Well I suspect that somebody has a GPU miner active . one user has 40 MH/s on suprnova . Which to be honest 16 core = 650 kh/sec so lets see it needs around 80 cpu's with 16 cores. Makes sense ? Neah ... I am 80% sure that it's using GPU...

Ok fine with Xeon Phi would make it around 1.2 MH'ses so still it needs 40 of them .

I am using  2xXeon E5-2670 = 16 cores and gets me 650 kh/sec. So I guess Xeon Phi after some quick google research could do double .

Really ?
So buy some old Athlon II x4, my 630 give me 320+khs Smiley

EDIT : suprnova is dead Huh

I got it somebody working @ CERN | Accelerating science is throwing all the hashrate  Cheesy. The fact is with a C++ and CUDA or OpenCL coding knowledge could easily overwite the code from let's say spreadcoin ccminer witch is based on X11 and cpuminer similar to this coin. But those two miners were obviously so excited that they brag about rewriting the miner and now they call themselfs a "liars". Lesson learned, next time if u have an advantage be quitet, don't brag about it and enjoy it while it lasts   Wink

For sure they can be easly rewrited . And kept somehow secret by why didnt use private pools ? Oh I forgot bragging . Meh I knew it will last a little....well few more days and the show it's over. A mega dump will follow for sure. And when people wonder who is dumping 1BTC of Ziftr per day you can look into pools it's easy to guess.

True enough, BUT ZiftrCoin's whole value proposition is it gives you *up to 5% off select transactions using their plug-in*
That means people gots to shop!!! People love coupons!!!

Merchant adoption and integration is the next big thing we're working on (ziftrPAY and ziftrSHOP). We hope to start making announcements over the next few months and expect full on functional integration with many of the merchants around Q4 of this year (for when we do the big give away). It's also worth noting that this won't be using a plug-in; it will be direct shopping cart integration. It also won't just be for ZiftrCoin, but will work with Bitcoin and any other alt with enough volume.

ps: go ahead overwrite spreadcoin  Grin (and no, this algo isn't similar to x11 or then all algos are similar to x11)

Fine then explain 40Mh/s from a single user .  Xeon Phi idea won't work .

Shocked yup wasted  Grin

anyway... there are cpu farms, vps, aws instance, rentals and so on...
not everybody is running only with their cpu's laptop, so even though their could be a few gpu's, the large part of the hashrate is still from cpu's. Few days ago there was a cpu guys (so he said) running 100MH/s and ddosing suprnova at the same time.

No matter where you go (gpu, cpu, xeon phi  if anyone developped the code for, fpga, asic) there are always a larger fish.

I don't kill coin, I release miners (which hasn't been released btw... and won't be released until ziftrcoin team do so)
My quick and dirty code gets 1.66MH/s on R280x. Could you tell what is the speed of yours?
I get 4.5MH/s on gtx980 2.5MH/s on gtx750ti and 1.3MH/s on 750ti

For what it's worth, we're aware of the miners with such large amounts of hashing power on the pools. It's likely that they're using GPUs, but we aren't fully convinced of that yet. We saw some users (who we know were just using CPUs) throw 140 MH/s at the network for a short time period last week. I also know my Intel i5 4670k (which is over a year old at this point) can get about 400kH/s. It's not out of line to think that there are users with 100 of those under their control. For example an IT guy at any local community college (where network security would be lax) with CAD and other engineering programs can probably muster that.

What it really comes down to for us is a balance of the total hashrate of the network and its distribution. There are ALWAYS going to be "whales" on a network. Now it's because they either have their own custom mining software or unrestricted access to many CPUs. When we "open the gates" it will be those with large GPU farms or cheap electricity. We don't like that there is a single user with so much power, but other than that the network is fairly well distributed and CPU mining is still very viable. We're already getting many new people into crypto (more than we expected at this point), which is good for all coins. That will go away when the coin becomes GPU only.

Since it's easy I'm guessing you've coded a GPU miner, would you be so kind as to share it with the rest of us? I'd write one, but for some reason I don't find it easy. Since it's "easy" for you then it's only fair if you figure it out and do all the work and give it to me...otherwise it's unfair and scam

djm34 bothered to write a miner for Ziftrcoin and decided to not release it to the public. smolen bothered to write a miner for Ziftrcoin and decided to not release it to the public. What else needs to be explained?

Of course I gave you bad advice. Good one is way out of your price range.

I know for a fact that there are at least 3 GPU miners out there and I know that the Dev and a couple other coders who have made GPU miners for Sup coin and  Vanillacoin are more than capable of making a GPU miner for Ziftr, and based on hashrates, have already done it.  At this point there is no reason for Dev to not release the GPU miner, unless his goal is to have 3 people having all the coins.

Would u be so kind and explain this conversation to me or u were talking about some other coin maybe?

I don't kill coin, I release miners (which hasn't been released btw... and won't be released until ziftrcoin team do so)
My quick and dirty code gets 1.66MH/s on R280x. Could you tell what is the speed of yours?
I get 4.5MH/s on gtx980 2.5MH/s on gtx750ti and 1.3MH/s on 750ti
djm34 bothered to write a miner for Ziftrcoin and decided to not release it to the public. smolen bothered to write a miner for Ziftrcoin and decided to not release it to the public. What else needs to be explained?

Well, obviously that makes you both terrible people. You should have put hours of hard work into it and released it for free to us so we can all get rich. Writing a miner is a little bit harder than writing a legible forum post so I could never do it.... Do if for us now!!!! BTW I hate you people like you, ruining these coins with your gpu miners.... But I also want that miner so I can get rich. /s

Keep doing as you do. Since you wrote it feel free to mine away and either release if/when you wish, maybe even sell it hard coded to someones address.

They may have "all the coins" in the short term but the distribution is modeled to ramp up the block reward over time by which time plenty of gpu miners will have been released unlike most other coins in which the initial advantage is critical

Jokes, hints, sarcasm... With all the open source mining code around here writing simple GPU miner is matter of days for any programmer even without past experience with cryptocurrencies. Writing good miner is hard, but merely outperforming CPU for this particular algorithm is easy.

Of course I gave you bad advice. Good one is way out of your price range.

It was said from the start, that the gpu miner would release a few weeks after launch.
and as far as I know the official dev for the amd miner is trying to optimize his version and the cuda version was bought by the ziftrcoin so that everyone will be able to gpu mine when the gpu mining will officially start.

And stop being jealous of a few dev finding blocks, usually we aren't those who have hundreeds of gpu.
And again why do you find so wrong in rewarding the effort we put into developing those miners ?

Don't worry your turn will come...
