Share price appears to be holding up in the quiet. I envision some notional clock ticking down from when we believe tape out occurred to the pronouncement "It's alive..... Igor it's alive!".
What were estimates? Six weeks from tape out to delivery?
On another note these Coincraft A1 counterfeit allegations aren't good news if true for the asic maker scene. I am curious if it's accurate how it will effect the market in the long run. Wondering if it will lower the Gh/$ bar.

IIRC the manufacturers should get sample chips in the end of March, so ... now. But I don't see any income from chips sales yet in public known AM addresses, maybe sample chips are for free ? And I don't know if we can recognize this sample-round as "we're still on track ! mass delivery in March !". Mass delivery ? I hope and believe™, let's see. I would like to see some update from manufacturers, or board, or Friedcat. This silence is horrible PR attitude. EDIT : Please note, that we investors are waiting almost 1 year for next gen from Gen1. It is horrible burden at least for me.

Possibly chips went to rockxie on consignment. I don't see that as any major obstacle for long term investors if that were the case.

Would rocksie delivering in March equal "mass delivery"? Or are we talking sample chips quantites?

>>> The sample miner will be availble in April and the chips would be AM's Gen3. specification: AM gen3 chips, 40nm, 1TH, 500W.

Again we are left to interpret what came from the reddit and Chinese forum posts so take it for what it's worth. The information of true value will come from the horses mouth.
From there we are led to believe all of batch 1 was accounted for and rockxie was solely or partially the recipient of that batch. I suggest that if the vast majority went to rockxie then rockxie is the source of revenue to this point. That revenue could come in many forms including mining equipment. Now within those same reddit messages is an endorsement for rockxie claiming he is on AM board of directors. If this is the case one would assume the relationship between FC and rockxie would extend some professional courtesies and not treat him merely as a customer. Therefore to assume revenue would look like a tradition sale of product IMHO is probably a bad assumption.

It could mean the first samples of their miners are due in April and not be in direct relation with the quantity of chips on hand. I don't think I have seen any indication on the actual number of chips. Again we are left to interpret what came from the reddit and Chinese forum posts so take it for what it's worth. That, and how many chips are in batch 1. Could be 100, could be 10.000+. I *suppose* they have taped out and are either waiting for samples or a small rocket run.

I'd just be happy to hear something regarding tested performance at this point. Bringing a 40nm based IC to market on mass in a timely fashion after that isn't testing any new ground IMHO.

IMHO we haven't seen any demonstration of Gen3 at work for us anywhere including the pool. Now there is always the off chance it's being tested off pool accounting for part of those notable percentage of "unknowns" in the distribution but my impression is that FC isn't the type to go rogue. I really don't get the sense Gen3 is along that far but then there isn't a lot to go on in terms of news from the war department. Why the stock is up today? Who knows....

Definitely impending doom. Everyone jump ship now its game over. Haha, impending doom! Someone didn't pay his first born for tribute! Now cthulhu and kraken will be released at same time! KS, the lower the hashrate compared to the network gets, the more variance strikes, and variance is a really really big bitch! At the current difficulty and so on, we should mine something around one block per week. We could mine zero blocks till gen3 strikes. We even could mine one block per day and it would be no indicator for gen3 arrived. Just the bitch we name variance.

Just curious... what do you guys think about expecting news sometime in March? I know that none of us know... but if you all think I should just stop checking this thread until April, I will.

friedcat noted that the next major update will likely come after the chips have been tested and the final specs determined. At the same time the overall ordering process will become clearer, as supply will have to be met by demand. Based on latest information the first chips are on track and to be received end of March.

I like the version with Cthulhu better (Kraken is out already). [Not, in fact, that I would like it like it if it came true ] I would hope for some crumbs of information before the end of the month (pretty please?), we'll be there in a week anyway.

ASIC research, development, manufacturing and perfection takes time. Sample chips wont be the end all everyone hopes and nearly expects after a Gen2 failure. If you really believe in AM's pre tested chip specs you should also possess a wee bit of patience. Thats how much of a game changer they CAN be. That's what friedcat's goals and motivations have been portrayed as since IPO. Either he can deliver or he can't.
You all can keep speculating. Wishing for a divide. Hoping to occupy some grey area.
Truth is; this generation works out.
Gets mass produced.
Becomes successful.
Or shares slip as FC dips into AM's massive (relatively) reserve and tries again while maintaining a vision of commercialized bitcoin mining.
So much whining and bickering here. Save it for your girlfriends book club for fucks sake.

Depends on when the market starts to feel immediate is actually delayed and starts reacting downwards to adjust for difficulty Well Rockxies moving and there are other factors Friedcats deleted post is interesting though so just in it for the ride now
