On behalf of everyone in Europe German foreign minister declared war with Russia
https://youtu.be/ZriXLCgNLCU?t=87
Wars are not declared this way, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs is well aware of this. There are no fools in Europe to fight with Russia, because it could end very badly for Europe. Only the neo-Nazis of Ukraine have the suicidal courage to challenge Russia. It seems that Goebbels also said about them: “Bandera’s are insane maniacs, or, in other words, brutalized cattle. But it is precisely these that we need in this period of time in order to destroy the recalcitrant Slavs. And then they themselves must be destroyed, since animals have no place among people ".

Russia is doing a great service to Europe and the whole world by conducting an operation to denazify Ukraine.

So you still think it was Russia who defeated the German Reich?? You seem to be forgetting that most of WW II was actually fought in Ukraine and that millions of Ukrainians were the ones who actually fought, died and won the battles with the Nazi Germany only to be betrayed by Stalin.

Quote
Ukraine paid the biggest price for victory in the Second World War. As a vital contributor to the Red Army and a key provider of industrial resources in the USSR, Ukraine incurred the largest number of casualties during WWII. Russia has claimed the victory for itself and has officially denied the Ukrainian role in the fight against the Nazis.

The real number of victims during WWII is still not fully known. Some relevant data is still held in Russian archives and is not available for non-Russian researchers. However, of the 41.7 million people living in Ukrainian Soviet Republic before the war, only 27.4 million were alive in Ukraine in 1945. Official data says that at least 8 million Ukrainians lost their lives: 5.5 - 6 million civilians, and more than 2.5 million natives of Ukraine were killed at the front. The data varies between 8 to 14 million killed, however, only 6 million have been identified.

Remarkably, in December

Ask yourself, who liberated who from the real Nazis? Whose territory, cities, soldiers and civilians made YOU free to rant and spread disinformation? Another one here who has forgotten the price of freedom.
This is not about the Second World War, but about the outbreak of ultra-right nationalism in Ukraine already in the 21st century, when Bandera and the SS division of Galicia began to be honored in Ukraine as heroes, and the Nazi battalion Azov became part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Your country managed to deal with the crisis in a way better than many of the analysts anticipated.
Hah, you can find "analysts" predicting all sorts of thing but you had to be very naive to believe those fearmongers "predicting" that EU would freeze to death.

Let's be frank, Europe was helped not by analysts' mistakes, but by this abnormally warm winter. There has never been a frost so far this winter.
1083  Economy / Economics / Re: [Article] How ChatGPT Will Destabilize White-Collar Work on: January 28, 2023, 08:55:10 PM
The problem is that we often confuse learning systems/neural networks with artificial intelligence. These are completely different concepts and systems. And the goals are different.
ChatGPT can hardly be called an artificial intelligence or a "matrix" Smiley In fact, it is a huge repository of information that can find the right answers among trillions of blocks of information and formulate answers similar to human speech. A sort of Google search engine is a wrapped human-like interface for issuing search results.
Yes, neural networks and other technologies work here to collect and systematize primary information. But this system has no INTELLIGENCE.
I hope you have already seen this masterpiece: "The neural network was asked to draw a salmon swimming against the current. Well, she drew it."

In ChatGPT, the picture is much better, but the intelligence never appeared there. Since one of the areas I do is IT (development), and like everyone else I saw how ChatGPT "produces ready-made ideal code." I tried to set a task for him, something from the area "Write code so that when you click something, something opens somewhere." The system began to ask clarifying questions so that the problem statement was extremely accurately described in order to understand which "code from the knowledge base to take." If there is no clear statement of the problem, you will not receive any code. More precisely, if there is a place where there can be variability and you need to figure out the essence of the process yourself, ChatGPT will not help you. Therefore, if we talk about "replacement" - perhaps he will replace some of the "pioneers" of developers, who are essentially "translators" from human to programming language, not difficult tasks. Although I agree that as the system learns and the knowledge base accumulates, the level of "replacement" may rise
You do not seem to understand what ChatGPT is and confuse it with generative-adversarial neural networks for generating pictures, such as Midjourney or Stable Diffusion.

Burning of Qur’an in Stockholm funded by journalist with Kremlin ties

Ahaha, if a lone action of some lunatic can prevent Sweden from joining NATO, then Sweden is not so eager to get into NATO.

Oh, yes of course... it is a defeat for Europe if you say so, but ... Are these tanks going to fight Italy or France? Will they be killing Spanish or Greeks? I would say this is more like a clear indication that the RF diplomacy is pretty much at its lowest point ever. You cannot even convince one of your largest trading partners of not sending their best land weaponry against you. What a victory.
How are the progress with the expansion of NATO to the East? Burning a Koran a week until Erdogan agrees looks like a great idea. Grin

By the way, it seems that Germany has given green light to sending Leopard II to Ukraine. It's impressive capabilities include holding beers while moving in rough terrain. Can't beat that.
Are you seriously? Scholz resisted with all four paws so as not to transfer the Leopards to Ukraine, because this is very unprofitable for Germany, and Ukraine will not help anyway. Well, Europe has lost its right to strategic sovereignty over such matters and has once again been forced to succumb to US pressure.

The transfer of German tanks to Ukraine is not a victory for Ukraine, but a defeat for Germany. Now all European countries have a free hand to transfer their old Leopards to Ukraine, and in return they will buy not new Leopards, but American Abrams. Leopards will burn or get stuck in the impenetrable mud of Ukraine, the US will receive new orders, and Germany will receive nothing.

Did Moscow not have "air defense systems" until now? And the best they can do is lift a vehicle-based SAM on top of a building?
Moscow is one of the most protected cities in the world in terms of air defense. However, as the experience of Ukraine has shown, slow, cold and low-flying drones are a difficult target for air defense. Rumor has it that Ukraine also learned how to clone Iranian Shahid-136 drones, since it was not difficult. Automobile air defense systems on the roof of the Ministry of Defense - to protect against a possible massive attack by Ukrainian clones of the Iranian Shahid-136.

I still think that Ukraine committed a great stupidity by not making an unconditional surrender in March last year. Ukraine did not have, does not have and will not have a chance in confrontation with Russia. Any tactical success is simply an increase in the number of deadweight losses and an increase in the amount of debt to Western countries, for which future generations will have to pay.
You seem to be very confident about Russia abilities to continue war for many years with unlimited number of tanks, missiles human power and etc. And at the same time you understimate West. Things like Himars is cool, but in general, NATO countries gave to Ukraine things that they don't need themelves. Like tanks from soviet era, post WW2 howitzers. But they aren't getting things what would be real game changer like long range missiles for HIMARS, combat aircrafts and etc. There is so much noise about air defense systems or Leopard tanks because West still fear to ''escalate conflict. But Ukraine achieved a lot already with things that they have.
Yep, and I have repeatedly said that time works for Russia. And I don't underestimate the West. Not only is it unprofitable for the West to enter into direct confrontation with Russia, it is also unprofitable for the excessive escalation of the Ukrainian conflict. Because if it gets out of control, this fire could engulf the whole of Europe.

For me personally, it’s enough for now that this year in Kyiv, for the first time in many years, there was no traditional torchlight procession in honor of Bandera. It is still unreasonable for Russia to take Kyiv now - together with Kyiv, it will have to take all the huge debts of Ukraine, which it has managed to do since the beginning of the special operation.

That's a good excuse to wrap up the whole "special operation". We don't want Ukraine anymore, it's bombed to shit and in debt, let's go home. Can you pass this idea to Putin? Thanks.
I think Putin has taken a rather tough and principled position in the style of "all the goals of the special operation will be achieved in full."
1091  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: January 17, 2023, 08:54:13 AM
As I understand it, a cauldron was formed there for at least 400 fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who heroically continue to resist without much chance of success after losing control over the dominant height. Good job Wagner.
After long months of negative success and some glorious retreats, Russia finally achieved something... Do you still dream about taking Kyiv?

Remember back a few weeks into the war when you thought Russia was going to take Kiev and throw a parade by the end of last Spring?

In Kyiv on May 9 2022, a traditional parade will be held in honor of the victory of the USSR over Nazi Germany. It is naive and foolish to doubt it.

Imagine what you would've said then, how naive and foolish you'd think of someone that told you that Ukraine would retake more than half of the land Russia occupied, force Putin to draft civilians to fight, the Moskva would be sunk, the bridge to Crimea bombed, and almost a year later Ukraine would still be fighting.

Just classic. ''Nazis'' in Ukraine is terrible thing, but everything is ok when criminals like serial killers, pedophilles, rapers and etc is fighting on your side. Many of time had lifteime sentences. Lifes of these peoples don't have big value in Russia, but I just remind that if they will be lucky enough to comeback alive from Ukraine, they won't get back in prisons and I'm just wondering how they will integrate in your society.
You better worry about your future. Russia has stood and will stand, but as for the prospects for Ukrainian statehood, I am less sure that it will be possible to preserve it at least in some form.

Good job Wagner.

Wait I thought you were anti-Nazi.

You know the Wagner group got it's name from the call sign of Dmitry Utkin, it's founder.  Utkin has SS tattoos.  And Wagner was Hitlers favorite composer.  They played his music at every Nazi rally.

Have you been a Nazi supporter this whole time?

Or do you not really care one way or the other.
Wagner is volunteers mainly from among the former prisoners. I don’t care what they believe and whether they believe in anything at all, I am of the opinion that the exchange of Wagnerites for Ukrainians, which has been taking place in the Artyomovsk direction for several months during fierce street battles, is beneficial for Russia and unprofitable for Ukraine.
1094  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: January 11, 2023, 09:38:34 PM
Speaking of Clownashenkov, he seems to be contradicting the Z-hero himself, Putin's heir apparent, Wagner's hammerman Prigozhin. The latter claimed that wagnerists control Soledar, RF MOD says not yet, fight is ongoing. Ukrainian MOD says the same, so it's quite bizarre that Russia's chief liar might be telling the truth for once. Veleor will be happy.

Russian general "Armageddon" Surovikin, who was supposed to turn the shitshow around but ended up giving up Kherson and wasting missiles on transformers, has been demoted from the position of the commander of the "special operation". The new commander is Valery Gerasimov (Chief of the General Staff), who seems to get a lot of hate in the Z-channels for alleged corruption and incompetence. I doubt this will improve anything for the Russian forces. Maybe Gerasimov will be the fall guy.
It seems that Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Zaluzhny spoke well of Gerasimov, saying that "read all his books."

Wrong - debt can be good or bad, it is about what do you buy with it. Simple example: You use a credit card a 22% interest to buy fancy yet not needed clothes (bad idea) or you borrow at 3% to create a business that generates 15% returns (good idea). Debt simply makes things "shaky" but also gives an edge.

An undeveloped services sector is not healthy. A barrel of oil is pretty much a barrel of oil (not exactly true), an copper is copper...  services are key for competitivity.
Debt can hardly be considered good if the debt burden exceeds 100% of GDP. Such debt is difficult to service, especially during periods of rising key rates, and almost impossible to repay. Almost all of the world's top 10 countries, except for Russia, have a debt burden exceeding 100% of GDP, and almost all of the top 10 countries have a catastrophic trade deficit. The largest economies in the world are giants with feet of clay. "Shaky" as you said is a good word.
1096  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: January 08, 2023, 10:40:25 AM
in terms of GDP, Russia rose from 11th to 9th place in the world over the year

So the internets is telling me Russia is the largest country in the world (by a lot). And they have more resources than any other country (by a lot).  So...why are they barely cracking the top 10 in countries by GDP?

In Russia, the service sector is underdeveloped, which in developed countries gives up to 70-80% of GDP. Also in Russia, the habit of living in debt is less developed, which also negatively affects the absolute figures of GDP, but is favorable for a healthier structure of the economy.
1097  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: January 07, 2023, 06:48:20 PM
be, the GDP of Russia is equivalent to the one of just Italy. The manufacturing capacity of Europe is and order of magnitude above the RF. There is no scenario whatsoever in which the RF gains any short of control over Europe, even if the US decided to do nothing.

GPD percentages are effectively what you need to pay for a war. Europe has no shortage of manufacturing capacity, several times in excess of anything the RF may dream of. If you are arguing that the RF could win a war of attrition, you are severely mistaken. These are hard data and facts.

Apart from data, your assertions collide with reality. The RF advance was slowed, stopped and then turned back because the RF does not have the logistics to carry on with the war.
Your information is out of date. According to recent data, in terms of GDP, Russia rose from 11th to 9th place in the world over the year, overtaking Italy. But data on Ukraine is difficult to find, according to various estimates, its GDP fell from 30 to 37% over the year, and in terms of GDP, Ukraine now neighbors Ethiopia and Sri Lanka.

And all this is unimportant, because it is not the size that matters, but the structure of GDP. In the GDP of developed countries, a large volume is occupied by services and derivative financial instruments. Therefore, it is incorrect to directly compare the GDP of Italy and Russia, although they are close in size. Just as it is incorrect to directly compare the GDP of Ukraine and Sri Lanka, although they are also close in size.

You can officially have a very low unemployment, and even you can have a really low unemployment, but it is also about the type of employment you have and the salary you will get for it. This includes the fact that if the currency looses value, salaries fall comparatively.

The RF, as any other country can do without external investment, perhaps better than others I reckon since the economy is based on commodities and raw goods exports, but, as the USSR proves, it eventually makes the country less competitive and inflation creates chaos.

As resilient as it is, history proves that this does not end up well.
Now it’s like the global financial crisis, poke your finger at any country and see how well things are going, everywhere you will find problems similar or even worse than in Russia - and this is without any sanctions. It's just the nature of the moment.
It reminds me 2023 forecasts by Medvedev, did you got influenced by him? But from what I remember you're not doing very well with future predictions. Russia from main security threat for Europe turning into security guarantee of Europe - that's good one.
Medvedev was definitely wrong in at least one point of his forecast - having predicted the possible collapse of the Bretton Woods monetary system, he did not take into account that it collapsed back in 1976.

Leaving people without electricity, water and heating in the middle of winter is everyday inonvenience - that's interesting logic. Paкeты дoбpa, like one propagandist called it:
https://t.me/logikamarkova/4625
Let's take a sober look at things and call them by their proper names. How many people actually froze to death or died of thirst from interruptions in the supply of heat, water and electricity due to Russian missile attacks on the power grid? One hundred? Thousand? No, the death toll is close to zero. What kind of genocide is this? Common everyday inconvenience. Don't be dramatic.

It will be a great success if Europe manages to avoid a big war next year. Everything that is happening in Ukraine now is, by and large, not a story about Ukraine, it is a struggle for the redistribution of spheres of influence in Europe. Russia is not satisfied with the current state of affairs, in which Europe is actually occupied by the United States and is under the protection of NATO. According to Russia, this is a threat to its security and generally destabilizes the situation in the region. I think following the results of the special operation in Ukraine, continental Europe will pass under the military protectorate of Russia. That is, Russia will be the guarantor of security in Europe and ensure stability in the region.

be, you are dreaming. Only with an increase of a 1% of GDP in military spending in the EU the military power of Europe would surpass the RF. And that is happening already - guess thanks to who.

Not to mention the abundant evidence given by the RF not having most of the claimed capabilities, the number of vehicles, the technology, the manufacturing capacity... This war has evidenced that the RF army is unable to reach any objective even against a theoretically inferior enemy, with a weaker economy and a bad starting strategic situation.

For example, and I take this with a "pinch of salt", a brit general recently declared: "I am going to inform Putin of something that his generals do not dare to say: You do not have enough artillery shells for fighting". An American sources says that there's a "critical shortage" of shells and even other war "staples".

Instead of dreaming of the great Russia, you should be waking up to the harsh reality of a broken system.
I just realistically assess the situation, it seems you are dreaming and fantasizing here. Europe is now almost completely demilitarized, its armories are almost empty. She would be happy to increase the supply of military aid to Ukraine, but she cannot. And an increase in military spending by 1% of GDP does not solve this issue in the near or even more distant future, because GDP percentages cannot shoot. And Europe cannot accelerate military production, because it is in a state of severe energy shortage and is more concerned about how to survive this winter on the accumulated gas reserves in storage facilities, and then how to fill these storage facilities again by next winter. Europe is not able to defend itself, it is forced to rely on an external security guarantor. Today it is the USA, tomorrow it may be Russia. Europe will fall under anyone who turns out to be stronger and spreads her legs herself. After the Second World War, this position is familiar to her.

What kind of genocide are we talking about?

The attack on the Ukrainian people with the intent of erasing them as a nation and/or destroying their country. That kind of genocide. It's been 10 months, try to keep up.
Nonsense. It is not Russia, but Zelensky who is engaged in the genocide of the Ukrainian people. It is he who consistently pursues a policy of "fighting to the last Ukrainian" and it is he who has legally banned himself from peace negotiations with Russia. This is the genocide of the Ukrainian people. Even if Zelensky achieves success in his strategy and continues his senseless war without a chance of success until the last Ukrainian, the Ukrainian people will not completely disappear from the face of the earth, if only because there are several million refugees from Ukraine in Russia and no one is oppressing them here.

I am surprised by the schizoid behavior of your behavior here and the behavior of your supporters in a virtual uncompromising struggle against Russian aggression. You are almost simultaneously boasting about the numerous successes of Ukraine on the battlefields, which, they say, a little more and the victory of Ukraine is not far off. And while complaining about the genocide. Decide already, is Ukraine winning or is it being systematically destroyed?
1099  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: December 29, 2022, 02:15:29 PM
I am not sure I am getting it. Are somehow stating that the RF has not bombed (and is still shelling and rocketing) civilian infrastructure? I mean, the satellite pictures show basically cities flattened and there is an obvious attack on power plants -which I cannot better describe than civilian infrastructure.

The Russian propaganda machine is quite gleeful about "bombing Ukraine into stone age", making Ukrainians freeze etc. They seem to have given up on any attempts to appear not totally genocidal. Veleor hasn't been able to reconcile the contradiction between "liberators" and "terrorists" yet, but I'm sure he'll get there eventually.
You are so saturated with Western propaganda that you don't even notice it. What kind of genocide are we talking about? Rocket attacks on energy facilities began in response to the Ukrainian terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge. The strikes themselves are targeted, civilians do not suffer directly from them. The schedule of missile strikes on power facilities is designed in such a way that power engineers have a chance to restore the supply of heat and electricity in a short time after each strike, which actually happens in practice. Basically, the suffering of civilians in Ukraine from strikes on energy facilities is not fatal, it's just everyday inconvenience. There would have been fewer of them if the priority for the supply of electricity had not been shifted in favor of the enterprises of the Military Industrial Complex. This is the choice of Ukraine and Russia is not responsible for it.

Two main reasons:

- Employment is linked to growth. Most countries only generate new employment when they grow above 2% or so. BRICS need more than that to generate opportunities for their young people, as usually population is also on the rise.
- Because investment is about risk versus benefit. A BRICS is by their own nature can only attract investment and financing by offering a great growth rate.

It is quite basic. BRICS often have "bad years" but very rarely have several consecutive "bad years", but anyway, if you think is going well out there... enjoy.
The unemployment rate in Russia is now at a very low level, it seems to be around 3%.

By investment, you probably mean external investment. Russia completely manages without them, investing funds from the National Wealth Fund or borrowing on the domestic market.

I believe that the current state of the Russian economy is quite satisfactory. Of course, it was not possible to completely avoid a fall in GDP in 2022, but it amounted to just over 2% at the end of the year, although a fall of 12% was predicted in early spring. The inflation rate at the end of the year was about 12%, which is comparable to the inflation rate in the European Union and much better than the inflation rate, for example, in the Baltics. Things are not going great, but much better than they could be.

I hope that you understand that if Russia will decide to destroy Europe, it will be the end of Russia. Don't forget that not Russia only have nukes.
It will be a great success if Europe manages to avoid a big war next year. Everything that is happening in Ukraine now is, by and large, not a story about Ukraine, it is a struggle for the redistribution of spheres of influence in Europe.
