1041  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 03, 2022, 02:37:23 PM
Oh yes,,, I also just realized now there is a long break in Italy, is this normal for the league or just because of Covid?

It is really very difficult now to make arrangements for all the football I wonder if we will see another postponement, and I am sure some teams would really like the break, especially Salertina now who must find a buyer. Crisis time!
I think this is normal because in every league everyone is given a winter break with almost the same time gap, which is two weeks.
and I think this is a pretty good thing apart from the recovery of their players, they can at least be refreshing even for a while.
on the other hand maybe what is still running now is the EPL because indeed they are now on Boxing day which is only done in the league itself

Yes, I saw some other explanation about this already now. Anyway, Winter break is ending this week and we can resume the thick schedule for football everywhere!

Juventus versus Napoli is the biggest game and the home team is highly favored by the odds to win, but Napoli I am sure will insist to have a few words about the outcome. So I might make a pick on them to win Wink
1042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Understanding NFTs on: January 03, 2022, 02:05:28 PM
They are not "coded into the ethereum blockchain". The media file is still uploaded on either a centralized server, or through IPFS. The only thing that goes into the blockchain(unless you're using something like Arweave) is the digital signature.

Something that actually a lot of NFT developers and projects either do not understand or do not even bother to tell their users. This blockchain data only stores the signature and also points to the location of the file.

Something also we really need to remind people.

To everyone who does not believe this. Please Google "NFT Error 404" to see all the examples of what could happen to your NFT if the centralized server storing it deletes the file.

Can we say that City will lift the trophy this season? It seems Yes, all players are at the same level seen when they are still draw againts Arsenal, 3 points are always their target, there is no losing or drawing.

Yes,,, unfortunately the season is now all about who will get Top 4 spots for Champions League football Smiley

OK even if Liverpool win the games in hand they still will be behind 8 points. Even if they meet City and win, it becomes 5 points.

How can you find 2 games where they will lose while Liverpool and Chelsea win all their remaining games? Mathematically possible but realistically we all know the outcome.
1044  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What makes mataverse coins stand out? on: January 03, 2022, 11:46:18 AM
For me, the Metaverse has become Mark's imaginary world. In the future, it will always provide a platform for big investors. and we're just hitchhiking by the roadside as useless avatars. Just own a coin based on the Metaverse and you will know how it develops and improves significantly. But there are different types of Coins or Tokens, so doing some initial research is a mess to determine which way our money will be allocated.

But that is the whole point of the metaverse though,,, an imaginary world. And Facebook/Meta is just one version, everybody is free to build their own version. There is already big investors not just Meta, who are all pouring billions into building.

And for many people I know having these avatars,,, it is not useless for them. It literally is like having Twitter or Facebook, but with an avatar instead of a wall. This is how it is to me anyway  Wink

West Ham joining the fight for CL positions once again and they have an easy fixture vs. Norwich in couple of days. Crystal Palace was dangerous whole game but first half result was really unfair for them. I am glad they managed to claw two goals back but too bad they did not manage to that a bit earlier so we can enjoy some good football.

I think they were the favorites,,, but you are right, such bad luck to end up 3 goals down especially when you see the penalty. I saw the replay but how the hell can you avoid handball when you are jumping up (hands down and to your side) but the ball bounces in a weird way to your arm. No matter how his arms was up down behind the ball would have touched it. And no player near him anyway so what.

2-0 and it would be an even greater game.

That is fine slaman29,,, we all volunteer to bet or not bet and 15 BUST is not so bad.

But Liverpool fans will be super disappointed because the game was a PUSH at 20. One more goal to win, get Blackjack, that would have been their dream come true.

Now Manchester United,,, can they change our fortunes?

I was also really surprised by the very small percentage that NFL was at. My guess is that it might be a regional thing - NFL betting is definitely the most popular in the USA, which is a restricted region. I'd imagine that European and Asian customers are much less likely to care about American Football, so they wouldn't know how it works and thus wouldn't bet on it.

Maybe it is also something to do with the actual market. NFL is only played in USA but if you included American football as a whole maybe it would have a bigger share,,, or maybe NFL is the only big American football market? I was just thinking because baseball and basketball for example was named as sports not just NBA or MLB. Now I am wondering why baseball made it big outside USA but American football did not,,,

Though you are right that of course the main betting people on it cannot even access Sportsbet, which makes total sense to think about for this contest.
1048  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Trading Bots on: January 02, 2022, 02:02:59 PM
Maybe people need to be bitten to learn.
okay I understand what you're saying but back again it's up to the choice of each person who runs it.
on the other hand the people who created it, of course, they are also people who are businessmen and want the same profits as almost everyone.
I feel you are right in this matter because there must be someone who pays special attention to beginners who never know about this, but on the other hand to believe it or not depends on the judgment of each person.
I personally never wanted to use this thing because for me it was a pointless thing but for others it might not be what I think

Of course it is the choice of the person,,, that is kind of what I am saying. People willingly make the choice to get scammed every day since 100s of years ago. This is not at all something only found in crypto. Greed is evident in people, seemingly the more money people have the more greedy they are. It has something to do with this thing of "working hard to earn your money". If people did not suffer for it, they feel more easy to let it go.

I am right about this. And this is my warning to everyone reading. Maybe they read it and take note,,, if so I feel I did my job.

I got so paranoid I even betted 5 mbtc today just in case  Grin

Lol me too, I woke up and first thing that I did was open up roulette then set up autobet for 5mbtc wager lol. This might take a while until my body forget this daily routine lol but yeah I'll probably do that tomorrow as well, trying to get my clubhouse level to silver atleast.

Anyway Im getting some new year 'luck' from free bets though

West Ham leads with 3 goals now at 52nd minutes  Smiley

Indeed,,, I think I even was tempted to bet again today but because the rules clearly say 31st December, I will not go to waste another opportunity to keep money before the new year is even one week old  Cheesy

Anyway, the funny thing is I wagered 5mbtc but my clubhouse level did not even move 1 point until bets cleared today for sports then I got several hundred. If I am not mistaken when I bet live before the bar moves up even every settled bet.

Amazing hits on your new year bets was this from the recent promo? 5 mbtc just like that wow Smiley

It was not a happy new year for Blackjack and I must apologize to you on behalf of my Spurs  Grin A BUST with only 12 points, only 1 card and only 1 goal.

And it was a long game too because of the crowd incident so Spurs will thank their lucky stars,,, for the break and then to get the 96th minute goal. Son assist king!

But today is a giant match. I hope Liverpool make this one!

Done mine earlier today and kudos to everyone from bitcointalk that managed to stay till the end on this one as well as getting profit from this contest. In the end we are most likely settled with 0.033 btc for each of us and that is over $1500 with the current rate, I honestly cant imagine anyone to drop out on the last day.

Great experience for my first live hero contest, I barely break even from this ( could have been so much better ) but it was great. Totally going to participate on the next one for sure if sportsbet decided to make another one

Yes,,, congrats to everyone from bitcointalk!🎉🎉🎉

This was a really, really REALLY tough challenge to complete and for me personally, the hardest of all the gambling contests I ever did. To remember to do it every day,,, to be disciplined and keep betting just to meet wager requirements,,, to not get tempted to chase back the losses.

I got so paranoid I even betted 5 mbtc today just in case  Grin

It is a very nice Christmas present to get, too bad BTC price is not so good now but hodl it all everyone!
1052  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is ethereum still a viable alternative to Bitcoin? on: January 01, 2022, 11:22:59 AM
OP, why do you keep on insisting to open these types of pointless discussions? Ask something more useful, or at least provide a stronger platform for discussion.

You need to clarify a few things first,,,

For example, what does viable alternative entail? Alternative to Bitcoin as an investment? As a currency? As a blockchain network for smart contracts? What?

Firstly, happy new year to everyone and Steve and Sportsbet. You guys made it such a wonderful year I cannot imagine ever that I would love a sportsbetting platform the way I do for you. That comes from the bottom of the heart.

I like Rashford too but you are totally right here,,, he did a lot of good charity projects especially about the food program and this is why he is loved.
then let him engage in politics, why he takes a salary from a football club.
I saw many hardcore MU supporters who do not want to hear any criticism of him, it certainly gives him the comfort of not having to work hard on the field. nothing performs better than Martial, and this one is currently on the margin.

Hey man, I am not saying he should be anything, but football players are social leaders and role models, so if he chooses to support food projects in his own home town, and in neighborhoods he grew up in, I think he should be applauded. Nobody said he is running for politics.

Can we not be our careers and also speak on social issues? Bitcointalk people should only talk about Bitcoin and not support Bitcoin charities? Sportsbet should only talk betting and not support charities with Bitcoin? I think both sides benefit from doing good Smiley

But anyway you are totally right Martial is performing but not getting chances and what about the sad case of Lingard? Sad
1055  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Trading Bots on: December 31, 2021, 02:22:15 PM
Simply put was already what I said. Guarantee does not exist in profits,,, crypto, or fiat, or stocks, whatever.
maybe it would be an exaggeration to say that it was immediately said to be a fraud but it is like you said, when you can get even a little profit in one day it is good enough, so why rely on tools or other people for that.
Doing things like this actually when viewed with a simple eye does look profitable but when explored further it will only make losses everywhere.

Dude it is not an exaggeration at all,,, anybody who guarantees is running a scam. Do not make one moment the mistake of thinking that "Maybe" it is real. It is not. 1000+ years of financial fraud history is littered with people promising and guaranteeing, and fools with money cannot wait to make it all go away.

Maybe people need to be bitten to learn.

I've placed prizes about 4 or 5 times already with reasonably low risk, I'm sure you can find the same if you try. Good luck!

Thanks for the welcome, this means we now play a 3 platforms together already,,, and I think if people were to look they will see we only play at quality sites Wink

But as I mentioned I actually have not really started playing here at all,,, just a few wagers here and there but nothing like you yet. Like today about 10 hands on Blackjack. For sure it will happen at some point, share your strategies and let me beat you Wink

BTW OP the 2 main games just do not work for me at all. I can play games of other providers but the 2 main games (BJ and Red/Black) I cannot even place a bet it keeps telling me MAX bet reached.
1057  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is your most anticipated project for 2022 on: December 31, 2021, 12:05:01 PM
Yes, I admitted that I still need to learn more about crypto. Thanks for reminding me of that.

So I ask you, how do you know if the project is a scam? Do you know it at the first time when they launched the project? I do not research Metaverse projects so I do not have the right answer. I doubt that the token has a real metaverse because we are still far from that and it needs more development.

Most people only want to make money from Metaverse and we know that. So they will follow the trend while it is available but only people who do not research will still follow without knowing if the trend is ending.

As I said,,, and I will always say this. Assume that 99% of projects are scams because in reality that is actually the case.

Think about what Bitcoin did and think about what all other projects did different.

1> If a project is real, does it really need money from users? Did Bitcoin ever ask for a single cent from the community to "develop"? No. Never. Bitcoin just developed and actually built a real thing to use.
2> Does the project even have a single user? I am not talking about token buyers, all projects have buyers. Bitcoin users tried transactions, tried wallets, and never focused only on price. If the project channels only have people asking about price or when listing? It is a scam buddy.
3> Do you even know what is metaverse? And does the project actually have one or is it just some stupid online game? No need to answer because I know the answer. No metaverse token has a metaverse that even is close to a non-blockchain one.
1058  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: December 31, 2021, 10:18:49 AM
Side news but don't know where to post since is related but a little of topic.

The Italian Supercup between Juventus and Inter, winner of Italian cup and winner of Serie A, will be probably postponed from 10th ish of January to middle April.

Now this is news for me,,, I am following Italian league a bit more closely this season than others because of prediction pools. I had no idea that this takes place in the middle of the season in Italy. In England it is the opening match of the season,,, now it makes me wonder which other leagues also do it the same or if every country is different Smiley
1059  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc is boring on: December 31, 2021, 12:56:50 AM
I mean, the swings can still be pretty drastic when you compare it to other currencies. Obviously, other things in the stock market would be more volatile, and various other cryptocurrencies are definitely a lot more volatile, but Bitcoin is most certainly still pretty crazy, and has the potential to earn a pretty sharp trader some serious money, even in the short term.

I absolutely agree,,, and it is just a matter of perspective. Bitcoin compared to any alt of course is boring but that is relative in OP view. It is definitely drastic when compared to every other non-crypto asset actually,,, I mean just open up a daily chart or weekly chart and compare the volatility with almost any main forex.

It is the main reason traditional investors are so afraid of Bitcoin.

Other alts they do not even take seriously,,, not that their opinion is of any impact  Cheesy
