1021  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ANX PRO SCAM - AVOID AT ALL COST on: December 18, 2017, 07:32:09 AM
Does no one read the Scam Accusations Scam Report Format anymore? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=260073.0

Technically speaking, were you scammed by this service? You're accusing them of scamming, but there is no proof that they've scammed you. If it's high fees and market manipulation that you're complaining about, they're not the only ones. This is a common practice in the private trading industry, and just because you don't agree with it doesn't make it a scam. And quite frankly, if you DID use this service and are reporting about your negative experience (still doesn't sound like a 'scam'), then you're the "mark" that decided to conduct business with an exchange with exorbitant fees.

This is just fud, in my opinion. Not a scam.

You got to be shitting me right?? it sounds like you work for these ANX PRO SCAMMERS. You're saying price "manipulation" and "high fees" is common in
the private trading industry?? Are you stupid or retarded??

"Trading Industry" refers to stockmarkets and they have strict rules, regulations and guidelines, "manipulation" is akin to insider trading and that is 100% ILLEGAL, and is neither
common nor tolerated. More over as an "EXCHANGE" which ANP International claims to be, they are meant to bring together buyers and sellers to trade at MARKET PRICES,
not for them to be a market maker by buying it from the market themselves and fleecing their customers by turning around and selling them marked up prices of coins their customers could have gotten directly from the market themselves. Its like a stockbroker buying HSBC stocks at $100 at market then turning around and selling it to his customers at $110, why the fuck would they pay you for your service or need you at all??

You fail to realize that there are no regulations in the crypto industry. So your comparisons to HSBC and other fiat currency exchanges don't merit any value in this conversation. I'm merely asking if you yourself were scammed by this service, as that's what this board is for. Otherwise, your rant belongs in the Exchanges board. Your ability to call someone names, however, is right on point. Good luck with holding any valuable conversation about anything here on the forums. And you should know better than to assume that because I disagree with you, that I'm condoning the activities of this company. You should really learn more about comprehension, rather than cursing up a storm and insulting someone for disagreeing with you. Not a great way to get your point across.

You should move this topic to the appropriate board now, and then you can talk all the shit you want. Being in the "Scam Accusations" does nothing for this subject, and no one will take the post seriously because it's in the wrong board. "Are you stupid or retarded??"

1025  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 'Wolf of Wall Street' says Bitcoin is a 'huge scam' and a 'bubble' on: December 16, 2017, 08:11:33 AM
I'm so sick of reading articles about how "XXX, financial expert" calls Bitcoin a bubble or a scam. Yes, these guys know money and investments. But they're lacking a HUGE fundamental knowledge of what makes Bitcoin so powerful, beyond just the currency aspect of it: the technology. Yes, a lot of new investors are undoubtedly getting into Bitcoin because of the surrounding hype and their greedy desires to make a quick buck on the upswing trends, but that's the nature of finance folks.

But let's look at some of the things that TECHNOLOGY pioneers and influencers have had to say about Bitcoin, because fuck what people who don't understand technology have to say:

"Bitcoin is better than currency in that you don’t have to be physically in the same place and, of course, for large transactions, currency can get pretty inconvenient." - Bill Gates

“Virgin Galactic is a bold entrepreneurial technology. It’s driving a revolution. And bitcoin is doing just the same when it comes to inventing a new currency.” - Richard Branson, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DzwTXZDSyHo

“Bitcoin is a remarkable cryptographic achievement… The ability to create something which is not duplicable in the digital world has enormous value…Lot’s of people will build businesses on top of that.” - Eric Schmidt, Google

“Blockchain is the tech. Bitcoin is merely the first mainstream manifestation of its potential.” - Marc Kenigsberg, Host of Coinversation

“At its core, bitcoin is a smart currency, designed by very forward-thinking engineers. It eliminates the need for banks, gets rid of credit card fees, currency exchange fees, money transfer fees, and reduces the need for lawyers in transitions1… all good things” - Peter Diamandis, X Prize Foundation

“We have elected to put our money and faith in a mathematical framework that is free of politics and human error.” - Tyler Winklevoss, Co-creator of Facebook

“I do think Bitcoin is the first [encrypted money] that has the potential to do something like change the world." - Peter Thiel, Co-Founder of Paypal

"Bitcoin is a very exciting development, it might lead to a world currency. I think over the next decade it will grow to become one of the most important ways to pay for things and transfer assets." - Kim Dotcom, CEO of MegaUpload
1026  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] [IPL] InsurePal | Distributed social proof insurance on: December 16, 2017, 07:52:52 AM
Holy crap, this is amazing!

First things first, the "SOCIAL PROOF" section in your original post has three "O"s in it: SOCIAL PROOOF

With that said, I'm curious as to how this will help bring more awareness to Blockchain tech. Quick question; will payments for insurance only be allowed via fiat cash? Your video indicated the endorser paying via credit card; was that just an example?

This is going to bring so much light into the consumer world... We need more actual products and services that people use on a daily basis to revolve around cryptographic technologies to bring more awareness and acceptance to the crypto industry, so thank you for InsurePal. It's rare for me to see a crowdsale and ITO that I actually feel is truly legit. I'm really hoping that this turns out to be a truly legit deal, but from the looks of it, you guys have got it down!

Applied for your sig campaign as an endorsement to the service. Best of luck with the crowdsale and launch!

1028  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whenever someone says Bitcoin is a ponzi scheme, just ask them... on: December 15, 2017, 05:20:44 PM
- Have you ever heard about Kim Kardashian?
- Yes.
- Great. What's her purpose?
- Uhm, I don't know. Nothing.
- Exactly! Nothing, yet it's worth billions.

What's the point of saying that, though? How people view Kim Kardashian or her worth has absolutely nothing to do with Bitcoin and how people view it. That just helps to spread the confusion surrounding Bitcoin and only makes it worse to the person you're replying to. I'd advise that you stop posting nonsense surrounding Bitcoin, and do more to learn about what it is and how it works before you start giving people fake news about it. Stop spreading confusion...

When I am encountered by someone that calls Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency a ponzi or scam, I just remind them of gold. Yes, gold. This usually puts it in a way and perspective that people understand. They don't understand how gold is mined or purified or transported or exchanged... or how it gets its value. But I remind them that gold's value is based on supply and demand. There's a limited amount of gold on this earth, and because of that, it retains its value. The value of gold doesn't rely on new people discovering it.

I then remind them that Bitcoin follows the same principle. There's a limited supply of it. And my personal investment in the crypto doesn't change because I introduce anyone to it. There's no direct bonus for me to bring them into Bitcoin.

I'm then usually asked "so why do you talk about Bitcoin so much? It sounds scammy when you keep pushing it" to which my reply is "I just don't want to be that asshole that didn't introduce you guys to the opportunity to buy in early. I just want to cover my bases so I can tell everyone 'Remember those times when I told everyone to buy Bitcoin under $500? This is why!'. I don't care whether you invest into it or not, but I'm doing my part by spreading the word about something I'm passionate about, much like how Christians spread the word about Christ or how friends tell you about a badass steak they had at a new restaurant."

And if the person still feels like it's a ponzi or a scam, I just tell them I'll never bring it up around them again. Simple.

Thanks for posting, @LoyceV!

I just reported the site to Google, as well.

I would highly recommend everyone else does the same, as well. Let's be responsible and take actions against sites like the copycat. These scammers just give cryptocurrency a bad name, which leads to potential new users of crypto to believe that all cryptos are just based on scams and con artists... Take a second to click on the link that @LoyceV has provided above, or here. I'll make it easy.

It only takes a second. The comment part is optional, but if you want to put something there, it's as simple as saying:

Code:
This site is designed to scam and phish users of the reputable site chipmixer.com. Please ban them from advertising with Google.

Make sure to look at LoyceV's screenshot to get the address of the site to report; don't want to post the link for obvious reasons.
1030  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Be careful with Yobit on: December 12, 2017, 06:17:05 PM
My YoBit account suddenly decided to turn 2FA on by itself. Given that I had a new phone at the time, I couldn't log into my YoBit account. I hit up their support team, and after a couple of automated messages, I finally received a reply from someone asking me to confirm some of the transactions I've had in my account, and then they would restore access to my account. I let them know of a couple of transactions I had, along with the balances that I knew I had in my account... And then I never heard back from them again. That was in February of this year.

So now, I'm out of hundreds of dollars worth of crypto, and their registration seems to be disabled, so I cannot even create a new account there. Be weary, folks... I never really trusted YoBit, even when I was using their site, and my experience just shows that I was right to trust my instinct. Thankfully, I was able to move all my major crypto's out of the exchange before they decided to lock me out of my account, so I'm grateful for that, at least.

1032  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: 🔥[NEW] Bitcoin URL Shortener - Count ALL Views - $1 CPM - FaucetHub🔥 on: December 12, 2017, 04:56:22 AM
Just a couple of quick notes, from a User Interface perspective:

1. You should have clear and easy ways to sign up for a new account. There's no "SIGN UP" or "REGISTER" verbiage on the website anywhere, except for the "3 STEPS" section, and the "CREATE AN ACCOUNT" button isn't clickable. Right now, the only way to sign up is to go to "MY ACCOUNT" in the navigation bar, and then click on the small link that says "Register a new membership" underneath the login form. That's a 2-step process that makes it difficult for new members to sign up.

My recommendation? Replace the "MY ACCOUNT" link with "SIGN UP" that points to the registration page. And then add another link that says "DASHBOARD", which takes users to the dashboard if they're signed in, or to the registration form if they are not.

2. When I click on the "Withdraw" tab from my dashboard, I see that there are only USD amounts and I cannot find the option to withdraw to FaucetHUB. Is this feature not yet available?

Overall, this looks great, and I will play around with using this shortener for the next few weeks and report back.

Is there an example landing page of this service that we can check out? I'd like to see the layout of it... Hopefully there are no popups like mellowads or zap.in.

Good luck, OP!

EDIT: Nevermind, I will not be using this shortening service. 4 Popups from my sample link, one of which included a popup to a malicious page:

1033  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you think BitConnect is a cancer to the crypto space, wait till you see THIS! on: December 12, 2017, 04:46:15 AM
This is hilarious. I have a lot of friends who know that I'm into Social Media Marketing & Management who ask me consistently about Tai Lopez and his "marketing" strategies. I invested a couple hundred bucks into doing research so I could let my friends know if his methods are something that the should be paying for and following.

Regarding the marketing side of things, Lopez claims that he makes a ridiculous amount of money applying his methods towards his marketing efforts. In one of his training videos, he accidentally shows a frame that I was able to pause that shows a name of an actual "client" of his. I searched and found the client's facebook page, and lo and behold, the engagement on all of the posts were extremely low. The frequency of posts were also sporadic. The website of that client was outdated.

This got me to further investigate Tai Lopez's earnings, and I uncovered that the majority of the money he claims he earns from his marketing methods actually come from the resale of his webinars and methods, which is all recycled bullshit.

If his Bitcoin marketing training is ANYTHING like his social media marketing methods, then yeah. Stay away from this. I would invest a bit to do some more research on his crypto methods, but just like I had lost my investment in his marketing methods, I'm sure to lose out with this bullshit that he's spewing.

I hope nobody from the forums fall victim to his bullshit there; you can find all of the methods that he's probably outlining by simply searching this forum. Please stay away from this guy.
1034  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer - mixing reinvented on: August 27, 2017, 06:37:57 PM
It is a total fallacy that only criminals use Bitcoin and Bitcoin mixers... It is just FUD being spread by "enforcement" agencies concerned that their job is being made harder.

They are attempting to paint Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency as the devil to convince law makers to give them all sorts of extra powers...

The 1% get a bit nervous when the peons find new ways to circumvent their systems (fiat banking) and start to discover ways to cut them out of the loop.

Besides, if everyone is using a mixer, are they going to accuse everyone of being a criminal? We'd all be much "safer" if everyone used anonymizing services... They can't arrest everyone Tongue
This is something a lot of people have some level of understanding and what mixing services should be about. In that for the mere fact of using bitcoin, you are by default wanting to stay anonymous either you using for services or for payment so then I don't see anything wrong in trying to take it further in using mixing services.

It's all part of the post-privacy way of thinking. The whole narrative about having nothing to hide.

When everyone claims that they having nothing to hide, people who want to keep some form of privacy are automatically suspicious. Private individuals become more and more transparent while governments and corporations become more and more opaque, while ideally it should be the other way round. You can see a similar way of thinking surrounding the TOR browser.

Agreed. It's the same thing with wanting to keep your information private when someone asks you how much money you have in your bank account. It's none of their business. Me wanting to mix my bitcoin has nothing to do with legalities or trying to hide something; it has to do with me not wanting to expose to the world how much any given address holds at any given time. While I love the fact that Bitcoin operates on a PUBLIC ledger (unlike the private ledgers that banks use), I don't need everybody to know how much I hodl.
1035  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Value and the Relationship between BTC and BCH on: August 01, 2017, 09:37:06 PM
hell no.
it's a clone at the beginning and always be like that,
no matter what will happen to Bitcoin,it has nothing to do.
we will see a pump for this clone in a few days or weeks later and after that huge dump will happen.
i am not surprised about this coin, because it's an altcoin to begin with

I think that's what most people fail to realize... That it's an altcoin at the end of the day. It just happens to have the word "bitcoin" in its name. I think Bitcoin Cash is just eclectic enough to scare away the bitcoin noobies, and not secure enough to attract the majority of the whales. I also agree that at the end of the day, this will live its lifetime as another altcoin, and will see the initial pump and dump like many alts go through. Is it here to stay? Sure, why not? But will it retain its value is the real question...

Unless there is some major marketing done to influence and educate the masses about BCC/BCH, I think most people are just going to dump their *free* coins and be done with it. Volatile market, for sure, and by the time it neutralizes, I firmly believe that BTC will still reign, as is pretty obviously apparent at this moment. Maybe with the adoption and integration of BCC by the big powerhouses and exchanges, which is apparently in the works for some big sites, but I believe that Bitcoin will still and always be the "gold standard" of crypto.

This is just me, a layman, talking though. I don't mine and have never mined BTC. I'm just a random dude that discovered it a couple years ago that knows just enough about how the blockchain works and how to setup and migrate my own private keys. For someone like me, there was not enough education pushed in my face about BCC/BCH to make me comfortable to swap and/or hodl, and if I'm saying that as a layman, I'm sure there are MILLIONS more out there going "what the fuck is Bitcoin Cash?!"

Just my $0.02.
1036  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer - mixing reinvented on: August 01, 2017, 09:26:54 PM
Just as what @TryNinja said. It doesn't get any more simpler than that. But perhaps ChipMixer can offer a small bounty for someone to professionally (keyword "professionally"; not just a voiceover your screen capture lol) design a videographic that shows the simple process of how to mix coins. There's a section for a "How It Works" video currently on the website, but from what I can remember, there has never been a video there.

I can see why it might be confusing for mixing noobs to learn how to mix coins, but I feel like the best analogy would be that it's like learning how to use a Mac. They're much simpler to use than PC's, so it's like you almost have to dumb yourself down before you commit to learning anything. Same thing with mixing. It literally is as simple as sending your coins and receiving a private key. Boom. Done.

But yeah, maybe a simple 30 second video would help out the nubz.
1037  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] [CHATBOT] CoinDips.com - Alerts When Coin Price Dips on: August 01, 2017, 09:20:29 PM
The part which asks for the email address before providing the telegram url, stopped me from going further. Why do we have to provide our email id to get the chat bot url is something which looked suspicious about you collecting email database.

What is the source from which the so called bot will alert us of the price drops and at what intervals? You must know pretty well, the price drops and goes up practically every second.

I have had this bot installed for 3 days now, and haven't received any alerts. The price really hasn't dipped much since then, but for transparency purposes, I'll post the link here to download the bot without having to disclose your email address (I think an emailgate is shady practice, especially when it comes to making it mandatory to receive something in return): https://t.me/coindipbot

Enjoy.
1038  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are your strategies to make money in cryptocurrency? Heres mine: on: August 01, 2017, 09:16:12 PM
Here's the thing about volatility in the cryptomarket... There is no guarantee, and you're literally risking everything you have. Quite honestly, you may be better off just hodling Bitcoin and gaining from the appreciation and rise of price vs. trying to always stay ahead of the curve with cryptos.

If you really want to try and earn some coin, there are some signature campaigns here that can earn you up to $100USD/week, which can add up for you if you just want to continue collecting in a wallet. 3 months of consistently posting quality content = $1,200USD.

Additionally, if you scour sites like XBTFreelancer.com and other sites, you can offer your services in exchange for Bitcoin.

I wouldn't really go about the micro-earnings way (like faucets) unless you have a good following and can get referral commissions and bonuses from their claims.

And join contests here, as well. You can earn some decent coin if you know where to look. Message me if you need more specifics; I'll be glad to help you out.
1039  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for 10-20 users to test new faucet site. Will receive small payment. on: July 30, 2017, 04:42:23 AM
I have knowledge and a good understanding of how faucets work, as that was my introduction to Bitcoin. I have moderated some of the biggest faucets out there, including Faucet Game and Game Faucet, and I've provided feedback to many admins of faucets throughout the years; both successful and unsuccessful faucets.

I will say that I am no longer interested in faucets, but I'd like to recommend a great place to find qualified testers; go to the chat rooms of FaucetGame.com and FaucetHub.io and look for the moderators there. They are generally online a lot and have a deep understanding of faucets, and they are pretty much prequalified by @mexicantarget before they ever become mods. They will also provide you with a shit ton of referrals once you're ready to go live, as they're all pretty much connected with thousands of faucet claimers throughout the network of sites that @mexcantarget owns and operates!

Good luck to you, and can't wait to hear more about your faucet!
1040  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] [CHATBOT] CoinDips.com - Alerts When Coin Price Dips on: July 30, 2017, 04:19:31 AM
I'm having trouble loading the coindips.com site from my iPhone. Is there any way you can post the Telegram link here, and possibly check if your site is responsive so that it loads on mobile devices? Thanks!

Edit: the page finally loaded, and I see you have an emailgate before displaying the Telegram link. Please don't spam me Smiley

Quick question, as it is not answered on your site: what constitutes a dip in price to where I will get notified by the bot? Is it an overall percentage of the price of Bitcoin?

Cheers and good luck! Can't wait to see the updates. Do you plan on doing a bot for price pumps, too?
