Is this something the community could get behind?

http://www.btc38.com/trade/vote_for_trade_en.html

BTC38 is a major Chinese alt trading platform. Guess the first step is to get CBX listed for voting...

Anyone trade there?

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

We have a couple of projects that need assistance. If anyone from the community is interested and has the necessary skill set, please reach out to me. Pay will be in CBX and to be discussed.

1. Logo redesign project - Looking for someone to help recreate our CBX logo. This could be a permanent position on the core team as work of this type is always needed (banners, splash screen, etc)

2. Promotional Video Creator - Looking for someone able to create some educational/promotional videos for CBX. The first one would be a video to explain PoSP.

3. Website design - It is time we start work on redesigning the website with a fresh new look and to better organize our wealth of information.

Also, volunteers are always needed so if you have a particular skill set and want to assist with CBX, please reach out and let us know what your skills are and how you envision improving CBX. I am happy to award bounties.

Sigh. I am stretched rather thin, and just a pensioner. Will work on the P2P thing, and slowly build my stock of CBX.

'China but let's not forget Japan.' [ http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/monacoin ? ]

Nice, Lab Rat Hoax, niiiice!

EDIT: CBX at 298 on Coinmarketcap -- low volume. P2P gotta always be secondary to exchange-trading in such a situation. I gonna go this second and try to manage a little volume.

Are you saying that if all things remained the same, you would get about 12% interest payment for the year through PoSP (based on January's return)Huh

That is fantastic!

What is your secret if you don't mind sharing? Are you splitting between multiple batches of aged coins? Your keeping your Vault running all the time I assume?

Congrats!

New Vault v2.3.2 is available now at the cryptobullion.io website.

http://cryptobullion.io/storage-use/

Including:
- Fixing issue about peer discovery
- Adding new threshold rule: it will combine inputs in order to make a stake of <= 500 CBX if needed, if the input is higher than 1k CBX it will be split

Enjoy!

Yes, P2P in principle; but perhaps best to get volume on exchanges 'til we get back from the low-volume section.

Altcoin-cap-to-Btc-cap has snuck up to 12.5% -- slowly going in the right direction.

@Alex4J - You have certainly done a good job with streamlining the CBX wallet, implementing PoSP and optimizing the CBX code base.   Cool

Moving forward with Proof-of-Value Network / Proof-of-CBX certification project.

Noting the existing work by Bitnation and MrChrisJ on GitHub with regards to "... citizenship with private passport services using available cryptographic tools", which could provide and interesting project to fork from.

Essentially implementing a 'decentralised' Blockchain notary service, say similar to CryptoGraffiti - http://www.cryptograffiti.info/ - which is perhaps something worth considering.

Gradually finding the time to do a full write up on this, which is probably best presented on the CBX forum itself. Then the CBX community can hopefully start to pool our expertise and build something which is really easy to participate in.

I think I finally get it, correct me if I'm wrong BitcoinFX.

This isn't an offer of sale or exchange for bullion.
This isn't an offer of exchange for the bitcoin or fiat value of the backing.
This needn't be a permanent or a long term backing.

This is a perpetually, ever changing average price discovery, based on the mindset of those participating in POV.

So basically it is a way of determining the perceived value of CBX, through the collective mind of the POV network as a whole.

This is cool  Cool

You got it. 100% correct. Mindset and of course the actual physical value of the precious metal (bullion) 'backing' the collective CBX Proof-of-Value network certifications.

Indeed no one is buying or selling anything, just simply representing combined 'value' for two things that they already own i.e. CBX and physical bullion, as a blockchain based 'smart' contract with one's self.

This collective action can be described as a 'shield and spear' paradox of value - https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Irresistible_force_paradox

It is "what happens when an unstoppable force (CBX / Blockchain) meets an immovable object (Physical Bullion)?"

The collective backing is not only representative value, but is also actual value i.e. 'worth'.

As with crypto-currency, said value remains the property of the owner, yet the representative value is distributed and decentralized.

If you don't hold it in your hand, you don't own it.

This is the exact opposite to all 'debt based money' (collateralized debt obligation), it is collateralized asset certification and can also be used this way i.e. to demonstrate that you are 'good' for a loan or to show that a business has 'real' capital / backing. For example, a bullion retailer could also use this as proof of stock or reserve.

Perhaps most importantly, the rehypothecation of bullion, becomes increasingly difficult or is made to be almost impossible with a true POV network. In fact, it is likely to render the old system (paper gold / markets) entirely obsolete, as they would become completely 'untrusted'.
