I think it was an error - someone wanted to buy 1 billion coins, not pay 1 billion for a coin.

I'm sure appropriate lawyers have already answered this, but would the Californian courts hold any jurisdiction over a UK incorporated company (and/or directors) and the NZ main entity? What action could this court realistically impose on the company?
Its AU/NZ, our governments bend over goatse style for America. Now if only we were talking about downloaded mp3s or movies - FBI with NZ police would have already raided these guys.

I have to somewhat agree with the OP. With pirate's BTCST in place if you bought 10k bitcoins at $5 and you invested 100% of that with pirate you would have 20k bitcoins by now.
I believe much of the ramp could (not necessarily is) but could be a biproduct of people wanting to buy btc low and as the USD price rises not only do they get more bitcoins but each bitcoin is worth more USD.
Unsustainable in my opinion.
Just my take...
someone on another thread calculated that they would need $10,000 a month to retire comfortabley on they then calculated that by giving pirate 379 BTC the compounding interest in a very short time would equal retirement if thats not crazy enough for you ,heres another one : if pirate continues to pay this interest for about 18 months he will have paid out moe than all the bitcoins in the world INCLUDING the ones that havent been mined yet and wont be mined for years So in theory he can run this ponzi for ~1 more year then pack his bags and disappear ? Sigh, I hate slow burn drama's.

1 - the ability to put your key in 2 different geographically separate places to protect them from snooping/theft. example, I might put one half in my safety deposit box and keep the other half at home, so someone from the bank who happens to gain access to my safety deposit box doesn't get my bitcoins. That can be done much simpler ways. For example, you can literally separate the key bits in half. You can also generate a random sequence the same length as the key, and store that along with the key XORed with that. 2 - the ability to have 2 separate machines generate a single key, so even if one or both machines is compromised, the resulting key is not. (Example: Smartphone + Computer). All that matters is that both machines aren't compromised by the same person or someone with the ability to access both halves. Any scheme that doesn't involve storing the private key on a single device has this property. simple and freaking ingenious, Im sold edit: pull out a pair of scissors ffs and problem solved

kk, in response to the chip cancer stuff, people neednt worry about it to much. when stuff browns (im not talking about charred and crunchy) that's a natural process called the Maillard reaction, and all that brownness brings out a bunch of tasty chemicals (natural chemicals, like sugar). that's why fried stuff is always gold and tasty. sure, there are some potential carcinogens present depending on what youre cooking and a million other factors, but it's far less dangerous than other commonplace things like shampoo, raw pork, or crystal meth.
So you have tested exactly THESE chips and can confirm that they contain low/not dangerous levels of Acrylamide? Even commercial products had ranges from nearly 2mg per kg down to 47µg per kg ( http://foodwatch.de/foodwatch/content/e10/e5281/e9192/e9210/e16571/Chipstest_2008_Tabelle_20080715_final_ger.pdf, german) a few years ago. After some bad press "suddenly" Pringles managed to cut their Acrylamide levels by a huge amount. Looking at your example pics (which might be badly lit) makes me wonder if these chips were either seasoned with soy sauce or badly burnt - I regularly fry my own potato chips and they more or less look and taste like store bought ones (only that they are a bit thicker, are without any additives and can be seasoned to taste), not dark brown. What actually also works quite well is to cook the chips before frying - something that is also usually done with french fries too (McDonalds fries are cut, cooked, shock frozen and then fried on demand). we need a new sub forum, Cooking with bitcoin ! Id sub that

@gweedo @Sergio_Demian_Lerner
Tnx for your input, providing a new address to a user and understanding the different address per transaction is not a problem - I just would like to send bitcoin back to the same address where it came from instead of asking the user for a generated address from their wallet.
he wants a satoshidice style payout system I believe. Im not sure how they do it (abe ?) but I do know you can look up the information using the blockchain.info json api

NaturalOrder8... Seals is a great site with rep to match. On the other hand... You are verbally abusive and demanding. Try patience. Breathe. Be kind. +1 Im trying to be fair here and see both sides (Im a ~4 month old seals user and a big fan) but it is hard with one side screaming and the other side handling it 'like a Sir'. State your case clearly and calmly and people will listen and may even be able to clear up this issue if you are willing to listen I say this like its easy to do, its not and I have made ass of myself many a time when calmer heads would have prevailed.

The game is provably fair - they mention it in the FAQ and even provide their formula. I have crunched 1 of my TX's (randomly selected) so far to confirm and the results were what I expected (in preparation for being moved out of pending in the gambling list).
Looking at the formula used it is impossible for them to weight it (unless they manually send out all payments), they could try selecting a secret that leans 1 way or the other using previous bets to judge the weight, but should any player pick the way the table leans they could exploit it to their advantage.
What is this gold colour you speak of ? I see red black and green.
Re-read the subject of this thread. There's no mention of provability in the faq, just how to deposit and withdraw, and what new features are planned. Are you thinking of satoshiroulette.com? In this thread we're talking about satoshiwheel.com. Whoops, Ive been mixing up these 3 a bit now - I can see this will only get worse. SD,SR,SW for shorthand ?

are the odds the same for spinning a gold vs all the other colors?
I'd like to know that too. Is the wheel 'fair', or is it weighted more towards black and less towards gold? Do you plan to make a "provably fair" version of the game, like how SatoshiDice and bitZino are, so we can be absolutely sure you've not cheating? The game is provably fair - they mention it in the FAQ and even provide their formula. There is an alternative to SatoshiDice, it's BTCDice(.com), which is a S.D. clone but seems to pay out much faster and as far as I know hasn't had any problems paying out bigger payments. I'm still waiting on 46 bitcoins from SD which was over a month ago, so I've given up on them and made the switch to BTCDice.
If SD wants to pay me back the 46 bitcoins they owe me, then I would think about switching back to SD. Probably never going to get those back. IMO, SD should be listed as (not always paying back), but that's just my personal opinion.
SatoshiDice has paid back every bet sent to it. The only exception is bets which come from addresses that the player cannot access (ie - they send from gox, and gox doesn't send the bet from their account address, so it gets lots in the void - thus the warning on the front page). Please post details of your alleged 46 bitcoins, and I'll get it sorted for you. But frankly I think you are mistaken. Yes i to would like to see the outcome of this 2nd claim. I have never heard of it previously and I try to monitor the gambling forums very closely (when time permits).

rockxie on 2012-07-30 alerted satoshidice to a non payout of 50btc (other users since have also had issue). It is now 2012-8-2 4 days after Rockxies initial contact attempt. For this reason Satoshidice has been moved to the unattended section of my list - I recommend all players to be wary until we see a resolution. In future, any site that has ~5 days of no answer to players while be shifted back to unattending. The site will have a pending trial again which will be double the amount of time the site was unattended (currently 8 days for SD and growing). I regret to announce this bad news and hope to see SD up and running 100% ASAP. Have been moving across country the past few days. Looking into this now, expect a response soon. Great news I hope to hear from a happy rockxie soon I shall update the notes accordingly shortly.
