Wow, I gotta say the price on Havelock really is recovering hard. But I believe it will go back at some point, if only for a bit. But until we actually see dividends, a lot of people will remain only half-in, I guess

nah that's deadline boiling pressure. at least all through august.

edit: nobody will sell now. the banana three has been shaken + there is evidence of (good) business practices, hence profit, ergo divs.

At the Salon, didn't FC said he has started mining and will be paying divs regularly?

Yup, mining since the middle of July (not full power) and hopes to start paying divs in Aug.

Not likely FC would lie about something like that. Expect divs in August then.

Why is everyone getting all worked up, expecting big rises in share price?

The miner we have to offer is over priced, and electricity consumption is not great.
There are cheaper ready assembled units for sale on the market.

I can only foresee share price tanking with this news.
So divs coming out is a bonus, but lets not pretend they are gonna be big enough to lift the share price considerably.

What am I missing, other than optimism?

There actually aren't cheaper ready assembled units for sale and FC has stated a 15-20% total network self mine goal.  The market is incredibly thin so if you don't already have shares, your only hope is to knock a few straggling weak hands loose.

Good luck!

source?

I have shares, just not expecting great things is all.

I have no firm figures, I am going of what was predicted in this thread months ago, which was .1 to .2 per share, and that was before we had trouble selling the chips and the miners due to chip spec.

Ants are cheaper, assembled, and with less power usage, no?

Nope. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=735728.msg8311953#msg8311953

You should pull out a calculator and figure out weekly divs on 15% self mining...  Do the math yourself, it isn't hard, your opinion may change.

Tube is >800G, its price is ~1BTC

OK, my bad, so a little more expensive, but assembled and cheaper to run...  I know which I bought.

Indeed 15% would be great IF we can get there, but if we go for 15%, thats our div money reinvested to get us there.

If we get saved I think its from 28nm, not our current chips.

Who cares about assembled and ready to run?  It takes maybe 30 minutes per full unit, maybe an hour for the first one.  I don't know about you, but my time isn't worth $300-400/hour.

It's natural for you to defend your decision to buy Ants, they are good units at a fair price.  They simply aren't the least expensive anymore.

FC knows what it takes to run a large mine and is intimately familiar with network growth.  I don't believe that he would have stated 15-20% if he didn't think it was obtainable.  I'm betting on it.

FC had that goal about 12 months ago. What happened in the last 12 months. The shit hit the fan unfortunately and we got paid virtually nothing.

Best laid plans of mice and men and all that .....

Also, it only appears he has gone back to the self-mining plan because the OEM deals have failed to bring in the buyers. Doesn't sound great to me, more like "last resort".

He only said he hoped he could start paying divs in August. based on that, I certainly wouldn't expect divs in August, an outside hope at best. The days of FC under-promising and over-delivering are well gone.

Yeah, it sounds like "Fuck it! I might as well hash the shit out of those chips myself" :-) But my reaction to that is "Yeah, let's do this!"

selling  domain is www.iasicminer.com
