It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

What has friedcat done? He had 30% of the pie, and the business is now trash. Even Labcoin is close to them in TH. I feel as though he ran AM into the ground purposefully.

Why would he put more TH/s online when people are willing to buy them for more than they can generate in their lifetime? The smart thing to do is to sell them for a quick profit that can be reinvested instead of betting on the hashrate to reach a plateau in the next few months (only way current 1st gen chips could be profitable even bought at cost).

If I were in friedcat's position I would do exactly what he seems to do:
- keep hashing with existing hardware that has already been paid for multiple times,
- research new hardware tech to be ready to put it online ASAP,
- keep selling what customers want to buy and maybe install what is not selling quick enough/is partially defective in the mine to avoid wasting it.

This is called bidding your time. I would be worried if the mine was growing quickly in hashrate with 1st gen ASICs right now as the whole venture would probably risk bleeding Bitcoins.

Following this reasoning I took a risk and bought quite a few shares recently: they may not pay off right now, but I expect them to do so in 2014 and if I'm right it would be too late to buy them then.

P2pool tuning guide
Trade BTC for €/$ at bitcoin.de (referral), it's cheaper and faster (acts as escrow and lets the buyers do bank transfers).

IT IS JUST LUCK!

Will take me a while to climb up again, But where is a will, there is a way...

Absolutely, there is no point in deploying new gen1 hardware in the hashfarm. Selling is a way better option, until the market runs out of fools that is. We need new hardware at a competitive node size desperately.

The exchange, hubs and immersion cooling can hopefully all find profitable niches as well, I just hope friedcat is not losing focus and trying to do too many things at once. New mining hardware should be #1.

AM virtually has a monopoly on USB mining sticks so I hope we can emphasize on that with gen2 as well.

Edit: *ugh* I noticed I used the word 'hope' 3 times... No wonder all the serious investors have left.

Haven't seen this asked or raised here before ...

With BTCT closing, we now have Havelock and Bitfunder. I can't access Bitfunder, and with all the recent issues seen on that exchange, I am not really sure how much volume is there. On Havelock, we have about 9000 shares. This is out of the total 400,000 shares released by AM (even if we they have 66%, there's still 131,000 shares outside of Havelock. What's happening to those shares? I am not seeing panic selling on the auctions forum here. Are there other major BTC boards or forums where people trade BTC stock?

I just see few panic traders who probably have no clue or are just in there for the day trading (looking at you, Havelock traders).

As many have said, that stock price on Havelock (or even Bitfunder) isn't any representation of the actual value of the AM stock. Once AM rolls out the blockchain based exchange, or if BTCT resurrects, we will start to see the true value.

Seriously?

Board members, can we please request that Friedcat arrange for any further news or information be released here, before such information is released via these interviews?

At very least, if these interviews are now the company's preferred means of releasing new information can we at least have a translated transcript published here at the same time the interview is posted?

ASICMINER shows a considerable dividends in Oct. 27, why the stock exchange market(like bitfunder, havelockinvestments) does not pay the dividends. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AkPdXsQFT-vIdHRVUjQ5Ql9BQWR6OENLMkhyUktUblE#gid=0

That dividend is incorrect.  The last dividend was on Oct 23 and was 0.00374772 BTC/share.

What you are looking at is likely the sum of all dividends paid previously.

That's exactly what it is. If you click on the cell it shows that it is the sum of the entire column [=SUM(L1:L986)]

Why they pay the dividends on Sunday instead of Wednesday.

They didn't, it's just the bottom of that column happens to line up with row Oct. 27. It means nothing but the sum of the dividends column.

I don't understand this, if they could be mining 1000TH instead of sold them as USBs, that is enough to make them dominate the network. Share price would still be 4-5, and they'd be making enough to dominate the next generation.

As it is, shareholders have received zero benefits from those sales and watched their shares drop by 1000 %
