For all the Havelock folks - realize that you run the same risks as the guys who kept BTC at MtGox:
It is not wise to keep shares there (or BTC): Use exchanges to buy or sell, not store.
This is exactly why I was asking. If my regular stock broker goes down, I don't lost my shares. But if Havelock goes down and my shares are not registered anywhere else, I lose control of them?
Issuer of the shares is receiving daily (or even more often) the list of usernames with the number of shares. Ofc, you have to trust the issuer.
We went through the closing of several exchanges, and we still have our shares.

I am afraid that he's unable to sign message with address from Gox account. Since he doesn't own private key from address. It was very stupid idea at first. I am afraid he just lost his shares, until he's somehow able to get private key from Gox, which is unlikely. Another sad story here.

either that or send an email to fnnirvana(@)gmail.com (ofc also add a signed message with your wallet address as mentioned by swordsoffreedom)

oh no, don't tell me the shares were assigned to a gox wallet. (from what i read he just assigned the div payout to a gox address)
well in that case things could get difficult.

There is a small difference in that FC is able to reallocate to true owner. Whether he does or not is a separate thing.

Not if the shareholder list is private. Unlike bitfunder, havelock could technically go rogue and disappear leaving everyone out of luck.

Is there any way to publicly verify shareholdings with havelock?

Asicminer shares are always bound to the same address the dividends flow to. Except friedcat did change something in the last time.

You have a problem now. Didnt you know that you never should add anything of value to a bitcoin address you dont own? Especially when its only a deposit address. Your shares now are bound to the mtgox address... that address is the owner now. And you cant access it because its not your address.

The only chance i see is if your account is bound to an email. If you send friedcat an email from that email address you can ask him to move the shares to another of YOUR addresses. An address in your own wallet. Preferably not a website wallet since websites with wallets go down left and right.

Please ALWAYS contact me through bitcointalk pm before sending someone coins.

Dear AM Fund unit holders on Havelock,

We do understand your concern and we take the trust given to us by the shareholders of ASICMINER very seriously.

After March 1st, Havelock Investments will handle the Importing and Exporting of shares in and out of Havelock instead of TAT. Nothing in terms of fees will change.
Instructions on how to import and export your shares will be available on our AM Fund page on Havelock Investments.

In the event that Havelock can no longer stay in business for whatever reason, shareholders will send us a dedicated Bitcoin address from their email address tied to their account on Havelock.

A list of the shareholders' Bitcoin address and the number of units they hold will be sent directly to friedcat with a request to transfer the shares to direct shares.

Feel free to contact us with any questions and concerns,

Havelock Investments

I would hope that the address would be tied to the trader account BEFORE a shut down event. We all know how 'after the fact' works out. At least have the option for proactive customers to safeguard their investments. This worked smoothly with the BTC-TC shut down, with no panic or even worries - because it was all prearranged.

Right now, can you tie an account to an address? I've searched for the setting but havent found it, if the feature is there.

Unless you trade AM shares often, are a market maker, or are planing to buy or sell shares in a few weeks, I see no reason to hold your shares on Havelock.  Direct shares are more secure, have lower fees, no delay in dividends... you have proof of ownership.

Besides all that, I see no reason to give someone a board seat when they themselves do not have the stake in the company.  When you hold shares on a PT, you give up a good bit.

Havelock can you confirm the Escrow address the shares are in for the Passthru

TAT's shares were designated to this address and serve as the physical escrow for the holdings held in AM100
Havelock should also possess a holding address if the ownership is being transferred that can be observed by users

Would it be an option to hold a public shareholder list like Bitfunder used to? (with a public BTC address tied to each account)

I think this is something Havelock are suspiciously slow to implement. It should be mandatory for all companies listed on the exchange.

Hopefully we'll get an announcement soon. After the failure of gen2, you would expect vital lessons would have been learnt for production of gen3?

Buying some shares now could be a good punt.

Gen2 is not a failure, Friedcat just weren't satisfied the power consumption of gen2 considering the strong competition in the near future. So just skip gen2 to gen3 for the benefit in the long term.

It was only a failure compared to gen3. If gen2 was not skipped we would have probably seen bitmain-like devices but that would also likely have delayed gen3.

I think it was a good choice to skip gen2 since gen3 will destroy the competition sooner.

0.2w/$1/gh is unbeatable.
