Which Talkcoin is the real one?   Smiley

This is the original and real one  Wink

TALK2 fork thread: SWAP !!! ◥TALK◥25% PoS◣bitcointalk(💬) est✪2014★yr5✪ BTC💬

Last Release / Postings Oct 2019

I do not see a listing nor online block explorer.

I could not get this fork to work/sync.

My answer geared towards bitcoin based coins :-

Mobile staking depends on the client (wallet) type and this has three approaches, namely Normal Staking, SPV Staking and Offline Staking.

Normal staking

Normal staking as you already know requires running a full node, this means you have a computer that has a complete and up to date validated copy of the bockchain. It takes coins based on maturity from the wallet and attempts to create and sign a block , we call this a coinstake. There is a general misconception that a wallet needs to be online 24/7 in order to stake. this is false. All a wallet needs really is mature coins. So with a currency that has a 24 hour maturity or maturity dependent on block count, your wallet could be offline 99% of the time, you only start it around the time of maturity, sync with the chain, stake , wait for confirms then tuen it off. Rinse and repeat every maturity period.

To stake normally on a mobile device the fastest approach is to adapt the core wallet to work on mobile devices. This is something i have already achieved See below scren shot of my test case Bitcointalkcoin :-

Pros

This is by far the fastest way to get it done right now.
Developers need only maintain one codebase that is used across all platforms
Standardization is easier due to familiar controls
Developments, updates and upgrades in Bitcoin and PoS coins in general can easily be applied and deployed across all
The wallet can be used as a full node
In the case of coins with masternodes, you can have mobile masternodes

Cons

If the chain grows too large, syncing via mobile networks can become tedious.
the interface was originally designed for desktops and requires mobification to be usable on mobile (touch) devices. Especially so with small screen devices such as phones.

SPV Staking

SPV staking is something I have been working to develop and basically involves enabling clients (wallets) to stake without the need to have a complete copy of the blockchain.
Essentially clients would request the necessary data from existing full nodes on the chain. At the moment i am working on enabling SPV staking in the typical core wallet as well as a dedicated light wallet.

Pros
Faster sync times
Far lower data overhead

Cons

Requires trusting other nodes
Other than the staked blocks, does not add to network stability

Offline Staking

Offline staking is still conceptual and i am not yet sure how to secure the network in that scenario while maintaining complete decentralization.

So to summarize, mobile staking is already a reality from where i stand. The next step is just making it wide spread. The real goal for me now is reliable SPV staking.

If anyone has questions, feel free to ask.

It seems the new TALKcoin wallet stakes differently.  I usually keep my wallets on all the time and they keep stalking.  This one seems to stake a bunch when I first turn it on after seeing it not stake for a long time, or after a reboot, etc.  When I leave it on for a long time, it doesn't stake any more.  It may be that I don't have a lot of coins, around 9800.

Yes you'll have to wait longer because 9800 coins won't be bringing you rewards too often.

I thought this thread was quiet and wow it was!

 Roll Eyes

I mention this coin in a book on staking
http://telicalbooks.com/Staking_Book_RSPearson.html
If we can get people excited and pump the book it would therefore pump the price and bring more supporters.

I need proofreaders.

BTCtalkcoin wallet update v1.5.2.3! (non mandatory)
https://github.com/George55555/BTCtalkcoin/releases/tag/v1.5.2.3

First block   2014-04-20 15:29:23 (6 years and 50.8 days ago)
Stake TALK - WHY NOT?  Success is the fact that TALK has made it 6 years.
I will gladly stick with staking and trading TALK for another 2 years. Cool

The community vision for TALK [has been] is being proof of stake "club house".

The list of still up and running pos-chains needs to be updated, and TALK thread is a good hub to discover proof of stake metrics data/stats.

updated vision/roadmap 2020

1. Foster Cexchanges that specialize in the classic btc-code blockchains.  Also BLOCKnet  Wink
2. Node broadcaster resources list.
3. Trade p2p of staking coins that lack market placements.
4. Sponsor whitepapers/researchpapers on POS vs POW decentralized blockchains.  The long debate needs to be hammered down, and the evidence is clear after (years now).  POS is decentral friendly and scales, whereas POW block producing nodes consolidate.

Of two of those coins that look good above, Beancash and Litedoge are now only traded on Yobit, I believe.  You would think some small exchanges would look at the node data and list the coins

BeanCash is traded on BTCPop, Altmarkets and Unnamed Exchange.

Forget about Yobit. Those scammers turned off almost every wallet and probably will never turn them back on. Unless someone will find the owners and makes them Roll Eyes
I submitted like 5 tickets regarding TALK wallet to those MFs. Useless.

Thanks.  I was just checking off CMC but they often don't list the exchanges of smaller coins.

Noblecoin is back up and running with an active thread and new wallet, but no exchange.  Mintcoin is also doing well with about 3 exchanges.

LOL, Yobit keeps doing some weird stuff. Never seen them rename a coin ticker until now.
Lets see if they actually resync and enable the wallet. But I wouldn't count on that tbh.

Regarding BCC version2 @ 25% PoS, please just disregard that fork. The dev Blockchain Mechanic proved to be incompetent and not able to produce a stable working wallet.
So I switched back to running the original chain.

Would be nice if there was actually some leadership with this coin.  Glad that the wallet got upgraded but the coin could get on an exchange. Noblecoin got rebooted and Southexchange just put them on for free.  Seems like there is some comradery for old coins out there.

Compass [What is the function?].  Give Direction [via true North].  point the way.  Lead-er for ships.
Here's the nut of truth.  You said it Wink

comradery for old coins 1. I call them the bitcoin coded coins  2. most all 5-7 years old

Let TALK be the gathering node comrade!  Smiley

Again the focus is on POS chains.  There are a solid dozen they have survived over the years and at this date and time have better p2p (nodes count) matrix than BTC, ETH, and other BILLION$ projects.  Thus, by "paying attention" and tracking these projects one may "profit".  TALK is not (yet) in this class.  But the point is to identify the other POS projects that are solid yet undervalued.  Personally that is what I like to do, and hint I will trade those coins for TALK from time to time OTC. Wink

However, I also posit that there are a handful of POW projects that have held on over the years and worthy of tracking.

Last but worthy, pay attention to the platforms (EOS steem LBRY et cetra.) that warrant study.

In terms of TALK chain.  It has not had a dev since 2014.  Yet it works by grassroot bootstrap support.  That is remarkable.  Elegant.  I would suggest there is no need for "dev", but in the future stake holders of TALK could benefit on spinoff equity.  How?

TALK is a basecamp, where talent may gather.

Is there an explorer active for Talk currently, I noticed it is no longer on chainz?
I am also interested in a recent snapshot.  Doing some testing of our Pandacoin Coinbin web wallet for many coins and would like to support Talk fully.

Our web wallet is shaping up to be a friendly yet powerful and secure multicoin non custodial wallet, where only you control your private keys! Our Pandacoin Coinbin open source browser based wallet, for Pandacoin and many other cryptocurrencies is developing and we have added Talk as well as many other coins.

Please check it out.  We have added basic support for all Chainz supported coins as well as many others, the main home page is https://cryptodepot.org/coinbin/#home       for Talk use https://cryptodepot.org/coinbin/?c=talk#wallet   (still in test/development atm)

To test using a Pandacoin giftwallet:

Anyone want some Pandacoin ? You must act quickly as the first user to spend them wins!

You can now quickly and easily configure the other coins by selecting one here https://cryptodepot.org/coinbin/#allcoins using the allcoins menu option.

Mine Bitcoin on an Older Computer by Staking

One of the keynote points!  Using old/cheap cpu equipment to mine stake.
Even you just want to accrue stacking sats.  One can still round about mine BTC.

I would suggest getting a steem account and cross publish there too.
Also if anyone is interested there is a reddit/r/bitcointalkcoin? to help webcrawlers index anything published any where.

good stuff there!

I am not sure about SEO stuffs.  But would like to revert back to the original URL.
[since coinmarketcap links there / and its just a deadlink atm]
I asked them to keep both.  Just redirect chainz.cryptoid.info/talk-old/ to chainz.cryptoid.info/talk/

Also, any project that can maintain presents on chainz.cryptoid is worthy of tracking Wink
My opinion is that coinmarketcap lacks chain health data, chainz provides a much better index monitor.
Plus,
https://cryptodepot.org/
uses it to broadcast TX
aka webwallet layer
very nice!

TALK has lost tracking status on CMC, bummer, if there is a means to update once TALK has an API market again it likely would be tracked again.

That said CMC is nearly pure bunk, finding long surviving blockchains is nearly impossible for the noobs.  And CMC is now owned by the tentacles of Binance.   Sad  And more importantly has no open line of responsive communication.

-MEMO-
Revision Roadmap:

1.  uniting long surviving blockchains, starting foremost with POS, but also would like to add a division of POW chains, and perhaps a token/platform board too.

2.  monitor and liaison board for exchanges that support long surviving blockchains.

3.  tech teams to help build support utilities [nodes, block status, repos, client updates/repos]
funding grants

4.  marketing resources
funding grants

5.  market data platform
funding grants

6. monitor TALK threads specifical for long surviving blockchains
TALK coin subsidy / rewards

7.  MEGA umbrella foundation for ALTS specifically for long surviving blockchains, but also new green shoot secondary tier fintech... aka common man non-corporate attainable VC.  TALK is the acorn, MEGA to become the greater oak tree.

8.  WOT, web of trustees, holders of the purse and executors of TRUST
