Cheers Bitmain! Thanks for making the Antminer so easy to work with.
That's the beauty of APIs Makes it so easy for systems to talk to each other. Some ASIC manufactures have customized the default cgminer API. Makes it really difficult to manage a code base with exceptions everywhere to handle those API changes. Here goes the endorsement I use cryptoglance - Works with a lot of pools and miners looks good (computer free and cell app-Cell app cost 99C thru the store well worth it) - It is fully supported by user cryptoglance. You have a problem you wont have one for long if you let them know.
Thanks vabchgent!

So looking back at all the Bitmain releases in the past. It seems if you have free or cheap electricity the only miner that would of got ROI and made you some profit is the Antminer S1.
The S2 / S3 would of been getting barely ROI right at the moment.
The S4 / S5 not even close.
This is assuming one pays retail.
dont know how you did your math, but my 2 s3s that i paid 1.36 btc for have nearly made 4btc. sounds like a profit to me. on top of that, those s3s have a few months left on them.. probably another 1.5btc. they also funded the purchase of s5.. free of charge to me. That seems unlikely. Even if you ran them at 500GH/s@400W and started mining with 1TH/s on August 1st, with no pool fees and 100% luck you'd only be at 3.34BTC returned. If you don't pay for power you've made a decent bit of coin, but if you actually have to pay an average rate for the 4400kWh you'd use that would eat up a whole lot of that profit. I'm sure you've still hit breakeven unless you're paying >$0.20/kWh and are now in the profit, but for most people it's still pretty marginal.

There's a time and place for everything. I feel as a representative of a business you should not be using them. I own a small online store.
I own a small business too. I infrequently use emoticons in my business emails. I hate the written word because it's difficult to tell the intent and emotion of the writer. I don't feel that emoticons should be a taboo for business emails. They should be used sparingly. I must have the right balance, having just celebrated 15 years in business. I never had a client complain, yet. Having said that, I think sidehack already said it perfectly: But when your entire reply to a valid question a paying customer has about the machines he purchased is a series of emoticons, there's room to complain. It's basically dismissing the question offhand (and in a manner which could be seen as condescending), which is rude.
Bitmain reps here, do need help in the appropriate use of emoticons. Exactly the attitude that makes BTC appear supremely suspect as a medium of commerce. The recipient clearly has no responsibility to provide equitable value!
Whether the exchange is in Bitcoin or something else, whether transacted online or on mainstreet, it's all the same - you can get scammed or have a bad experience. more than once I've recieved a less than proper amount of cash back at a mainstreet (KFC) business. It's a matter of knowing the rules of the transaction - the means of value exchange (BTC, USD, IQD, Euro, etc) has nothing to do with the transaction. Have a problem with rules? Then that's a different discussion. Guess I was wrong Dogie, you are purely a lackey of Bitmain!
You barked up the tree with Dogie on this one. I'm grateful for his, and everyone's good help here. I'll also speak up with him or others when they are wrong. A bunch of grown men (hopefully) talking about the use of emoticons. Please, can we just stop this and get back on track. I'm not saying this of offend anyone, but if you want to talk about emoticons I'm sure there is a whole forum somewhere dedicated to them.

I tried Cryptoglance and it looks pretty nice. Although since the graphics are so large you can't get that much on the screen at once. If you had a few rigs, then it would fit. But if you had over 10-15, where would they all fit....besides just scrolling up and down all the time.
Also, how many temp sensors does the S5 have? Crypto indicates there are three (3) temperatures, and they all are different.
And what is your reject rate? I read someone had high reject rates. What would be the normal range or percentage of rejects?

Interesting. I went to buy an S5. Delayed a bit and had to try again. Price went up in terms of Bitcoins as the value was dropping. So, I quickly sent the increased BTC amount from Coinbase and it shows completed. But, on the Bitmain website the purchase shows expired!
The order shows created at 2015-03-18 17:55:10.0 on Bitmain. Coinbase shows completed at March 18, 2015 13:57 EDT.
I believe I made the purchase within a couple of minutes of observing the increased price.
And I've already bought the power supplies.
Anyone had any experience getting a btc refund from Bitmain? These aren't shipping until March 30 and I expect Bitcoin to take a spring rise - on the other hand buying now and knowing the sale when thru would allow timely preparation.
Don't worry, the site's status isn't updating properly, even when your order is fine. Everything is normal, nothing to worry about.

Okay, it must just be things running slow at Bitmain. At 1:55 PM Bitmain sent this: BITMAIN Order Detail Order ID: 00120150318175510183hkOnq6SO06CD Date: 2015-03-18 17:55:10 Total: 1.564 BTC Payment method: Bitcoin Payment You must make a payment within 1 hour, or your order will be cancelled So, since my Coinbase payment is timestamped 13:57, I should be good.

I lost out on ROI, asked for compensation, was send 20 mBTC, some stickers and a t-shirt.
How many BTC were you able to mine with the stickers and t-shirt ? Everybody knows SHA256 is t-shirt and sticker resistant. [ANN] Launching new high tech coin: TShirtAndStickerCoin. Find it on the exchanges: XTSSC! Mining hardware sold exclusively by Bitmain. What no foam pitchforks or a mug? The reality though is they do try. It sucks when they get it horribly wrong. Here is hoping they can make up for that.

Dogie, I read your setup page of the S5 and this is a quote from that setup guide:
"What temperatures should I aim for? - Try and achieve <50 for best hash rates, and <60 for long lifetimes. Temperatures should not be let to rise above 80C."
This confuses me. Even the stock fan at pretty low ambient temps can't keep the S5 less than 50c. How would one even obtain <50c? Then I saw in another post you wrote that running the S5 24/7 at 65c is just fine and would be no problem. Can we get a confirmation from BitmainWarranty on the optimal running temps of the S5? There must be three temp sensors onboard, since CryptoGlance reports three different temp readings. I just want to make sure we all know the operating range of temps of this unit when so many have been reported.
Thanks!

Now we need two things: 290+ USD exchange ratio and some news about next generation of Bitmain equipment...

Now we need two things: 290+ USD exchange ratio and some news about next generation of Bitmain equipment... May be $340 but it also is BTC 1.34 ..... when it was first returned, $320 equated to around BTC 1.12, so bitmain have rightly adjusted the price in BTC (or is that pegging their rig pricing on BTC rather than US $ ?)

or is that pegging their rig pricing on BTC rather than US $ They price in USD. You can see the BTC amount vary over time with the USD amount staying the same (except for when they adjust that because reasons).
