All asks are > 1.29 on the passthroughs... Perhaps the last chance for AM shares under 1.25/share!

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=196273.new#new
might be the last chance for shares below 1.3  Grin

I don't think I could bring myself to sell any shares below 2 btc right now...

what's the difference between TAT and other PT ?

TAT-PT are 1/100 of a share, 'regular' PTs are 1/1 share.

I bought some of TAT.ASICMINER. They were a good chunk less expensive...
bitfunder seems to be the best deal right now, hovering around 1.33.

you can still get the TAT.ASICMINER for 0.0129, so that's the best deal right now.

I thought I told you guys to leave the PT price alone so I could buy shares cheap after dividend day.  Did nobody listen to me?  Grin

I have a few questions, apologies if these seem obvious but a quick search does not really give me anything. Also, I am a brand new Asicminer shareholder as of a few days ago!

Does asicminer design the chips themselves or do they purchase from avalon? From what I have seen, so far they are only purchasing from avalon.

Once a new cryptocurrency comes out which is better than bitcoin (not now, but possibly in a year or few), would asicminer shift to mining for the new currency and designing new ic's for the new currency, or would they refuse to change?

AM has not purchased anything from Avalon.  Asicminer is a first class chip developer and producer.  They designed the chips themselves.

AM has no plans around anything except Bitcoin for now.  I'm sure the shareholders could push them in one direction or another if something else looked like it was coming out.

Welcome! Enjoy the ride, up or down, you'll have a great time and learn a ton of useful info!

They design their own chips.

Once a new cryptocurrency comes out which is better than bitcoin (not now, but possibly in a year or few), would asicminer shift to mining for the new currency and designing new ic's for the new currency, or would they refuse to change?

That greatly depends on the coin. Nothing prevents ASICMiner to shit to other coins if those prove to be better, more profitable, or just plain more cool.

From what I have seen, people are selling their avalons to buy AM shares...

Fractional ASICMINER shares are now available at Havelock Investments as well. https://www.havelockinvestments.com/order.php?symbol=ASICM

They are selling like hotcakes, but don't worry, I'm replenishing as fast I can!

Thank you so much JaredR26 and furuknap for answering my questions!

One last question, can I vote if I keep my share in the BTC-TC "format" or do I have to request for it to be converted into a normal direct share?

that's just rules for the pass through, not for ASICMiner.

I don't think shares have any voting rights, it is just profit sharing through the dividend.

I do believe if you have 5,000 shares or more, you get a board seat, which probably comes with voting rights.

In any case, I'm not an expert, so if I'm wrong, someone please correct me.
