Its not that i claim to throw manpower onto it regardless what the problem is. But without knowing what the bottleneck is i has to guess its something related to electric handwork. The software runs and is mining like we see, so it has to be physical work. And i dont think that its a so very special task that no worker form outside can do it.
No, it does not "[have] to be physical work".

Here's two other possibilities.

1) For whatever reason, the software or firmware just isn't cutting it. E.g., one or more sets of hardware keeps dropping offline or getting 'hung'.

2) The chips / boards are failing nearly as fast as they are being deployed. Resulting in only about half or less of the first batch remaining operational.

Either of those hypothesis can explain why we're now seeing between 4 and 5th per hour rather than the 12 expected by now. In case one, they just can't keep them all cranking. In the second case, the magic smoke just keeps escaping.

I am not advancing either of these ideas as probable. However, with what we know, either is just as plausible as your contention of what "has to be".

-- edit

Just went to take a look at current status. Now at "4,221.70 GH/s". Down from the about 5 TH/s we were at for a while. That is more than just mining variance. Clearly shows that not all the hashing power stays up once deployed.

Youre right of course. There are other possibilities and with the infos we have now only guessing remains. I hope friedcat can bring some light into this. He already said that he wanted to give infos more often so now its only 3 days left to next thursday. A good time to break the one week at thursday only rule...

Whether it's legit or not... we need some more hashing power online soon.... others are catching up fast.... At least we can rely on BFL to be delayed for a while  Wink

It's not legit. New poster with no history comes along and *poof* "Look at my ASIC that I'm selling!!" is a scam 99% of the time.

Of course, anyone is free to prove me wrong with an investment of 1300 Euro with this guy...

Can someone please recap this saga and tell us what has happened with this project so far?
Did they ever make a working chip? Is this chip actually in use? Has anyone ever really received a working ASIC miner form those guys? Who and are you mining?  And wtf is up with this "our own stock exchange" nonsense (diversion from the main goal?) while we have 2 fine exchanges to choose from  - https://btct.co/ and Bitfunder Smiley

Thank you.

PS!To mope-prtroll. Before you start yakking and writing your paid spam and singing praise to your pervert master and it's one stock wunder-bazaar, let me use that quote to remind you what you and scumbag Popescu really are. I'll paraphrase: "MPEx's and it's PR muppet are "skidmarks" on bitcoins underwear and time will wash them out."
Tick-tock, troll women. Tick-fkn-tock, it's time for you to go.

They say (and I have no reason to doubt it) are mining with ASICs, and are paying out dividends. Deployment was slower than anticipated, but regardless shares are trading for ~0.65.

And they are not selling hardware yet... it's a self-mining project first... up to around 50TH, after that they might be selling hardware

So it is real. Smiley
I actually feel sorry for those, who sent money to BFL and others directly or via shares/bonds/etc.

It's good, but it's becoming weird that we can't pass the 4 Thash/s line. I wonder where is the problem.

I wouldn't be so sure ASICMiner hasn't passed 4Th. This is the HOF at ozco.in:

ok, so it seems they are distributing the hashrate to other pools as well, which is definitely good. Great news, thanks for that information...

Just wanted to say how pleased I am with Asicminer, as a project it has been a great success.
(Yes I enjoyed my first dividends)

Well done Friedcat, keep up the good work. Apparently I got a lot of reading to catch up on.
Any tips for important pages to look at?

Keeping an eye on the competition: BFL chips have arrived in the packaging facility, scheduled for packaging on Wednesday (subject to change).

In other words, they still have a long way to go before their customers can start hashing. I would guess at least another two weeks...

I bet ASICMINER is in a pretty good shape to compete with the above in terms of a total hashrate deployed before summer.
However the situation changes drastically around June as the new player joins the game with 28nm SOI state of the art technology and around petahash of aggregate performance for their first production wafer run.

"Looking for system integrators for new asic"
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=146371.0

They are looking for partners and system integrators to bring their chip to consumer market or build systems for self-mining.
They have already chosen two primary partners and are going to cooperate with more companies in a few weeks time.
Avalon has publicly expressed interest in that thread. Maybe ASICMINER should too! Wink

I have never been so excited for a Thursday in my life. I hope the next report will be more detailed, and give at least a vague timeline for getting the rest of our hashing power up and running. Divs will be fun too... especially at $40. Wouldn't shock me if it were $50 by Thursday.

Hate to wish bad luck on others... but part of me would love to see BFLs chips fail. Okay... all of me would love that.

Keep printing us money, friedcat.   Grin
