1161  Economy / Reputation / Re: Vod is a liar. on: March 21, 2020, 04:43:37 PM
This thread has ascended past any discernible topic of discussion. It has now advanced: evolved into a stream of consciousness by part of the various participants.
This post will not be counted for any signature campaign.
1162  Economy / Reputation / Re: StonerStanley Retarded Attempt At Extortion on: March 20, 2020, 04:28:09 PM
Two wrongs do not make a right.

The purpose of retaliatory feedback is not amelioration of the situation. No, it is a grasp for pride - a meaningless pursuit of restitution - vengeance fuels further vengeance and begets suffering on both ends. Familiar with the tragedy of the commons? Even better, model it as a prisoner's dilemma with a trust matrix and you'll start to understand.
Regardless of the instigator, if you choose to continue a pointless battle, you have no one to blame but yourself. Further coercion of other participants only drags the battle onward until you decide to finally step back, take a look at the bigger picture, and cease the indignant whining.
1163  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bitcoin Chaser promotes shady & provably scamming gambling sites on: March 20, 2020, 04:19:44 PM
No, I didnt spend hours in order to give them links to all those scam accusations etc. - thats their job anyways when they are a casino review site, isnt it? Plus, we are talking about clear cases here...
Like I said, just offering another perspective. Though, as this develops, we do see something interesting.

Shocker that they only respond when given a flag! It's almost as if there's something called willful ignorance plaguing the waters.
I don't know their review process in full but clearly, if they're not diligent enough to search "<casinoName> scam" into any search engine and look over some of the results, then their word cannot be taken at face value lest we have a heaping serving of salt.

23, cheers.

A prime choice, I hope. Good luck to my fellow participants.
1165  Other / Meta / Re: Moderators Doubling Membership Fee Despite People Loosing Jobs on: March 20, 2020, 03:02:13 AM
So the fee was 0.0024 btc last week, then when bitcoin and the fiat markets started crashing, fee was raised to 0.0045. It's just a nasty thing to do at a time like this. Even from a 'symbolic' stand point - Not Nice!
Fucking capitalism! How dare they not give me free image-posting rights without me having to actually post something useful? These d--ned forums that don't have to allow me to do anything! Outrageous.

See, this is why we need to raise the cap of Bitcoin to infinity and give every single address an unlimited amount of coins to spend from.
1166  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bitcoin Chaser promotes shady & provably scamming gambling sites on: March 20, 2020, 02:43:32 AM
If someone is directly informed of scammy|shady behavior and still thinks there is no problem, then they clearly don't show any moral imperative to protecting others and should be reprimanded. The question that I have for you: did you send them any messages linking to the accounts or any relevant threads regarding the casinos, or did you simply leave it off with what you posted in the thread?

Of course, common due diligence implies that they would have investigated the users on Bitcointalk, but since this appears to merely be another advertising platform, it is uncouth to assume with absolute certainty that they investigated the users rather than the sites directly. Believe you me, I don't trust the sites at all (especially bitstarz) but blanket statements make for poor reason for removal.
Lucifer has me on speed-dial: the defense rests its case.
1167  Other / Meta / Re: [BitCoinTalk][COVID-19] Grim Reality on: March 19, 2020, 08:05:00 PM
By the way, there’s still a lot of fuzz around how the death rate is being calculated in different countries, and how it’s evolution is not necessarily due to clinical reasons, but rather statistical ones. For example, Germany seems to consider amongst the deceased only those where the Coronavirus was the primal cause of death. Other countries are considering those that, having died for any reason, had the Coronavirus.
Isn't causality fun? There should be some error margin to fix due to the fact that dying of the virus is more involved than "get virus -> organ failure" but the nature of accumulated illnesses after-the-fact can also be disputed.

This kind of meta-analysis should be sought after in order to ascertain the definitive death rate. What are the chances of X occurring in a human with these illnesses? Then, add a strain of covid-19... what are the elevated chances now? Perhaps sigma of the weighted delta probabilities would grant us some more closure on the death rate. I'm not sure how countries' reported death rates compare in relation.
1168  Economy / Reputation / Re: [overview] ChipMixer Signature Participants Statistics on: March 18, 2020, 11:18:47 AM
there might be one or two you have a loose trigger, so I preferred to warn him about it.
And those such users (given their existence) should reconsider the nature of rules and regulations from a causal state: that is, what is the intent of such rules?

Trouble often occurs when people become inchoate pedantic admin-pleasers.
That being said, aggregate (and public) stats usually don't require the acknowledgment of each individual, do they? Especially with a large sample size.
1169  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 12 HOURS LEFT Corrosive Creations CRYPTODECK (CLUBS) on: March 15, 2020, 04:15:25 PM
Also this is a lot like a shill bid done on last day to help seller.

I think this is not a good thing to do bid on every card on the last day.

I know you may not be doing a shill bid but it looks like a shill bid to me.
In general, it's better for bidders to wait until the end in order to maximize the chance of getting a lower price on their desired lots.

Assuming gabe wanted all the cards, this isn't out of the question. Just take a look at the previous auction threads and you'll see the psychology play out. Smiley
1170  Economy / Reputation / Re: Vod is a liar. on: March 14, 2020, 07:56:18 AM
I'm probably going to end up a target because I am honest and straightforward.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think I've been more of an dickwad than most people when it comes to DT members... Shitposts, mild trolling, a lot of rick rolls... if you want someone even more interesting you could take a look at TMAN.

All I can say is that if there's a point where the DefaultTrust system evolves to a degree where someone being objective and direct results in negative trust, I'd be one of the (presumably) many users that would justly counter... and if it were not the case, then the system would have been ravaged to such a degree that faith therein should only be reserved to the ones abusing it, or to those that don't give a shit about honesty.

Newbie: posts something
...
It's not a matter of if there's an alt accusation, but when.
You know how easy it would be to construct a couple posts that "fit" to the character/personality/prose of a user here, in order to fool others?

Probably really... fuckin'... easy.

Just remember, bozos:

1174  Economy / Lending / Re: If I have collateral why should I ask for a loan on: March 13, 2020, 07:56:15 PM
This is a good answer and I see it is right but even though I can do this sell it and making some money and then buy it again. But you know maybe the price won't go maybe go down.

your answer convince me but my opinion is sell it make some money and then buy it again this is better than get a loan while you have money

Thanks
If you take the perspective of an orthodox/conventional loan outside of the forum, some individuals might have assets that are held up or locked in some way. Though collateral requirements here require liquidity, it may be that users don't want to exchange (factors like KYC, convenience, etc. impact this) their collateral or that they simply want to keep coins in their current form for a coin-specific reason. A wild example (but possible) would be that of a PoS coin, wherein a user wishes to deprive the ecosystem of the potential stake amount that they would relinquish if they were to sell it to another user/exchange.
1175  Economy / Reputation / Re: Another Lauda topic : Can we review the feedback she lefts? on: March 13, 2020, 11:16:25 AM
Users shouldn't wait until they reach DT (and ideally it should work the other way around: people with valid ratings should be included).
This is what I've advocated. Logically, if you found out that someone was worthy of distrust, then you would want to note that for yourself. Since users are placed in DT0 by default, it shouldn't matter that other users don't see the feedback - the system in general is used to safeguard oneself from scammers and the like.
Yeh and then they worked feverishly for weeks to transcribe verbatim all of Lauda's negative trust feedback to ensure those who'd been on the receiving end remained showing negative trust by the DT1's.

Very few seem to have done due diligence and actually verified any of the instances of Red Paint he'd splashed around, however, now that you've re-found the topic I've managed to Archive [1a], [1b] the various participants for future reference before the denials begin.
Cheers. I was a prominent member of The Retaggening so if you find that any of my feedback is misplaced, feel free to let me know so I can alter them.

I do not recall the series of events in full but I do remember examining each block of references for the various users (alt chains that linked to the same references were merely checked for username consistency after initial verification)
1176  Economy / Reputation / Re: Vod is a liar. on: March 13, 2020, 10:18:13 AM
Just too many big forum members with NEGs trusts and red flags cos of unnecessary squabbles..... I barely see a big member here w/out a NEG! A waste of all the merits!
Controversy reveals decentralization.

Especially recent with the DefaultTrust changes, there's a vast network of users that have "trusted feedback" and thus it's not a matter of if someone will have negative feedback, but when. One would hope that only the most trustworthy users would be placed into the network but due to the nature of the election process, this is usually not going to be the case.

* actmyname sits back and watches as users attribute the claim of untrustworthiness to themselves
1177  Economy / Reputation / Re: Another Lauda topic : Can we review the feedback she lefts? on: March 13, 2020, 10:13:55 AM
Where's that old topic when Lauda got removed from DT and numerous users did their due diligence and reviewed the feedback?
Ah...
1178  Other / Meta / Re: Something between "show all" and the default 20 would be nice! on: March 13, 2020, 09:59:24 AM
Displaying 100 posts at a time would be very useful for quickly finding things in large threads.

isn't "search" function on the top right corner of the pages enough?
you can go to any topic with any number of pages like that stake your address topic with 540 pages and scroll to the top of the page and enter the term you want to search (eg. i searched my username) and it brings up the post that contains that term.
Classic XY problem, I see...

Quote from: XY Problem
The XY problem is asking about your attempted solution rather than your actual problem. This leads to enormous amounts of wasted time and energy, both on the part of people asking for help, and on the part of those providing help.
