1021  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Dreamcoin [DRM] - X11 - PoW/PoS on: May 26, 2014, 02:30:00 AM
I kind of liked doing something that would have had an impact and involved a niche community.  The niche community is important because they can spread information amongst themselves and are more likely to take it seriously/act upon it as opposed to not.

Dream vacations are done by so many different companies and we never hear about the winners.  Nor is there necessarily any interaction amongst raffle ticket holders.  It's just a random assortment of people who get drawn into a frenzy and then dissipate when they didn't win...

There is a difference regarding how people continue to interact with DRM in both scenarios and in my opinion the former had much more long term promise.  The article I referenced also shows a real appreciation for the strategy of networking and marketing to new people.

My two DRM's...

Currently, there is a new developmental team being formed to continue the DreamCoin project, and other positions are being filled as well. Marketing and networking will be a key factor in the revival of DreamCoin if you ask me.

Ever since this rally began, the trading volume of DreamCoin on the Poloniex exchange has increased by 1300%, from 2 Bitcoin to 27 Bitcoin in just 24 hours. DreamCoin is far from dead at this stage.

We at CryptoArticles would like to offer a helping hand to the DreamCoin community by publishing articles when important events or updates take place. The Crypto community needs to unite, because there is strength in numbers.

This was written this morning.  My emphasis because I thought it was a pretty good synopsis of what we were discussing from last night.

Just tossing it out there.  I gained a lot of information in a short amount of time regarding the possible project and I'll just store it in case there is use for it somewhere down the line.

+1

Edit to add - I have already begun compiling information; I have a nice list of people including someone who raised 29,000 signatures to change Quebec city ordinance to make front lawn gardens specifically legal after a a couple was faced with $100-300 daily fines for a lawn that was over 30% garden.  Very Proactive despite the issue being a year and half old.

Also - We need to update the website with the new information as well so there is a user friendly place for front lawn gardeners to get their information should we commit to this direction...

I will address the anon features again.
as previously stated that is a future plan. Not an immediate plan.
I am watching the development of these features on other coins. Some think first mover is the one that wins. I think first movers have first issues and wish to avoid any unforeseen problems that may arise as it is uncharted territory.
Please have patience with these types of developments. I do not make false promises and feel our better focus at this time is community growth and market share.
Myfarm and others have put forward awesome ideas. Public awareness of crypto and Dreamcoin specifically should be our spotlight of concern.
We have made good progress in pulling Dreamcoin back. We are not dead in the water or dying.
Thank you to all who have been part of this rescue, without you this coin would surely have sank.
It is an honor to be lead of such a community and look forward to what we can do.

There you go, ifightformerkel...

Good deal.  Just don't contact them yet.  Begin compiling that information but let us get the website and other stuff updated first.

No worries....-thumbsup-

I intended on waiting to see what everything looked like so there is an as organized effort as possible.
1026  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Dreamcoin [DRM] - X11 - PoW/PoS on: May 25, 2014, 04:51:38 AM
Looking forward to updates.

If the community decides to go in this direction then we need to start thinking of a plan to implement it.  I think that the last news article I posted could be a decent way to start - contact people who have had their Front Lawn Gardens attacked through legal means and have made headlines because of it.  They have already been through collaborations with groups that support the cause and have an inherent audience by which to communicate the idea.

So, I'm thinking we find a list of those people (a day of googling if that) and create a succinct proposition that explains how we can support what they already do.  As I stated, they have a circle of people on the topic that they already have interacted with and likely are still involved with so it is a matter of explaining the details of what crypto is and how it could benefit them.  Kind of like how Doge had to explain to NASCAR what they were but admittedly on a smaller scale (smaller scale but potentially a much more rapt audience).

Just an idea I am tossing out there that can be in addition to what the Dream Community and MyFarm might have in mind...I have no problem with doing any and all of that (with editorial input) if the community thinks it viable.
1027  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Dreamcoin [DRM] - X11 - PoW/PoS on: May 25, 2014, 04:22:27 AM
I'm extremely well connected with the permaculture and local food movement.  I assure you, getting the word out and getting people interested won't be very difficult...

Free money for removing something that costs them money?  We'll have some takers, don't worry.

I'm not worried about that...but I know some people too and getting them on a computer to understand cryptocurrencies is something that I have not been successful at.  But neither was their an incentive.

I know my way around the rhetoric...let me know what I can do.
1028  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Dreamcoin [DRM] - X11 - PoW/PoS on: May 25, 2014, 04:06:42 AM
Awesome Smiley

So you understand the potential value of this?  If so, please share your perspective.

The potential value is pretty good.  Initially, it is a grassroots effort.  The topic isn't a popular one but there is a strong niche community that might respond.  Getting the word to them and educating about crypto currencies is not something that happens over night.

As far as the topic itself...there are also non organic agriculture that are threatening small farms and small food production as well so it is a very reasonable educational effort.  That...and growing stuff is fun and good for you...

I have only just started thinking about it but I like the direction and the idea...

That is exactly what we should never see in the news nor should it even be up for debate.  True story, in the 50's, the U.S. government encouraged lawn gardens as a means to enable self sufficiency.  Something changed...

MyFarm...awesome.  I love the idea.  I have some mild experience with community gardens and tried awhile ago to help a friend set one up in Colorado.

This could be something that I can actually contribute to since I know more about activism and community endeavours than I do about coding...

At any rate...here is the beginning of the new subreddit...http://www.reddit.com/r/DreamcoinDRM/

Needs work but I literally just put it up...

Did you guys hear about this California is making news (not in regards to the coin) but digital privacy:

Quote
On May 19 the California State Senate voted 29-1 to approve SB 828, the California Fourth Amendment Protection Act, which would prohibit the state from helping any federal agency that attempts the “illegal and unconstitutional collection of electronic data.”

Source: http://www.infowars.com/california-bill-would-prohibit-state-cooperation-with-nsa/

Not passed yet.  House and Governor still need to approve.  As well...the rhetoric does not implore county/city governments from providing support to 'agencies'...

It's a nice step but inforwars does not provide the complete context...
1034  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Dreamcoin (DRM) on: May 22, 2014, 06:01:05 PM
I like the overall vibe of the thread.  It looks organized, someone with know how seems to be stepping up and morale is still high.  Awesome...Smiley

I'll be looking forward to what happens as I haven't sold a single one.  In fact, I am still reeling from the panic buy at .0002...so I am going to go focus on something else for awhile and keep from thinking about the DRK I sold for DRM.  True story.

1035  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Conspiracy Coin (X11 Pow + PoS) The Final Card Decoded! on: May 22, 2014, 02:48:15 PM
Looking forward to this...I used to mod for ATS and haven't been too much into conspiracies for awhile so it's kind of like getting back to my roots.  Something I know something about in the crypto world...finally!
1036  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Conspiracy Coin (X11 Pow + PoS) The Final Card Decoded! on: May 22, 2014, 04:56:22 AM
Will I be able to solo mine this?  Kind of new to mining and would like to give that a shot...

I'm a relatively new investor in crypto. Ive jumped into DRK and NMC and now im jumping into the Dream! Something about this coin is telling me to buy up. GL with the development. Also where are the donation addresses?

I think we are currently on hold for donation bounties on development until there is some more news...thought the creator of the video, if he would like to provide an address, deserves a few himself.

By the way...video posted to the facebook page and unless people confirm that it has been posted on Twitter I will start Twittering it as well...

Hope you guys meant about the coin,
we're still chugging along with the multipool,
I never guaranteed a day.

That is great news.  I never thought I would be so happy to hear news like that.  Keep chugging and we'll be waiting...Smiley
1040  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: May 21, 2014, 04:19:03 PM
I think it's reasonable to calculate based on 100% distribution.  I certainly am not going to calculate marketcap based on 10% fire sale by founders.  Regardless of specific #'s, I'm referring to potential returns for those that participated in the IPO and why the current price is below that mark.

Coinmarketcap.com uses the amount of coin in circulation rather than the amount of coin that will eventually be in circulation.  So the current market cap of Maidsafe is $ 4,917,225 based on the amount of coins which were distributed during the IPO...which is 452,552,412 MAID coins.

So the amount of Safecoins that will exist when the Safe Network goes live will be roughly four and a half million - the same as above.  Demand for them will theoretically be a bit more than it is now and that will cause a bump in the price.  Not sure how much though...
