it and it didn't load for me either.  But, I much prefer btccharts, so I don't really care much.

Bitcoin Fact: the price of bitcoin will not be greater than $70k for more than 25 consecutive days at any point in the rest of recorded human history.

The block chain is the main innovation of Bitcoin. It is the first distributed timestamping system.

Liquidate some of your bitcoins and buy one of these.

I do need to get a laptop for when I start back to school, but I don't know about a Mac.  I could put Linux on it, and the retina display would be nice, but after I was forced into an iPhone for a previous job (they decided they wanted an iPhone app half way through the project) I developed a strong distaste for everything Apple.  I suppose most of my complaints are with the poor software quality and lockdown/lockin policies though, so maybe it would be okay after I blow away OSX.

The transformer is very tempting for toting to class.... a bit small, but it's hard to beat 10 hours of battery for the price and weight.

There's a lot more resistance at $6 than what you see on the order book.  My guess is things are going to cool off for a few weeks (maybe even months), and the price will drift down.

right, the order to 6$ is about 15,000 BTC high, that's less then 1 days volume

in a week we'll see where we really stand. my guess sub 6$ will not hold for long.

A day's orders includes buys into the asks and sells into the bids, so it isn't as if if a days volume is greater than 15,000BTC then the price will push past $6.  Also, my point is that we see 15,000BTCs on the order book, but there are likely (and apparently, from observing the past day or so) lots of people with plenty of bitcoin on hand to sell in the current price range and into any standing bids people put up.  I think sub $6 is going to hold for longer than people think.  The price might poke through a time or to, as it did coming up to $5 (for the 3rd time), but it's not likely to last.  Not only do I think the odds are good this does happen, I hope it does.  I hope we sit around here for months, the rest of the year even.

Yes i understand that 15,000 BTC vol. dosnt mean we jump to 6  Cheesy.
most buying and selling happens on the front lines which are constantly being sold, bought, and replaced.
We can't use the walls to know how many bitcoins are on the sell side or buy side.
How many times will the sell orders of 5.9 be bought and replaced? no one knows

BUT!

say someone start DUMPING coins on a massive scale, we reach 0.50cents and the rebound starts, I would say anything under 4$ is gold!  and we are likely to rebound higher then the start price of the sell off.

Because bitcoin is a pyramid, but it is a fair pyramid because the guy at the top is a tyrant,  and right below him theirs 10 guys looking to take his place no matter what the cost  Wink

HA but that in your pipe and smoke it, lol

I don't think that there is any cooling off in the horizon. We're taking a breather now and volatility will continue soon. That's what I think, anyway. The chilling out period is over.

uh...guys

we just broke 5.95

This is not some pseudoeconomic post-modern Libertarian cult, it's an un-led, crowd-sourced mega startup organized around mutual self-interest where problems, whether of the theoretical or purely practical variety, are treated as temporary and, ultimately, solvable.
Censorship of e-gold was easy. Censorship of Bitcoin will be… entertaining.
