1121  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When to sell bitcoin before the next bear market starts? on: February 09, 2023, 09:21:46 PM
To answer quickly, I would like to say : sell when BTC hit new ATH  Grin

This means that in 2021 you would've sold at 21k or something like that and in 2024 you're planning to sell at 70k. If that's your strategy, you can as well put a sell order right now and forget about it.

If I were you OP, I wouldn't try to catch the top. People who try to hard usually end up making mistakes and regretting it. Buy and focus on the long term. Don't watch the price, check it from time to time, maybe once or twice a week. You'll be healthier, more relaxed and when the pump comes you'll have months to decide if and when you're going to sell. A bull market is not going to end in a week.
1122  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What most gamblers do. on: February 09, 2023, 09:12:59 PM
because gambling can be an addiction for many people and this is not the problem of gambling itself but of people who allow themselves to be addicted. It's our human weakness.

I'll give you an example. I have a friend who is addicted to smoking and he's also a frequent drinker. I wouldn't call him an alcoholic but he's getting there. He also barely has any money, despite having a decent job. He drives the most destroyed car I've ever seen where seats are ripped to the point where he sits on bare foam, but he always has money for smokes and beer.

Also, this thread should be in gambling discussion.
1123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how many times have you intended to stop gambling on: February 08, 2023, 10:40:56 PM
Once and I've succeeded at that. One time in my life I've gambled away more that I could lose. It was early on when I had some spare money because bitcoin was pumping. It was in 2016 or early 2017. If I held on to that money instead of gambling with it I'd be able to gain at least x6 by the end of 2017. That's when I turned my habit into casual gambling and I've never lost big since that day.
I have everything under control now. No dicing, no big deposits, casual sports gambling not more than once a month.
1124  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's on! 2024 US Presidential Election Biden+Harris Vs Trump Bitcoin betting.... on: February 07, 2023, 09:15:57 PM
I think Biden has a chance if Trump were to win the Republican nod.  They are both so heavily disliked nationwide that I think it could turn out just like the last election did.

You're right. Biden probably won only because people had enough of Trump and his constant boasting. I'm the best at this, I'm the best at that, grab them by the pussy. Tongue

IMO this time there's very high chance of a woman president. People had enough of war mongering white, conservative, rich guy, so they voted for a black liberal, then again for something completely opposite, which was another rich white guy, and then again a rich, white conservative, because this is what they wanted but unfortunately the guy is too old for the job. There's a chance people will again want the complete opposite, which is a liberal woman, preferably not white.
1125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin Andresen calls it a "mistake" to trust CSW on: February 07, 2023, 08:49:03 PM
Gavin supported an obvious liar. I don't get how you could be so easily fooled. Craig never did anything good for the community. He's a narcissist who wants to use outdated centralized systems to influence bitcoin. A good examples of this attitude are patent claims and court cases where he tries to sue proponents of free speech. He thinks that the court can somehow give him rights to bitcoin. This idiot thinks he'll fight his way into history books.

Craig is sick, but what was Gavin's agenda here? What did he hope to achieve by supporting Craig?
Somebody should tell Craig that no matter what patents he gets and what court cases he wins, he can't turn back time.
1126  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Attack vectors for Hardware Wallets on: February 06, 2023, 12:47:34 AM
This may look a lot at first sight and you may think that Air-gapped computer is a better solution, but please visit this website to see some of their attacks vectors:
https://airgapcomputer.com/

There is NO perfect solution Wink

I haven't read all of it, but most of it and all these attacks relied on physical access.
They could make your computer transmit data through memory chips, keyboard LEDs, screen changing brightness, stealing and freezing memory chips, and so on. After reading it, I don't feel discouraged from using an air-gapped computer. If I ever face people who can break into my house without leaving a trace and modify my computer so that it starts sending data into a mobile phone network, I'm fucked anyway. They could as well drill a hole in the ceiling and place a micro camera that looks at my screen and keyboard. They wouldn't need to put a 100k USD worth of stuff into my PC to turn my RAM sticks into wifi antennas.

You can still get a $5 wrench, it's just not as good quality.
I still say that the BEST defense is not letting people know about your BTC holdings.
The 2nd best is having dummy wallets around. Leave some money on an mk 2 cold card, or an old trezor. Someone wants it, they can have it. The other wallet is someplace safe and secure. You need funds you take it out, move it to the wallet that is controlled by the other hardware and put it back. If I show up at your house to sell you an S19 there is no reason for me to know what you are really using as a HW wallet or how much BTC you really have. All I should see is what you want me to see. and that should not be a lot.

-Dave

I once saw an interview with a weed grower and he said that every person that knows about you doing it doubles your chances of getting caught. It's the same with owning bitcoin, the more people know about it, the more shit can come your way.

It's important to have safety layers that work with each other, as each layer adds security to the whole system. For instance, I live in a house where there's only one access road and both my neighbors have cameras pointed at that road. That's already a security layer. There's no way to get close enough to my house to access my wifi network without me knowing it, unless you're my neighbor. The house is big and a hardware wallet is very small. Even if someone somehow came looking for it, it would literally take him days to find it. As for the wrench, I chop firewood, he comes with a wrench, I've got an axe Cheesy
1127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: High Roller Tailing on: February 05, 2023, 11:51:50 PM
I rather not do it because high bet doesn't mean the person is going to win, although it has some vibe to it when you see someone placing a large bet you think that guy has to be confident in that outcome. There's always the other side of the medal though. Maybe that guy places a bet that's 1% of his paycheck. You think it's big money and to him it's pennies.
You can compare this to what Tate is doing. He was buying cars worth fortune just to show off because he had so much money. I wouldn't be able to afford one of those cars, so I could say that buying such car is a good idea since he's doing it, but it's not. Spending millions of dollars on cars that depreciate in value is a terrible idea even when you're rich. Rich people don't always know what they're doing and they don't always fall on all 4 Wink
1128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can anyone tell me what is the best way to gamble w/ BTC on online casinos? on: February 05, 2023, 09:34:43 PM
just to clarify, are you asking for an online casino recommendation or asking for a gambling strategy or both? because your title sounds like you are asking for some kind of gambling strategy and your post sounds like you are looking for a casino recommendation. anyway, if you are looking for a casino recommendation you might be interested in checking these two gambling casino review sites, btcgosu and gamblingbro

I think he's asking for both. He probably would want to see something like:
"I played on stake one day and if you start with 49% chance and keep playing martingale while decreasing your chances by % each round you will see that your coins will keep growing and adding up after a few hours you'll have 10% more, seriously, I did that 5 times already!" Cheesy

There's no strategy with those games each roll is calculated individually. It's not real dice where you can throw with left hand bouncing it from the side and you'll get 7.
1129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The future of CEX and no privacy world, will you still become an anonymous? on: February 05, 2023, 09:17:33 PM
It seems to me you are perfectly OK with Schwab's 2030 agenda.

Those people are crazy.

I don't know if any of you guys saw some of the panels at the WEF, but they're all about "we know what's good for you" and "this or that is dangerous for us. Us meaning the supporters and investors in the WEF, not us as the people of the world. They don't care what we think, they're only interested in their own agenda but are happy to hide that agenda behind all the eco babble.

Their perfect world is you and me not having any assets under our control and being happy, eating the food they give us, watching the tv channels they want us to watch, working in their factories.

Schwab said it himself, he's in the process of penetrating cabinets. Roll Eyes

1130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin hitting it's target on: February 03, 2023, 07:13:59 PM
There was a similar story a couple weeks ago about someone who paid his medical bill in bitcoin. I don't remember who made it. Was that you?

You guys do understand that OP is nothing but a ban evading bullshitter who makes up stories in order to scoop a couple of merit? Judging by all that praise and serious answers you obviously don't, or maybe you don't even care.
He is reported so hopefully his accounts get nuked and all posts deleted, liked it happened with the previous one.

Are you sure about that? Op claims to be a newbie Wink

Am new on this platform

You make all this effort and the next guy below you comes and posts praises like nothing happened. I'm a troll at heart so I have so much in here every single day when I see those brainless posts when someone doesn't care what the guy above him wrote, he just reads the thread title and maybe the first sentence of OP and it's typing time.

Then I check his last posts and literally in the post before the one in this thread he gives advice to someone else
Quote from: cryptoaddictchie link=topic=5437935.msg61703166#msg61703166
avoid spamming

You just can't make this up.

Also, If you haven't noticed, OP is on his way to becoming a millionaire. He chose the best strategy in finances.

I buy when the price is low and sell when the price increaseses.

1131  Economy / Gambling / Re: JupiterRising.xyz | MASSIVE Amount of Games!! on: February 03, 2023, 05:01:07 PM
And so all this turned out to be another failed project at best, I hope no one lost their money trying to invest them in slots in the first place.video which is for sale for $199.99, jupiterrising website.xyz is already just deleted and does not exist.

The developer cannot or did not want to upgrade his account to copper and he doesn't want to hire a designer, so what do you expect, people should not just trust a new casino without any effort and by the way, he just edit his announcement

Not "just". He was last active more than 3 weeks ago. If someone is not willing to buy copper or spend time on the forum to advance in rak so that he can advertise his casino himself, without posting links, you can see this is not going anywhere.
Nobody is going to invest in a person who claims to be years in the gambling business and dedicating years into building these games, but not willing to pay a few bucks to hire someone who would do payments for him, or someone who would test and promote his casino.

It's like with every single business you need to put money in to earn money from it. You can't expect to put in effort and a big smile and get people to throw big money at you. Such things happen from time to time like SBF managed to pull it off playing LoL, but he had his mom and dad pulling the strings with Gensler and politicians, so that doesn't count Wink

1132  Economy / Economics / Re: When your passive income equals or slightly above your salary, what would you do on: February 03, 2023, 04:49:08 PM
My choice in this case would be to quit my job, but I'm not saying you should do that.
I'm choosing this option based on what OP is saying about his job.

If I had a job that sucked and kept working to build my passive income and then it started to take off into something more profitable than my job, I'd feel like this is the time to quit the job and focus more on the passive income because it's growing even though I'm here working my ass off in a job that I hate. What if I dedicated all the time that I have to that passive income idea? Maybe I'd be able to double it in a few years and live like a king?

Is there a room to grow? Can I do something else? Am I able to sustain my family without my job? Will I be happy with less money that I'm earning now?|

These are things each of us have to answer before we decide.
1133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your earliest Gambling Story? on: February 03, 2023, 02:07:21 PM
I gambled for the first time when we were playing arcade games with friends. We used to go to arcade together and we all had a limited number of coins to play so we'd gamble witch each other by betting on games and certain players. We'd play mortal kombat and each person would bet a coin on themselves so that if they won they'd be able to play for free by getting the opponent's coin. If they won again they'd stay in the match and get another coin and be able to play another free game and so on. It was harmless gambling.
1134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Charitable Casinos on: February 03, 2023, 01:43:29 PM
It sound funny to be honest lol.

Many countries doesn't allow gambling activities, so it's impossible if there's a project want to create a charitable casino, because even though their intention is good, but they're breaking their country rules.

IMO charitable casino seems wouldn't survive in the long run because there's must be a lucky gambler will win big. Since the charitable casino doesn't have big bankroll because they've transfer their money to a charity or the poor, they will suffer a problem.

Yes it does sound funny because they're mixing an activity that isn't really something people aspire to do with charity. So they're trying to make people like casinos more because these ones are not so bad since they also help people. Hey, at least when you're losing money gambling it's for a good cause Wink

I've never played in a charitable casino, in fact this is the first  time that I hear about it. It's definitely a good idea, but makes me wonder how big is the part of the profits that they donate. I know of a few charity organizations that raise money for children and they keep more than 60% of the money for themselves. Sometimes as much as 90%.
1135  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Peter Zeihan - I Am Afraid Things Are Getting Much Uglier In Russia on: February 03, 2023, 01:26:01 PM
We all have subjects we don't know anything about, and when you are in business of being popular in the internet, people tend to except that you have a strong opinion about everything. I find that culture weird. It's like they are being seen as weak if they need more data to form an opinion. Him saying that bitcoin is a pyramid scam is more or less popular view that people were saying about altcoins while back and about NFTs right now. So i am guessing he hasn't really looked into it, or got that opinion from his friend who also has strong opinions. But i totally understand that opinion, it's the easiest one to have.

That being said, What he says in the video is pretty much spot on and it's really nothing new as it's public info anyone who has been paying attention knows already. But there's one more thing he clearly haven't mastered and that's editing audio. That was pain to listen with headphones. I am not sure, maybe the guy has a hearing loss or something but there was this humming sound blurring the voice. He should hire an audio guy to oversee the recording and mastering.

I agree this is probably not his view but something he grew into after watching enough of mainstream media channels. You can hear a lot of these people on TV. A good example is that actor from Gotham who testified in the FTX case, even though he's not an expert and shows that he has a very basic understanding of the thing.

I heard that and there's a very faint sound of tune in the background. I think someone added the humming and the melody behind it on purpose to create a feeling of tension among listeners but failed. The sound is just annoying, it doesn't add anything to the video.
1136  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: really no kyc crypto casino on: February 03, 2023, 01:12:56 PM
That's why when someone asks me if I'm trying different casinos and stuff I say that I don't. There's a lot of nice graphic layouts and fun games on these sites but I just use 2 in total where I'm verified. I'd really play on different ones if not for KYC. I just don't want my picture to circulate somewhere on the deep web. I feel like with KYC casinos are limiting the number of users and killing their own revenue.

Cloudbet is doing kyc and its joke, they ask you to make selfie outside with street sign saying your address, in same time holding today's date newspape + write "Cloudbet *and today date*" and in same time holding ID card

I think next thing they ask is nudes from my wife

That's a pretty good business model if you ask me. They can expand into a porn site from there or start an onlyfans profile.
1137  Other / Archival / Re: “Bonus hunter” in sports betting with multi-accounts using criptos? on: February 02, 2023, 09:33:51 PM
The post is pretty long and not everybody is going to have time to read it, so I'll get to the point.

Your family members don't care about privacy and/or don't know what you're doing with their private information. They aren't aware that it can be used against them, for instance someone could make a fake ID and use it to buy something on credit. You're abusing their trust by putting their private data anywhere you can just to earn a few dollars. If you and your family are very poor and can't find other ways to make money, I can live with that, but it's more probable you're doing it for your own benefit, because it seems easy and you're not risking anything.

How come a smart abuser of bonuses, a hunter as you call yourself, can't understand how crypto payments work? I thought you were smarter than those dumb casino operators who allow you to claim bonuses as all your family members without getting caught?

You're a menace. People like you are the reason why casinos have to put up those crazy wagering requirements and ask all the legit players for KYC. You're the reason why bonuses are getting smaller and smaller because people aren't claiming them to play in the casino but farming them with multiple accounts.

That's what you should call yourself, a farmer.
1138  Economy / Gambling / Re: I accidentally deposited to self-excluded stake.com account. on: February 02, 2023, 08:58:31 PM
I see no problem in the way the casino resolved this situation. He made a mistake and they don't want to allow him to withdraw because self-excluded accounts are blocked from both playing and withdrawing. It makes sense because a gambler may want to freeze the money on their account by self-excluding so that he won't be able to compulsively move the money to a new casino, where he isn't excluded.

I wanted to check this thread for an update from OP about his problem but so far I cannot find anything yet.

I would have guessed Stake allowed to withdraw from self-excluded accounts.
Maybe there is nothing new to add so the OP is quite for now. That doesn't mean the issue is resolved.

If they gave him an ETA, that's half way done. I don't believe a big player like stake would first tell him when the funds will be available for withdrawal and then not allow it. I'm sure if they lie and OP doesn't get the money we'll hear about it.

From the interactions i had with people on online comments sections I've learned that most people don't care and won't comment if a service was done well, but when there's a small issue they all come running.
1139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you still holding your coins #btc on: February 02, 2023, 08:48:34 PM
I still hold coins from 2015 and I'm going to do it regardless of the price. If I suddenly saw an exchange price of 100k USD tomorrow, I wouldn't sell because I'd be suspicious of this and feel like someone is buying us out with fiat money knowing something big is going to happen like a US defaulting on its debt or something.
I'd probably sell a bit like 0.1 to test them out in case this was some kind of a bug I could take advantage of, but that's all. I guess I'm attached to my coins in a strange way, or maybe I don't see a reason to give it up so cheap. I'll wait until I can buy things that I need directly, without having to go through fiat gateway in order to do so.
1140  Economy / Economics / Re: Berkshire Hathaway's Charlie Munger Calls for Crypto Ban in the US on: February 02, 2023, 08:35:38 PM
I was not very surprised by this saying when I learned that he is over 90 years old. These old people do not accept new things, and they cannot accept the idea that young people get a lot of money without making a lot of effort or investing a huge capital.

99 is not just over 90, for most people that's a vegetative state. My father is 85 and I have to often repeat things to get him to understand. He doesn't use a computer, needs a phone with speed dial to call people. I'm saying this because I don't believe Charlie's words are his own. People like that need help getting in and out of bed. He must have people who get him dressed every day and press buttons in the elevator for him. He must also have people who tell him what to say and when.

Having an old father and knowing some of his old friends I can tell you that old people get bitter and they look for arguments just to show they can still argue. Charlie talks about bitcoin because there are people willing to argue with him about it.
