It's just something I came across, thought
I'd pass it on, lay it out on the table.
I have no vested interest in it
As always, Buyer beware , definitely

I'm trying to bridge the gap between holding
An ounce of bullion in your hand and owning a unit of CBX
It seemed kinda-sorta similar
1 idea leads to another

Make sure you back up your wallet regularly! Unlike a bank account, nobody can help you if you lose access to your BTC.

Hello Bullionaires!

We have a couple of updates to share with the community.

1.   The CryptoBullion forum is now open! Please come by, register and say hello. We are pretty bare bones at the moment but we will be adding content as we go. Ideally this will be a community project where we build this thing together so join in, take ownership and get involved. Suggestions and constructive criticism are encouraged.

2.   The turnout to vote CBX onto Bter has been nothing short of extraordinary. In a very short period of time, the community has taken CBX from zero votes to where it is now in 3rd place with over 28,000 votes! We still have a way to go to get to 1st place but it is just a matter of time now and at this rate, the time will go quickly. Thank you for the support, lets finish this run strong and get CBX available for out Chinese community members.

3.   The Proof-of-Value project is being further refined behind the scenes and will continue to evolve and grow. If you haven’t tried backing some of your CBX with your precious metals, give it a go. We will continue to gain traction with this project and as we grow, it will prove to be a major addition to the overall market cap of CBX.

4.   Finally, development work continues on the announced PoSP project. We have internally discussed some options to coincide with the fork that could assist with project and development funding going forward. Look for a posting soon to get some community interactive discussion going on this possibility.

That’s it for now, as always, thank you for the support!

I should be able to post something for this soon. Elambert is referring to an idea we've been discussing in relation to using previously unclaimed (historical) PoS rewards to fund Crypto Bullion development projects. We feel this could be very beneficial for CBX and the community if this is done sensibility and openly.

AhmedBodi

Thank you for the vote, it is appreciated, but we will be removing PoW. Pardon my bluntness, but is wasteful, facilitates centralization and frankly will never be as secure as PoSP.

1) Not wasteful. It is the ONLY algorithm which facilititates a fair distribution of coins
2) Also isnt centralised when changes are made to force such
3) Is as secure as anything else

Sorry but removing POW imo will just make CBX another fad shitcoin. Sad to see a good coin become such

Ahmed
1) Good point, however, we have long ago completed the distribution stage.
2) What changes do you propose to avoid centralization from mining farms and pools?
3) This is dependent on applied hashrate. As far as CBX is concerned, PoSP will encourage far more security via active staking than PoW.

BTW, Ahmed - blast from the past! Haven't seen your name in years. What are you up to nowadays??

Things like merged mining reduces the wastefulness of it, To prevent centralization things like ziftr's proof of knowledge could be forced so a person has to run a full node. Especially since POS coins require the miner to sign with their own key its even easier to force it than with POW only coins.
I'm mainly busy with my pool, betarigs and on occasion a number of other coins i help out with. Its nice to see CGB still doing well after all this time.

Hello all,

I just wanted to post a little development update Smiley

We've had some internal discussions relating to release schedules and have decided to prepare an intermediate release, to be released before the PoSP changes. This small update will contain the IRC chat functionality, new and updated translation sets (including Chinese) and a small tweak to avoid a false positive with VirusTotal for the IRC code. We feel that these changes are worth pushing out early as they will help as in our efforts to break into the Chinese markets. The majority of this work is already done (save for a few small IRC chatwindow bugs), so the release should be ready very soon (in a week or so hopefully). This wallet will not have any network changes, so there won't be a fork until we roll out stage 1 of the PoSP changes.

I'll keep you posted as we release approaches. Thanks everyone!

cheers,

raizor
