On, we're on track all right.

Bitcoin Fact: the price of bitcoin will not be greater than $70k for more than 25 consecutive days at any point in the rest of recorded human history.

as I predicted here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=89759.0

The bubble is over, expect another slouch to $3 and also expect the reward halving in dec to have no effect on the price.

I don't think this latest rise was strictly due to speculation. I would be very surprised if we fell below 6.25

any drop to 3 or thereabouts will be more or less short term, in my very likely poorly informed opinion. i can certainly see plenty of fluctiation for the rest of the year with the various activites in mining and the block reward halving expected. but i think that will all shake out by this time next year, give or take.

or, in other words: *sits back with popcorn*

i don't post much, but this space for rent.

As I said in the other thread, the "drop to $3" is not even a serious argument, it's trollish. The current rally is pretty much the most sound rally we've had ever. There is a real positive Bitcoin trend going on in regards to news and developments.

I'm kinda ruining it though. Being quiet is the most +ev move because there might be some idiots that dump because of a troll and give me cheaper coins. So in that sense saying anything is counter-productive.

6 is likely, 5.5 is possible, 3 will become possible if 5.5 falls.

Also, bit-pay was dumb enough to announce they have 50,000 BTC to sell over the next few days from BFL preorders.  Expect retreating bids.

BTC is not another currency it is a place that you can secure your net worth anonymously. Where else can this be done? Gold? Silver? I think not.

BTC value can spike up or down depending on simple factors, if it's going to be used in conjunction with fiat currencies to purchase goods/services.

What we are trying to do on this Forum is speculate on future events as news about them trickle in.

At the end of the day if someone wanted to secure their net worth in BTC the price fluctuation would just be further compounded by fellow speculators on the expected value of BTC

So just remember when everyone else is selling you should buy. And when everyone else is buying you should sell.

Now its up to each one of us to decide at what market volume is the best time to jump in.

OK, somebody just moved his/her bids worth ~ 15k BTC from the 5.95$-6.05$ range to the 6.2$-6.3$ range. Does anyone have screenshots?

The ask walls are gone again. Did anyone see it? (i missed it)

The ask wall is there to scare people into selling so the manipulator can accumulate before breaking $7.2. We're in an upward channel in a strong trend.

I'm not surprised anymore by how quickly the picture changes.  I'm sure lots of people are getting really anxious right now.  I don't think we're far from seeing an enormous bite taken out of the bids.  $6.80 is the new $7.20 is the new $32.00.  Maybe back into high $4s over the next 3-4 months and then $5.something becomes the new $6.80?

The trend is up.

Up 80 cents from $5.8 to $6.6, retraced 60 cents to ~$6.03. Then up ~80 cents from ~$6.03 to $6.8. Could retrace to $6.2?

Sellers are not anxious yet, you can see this in the lack of reaction to the ask walls (did not spark a sell-off, instead price hugged the ask wall at $6.7). Contrast that to how the market reacts when a bid wall goes up (panic buying, because trend is up). We've been here before, but that was coming off $2! This time we're coming off $5. It wasn't that long ago.. this time sellers won't get anxious until after $7.2 (or we stall in the $6's for weeks).

So $6.22 was the low? Pretty good call if I say so myself..

20k wall has gone!
rally time?
online ppl on btcchart is increasing

You can bet he'll be back with his 20kBTC, and if he's waiting to sell it for more, then he'll probably have to sell into the bids; and my guess is that when he does that he'll accept significant slippage on the downside because he's going to try to sell at a top.  Whatever price rises we're in store for, if any, are probably going to be nothing more than an illusion.

I told you people: we're in an uptrend. Volume hasn't even picked up yet, and when it does, we'll smash through $7.2.

In an uptrend. Told ya so.

The price moves left to right instead of up and down like I thought.
