what are the benefits from hold VTR? I like the concept but I can not link the success of the project with the price of VTR, someone could clarify it?  |

The riot chat feature looks cool enough- but how exactly is the torrent feature in VTR supposed to work?
Think uTorrent meets Monero, they get married and end up living together. That get's you on to the first page. Then add Anon Social Network (Riot) Then add basic chat (one off deals and transactions) Then add MultiSig (Monero can't do that yet) Then add 2FA to protect your wallet if you leave it open all the time Then add Tor and I2P support Then add classifieds market Then add mobile support That gets you to the same page as our expectations for the project over 2017. So, can you use this to get torrents yet? Looks like the pirate bay has been hijacked ... All top seeds are Viruses and somehow getting fake seeds listings

I try to order by seeds they are "Uploaded today" with top seeds by the same users for each category, download & virus will pwn your pc

Good Question! I am watching this closely because it is one of the killer apps out there, but there seems to be no real roadmap or measurable progress here. If the dev only pops up every two weeks- does he do so at least reliably? And what about the closed source part? I haven't had time to go through the open source part of the code to find what is missing- can anyone maybe post some info on how those two parts relate to another? Thanks! |

The closed source part is the 2FA security feature. vTorrent is the only crypto project that has this feature. Given that torrents can sometimes be linked with malware, it's good to know your coins will be safe with a password and the 2FA. To stake you can open the wallet using a password and still keep secure with 2FA. Technically the devs can keep the 2FA part closed source if they release a wallet build without it. It's not needed to operate the client. They did say they would consider open sourcing the 2FA part when the project was ready enough and established enough to escape the copy cats that will come and claim they did everything first. I have seen image snippets of a seed ratio running off the client. You only get a ratio calculation if you are uploading and downloading torrents.
