Today on a $1.49 order from my store, the customer could be paying a 7 cent fee. This is a FAR better deal then Paypal or Dwolla but as fees have not changed it is now a real percentage of the order cost.
NOTHING in wide use in the real world competes with Bitcoin but here there is an impediment to micro-transactions. Is that important for Bitcoin? Do we want to ration space or cast a wider net and find new applications? These are issues that need to be decided.
I would like to see a smaller fee for smaller transactions with coins older then a month but right now all anyone has to do is use a client that allows no fees and wait for it. Unless the coins are really new should move.

I suppose if people are taking collecting my coins seriously, I might as well point out that the series 1 coins were made and distributed in prefix order, with 11xxxxxx being the first, 12xxxxxxx being next, etc. The lower the number, the earlier the coin.
And interestingly all of the higher priced coins are 13xxxxxxx 14 and 15. I have not seen (though some numbers are obscured) a 11xxxxxx or a 12xxxxxx yet go on ebay.

What is still unknown about the eBay auctions is who Paypal will side on when the buyer submits an "empty box" or "item not as described" dispute. It could be that scammers are raising the price, knowing that they will probably get away with a paypal chargeback if they return the item (even with a redeemed holo). It's hard to know whether $1,400 is a legitimate price for these! That could happen but it is not going to be anywhere near the majority of sales. The chance is lower for a physical coin then a virtual one as most of the virtual ones are hacked accounts. If someone does this, you (usually) know exactly who did it. Certainly not selling to new eBay users (setting terms), only ones in the country you live in, using signature confirmation and canceling suspicious buyers will reduce this chance.

I was at the gym yesterday and bitcoin was all over the TV's there on CNBC as well. This would be the first time I saw something on TV about bitcoin without searching it out myself.

I need a few risers and Dummy Plugs
In need of...
16x to 16x and 1x to 16x
If you have some let me know and we can work a price out. Will pay for shipping in U.S., prefer that risers and Plugs shipped together.
Can pay in Ltc or Btc
Thanks
I thought dummy plugs were no longer required. I have not needed them in ages.

I would really like someone to put up a bet on a date when they will have 5 mini rigs operating in paying customers hands in the USA (really want to see if any BFLers take the other side). Mini Rig casings are all garbage at this point but if they do not figure this out and ship, they will basically be shipping fire starters and bitcoin will draw the wrath of the ignorant media when some idiot burns an apartment (or dorm) down "mining for millions". I have ZERO faith they will send anything to UL which could have MO shut them down after they start shipping since most munis do not allow untested electrical devices in their municipalities for this very reason.
It would be a good bet to create, because nobody is going to be able to run a 1500GH/s (now 1250GH/s) Mini Rig SC in their home @ 8000w 120v x 20A USA You're kitchen might have a 2400w rated socket for your cooker, everywhere else will be 1800w. 230v x 13A UK might get up to 3000w max on the kitchen cooker socket. Many US homes have a 230v x 30A dryer plug. I have similar plugs for servers though not the same physical configuration. 7200W derated to 80% gives you 5760. That is about as high as you want to go and of course getting rid of that kind of heat is challenging.

It's a carbon-copy of bitcoin that offers nothing new. Essentially play money. Seconded It offers nothing new and is a waste of time and money. It offers a new beginning. It has already minted in 48 hrs what took bitcoin 4 months. And this is good how?

Wild speculation....
The could still use existing boards and chips to make Jallys.
The jalapeno is powered by 2 x 2.5 watt USB plugs. It was originally intended to be 4.5GH/s and 4.5 watt, but if the chips are more than 12% out of spec, the jalapeno will not run at all at 4.5GH/s. You're right though, they're saying the problem isn't the chips, it's the regulator, blah blah blah, but the jalapeno boards were considerably less populated than the other boards. They lacked a lot of the power handling stuff, the capacitors and such, that the larger boards have. You would think if it was a board problem, not a chip problem, the jalapeno wouldn't be affected, and they would be flying out the door. As originally designed yes. But with an external power brick and the original regulators (though more of them) it should work fine. It would need a heatsink as well, but again, they could still reuse those boards and components related to the original mini single SC.

A JAPANESE CORPORATION You have two cows. You redesign them so they are one-tenth the size of an ordinary cow and produce twenty times the milk. You then create a clever cow cartoon image called a Cowkimona and market it worldwide. They are Radioactive but nobody cares.

OMG! Japan is too close, mtgox will be affected by EMP! Sell Sell Sell!!!!
I have a feeling that the average Gox user would have a hard time telling the difference between EMP'd Gox and regular Gox. I think I could tell. Page cannot be displayed would come up a little quicker.

There really is no ambiguity. The only issue is how many of the points listed in the bet were not met. It is clear to anyone reasonable the TERMS of shipping were not met, the timeframe was not met and the no employee clause was not met.
It is great news that BFL has a working prototype of some form, but this does not meet the clearly stated terms of the bet.
It takes a LONG TIME to build up a reputation for a betting site. I really did like BoB and was a (small time) customer there. I will no longer bet there. This is a clear example that they make up the rules as they go along. Will a game be called a tie because it was close next?
That all being said, no scammer tag vote here. The mods can go after real scammers but they should not be the judge of the quality of a betting site unless the betting site actually steals customer money. And even under that this is a close call for me, because not paying out on a clearly stated bet is pretty close to stealing from the winner.

Very disappointed in Betsofbitco.in. This is a total copout. We all know they haven't shipped anything, and that the best they've done so far is cobble together a prototype that doesn't meet their advertised specs. Which is great! Congrats! But they soundly and completely lost this bet.
I had no money on the line for this, and if anything I would have taken the other side of this bet. I expected BFL to ship by now. I hope they fix their problems, build some working units, and ship soon. But they sure as hell haven't done that yet.
Exactly. The title of the bet is SHIPPED. They have not shipped anything. I too did not bet on this or any other BFL related bet.

Not worth anything. BFL has not delivered its product. The bet is WON. "Butterfly Labs will not ship" before April 1.
I agree, but betsofbitco.in said it was a draw! http://betsofbitco.in/item?id=701WTF?? I have no money in this. Clearly by the bet rules BFL did not ship. I can not see how betsofbitco.in maintains credibility with this decision. The primary reason is the title of the bet itself and the word SHIP. Nothing has shipped. Case closed. Beyond that: "Before April 1st 2013, at least one BFL customer with a bitcointalk.org forum account established prior to the bet's opening date shall post detailed and credible photos of the device on the forum, including photos of it operating, and report its hashrate. This customer cannot be a BFL employee. "
