Has anything about this interview been confirmed or is it all BS? Sounds too good to be true.

Actually it just confirms what was said earlier and isn't really news. Several hundred TH were schedueled for "end of the year" and I think 1000 were mentioned in rockxie's presentation. Not sure anymore..

This is the interviewer's thread:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=252469.0 (sticky in the Chinese subforum)

It's still a relief to know that FC is still interested in mining.  For awhile there he had us convinced he was going to resort to selling cotton candy and cigarettes, (ignoring mining all together)

He predicted once that the fee will be 15BTC a block, how could he know? even satoshi does not know. Although I hold a good amount of share, I have to admit that I think he said it to make positive effect on AM price.

Seems reasonable to me. I think the fees could one day go greater than 50 btc per block.

I don't think so, that would be insane. Off-chain transactions will get more and more popular.

pretty fast.  i opened one as soon as i saw the news and had my btc in there within 20 - 30 min.  bought some shares, sold 66% of them for the amount i bought all of them to get all my original investment back out.  so i have free shares!

You run the fractional reserve risk with that, but it's possible, specially for small values.

I was referring to the rockxie who held the Chinese ASICMINER presentation. As far as I recall 1000 TH for end of this year were mentioned there.

Edit:

http://wenku.baidu.com/view/ede0631876c66137ee06192f.html

This one. I can't tell the page though, it's just from my memory. Smiley

Edit 2:

I think the confussion is that FC allegedly said in the interview that 2014 the network hashrate may hit 1000 PH.

A brief translation is as below:

1. Franchising: Only board members are allowed to become franchised partners. Their AM stocks are sent to FC as collateral in exchange for the ASIC devices. The devices are deployed by partners and 80% of the revenue generated by those devices is owned by FC.

2. FC has access to lower electricity cost which would be a big advantage compared to competitors outside China.

3. The estimated network hashrate of 1000p in 2014 is from a pessimistic point of view. Although it may not reach that level of hashrate by the end of 2014, FC would take it as a possible result and get well-prepared for it.

4. The immersion technique FC invented is a break-through compared to traditional one. This new technique would be of great help to the deployment of the new Gen chips.

5. FC didn't sell his AM stocks at the peak of its price. When asked in the interview why he didn't cash out, he responded that if he sold out the shares, people who bought them would make him work for them. He would like to only work for himself.

*shrugs* This news is all positive but also very reasonable. Of course it makes sense to wait for Friedcat to post here saying either "Yup, that was me" or "No, those are lies" before making a decision.
