also bitcoin atms and payment gates/terminals in china

I was just about to post this. Since AsicMiner is branching out..producing ATM's isn't much of a stretch

Edit: and I'm sure he can get them made for dirt cheap and sell them at a huge profit for $2,500 or so. Half of what the cheapest ATM's cost.

Agreed, as I said ill hold for a few more weeks, or until I see it well under 1 btc, but Im not holding my breath, too much competition for it to be valued as high as it was, they will be lucky if the share price stays over 1 btc

It is impossible to repeat what AM did in the last year. And this was explicitly admitted in this update saying that they are aiming at annual profits in the single digit territory. Even this sounds optimistic to me. It is not at all clear whether in half a year anybody will make any profit by mining or selling mining gear.

Think so? With the recent SR news and major BTC swings, will we see the previous correlations of dropping BTC/rising AM price? (inb4 all the "analysts" say there is/isn't a correlation)

If people will start even more panic on BTC price AM will go down a lot too for obvious reasons

Getting close to single digit profits in 2014? Might as well just buy Google at that point. I'm not in the illegal stock market game to make 10%.

So as long as everybody receive their dividends, it doesn't care if share price will fall to, let's say, 0.001 ?
I don´t think so. Pissed investors will go to another project, do we wish this ?
And again, I trust FC, I only think he needs to be more comunicative, as he is the head of the project.

He recently started to let the board build the news out of the infos he posts there. It looks like a regular setup and saves friedcat much time it seems.

I dont care if other investors move to another project because im in it for the divs. Though i admit i would have sold my shares if i knew before how far they will drop. Now i had a multiple of shares.

When i see the new report from friedcat it tells me he is making good decisions and will most likely find good ways to keep the company running well.

So... if the shareprice crashes... its time to buy. The divs are fine anyway. So if some people are stupid enough to sell this shares then its their loss. Friedcat couldnt have done much here since the drop now couldnt be changed. Its not the low div, that happened before. Its the rise of other companies and on top there is a panic rushing through all mining securities that lead to crashing the price of all. Im not sure why that spread to all mining securities. Anyway... at some point the good securities will be seeable again.

I'm sorry, but "im in it for the divs" doesn't really make sense. If you bought at 5, and your investment is worth 20% of what you paid, then how many years of divs would it take for you to get your money back if it doesn't ever go back up to 4? Fundamentally, we're all in it for the investment, aren't we?

I was on shortly after his message and that's exactly what I did. It's down, but not quite ready to buy back. There is a way to go still.

Lot's of 'hope' and 'might' in the update. Not a very positive update unfortunately. I'm still a believer in AM but there is very little to hold on to at this point.

Yes a bit more information might help alleviate fears. Unless things are going really bad.  Roll Eyes

Wow.

That is worse than expected.

I am resuming a very bearish outlook. 1-year PT 0.3 BTC/share.

Friedcat blew his chance and his first-mover advantage. Now he doesn't even have competitive Gen2 positioning.

Retrospectively I'm not surprised, they aren't professional chip designers and the competition largely is.

I assume some revenue was kept back again this week, but does anyone know approximately how much has been kept back in total?

AM owns this (though it also gets divs) and seems like a lot of traffic to and from this address. http://blockchain.info/address/1HgTJED7XEGy4vVwKa8kgefWqUB3VRX2mW

Currently about 9000 BTC here.

Other stuff:
1. The HW payments I was keeping track off from group buy threads, most of them ended up here (http://blockchain.info/address/1ZGtnxLWYVDbUVXPQLTRqnF6Bv6u2BMf8). They still weren't part of the divs (~1670 BTC)

2. Similar one, with ~616 BTC still there - http://blockchain.info/address/18GHa147X18rdNPxJeuNeEM7L7SFzsvTyi - From hw sales

3. Both Sonic and Cannary's group buy payment still has approx. 500 BTC (I imagine most of this being sent to FC, after deducting reseller commission)

http://blockchain.info/address/16ARXc5LhCnz111qD5xRUR3mWVg6gkBcU4
http://blockchain.info/address/14ja5p6K1gqYgmZQPCU295UxducKwaT6pw

Thanks for keeping track of this!

so, ~2786 btc or so that hasn't gone into divs from HW sales.  Maybe they will go in next week.

If that top address (9000 BTC) is withholding for expansion, that's a serious expansion planned.

Probably about a petahash.

Trouble is that it's still in BTC. If FC is going to be full-scale deployed by December he should have already sold that. Lead time on chips alone from e-beam sample receipt to full-scale 55nm shipping is probably in the neighborhood of ten weeks. Then there's the delay for assembly and deployment.

Either a large scale BTC buyer owns that address,  or FC hasn't started using his Gen 2 funds. As far as I know, no 55nm-capable foundry accepts bitcoin.

Not to mention he's playing with fire by keeping future fiat liabilities in Bitcoin in the first place. That's like a gold mining company hoarding gold bars to save up for a new mine that they had promised to investors.

Disclaimer: Vycid stands to gain significantly from AM losing value and is still butt-hurt from this morning when he convinced himself the hash rate might actually stay at 0.

LOL. Disclaimer is in my sig, there's a giant image of carebears next to my name with the caption "the AM bear who cares".

With such powers of observation,  I'm sure you make excellent investment choices.

Also - if you had actually read my posts, you would have realized that I was mocking the people who thought this fluctuation was anything other than chance.

There is a strong correlation between "Vycid is posting to the forum" and "AM is finding a block": Sometimes it is silent for 12 hours, and at other times, there is noice every 10 minutes. Let's call it luck when it is quiet. Cheesy

Oh, AM found a block and Vycid only posted twice in the last couple of minutes. - Vycid, which btc securities are recommended right now?

I propose the "hidden variable" explanation for this correlation. When AM is finding blocks after a dry spell, more people are posting stupid things. When more people are posting stupid things, Vycid is pointing out more stupid things.

I take your post as my first positive evidence of this theory.
