I had this weird thought today that if the btc:usd rate tumbled, hardware sales would actually go *up* as GPU miners see an opportunity to get an ASIC at a bargain price. The thought of all those Bitcoins rolling in made me swoon...
Surely this would be counteracted by people panic selling asicminer shares so they could cash out of bitcoin? If not then I guess it's undevalued even at BTC5 per share lol IMHO, people that own ASICMINER shares are not going to "cash out" of bitcoin any time soon. A price drop is just a better opportunity to get "cheap" coins. Unless you are just referring to the fact that they will sell during the "tumble" and buy back later. Then I agree that some will cash out.

So, new topic of discussion...
What do we think dividends are going to be? There is limited transparency on hardware sales now... so that is an issue. We should get >0.01 from mining unless something drastic changes. I believe a good number of coins were taken in from USB miner sales... not sure how many but I know the cap was 10,000 units @ 1.99. Also... I wonder if any people decided to try and buy in on some bulk blades since friedcat decided on a price, I know a few people before in auctions were trying to get 20+ blades, but ended up getting outbid.
Thoughts? Is there any hard numbers on these sales of blades and USB drives to be found elsewhere on the forums?
To my knowledge, (from the US USB group purchase) the funds for the USB Blades were sent but Friedcat said that they would sit in an account until shipment, and to my knowledge, no shipping has begun on the USB miners. (That group buy was also confirmed as the first order in for USB miners), so unless something gets shipped in the next day or two, it is doubtful that USB miner sales will be included in this dividend payment.

The hash rate from pool mining is still ~17.6 Thash. Be interesting to see how many blocks the solo mine gets over the next few days, so we can estimate its hash rate.

Another disappointingly brief update. NOT. Bravo Friedcat! Bravo, indeed. Imagine Mozart comes to your house and sits down to play your piano. At the end of the first piece, do you a) ask him lots of questions about what he's going to play next b) tell him to be careful with your piano because it's really valuable c) tell him how to play or d) enthusiastically applaud him and look forward to what he plays next?

Now I need to figure out how to determine the hashrate from blocks with ASICMiner's coinbase. Hmm...

Asicminer's hashrate on BTC Guild (67117) has gone down about 5 TH/s within a few hours, from about 13TH/s to 8,813.86 GH/s. https://www.btcguild.com/index.php?page=rankingsCOULD be roughly 5TH/s that are solo mining now.

Dear friedcat,
I do appreciate all your work but please answer the following:
Where are we hashing and at what rate atm? If solo, please explain what is going on.
How are the future deployment plans progressing? You promised a lot per week. What is going on, please?
How many Blades were sold? How many USB thingies were sold?
Why are your "updates" not answering questions everybody would like to be answered (no rocket science)?
I myself have a considerable amount invested in ASICMINER. If this attitude of ASICMINER continues, I will sell it all off.
If you simply read through this thread, you will find ALL of those answers, or reasons why they are not answered. How many fortune 500 companies give weekly updates rather than quarterly anyway? I'll wait while you put a list together. Go ahead and sell off your "considerable amount", I'll be ready to snatch it up when you make that mistake.
