101  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Ethconnect.com Scam. Made by the Vietnamese on: October 28, 2017, 02:08:48 AM
Ethconnect.com is a scam site. It was created by the Vietnamese. But they say that of Japan. Really very disappointed

Definitely a scam no doubt.

They are essentially a copy of bitconnect that is trying to pull off the same ponzi scam as bitconnect. Right now they may bring in a profit for the investor but in the end these coins will all collapse under the weight of themselves.

Good heads up for investors. Lots of similar projects recently.
102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Monetha - what to expect ? on: October 27, 2017, 11:34:45 PM
What u guys think of Monetha ?
Binance has Monetha and they REALLY care what they pick. So why is the Price so low ?

Good entry Point?

Or just a bad Project?

They have a lot of exchanges, yet they're less than 150th place on coinmarketcap.

This indicates to me that it is probably undervalued right now. If i remember correctly there were some big names involved with the business side of Monetha as well so it's not just some random project out of nowhere.
103  Economy / Reputation / Re: Campaign manager copying my threads/format on: October 27, 2017, 11:21:41 PM
Well, having a campaign manager is better than not having one at all. As long as he does the job to keep the forum clean of spammers and shillers, the layout of his OP is really just a secondary issue in my opinion.

However, the design and layout seems to be completely the same. He should have contacted you for permission to use them.

But this in my opinion is not neg-worthy. It is shady behaviour, however.
104  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: choice of hot online wallets on: October 27, 2017, 11:18:23 PM
With the hard fork approaching I saw bitcoin.org suggests to shun away from the hard fork adopters such as coinbase, blockchain and xapo? Any good online wallet to use?

Does anyone know those which online wallet those big exchanges such as bitstamp, kraken, bitffinex use? Do they use 3rd party hot wallet or they are using their own proprietary online wallet?

Keep your bitcoins in a wallet where you can control your own private keys. Something like electrum, armory, bitcoin core. That is the safest way to go about things. Blockchain.info has a sophisticated export procedure now and i wouldn't recommend them.

Never use a 3rd party when it's a hard fork coming up. You're putting too much trust in them for no reason.
105  Economy / Speculation / Re: Technical Analysis: Bitcoin Back to $6000 as Altcoins Stabilize on: October 27, 2017, 10:04:22 PM
Technical Analysis: Bitcoin Back to $6000 as Altcoins Stabilize
The cryptocurrency segment recovered following yesterday’s dip, but the performance of the major coins has been asymmetric once again...
http://thecoinsignals.com/technical-analysis-bitcoin-back-to-6000-as-altcoins-stabilize-d218.html

Right now, bitcoin is still around $200-$300 below the $6k mark as we speak. However by the end of today i think that we definitely have the opportunity to see bitcoin rise up to $6000 again, which in my opinion, is where it belongs.

The reason why it fell from $6000 to sub $6000 in the first place was the fact that bitcoin gold was priced in and the value was essentially taken away from bitcoin.

But now that they are independent coins, i think that we could see another bull round for btc.
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Total supply, circulating supply on: October 27, 2017, 09:49:25 PM
Thank you all for the prompt answers. The reason I am asking is that having a look at the https://coinmarketcap.com site, then using the circulating supply and the market cap one can find the price of a coin. Thus, one can estimate the future price based on estimations about the market cap and the circulating supply. And since the market cap is something that depends on the market but circulating supply does not depend on the market, then those who control circulating supply have great power/influance on the future price of the coins. Am I right or I have misundersood something here?

Nope. Circulating supply is the number of coins that are currently in circulation.

The total supply is the amount of coins that can EVER be in circulation. For bitcoin, there is a cap at around 21 million that can be never exceeded. But bitcoin's circulating supply on the other hand is only less than 20 million right now.

Nobody "controls" the circulating supply.

You are right about Bitcoin. Nobody controls its circulating supply. But there are some coins that their circulating supply is controlled by developers ( Most of the Ethereum based tokens that we see nowadays )

Yes, but they are not really coins.

Tokens are obviously special in the sense that the developers can essentially have control over the circulating supply. Still though i don't think it's like that - ERC20 tokens can't be created out of thin air and there are still predetermined maximums.

So circulating supply is still kind of decentralized, if you know what i mean.
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS - Asynchronous Smart Contract Platform - (Dan Larimer of Bitshares/Steem) on: October 27, 2017, 09:46:34 PM
Well don't expect any big pumps when the ICO is still ongoing, since the total supply is going to go up every single day and people can't just start pouring big amounts of ETH every single day into the coin.

But I do expect a big pump, just like Steem, when it launches.

Potentially could get EOS up to around 0.002-.003 btc per coin imo.
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitconnect, RegalCoin, HextraCoin or WesternCoin? on: October 27, 2017, 08:56:38 PM
Every single one of them are scam projects.

Basically the value of their coin is 0, apart from the fact that the devs of the project offer outlandish returns on investments. Essentially the cryptocurrency is not their actual product, the cryptocurrency does not do anything special. What makes their coins valuable is not the technical aspects but rather promises from the devs to double your money in a certain amount of time.

And that, is a classic ponzi scheme.
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does Bitcoin Gold have a block explorer? on: October 27, 2017, 08:51:26 PM
Well there aren't any block explorers listed on their official site nor on coinmarketcap. There is definitely ways to get block and transaction info without a block explorer but for the average user without any technical expertise it's going to be hard.

It's funny how they promise so much yet achieve so little. It's almost laughable.

I wonder how long people are going to hold this coin before just dumping it because devs screwed up.
110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Regulated ICO, should this become a norm? on: October 27, 2017, 08:39:40 PM
Hello folks, so just recently stumbled upon an article about an upcoming ICO which is trying to get itself regulated. Does it give a greater appeal to you as an investor? Maybe this should become a norm and ICOs should seek to get reasonably regulated themselves? Want to know your opinion on that.

You can read the article here: https://thebitcoinnews.com/moirai-prediction-market-become-one-first-regulated-icos/

Definitely. If an ICO is regulated by the financial department of whatever country that it is in, then it makes the process safer and more trustworthy for everyone. This should be a trend going into 2018, as some countries have banned ICOs outright.

However we'll still see plenty of unregulated ICOs.

The risk in those will be much bigger than regulated ones, htough.

112  Economy / Speculation / Re: Big News From China on: October 26, 2017, 08:59:42 AM
Big news from china🔼

https://www.huobi.pro/zh-cn/notice_detail/?id=651. Huobi, one of the biggest crypto exchange in China, will resume its operation at 12:00, 26th, October (China Time)

We are excited to announce that Huobi Pro will support Tether(USDT) trading pairs. USDT deposit and withdrawal is available from 18:00 October 24th,2017(GMT+8). And BTC/USDT and ETH/USDT trading will start at 12:00 October 26th,2017(GMT+8).

Nice to hear that some Chinese exchanges are actually resuming operations and their future isn't in total uncertainty anymore. This means that people in general will be more optimistic about bicoin's future and bump up teh price.

Especially Chinese investors, they will feel a lot less pressured to sell their bag as well.

This should be reflected in btc's price rises, i believe that we'll break $6k soon.
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Understanding the importance of HODLing - CMC 2016 vs 2017 on: October 26, 2017, 08:43:42 AM
Nice comparison.

Holding is going to be long term the best option for any cryptocurrency traders out there. Plain and simple, just because of the fact that you need to give altcoins time to perform. Nothing can happen overnight. Plus, day trades are way too tiresome and you need to work around the clock.

Just don't expect crazy returns to always happen, this pump has been crazy.
114  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Changelly vs Coinbase on: October 15, 2017, 03:30:40 AM
Hi,

I am a little confused about how changelly gives us the ability to buy bitcoins without an ID? Does this mean they are using someone like localbitcoins?
Howcome they dont need any id to buy and sell BTC? Are their rates much higher? Why does almost everyone use bitfinex to trade bitcoins and not something like changelly? In other words what does changelly actually do?

https://changelly.com/faq - I am referring to this .

Changelly isno doubt taking a huge risk by accepting VISA/mastercard deposits.

That is the primary reason imo why their rates are complete BS and isn't worth your time at all if you wanted to convert your debit card funds into bitcoin. You can be easily stuck paying a sizeable premium of over 20% with them.

Coinbase on the other hand has better rates, but needs ID so that chances of fraud are significantly lowered.
115  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: "Double-spending tool for Dummies" :) - it never was so easy before on: October 15, 2017, 03:23:13 AM
I remember there was an old site that essentially did the same thing, apart from i think you don't actually hold your private keys. Link is here but seems to be down at the moment.

Is your service essentially the same as that site's?

As regards to using this to commit fraud, these days not many sites even accept zero conf transactions even with high fees anymore. nobody is dumb enough to accept 0 conf transactions. So its not really an issue.
116  Economy / Speculation / Re: At It Again: Dimon Breaks Vow, Says Bitcoin Buyers Are Stupid on: October 15, 2017, 12:43:16 AM
Looks like Dimonds recommendation works opposite way,he is not any kind of trader, his whale lost 3 bln dollars in 15 min on derivative trading. As long he has negative views btcis rising,if he will change his mind maybe it will be like red flag

Yeah, the thing is that he thinks his daughters are being cocky just because they made some profits on bitcoin. This is just completely BS. His daughters have probably made better percentage returns than his entire company.

His words have no effects on bitcoin price now. Price is still going strong.

Nobody should take him seriously.
117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still support Ethereum? on: October 15, 2017, 12:22:37 AM
I can't name any other coin/token, which failed more times than ETH. It's not about loving or hating it, it's all about people losing money, because of situations which can be avoided. I would care less if these ETH based projects were not asking money from the masses, but that's not the case. And believe me when I'm saying that Ethereum has some powerful lobbyists. Otherwise its price would be probably 1/5 from the current one.

Didn't we had enough of this?

I'm not sure, never been fond of ethereum personally and still isn't.

But i think the community has matured a lot and it's probably a much better time to accumulate now compared to June-July when everyone was hyping about Ethereum. Still though, ETH probably has no real life uses other than being a platform for ICOs.

I wouldn't go all in with ETH, since it's already climbed so much. I'd at least wait for the dip.
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [REC] RegalCoin Visa Card. Will it get BIG???? on: October 15, 2017, 12:17:26 AM
it is another ethereum dark scam coin. Pump an dump.... now it is in pump phase....

Seems like it. A bit like the bitconnect scam as well.

Just because something has a prepaid debit card, doesn't mean that it is legit. Anyone, they don't even have to be an incorporated company, can issue prepaid debit cards through multiple card issuers. If you actually took a look at their site, you're realize how crazy their claims are.

They say that you can get up to 540% yearly, which is crazy. This is not sustainable.
119  Economy / Goods / Re: CigsSpot.com - original cigarettes for low price on: October 14, 2017, 11:15:56 PM
Do you ship to every country or what are the countries that are exempt from shipping?

I mean rates are pretty good for cigarettes, much better than the ones in my country(which are heavily taxed). The i'm not sure whether the package will be able to make it through customs without any issues, or not.

Please let me know, thanks.
120  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC hit $5600+ on: October 14, 2017, 11:14:05 PM
BTC is huge increase $5600+
i have 3BTC now what can i do SELL or HOLD?
Please suggest me
your best recommended drop below

I'd say sell half and then hold the rest.

I believe that price could reach upwards of $6.5k by the time the hard fork comes, but directly before the hard fork there could be an adjustment that takes price in a downwards spiral. So to be safe, cash out half, and hold the other half for more profit.

Don't get greedy and hold all, unrealized profits are not profits at all.
