I think it was scam

All sites have downtime. Don't you think it is way too soon to draw your conclusion when Dadice was down for just a day or two?
My speculation is that one of their sockpuppet accounts predicted that they would reach their goal on a certain date based on their projections, then for some reason more rolls were done more quickly then predicted, so to prevent someone other then their sockpuppet from winning the contest, they took their site offline in order to delay the contest from being won long enough so their sockpuppet will win.

And why you always think of the negatives? Cant you pls stay away scaring people of this kind of shit if you dont have proof to back up your accusation

DaDice has a history of acting very sketchy. When they were asked to provide a cold storage address to prove they actually owned the bitcoin they claimed to own in order to back their bankroll, instead of showing their cold storage addresses, they lied about closing the investment feature to investors (the lying is in itself very shady/untrustworthy behavior). Then while they had their investment feature hiddenly open, they were very shady in how they were handling investor money.

They have a history of acting dishonestly, so I don't see why their giveaways/contests would be any different.

Roll Eyes Now gotta react to this QS nonsense again. Firstly see this post
No idea here turning up blank for me as well, maybe servers went down.

We are currently looking into the issue.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

too bad for the users who predicted today's date for the 750mth roll Sad

No worries here. We will deduct the hours of downtime, to make it fair for our predictors. Same for the 750 millionth roll bounty reward.

Thanks admin to hear this sounds more fair so there is hope for my prize there and that issue will get resolved soon and will be back soon, i will try my luck to get the lucky roll there. Grin
Even the predictor says its fair, and as dadice decreases the hours of downtime from the time the 750mill roll happens, I don't see any reason to say dadice is being unfair here.As for your investor argument, the investments are private, so it depends on the investors whether thy want to take the risk or not, like PD(which also doesn't provide cold wallet, but does have private investors), just because they do show the stats of who invests and how much doesn't mean the investments are sketchily-public. And they haven't lied anything to the investors, I don't think any investor wanting to invest in the bankroll hasn't taken the "discomfort" of actually searching for the stuff, and finding that they actually do not provide the cold storage, but still they do invest and hence they know the risk of it.And what about this "shady in handling the investors money", care to explain more about what they have done? (Second) lastly, their giveaways have always been fair, and if you don't believe it to be, you must not believe anyone here on bcttalk, as they are the ones who predict which date the roll will hit, and the thread is not self-moderated or anything so anyone is welcome to post any date (in their prediction bounties) for the bounty, and don't tell me something like "oh but they have the shill account post a date, then they manage to make fake rolls and hit the roll on the exact date the shill had made", thats just BS(Like QS).
And now lastly , stop making posts against dadice just to increase your post count thru different account, for the sig. camp, we all know the situation with tsp and how nearly everyone is against your decision of giving neg. trust unfairly and thru diff. account.
SO JUST STOP MAKING ACCUSATIONS IF YOU DONT HAVE ANY PROOF. Thank you Smiley .
Over and out!
P.S: All the readers except QS sorry for the big block of text(unformatted too xD)

That's not the problem.
Even if it were, they communicated these downtimes will be deducted from the date of the roll, so what would be the point of trying to influence the roll date if you in fact are not abled to?
The problem is most certain site related and not initiated from outside.

We are evaluating the reason of the re-occurring downtime issues with assistance from external specialists and the support engineers of our hosting provider.

As mentioned earlier all downtime will be deducted to keep our prediction date competition and the bounty for the 750 millionth roll fair and transparent.

I may be skeptical about this but if the downtime was actually not caused by DaDice then there are outsiders that tried to make the site down. The reason could be that to hit the 750 millionth bounty, by causing the site to go down then it will force people to leave the site temporary which means that once the site is up again then the person would have higher chance to hit the 750 millionth bounty as the number of people rolling will be slightly lower than usual

P.S : this is just a skeptical thought of mine though Im not accusing any party about this ( I mean no harm whatsoever  Wink )

P.S 2 : wasnt that the same thing happened before? something about the site down or the roll getting slower when the site almost hit 500 millionth roll

It seems there is an issue before when the site is approaching the 500 millionth roll ( references below ). Im not literally sure about the references though as there are only two user that reported that , would be nice if someone could clarify about this ( or that if the two quoted user could clarify more about this ) . Again Im not accusing things, just stating my skeptical opinion though  Wink Cheers

References :

Who have won che bet 500.000.000 ? My autobets stopped whitout motiv to bet 499,900,000

I also got the same problem when it reached to near the 500M roll my auto bot stopped working at the same moment, @romag won that bounty but it looks weird when it stopped working suddenly.

-snip-

Everyone are free to put their opinion in a non moderated thread though including QS so yeah there is no point to be "angry" Cheesy

Well I was talking about downtime earlier. The issue before the 500 millionth roll was connectivity issue.

is that because of too much people connecting to your website for the milestone hit? i guess you are getting popular if you are breaking down because of player count

Update regarding downtime:

After our second, at first unexplainable downtime, within two days, we'd like to share some findings with the community:

1. After accessing our server following the website went down yesterday evening, internal alarms were raised when the checksum of some critical files didn't add up.

2. There was a hacking attempt and the hacker edited the admin area authentication logic of the login script, in order to be able to bypass authentication requirements.

3. It seems to us, that this is clearly an inside job, as nobody else except our host has the main root password.

4. We analyzed the logs and we were able to trace the hacking attempts, but we couldn't stop it from repeating.

5. To fix this we have encoded all files on server and changed our root password, and informed our hosting provider if this happens one more time, we have to move away.

6. We are now waiting for them to conclude their investigations.

We just cannot put the site back online until we are sure that this threat has been taken care of. This is in the interest of all our players and stakeholders.

Can you yet share information about how deep the attacker got access?
Can you confirm all funds are safe/will be returned to investors?
Thanks for the update though, looking foreward to the 750 Million once there are alle issues dealt with.

Huh You are sure that your hosting provider is behind the hacking attempts but you are staying with your hosting provider?

If there is any significant evidence that your hosting provider is attempting to hack your site then the only prudent course of action would be to move to a different hosting provider. Period. To even consider anything other then this is just gross incompetence.
