101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Halving Making Me Wonder on: April 23, 2024, 12:29:31 AM
I was panicking when I had of the upcoming bitcoin Halving because I wasn't well educated about the halving and I read about it through online resources, still I wasn't okay, so I just relax to experience the fort bitcoin Halving as they say and after the bitcoin Halving I didn't really see a significant change apart from a little drop in price! I was happy that the halving has come and gone.

Today i was just analyzing the chart and it looks like #Bitcoin is about to print new highs! I was smiling and not quiet long I carried out a transaction, I did not believe my eyes, I was devastated, the whole of my bitcoin was gone for transaction fee.

And I began to wonder is this what the Bitcoin Halving is all about???
The demand will go up because supply is dwindling, basic law of supply and demand. And it's good that you have experience your first halving, some of us here are very excited when we see it the first time. But the thing is that the transaction fees are so high because there are some individuals who want their inscriptions on the particular block (but that is another day for discussion). So with that, I will just advise you to HODL and not sell because of the high transaction fees, if you can then still accumulate as much as you can and wait till we reach the top price or what we call all time high (ATH).
102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 22, 2024, 06:50:33 AM
Haney-Garcia lived up to its hype. Full of drama and some questionable decisions. Most if not all were expecting Haney to easily dominate Ryan Garcia. What was more unexpected though was when Ryan Garcia landed a huge left hook that badly hurt Haney in the very first round. It changed the tempo of the whole fight. Haney was still winning the next rounds but he remained unstable and Ryan already found his range and is just waiting for his opportunity again.

It's just annoying how the referee was helping Haney a lot. He never deducted a point on Haney for the countless hugs. There were times he interrupted when Haney is hugging while Ryan's hands were free. But he let Haney punch when Ryan is the one clinching. One judge also tried to rob Ryan of a clear win. And corrupt WBC still retained Haney as its champion when it should've been declared vacant because he failed to defend it.

Obviously sure they wanna rob the kid. The judge scored a Draw for that fight despite the countless knockouts, its ridiculous but you would understand that they worked together to nail Ryan. If he doesn't participate the way like they should I guess the WBC will take back the money.

And Haney whipped out this bad, I don't think he can request an immediate rematch. But Tank warned Haney from the start that Ryan does have a fast hand, he didn't listen.
Lol, but yes, the referee has been heavily criticized in the social media, specially when Haney was hugging Ryan and he should at least count 1 more knockout. And when Haney was hugging for dear life and Ryan separated himself and then throw a punch, the ref deducted a point. And then one judges saw it a draw, that's 3 knockdown, reminds of Manny Pacquiao vs Marquez wherein Manny should have won that fight in the strength of his 3 knockdown. Nevertheless, the other two judges give to Ryan, which for us should be right score in this fight. So as per Oscar, Ryan now is the face of boxing, even though he doesn't have a belt on his waist. But the kind knows how to promote a fight and putting fans in their seat. Will be interesting to see the live gate numbers as there are reports that the tickets is not sold out.
103  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: April 22, 2024, 06:17:50 AM
It's hard for Haney to become better than Mayweather because he lacks the power. Mayweather was a knockout artist during his younger years as a champion. Haney has zero knockouts and stoppages when he became a world champion. It's just difficult for light punchers to keep climbing weights because opponents are getting bigger and they can risk of getting hit just to land their own power shots.

Ryan while being over 3 pounds overweight was battling not just Haney but also the referee, the judge and there's also corrupt WBC not following the tradition of vacating the belt.
I agree, Floyd at 135 lbs was very different, start of the prime years of Mayweather, who wouldn't forget how he destroys Chico Corrales (RIP). And at 140 lbs, Haney still has no chin and with the power Ryan had at this weight, Haney can't handle it. The style though of Haney might have been pattern after Floyd, but then again, Floyd is way ahead of his time. Oscar says in the post-fight that Garcia can fight at catch-weights, as it seems the question is about him and Tank for a rematch. Garcia is really intelligent if he targets Fundora because I think he is the "weakest" of the Super Welterweight champion. I disagree though of what Derrick James says on Haney, that he can't return because of how Garcia beat him. Haney have learn a lot of lessons here and for sure he can box again and before he forget there is no belt on the line as Ryan come in overweight.
104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Countdown to the 4th Bitcoin halving.. what should we expect? on: April 20, 2024, 08:06:36 AM
Excited but it's not that exciting anymore compared before because you know, you have the idea on how it is going to do after several months of wait.

Doing DCA a few months ago will certainly provide more benefits, it will look bigger when the new ATH is reached.
This is the exciting part.

Waiting for how high Bitcoin is going to be after the halving, it's all set that we'd see a new ATH although we've seen it already before halving comes.
And the effect will not be immediately felt, it will take several months after the halving that the price will take on dramatic rise, and we could be seeing like at least 6 digits for this halving. One thing to note though, after this halving, the transaction fees has increase so much. This could be that just miners pulling the plug, or it's because of the Runes protocol, not sure about that. Nevertheless, if we take out that issues, yeah, pretty much we area all looking as what to be the new all time high. So far the price is stable at $64k-$65k. And good now for those who have DCA for years, and so they could just have sit down and relax and see how everything goes. Or better yet, just continue to accumulate even if we are in the bullrun.
105  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin halving, how low the price can be? on: April 20, 2024, 07:16:55 AM
Next month will be Bitcoin halving, how far can the price go down? or how high can the price go up?
Since it reached the price of 73,777, I assumed that the price reduction would not reach below 59,000. The price of 59k is the price of a recent decline and I will never be able to guess how far the decline will occur even though I have an assumption that it will not occur under 59k.

So the case with how high the price will later be because I still hold the principle that the price of Bitcoin can reach the point unexpected. But in the Halving period this time, I am optimistic that the increase in Bitcoin prices could reach 100K - 130K in 2024.
Halving is completed now, price is stable around $64k-$65k, so that's good enough for us and did reach $73k pre-halving. Now we can see that at least for this month the lowest is $59k, but the lowest low for this bear market is $15,500 with the FTX collapse. Now, we look forward at the end of the year as halving is done. We shift our focus on now not low the price will be, but how big we gonna get at the start of the bull run. Again, pre-halving is $73k, so at least this year, I'm looking at around $100k at least and then the biggest will be next year when we hit our peak and it could be around $150k'ish or higher.
106  Economy / Speculation / Re: Iran strikes Israel. Crypto crashing heavily... on: April 19, 2024, 12:56:44 PM
There was a report that Israel has striked back.

Share Message - Israel-Iran live updates: Israeli missile has struck Iran, US officials say - BBC News
https://www.bbc.com/news/live/world-middle-east-68830092

Bitcoin again after the news decreased below $60000. But in the last 45 minutes, bitcoin increased above $65000. Presently at $64320.
Not sure if this is true, but if it then why the price of Bitcoin goes up to now $65k? Is this due to the incoming halving, or the war itself has nothing to do with our market but it's that the news was just in the background and no one can stop Bitcoin from increasing pre-halving? Just 73 blocks away, less than 12 hours, and finally we will see the halving and it seems that we will be green at least this time. Let's just hope though that the war between Israel and Iran will not fully escalated into a ww3, perhaps just a show of each strength and teeth but nothing else so that lives will be save.
107  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Nery For Undisputed 122lbs Title - May on: April 19, 2024, 11:29:48 AM
^^ He had a good promoter already, had the blue print to make him successful because he is the one who carried Manny Pacquiao to greatness. But it seems that Bob Arum is being overpowered by the Japanese manager and Arum doesn't want any strife for now that's why he let it be that Inoue fights in Japan.

But there will be time that Arum should insists from Inoue and his camp to move to the US to fight at least once a year. It's not that bad plan to begin with and obviously it will carry a lot of money as well like how Arum carefully guided Manny Pacquiao's career.
There's probably a plan about that already, Bob Arum would certainly want to maximize his money on Inoue but they are just taking it slowly. Inoue is still in his prime and maybe the next time he'll move up in weight, that's where they'll need Bob Arum to do his job.
Yes, but I think Arum should really make Inoue fight in the US. I mean he had sign him in 2019, so that is already 5 years ago and maybe that contract will be up and not sure if Inoue will sign with him again. So that is the difficult part of Arum side, what if Inoue didn't re-sign and opted to go for Matchroom for example.

Let's be patient, maybe after this fight, Inoue will realize that he is ready to move up as he had already dominated the super bantamweight division. I can see the list of champions in the higher division, they aren't even as popular as Inoue, so I'm sure we will see the same scanario like in his current division.
He had dominated 2 weight class already. But yeah, the true test will be at 126 lbs and we understand why he is reluctant to go up in that weight class as they say that they are going to stay here and defend the belts starting with Nery.
108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: April 19, 2024, 08:46:01 AM
Do not be tricked by this boycott. This is only part of another marketing roadmap that they use to make more people more curious for this fight hehehe. I reckon that after King Ry's loss against Tank Davis, he needed to create a new personality for himself to make the fans react and talk about Ryan. This boycott implies that it is working! I very much wish Ryan will reach the decision and make the fight a split decision. This will certainly make fans question the capability of Devin Haney.

nice catch @bbc.reporter ... that's just certainly a marketing strategy.. why would someone wants it boycotted when it's not even selling well? They just want that fight to gain more attention so the tickets will be sold. This will be happening few days from now, so that could be a desperate marketing strat from their promoters. Anyway, we don't need to wait longer, the outcome of this fight will dictate the future of Ryan, because if he loss, he'll go back again and will try to create another hype until his strategy will not work.
Of course, but if this guy part of their marketing ploy? If you have followed him on Twitter, he is a obvious troll and everyone including Crawford was responding to Ray Jackson. But as far as the tickets goes, we will see, Oscar again is saying otherwise in the press conference and tell us that almost all tickets have been sold except for a few. Anyhow, we are almost here now, despite the trash talk, the lack of selling sales and other way they promoted this fight, still boils down to this two inside the ring. Both are very confident but Garcia is still a huge betting underdog.
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Meme coins at it again, Another about to go up ? on: April 18, 2024, 09:20:32 PM
Amidst the market declining in the cryptocurrencies market, I stumbled upon $EPIK on x trending and make some quick DYOR on it and came to conclusion that.

EPIK is a new meme token on the Solana blockchain launched on April 6, 2024 featuring a unique and playful duck character, gaining increasing popularity. with $34.91M Market cap

If $EPIK reaches $WIF current market cap, its price would be $2.89. That makes 50x from Launch! is this another WIF ?
Not sure if this is some form of shilling or what, but we have been hearing about Solana lately and it's one of the hottest crypto right now. But in any case, this is meme coins as you have define it, so it could be just another pump-and-dump scheme and the first in line should make a lot of money. So goodluck, I mean there are investors not liking meme coins or just be conservative on not just throwing their hard earn money and just invest on the solid coins in the top of the market. Nothing is wrong with investing on meme coins, but if you don't know what you are doing, you might be swept with this hype and the next thing you know, you are down and can't get out of it unless you are willing to loss some money, just saying.
110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Updated 2024 NBA Championship Odds on: April 18, 2024, 02:27:02 PM
I think it is going to come down to either the Nuggets or the Timberwolves for the championship. I really don’t think anyone in the East will be able to win it all unless they’re facing a team suffering from injuries. The Suns and Lakers are dark horses too, and if I had to pick someone in the East I’d say the Bucks if they can keep Giannis on the court or possibly the Celtics if Porzingis surprises with his play.
Nuggets is the defending champion, and so in the West even if we have teams like the OKC which is a big surprise or the Wolves, I think the Nuggets has the advantage in their division. Jokic is still one of the best player in the league and it's going to be a close fight between him, Luka or Tatum for the MVP. For me the dark horse is Mavs, with Luka doing some insane numbers + Irving who seems to have resurrected his career when we thought that him and Luka are a bad marriage. For the East, still the Celtics, the Bucks could be a contender, but it's a different team now and Dame is not the same one when he was in the Blazers uniform.
111  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 18, 2024, 01:17:30 PM
Yes, that's basically what happen, Kings are strong and there's no way the Warriors can keep up with them.
Both teams are strong and are on the same level, the reason why both are in the play-in.
Maybe the Warriors just had a very bad game, but since it's a do or die game, their chance has now been over.

Now, they are going to face the Pelicans and without Zion, the Pels chances are slim. But as what we say, the ball is round so who knows. The Pels still have the home court advantage here.
I can't be too overconfident even if the Pelicans doesn't have Zion. Remember that the Kings doesn't have Monk and Huerter as well, so they are even.
Zion has been great but everyone needs to step up as they need to protect their home court, a win here will give Zion more time to rest and who knows, he might be able to come back in the series against the OKC Thunder.

But it seems the discussions is with the Lakers vs Nuggets, in terms of depth it looks like the Lakers has the advantage with their starter fight and players coming off from the bench. But they will have to face the defending champion and a former MVP and a high basketball IQ in Jokic.
I don't see the having the advantage as in this season, they haven't won a single game.
Look at their history of games record ; https://www.covers.com/sport/basketball/nba/matchup/298382
Everyone needs to be healthy as this point, one superstar missing could be very big specially if Zion will not play. We can't compare Monk and Huerter missing, of course they are part of the bench, but it terms of impact, Zion could be a equivalent of Sabonis or Fox. Monk is their 6th man, so the bigger impact is that Zion missing the game. And it will be at the advantage of the Kings now. Sacramento is now the slight favorite as far as betting currently, at 1.8x against the Pels without Zion at 2.0x. Ingram is on limited minutes and CJ hasn't had that breakthrough game. Lakers is almost 3:1 underdog in game 1 against the Nuggets.
112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: April 18, 2024, 10:29:33 AM
And so with the tickets not selling, Ryan has to go troll Haney again with this kind of words, Lol,

https://twitter.com/RyanGarcia/status/1780276293021372912

Ryan though, you really don't know what's inside of that mind. There were moments he look serious and everything he says is good. Then majority are like this one, most likely he just want to be controversial and to create more hype because if the news is true that they are not selling tickets, then he has to do something to carry the load and bring it to the masses or at least put some noises again.

Just when you think Ryan Garcia can’t get anymore cringeworthy, he comes out with a dumb statement like this. These guys are only turning fans away from boxing with these antics. The way they are promoting this fight has been disastrous. It is no wonder there are still so many tickets available. Ryan needs to be psychiatrically evaluated before he is allowed to fight for a world championship.
I agree, the more he promoted this fight with his absurd actions, the more fans might not want to see. I even saw those fans online saying that they are going to boycott the fight? Like this,

https://twitter.com/RayJack97010720/status/1780637091266801928

Although that fan is a troll as well for all I know, it could be true that there could be fans not wanting to buy tickets because of Ryan Garcia's antics. I think they will be evaluated physically and mentally, it's just the question whether he could pass the test or not.
113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Short term Investors feeling cool with the centralized Blockchains on: April 18, 2024, 09:43:49 AM
Meanwhile... Due to the high rate of transactions fees, I can perceive it that lot of short term Investors would tend to have their assets stored in a Centralized blockchain for easy transactions in other to minimize transaction charges because they believe once they hits probably at the upcoming bull-run they would sell off their assets without holding for a long term.
They would actually ignore the fact that it is not about how long your assets stays in a particular blockchain that can get it comprised but base on how unlucky the investors can be despites how conscious they can be with their seed phrases.
This is just short term though, yeah we have months wherein the fees are high but it goes down to normal again. So I wouldn't risk my holdings for just a few bucks for the transaction fees. Security and privacy is still important. For newbies this might be the case, but it's better to learn early that it's not safe to put our bitcoin in a centralized regardless on how "SAFU" it is. And this is the wrong mentally, we have heard horror stories of people accounts getting hack from exchanges, and we don't want to be the next victim as we approach the halving. Put it in a wallet that we have control, then if you need to cash out something then that is the time to send it to centralized exchange to trade.
114  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin way forward - Towards $100k or $50k on: April 17, 2024, 01:43:58 PM
Current market conditions are quite confusing because usually when approaching the halving, the Bitcoin price will continue to move up. However, it can be said that the price of bitcoin is currently tending to fall, and my observation is that the price of bitcoin has been stuck in the range of $60k-$70k for a long time. In which direction the bitcoin price moves after this will determine where the next bitcoin price moves, $50k or $100k.
No, before the halving, we might experience down downside, or what others call the last leg before the actual bull run that is going to happen right after the halving. So it's not that confusing if you have been in the market for quite sometime now. On the other hand, this is what majority is expecting and then they will have to take advantage of it buy buying some or for those whales, maybe getting more. And it's obvious that we will not see $50k, we are still above $60k, and so that is good enough price before the halving itself. For us to reach $100k, it should be after the block halving as the supply is going down but the demand is keeping up and there could be government or institutions that are going to invest in the following years to push the price to a six digit.
115  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Man Arrested for distributing and selling Hive RAT Malware on: April 17, 2024, 12:53:13 PM
Still a long way to go for authorities to catch up with this criminals. It's either state sponsored, which is likely very hard to arrest, or just a couple of group of individuals who's motive is to steal from unsuspecting victims. The legal system though of the US is complicated, I mean he could just point to the person in Australia and become a while blower to save face and he will likely be getting a light sentence. And this is just a drop in the ocean, as we all know that cyber criminals are being born from around the world, and target not only cryptocurrency, but everything their hand can get to make money and uses the data that they will get as a ransom.
116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Nery For Undisputed 122lbs Title - May on: April 17, 2024, 12:06:55 PM
The improvement that I meant to be is how he could sustain that ability of not having any loss for such a long time. We can't predict certain situation or scenario to be consistent in this world, even pacman has lost in his fights if you're going to review the history of his boxing career. What I appreciated with Innoe is his humble answers for admitting that couldn't go further on that division but who knows someday he'll try to come up to that point of trying to level up himself just like Manny had.
That is not improvement though, on the other hand it will look bad for him if he wants to keep that undefeated record and just fight in Japan. He is already the best fighter coming from Japan and he shouldn't be concern of that because it's like the golden age of Japan boxing as they have a lot of belt holders. If Inoue wanted to raise the bar for Japanese fighter then it is to go out and fight in the US. And if he successfully defend his belt against Nery this May and if he decided to move up in weight class, what a better way to do it that fighting in the US at the featherweight division.
117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 17, 2024, 11:08:02 AM
5 minutes left on Q4.

Safe to say congrats in advance to the Sacramento Kings. So in the first round of the playoffs, we'll see Thunders vs Kings.

That wasn’t the greatest second half, but it is always a good night when the Kings light the beam. A bit of a shame Klay had such a bad night in what was likely to be his last game in a Warriors uniform, but that’s the way it goes sometimes.

I think the Kings have a real shot at beating the Thunder, but I believe they still have to get through the Pelicans first.

Yeah, very poor performance for the Warriors, they work hard in their last couple of games to stay at the 10th spot and facing the Kings, they have a great chance to win. But the Kings lock them up in this game and there's no denying that the dynasty is over.

Klay Thompson, the other part of the splash brothers are no where to be found in this important game. So congrats to those who back up the Kings here.

Yeah we can say that this is not the Warriors what we see for past years. They play so bad and their gunner which is Klay Thompson is totally a messed on that game. Maybe this will be the end of Dynasty since for sure Warriors management would not let this to happen again and they are showing that they are not interested to give a max contract for Klay so provably that we can see Thompson to play on different team next season.

I thought they can take the lead when Kings is down to 4 and Warriors starting to get the momentum but their hopes has been down when Kings offence accelerate and they didn't give Warriors a chance to recover.

This is big win for Kings so congrats to them, fans and also for people who win on their bets.
And it's gonna be hard if you are a Warrior fans for Klay to not score in their most important game and not help the team at all. And this might be the last time to see the 3 together as his performance here could mean a lot for the Warriors to offer him a good contract. But it is what it is, end of dynasty. While on the other hand Keegan Murray scored 29 points. And he step up again in this game, becoming the 2nd or 3rd option or even their 1st for their offense. But it's not done yet, they have to travel to Pelicans homecourt and get another win so that they can be in this playoff. I think the momentum is with them now as Zion might not play.

It is also very head shaking that the boxing fans in this forum are more excited to watch an old man fight against a youtuber from Disney. I am like this also hehehehehe. Boxing should use more money to promote fights between the best boxers of the highest ranks. However, I reckon this sport is presently not on being the best boxer anymore. This has become a sport for attention and money only. It is difficult for the fans to witness who is the best in this sport.
Boxing is a business now, we have promoters very greedy and wanted millions in every fight and so it trickle down to the boxers themselves. Floyd has started it, separating from Bob Arum and become the promoter himself. And so it sets up the blue print of the next generation and then trying to protect their 0 (like what he did to Davis career), and not facing the best unless they are going to be satisfied on how much money they will get. But we have the Saudi's though being the mediator of big fights and every promoter and boxers dream to be in that space because of the rich oil money flowing into our sports.
119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 16, 2024, 09:41:03 PM
Kings vs. Warriors
This one will be a close matchup. Looking back at the last three games of these teams, the only lead of the winning team is a point, and their season head-to-head matchup is tied, with Warriors winning the first two games and Kings winning the last two. The Kings will be missing the service of Malik Monk and, on the other hand, Gary Payton III for the Warriors. Kings having the home advantage is an edge for them. This is really a close call, but I can see the Kings winning this one because this is just a one-game knockout, but if it is a series, I can see the Warriors winning.
I thought that the Warriors has the winning percentage against the Kings this season, maybe I was till thinking of last year when the Warriors schooled the young and inexperienced Kings in the playoff. But still, the betting public see that the Warriors are going to win, it could be a very close match up again as their previous games as just separated by 1 point. However, with this kind of magnitude, Curry and those veterans are going to give the Kings a great fight. And they have some young players that can inject their youth like Kuminga and Trayce Jackson-Davis. So I will also tend to lend on the Warriors here.
