1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Understanding the Impact of Social Media in Gambling. on: Today at 10:26:08 AM
....

I think these influencers must know their target audience before accepting the offer or should not be included in their blogs or videos?

they just don't care about it, because the most important thing for them is how they can make money from the promotion. they don't care who their audience is and who they get the money from or what brand they promote, the important thing is that they can get money and that's enough for them.

if we say they don't care about this, that's not true, but it's just that most of these influencers are stupid, so they don't know what they are doing, promoting something that is very vulnerable to children.

Exactly as I thought, mostly when I see such ads I just skip them but to the younger ones that are beginning to know about what life is and really want to explore more, they wouldn't mind entering the the sites and that's it once they like what they see they are now into it and  we all know what that means..

But the influencers really don't care as they know they are just after their money and whatever that brings in the money they'll surely do it not minding the negative effect it may cause on the society and the youths.

younger peeps are in the age of being curious in everything, like they really want to try new things that they see in social media even if there's a disclaimer that some contents are not suitable for their age that's why they need more guidance because they are prone in any bad thing that may happen. Influencers usually put a disclaimers in their contents that's why we cannot blame them because they just do it for the sake of money, however other influencers are intentionally display their content to catch up some viewers for their engagements.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What need to follow to play the stress free gambling game on: Today at 09:26:08 AM
Stress free gambling game? just play using faucet, demo account or worthless coin, so you will have nothing to worry since even you're lose streak, it doesn't affect your financial. But, you shouldn't expect if you win big, you can withdraw your winnings, you can't since it's not even real money at all.

Most people like to earn money without any risk, while the reality it's impossible.
That's right, you will be having no stress when it comes to your financial assets and savings but still your mind is working and
sometimes when we try offline demo accounts, this is what can trigger a person to try an actual gambling session, so we should also be aware and know how to control ourselves so that even if we only try offline gambling, it will not we will be tempted to spend more just to gamble.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Lotto Winner Takes Time To Claim Their Rewards, What's The Point? on: Today at 06:03:09 AM
Here in our country, if you hit the jackpot, you are given one year to claim your rewards. There is also a security feature on the back of the lotto ticket where you can write your name and sign it, so you are the only person who can claim the jackpot prize, and you have a year to claim it.

I read that some lottery winners take weeks or even months to claim their rewards, but what's the point?

What if you keep it and will surprise your family after a month, but you have an accident and you get into a coma?

Or you let it know to your family, but you decide that you will claim it after a month but some members of the family spread the news will this put your family and yourself in jeopardy

Do you think it's a good idea to claim your winnings a day after hitting the jackpot or wait a few weeks?

How about you? When do you think is the right time to claim your winnings?

maybe because there is a process that is followed before they release the money and you also need to comply with the requirements that are necessary for you to receive the money you won. For me, there is nothing wrong if it takes weeks to get the money, use the days we are waiting to plan where we will use the money so that it doesn't run out immediately and just go to nothing.
4  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Seabank sa P2P Exchange on: May 22, 2024, 08:06:17 PM

Mas okay talaga Unionbank, very crypto friendly and less hassle. Yung gotyme, okay syang gamitin and less worry din ako dito kasi owned by the Gokongwei Group ito saka nagagamit din sya kapag nag out of country ka.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much of my salary should I use to gamble on: May 22, 2024, 07:28:33 PM
Gambling is becoming a popular thing in my locality almost everyone gamble and even colleagues gamble and engage in gambling related discussions at work,  so gambling is legal and very popular so there is no Shame in using part of a salary to gamble with that is why I am asking the question of what the right percentage from my salary that I should use to gamble?
You can use your entire salary to gamble and nobody is going to question you about it. You are have the right to make the right decision for yourself. There is no standard percentage for gamble from your salary, your responsibilities, things you spend your money on will determine how much money you should spend on gambling.

Well you have a point when it comes to your "rights" but some people here are suggesting estimated percentages because OP is asking us what is the ideal amount to use. If you're a kind of a wise person, you will eventually think that using all of your salary is not a good advice because there's a lot of things may happen in just a snap and in just one wrong move in your bets so it's really up to a person how risk taker and decision maker they are.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you disguise on your real gambling lifestyle just to help a friend/relative? on: May 22, 2024, 12:52:42 PM
I've never had problems with gambling addiction, but I watched a video on the Internet about a guy who was a former problem gambler.
He gave a great interview where he talked about how he realized his addiction and defeated it, and now he wants to tell everyone how very dangerous gambling can be. And this guy was really very addicted - during the interview there were inserts from his streams when he was still a gambler.
And it was a completely different personality!

I think this is a great example of getting rid of addiction.
He really lucky can realizes about his addiction and knows how to solved his problems. Not many people like him that can cured his addiction and now he tells to many people about the dangerous of the gambling addiction. Most people will not knows about their addiction and will thinks that they still okay playing gambling so they will not stops their gambling activity. If many more people like him and can gives his story about addiction and can inspired many people, maybe many people can realizes that they are addicted to gambling and wants to search for the way to cure their addiction. What people with addicted to gambling must do trying to open their minds and accept the reality that they are addicted to gambling and needs to solve the problem before they gets the worst things in their lives.

It's rare today to have people like that, the ones who know their limitations in the things they do and know what they should and shouldn't do because they are aware of the possible consequences if they are not careful with the actions they do. . He doesn't need to announce the effect of gambling on a person because we all have different experiences when it comes to gambling stuffs and it seems that there is no need to say that because everyone is aware of what it causes, it's just not Only other people can adapt the advice given to them or they will not learn by listening to other people's advice, not unless they themselves have experienced it.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lunatic gamblers who says Airdrop rewards are free funds. on: May 22, 2024, 09:38:45 AM
but even if the money comes from an airdrop, isn't it money that comes from rewards given for the tasks they have done? so i don't think that it is 'free money' as they say. it's just that their treatment of the money is too trivial, perhaps because they think that the money is very easy to get so they gamble it without consideration.

even though it is their right to use the money to gamble, it is money, and they should use it wisely so that it won't all be spent on gambling alone.

Everyone can receive an airdrop depends on the task that they've done, sometimes it's an easy task that's why other people considered it as "free" when in fact, it's like a reward for us because we are able to finish the corresponding task given by some campaigns. Some airdrops doesn't have a value or it takes time for us to use that reward but if luck knock on us, possible that we will be having a big bucks, so I agree with you, we shouldn't use all of the money in gambling only, we need to diversify our funds and know how to handle our finances well so that we won't get any problem or regrets in the future.
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the biggest bet you ever won? Did you withdraw or lose it? on: May 22, 2024, 05:53:20 AM
I guess you have to take your education very seriously though, just take it from someone who almost didn't finished my college and my parents and siblings have to make a lot of sacrifices for me.

So don't look at gambling as something that will sustain you all throughout in life. As there is a saying, just work hard and study when you are young and save a lot of money. So that in the future, you can have a better life and who knows, you can still gamble and enjoy yourself.

If you are in the early stages of adulthood, you should focus on learning/ studying first and not go along with other activities that we know we can become addicted to, because it is possible to distract attention from learning and other things knowing that gambling  can easily influence other people especially if there is no self-control and is not responsible when it comes to life decisions. We can get involved in gambling if we already have our own source of income but we cannot take away our self for being responsible when it comes to decision making because that is a big factor to prevent us from becoming addicted to gambling especially when it comes to our spending habits.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your gambling life could affect your relatives lifes. on: May 22, 2024, 05:19:14 AM
Someone hooked on gambling might seem like they're making crazy choices, borrowing from loan sharks or even stealing. But imagine a powerful urge, like a riptide pulling you towards a dangerous wave. That's what addiction can feel like – overwhelming and hard to resist. It's not just about wanting money; it's about chasing that dopamine rush, the feel-good chemical in your brain that screams "more, more, more!" even when everything crumbles around you.

It is. And that is sad reality, in most times that the gamblers irresponsibility affects the life of the people around them. It is their family getting bothered by loan shark not them. It is their family being threaten by their debts, not them. That's why most family collapse or marriage people getting divorced. Hopefully this type of threads reached the people who needs this to reach their awareness and change something of their life. You are there to gamble and make money. Not to lose your mind and your family. So bet responsibly.

What is even more sad about this is that it seems that others are not interested in the consequences of their actions. Some people are ashamed of their relatives because they see the sufferings and shame they have caused them, while others are unconcerned and they even have the guts to be angry, like for real? You are the one who has brought the problem into the family but feels like you are still the one who is aggravated by the neglect you have made.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to maximize winning potential and control excessive gambling habits on: May 22, 2024, 04:43:10 AM
the importance of bankroll management in gambling allows gamblers to be able to gamble more wisely and responsibly. they can gamble more safely and at the same time they can manage their finances, so that gambling will not affect their other needs and it will prevent them from unhealthy and irresponsible gambling practices. indeed, it is not easy to manage a bankroll, since gamblers also need to exercise restraint and be wise with their money, but if they succeed in implementing this then they can gamble responsibly.

True, one of the important things about having a bank roll is to minimize the risk of losing or depleting other sources of funds, in that way, we learn to limit our gambling based on how much we have in our budget.
It can also help us to evaluate the gambling time we spend each time we gamble as well as tracking our spending habits and having a bank roll makes it easier to know when we should stop or continue gambling.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have some old BTC wallet from 2013 on: May 21, 2024, 10:31:53 AM
No sadly ne never talked about it or mentioned anything in regard to crypto. That is what it makes it strange.
~snip~

This is nothing strange, considering that the wallet is from 2013, it is possible that your friend invested some money in BTC then and completely forgot about it. Besides, it is not advisable to talk about such things, and maybe he was aware of that.

this is also the first thing that came to my mind, keeping the old wallet in his desktop, it means OP's friend is holding something, it's possible that he has an investment held there. When it comes to our investments, we usually don't even inform family members because they are considered as confidential things for me. The situation is difficult if the sudden disappearance of a person and then the investments or properties are not left to the families, it is quite difficult to recover especially since there is no other lead and there is no consent from the owner.
12  Economy / Economics / Re: The End of Credit/Debit Cards on: May 21, 2024, 10:10:41 AM
Have you ever wondered what the future of credit/debit cards will be once CBDCs (Central Bank Digital Currencies) go public? People will no longer need to use a plastic card to pay for goods and/or services, as everything will be done through a mobile (or desktop) app. This means people will directly interact with the central bank for deposits and/or withdrawals. No need for middlemen like Visa or Mastercard. At least, that's what I think it will happen.

Do you think credit/debit cards will still be a thing after the launch of CBDCs? If not, why? Will payment processors like PayPal, Visa, and Mastercard survive? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley
I don't think that Credit/Debit cards will become obsolete because of the introduction of CBDCs. People are already using phones and computers for banking transactions without intermediaries and it has not stopped the banks from issuing ATM cards. ATM cards have some special functions that will still make them relevant. In my country, there has been a recent increase in ATM use because POS are now popularly used for banking services.

ATM cards will be helpful when you don't have access to phones or computers. Sometimes there might not be a power supply to charge phones, ATM cards will be the only option to access funds. Operating an ATM might be simpler than using online transactions, so many people still favour ATM cards, especially in developing nations.

The introduction of CBDCs might gradually start reducing the use of ATMs because people might start migrating to CBDCs to cut transaction costs but it will take some time before it will start affecting them adversely. Many countries have not even adopted the CBDCs policy so there will still be a large market for these intermediaries for a long time.

Well said! if we assess it, it seems that it is impossible or it will take a long time for them to get rid of bank cards because of the new mode of transactions that they will release, besides not all people today have an internet connection when they go out, so sometimes the online/QR scanning cannot be used. payments. There are banks today that can withdraw even without a card using the cardless method, but it's rare that people use it because it's more convenient to have cards in our hands that we can tap or swipe all the time when needed.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino Gambling vs Sport Betting, Lets Discuss on: May 21, 2024, 09:45:49 AM
The first thing that people should know neither slots or sports, both of them aren't a way to make money.

Don't make it complicated, each person has it's own preference which game he want to gamble, as long as you're interested with the game, you can play any game you like including both of them.

Casino Gambling involves Playing games that are base on luck factor and sometimes our skills also work out in this, it does not involve live event.

I agree, Everyone are allowed to do both, maybe they just need to find out first where they can play or where their personality fits, because there are others who are not fans of sports so when they try sports betting they quickly get bored or lose their momentum, there are those who prefer sports betting because they have a supported team, something like that, no need to choose because it can be tried at the samw time.
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do some people hide to gamble on: May 21, 2024, 09:29:00 AM
~snip~

As for me, I really do understand why most people hide their gambling activities, because in some localities, gambling activities is being frown at, and when you are seen gambling, you will be seen as an irresponsible person that will eventually be made wretched by your gambling activities one day.

Like in my own locality, if you go into any of the local betting shop, almost all the people engaging in serious football betting activities are poor people's, because they See's it as a means of income, and the more they put in more effort, the more they are being wreck financially by it, and to tell you the truth, you will hardly see any rich person gambling with the intention of making money, because almost all rich people knows that it's not the best way of making money, they only do it for fun, it's mostly the poor people that sees gambling as a means of making money, so people most hide their gambling activities, so that they wouldn't lose respect, from people that respected them so much, because gambling is tag as irresponsible activities.
Why is it always hidden? Because reputation matters more than poker chips. However, the wealthy bet for fun, not survival. Very horrible joke. Less money means more gambling for a way out. Not just bad judgment, but desperation. These people are gambling with poverty. To be honest, casinos? Those damn vultures. They make billions off the desperate. New thinking is needed. Judge the system that pushes gamblers to the brink instead of the gambler. Calling them irresponsible is easy, but what about governments and society that leave them no choice

Well, it's true, one of the reasons why others choose to hide their engagement in gambling activities is because they don't want to ruin their reputation in the eyes of other people, we know that once they find out that you gamble, the first thing that comes to their mind are purely negative effects, especially the word "addicted" because other people can see what the effects of gambling are on people who cannot manage themselves when it comes to gambling. So in order to avoid ridicule from those they meet, they prefer to ignore it, that way they can gamble better without thinking about anything else but winning.
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Religion. Beliefs or Choices? on: May 21, 2024, 07:25:43 AM
There are some religions that have strict views on gambling, some considering it morally wrong. However, people still gamble for various reasons.

Have you ever faced any conflicts between your religious beliefs versus gambling? How it happen and how did you handle it?
How do different religions view gambling? What could be the reasons behind it?

I have never experienced any conflict when it comes to my gambling, connected to my religion because gambling is not prohibited in our country, but we still give advice and caution because many people end up with gambling addiction once we neglect our actions. I have acquaintances who are strictly prohibited from gambling and I am also aware of what religion that is, so I wonder why my acquaintances can gamble, even though it is strictly prohibited for them, that's when we can see how important it is or how much Is a person committed when it comes to religion?
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How has big wins and jackpot stories affected your gambling habit? on: May 21, 2024, 06:58:12 AM
we know that apart from the fun that some gamblers enjoy while gambling, the majority of others gamble basically because they want to make money from gambling, and in doing this, I have come to notice that gambling stories play a great role in determining if a gambler will reduce his gambling, go more aggressive in terms of the amount used in gambling or even quite gambling momentarily.

I've read and watched stories of people who hit a big jackpot and from a first-person point of view, the first thing that comes to mind is that " I wish I was the lucky person" and the effect of such an experience has always been to keep trying with the hope that I might get lucky to win my jackpot.

I just want to know, How have jackpot stories affected your gambling routine?

Have you ever increased the amount you normally used in betting just because someone you know won big by betting with a greater amount?

When I was new to gambling, I was like others who were inspired by the achievements of other gamblers, especially when I heard of someone winning a large sum of money. At that time, because I didn't know the struggles of those people how or how much they gambled for a long time before getting that jackpot price, There are times when I envy them so what happens is that I imitate their playing technique, it almost reached the point that I would give up a large amount just to win because that's what people usually do winning at gambling, but when it lasted, I realized that it shouldn't be like that because no matter how much we bet, if the opportunity to win is not for us, we won't really get it.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is boxing the worst sport to bet on? on: May 21, 2024, 05:07:02 AM
Any sport can be a worst to bet on depending on the hobby you are having and also the opinion that you have based on the actual situation of their federations.

IMO, there's no way to know if someone is telling the truth that they're corrupt because there's always the hidden secret and not-so secret turn of events from the call of the referees.

They shouldn't just call on the referee but also the judge or scorers if the fight ends with an unanimous decision.

Exactly! It really depends on where do you want to place your bet, Everything seems possible, sometimes our instincts or what we expect to win can be defeated depending on the flow of the game so we can't really be complacent even if we have memorized the tactics and strategy of the party we support.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When you are confident with your picks, do you win most of the time? on: May 20, 2024, 11:10:51 AM
It worked for you then does not mean that it will work for you again. Try it again and come tell us on this thread your result if it worked again for you. I believe that luck was what played out that that was why your instinct told you to bet in opposite of your picks.

Sometimes our luck comes from our inner mind spirit that will direct you on how to place the bet in order for you to win it, but the amount that you will use to place the bet will be your own personal decision. This is why you see that some gamblers use big amount and they become lucky to win very big and vice versa.

Hmmm sometimes if it works on you, it will work again when you try it for the second time, It depends on how luck attached on you. Sometimes, being a confident on your bets leads you to bet bigger amount on your next try which results you to overspending in gambling, the confident feeling that you've felt should assess accordingly because spiking up on your emotions will results you in the unexpected decisions that are made.
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does prediction in sport work for you? on: May 20, 2024, 10:51:04 AM
I don't rely on third party betting services and even though recently such advert have exist and became popular among gambler's most especially the telegram channels that promise sure odds and games predictions service, although I don't know if such offers work's, but what I am sure of is that, there is no way to have a 100% sure predictions at least not on regular basis.
For that, I can say that nothing like predictions sites and if any exist and demand for fees, you shouldn't give into to such possible scam attempt since sport bet is based of chances and luck to win them.

same here, I would rather follow my own instincts and assessment of the players than the flow of the match. It is difficult if we rely on the prediction of others because there is a big chance that you will blame it later when the prediction given by the other party is wrong. when it comes to demanding fees for the predictions they give, we should think about it because in reality it shouldn't be like that, they will only do fraud to make money even if there is no certainty of winning.
20  Economy / Economics / Re: Buying Vs Renting a Home- Which is the right move? on: May 20, 2024, 10:32:06 AM
Usually it is really that pertaining about real propery tax on which this is something that needs to be paid annually which do really sucks but if we do tend to see the amount then it isnt really that much.
This is why i dont really believe much about it to be an excuse for you to avoid on getting a house due to this very reason on which we know that this isnt something that could break your bank or would really be
that a huge amount for you to avoid on getting one. When it comes to amount or comparing and being that practical then we can say that having that renting will really be saving you up for long term in compared when building your own house on which we know that it wont come cheap. I dont know on whats the mindset of some people on why they do make out such consideration on making up such decision
but well we do have our own decisions in life on which we do seem that it would really be giving out that advantage to us on which its a common approach or decision that we do need up.
Basically property tax is nothing if you compare it to the rent, and when you are renting you should compare the rent price to loan you would have to pay. In a world where you need to pay 1100 dollars per month for mortgage, and about 100 per month on tax, that means 1.2k, if you are paying 2k on rent right now, that means that getting the home is a lot better and would make more sense.

However, once again, that all depends on if you can't use the money on something else that would make you even more money, if you could make even more money then I would say use it for something else and get rich, however if this is the best way to use your money then I would say it still makes sense because you are saving and still have an asset to show.

Having your own house is like a long term investment because as the time goes by, the value of a land appreciates just like in gold, so if you're having enough fund to use for downpayment of the land then go, you can have a housing loan with small interest and offers small monthly ammortization, in that way, you will exert an effort to work hard or to find additional income so that you will be having a money for your monthly bills and your money goes to your own property.
