Good Job
Quote
Lr = k(Y*X)
X = |(S-B)/B|
I agree with you that you need to find the X factor to measure change. Is this equation with correct results?
The absolute value of measuring the difference in value between two values divided by one of the two values is a measure that may lead to false results, although approaching the true value will be closer.
Try some charts to compare the willingness to pay in BTC and the price change.

In my previous analysis, I took the function without modulus and my point was explicitly based on the fact that if price on the day of expenditure is lower than the price on the day of income, people will tend to hold money rather than spending it. But later I found out that it works both ways. Let say if that value of Bitcoin unexpectedly rises on the day of expenditure, people may tend to hold bitcoins rather than spending them. Hence higher the value of X, more btc will be held. On the contrary, closer the value of X to 0, lesser will be the impact of X on people's tendency to hold bitcoins.

Quote
Do not forget that there are some effects where I can pay now if I expect a decline in independently or bad events.

Yeah, this may be an addition to above said equation in the form of another variable.
As you said, it will be better if I present this in the form of graph. I will make one in next day or two in my free time with more detailed study.
1163  Economy / Economics / Re: The Economic Analysis of Demand for Bitcoin on: November 04, 2019, 07:10:45 PM
Okay, it's widely known that Liquidity Preference Theory is a theory that explains why people prefer to hold cash. The problem is, Bitcoin is far from being cash so that this theory might not (all) be useful to explain the demand for Bitcoin.

Transaction motive
Bitcoin cannot be used (at the moment) for purchasing daily goods and services, because of regulation, scalability, etc.

Precautionary Motive
If you get sick, how many hospitals or doctors that accept Bitcoin? How many house or car repair services that accept Bitcoin?

Speculative motive
This one can be used to explain Bitcoin demand at the moment (to some extent). People hold Bitcoin to get quick access to trade altcoins.

That's true! Due to inherent limitation of scalability and limited supply of-course, Bitcoin can never be used as first preference medium of exchange in ideal society for transaction and precautionary motives. However, most of our Economics laws and rules are based on 'if' so I just tried to drive the comparison between cash and Bitcoin from one more perspective and you can say that this way too proves that Bitcoin is not a substitute to present currency system.

The Speculative Demand for Money is currently pushing most of the demand, but I think you should ad income generation as another option,
because a lot of people are using Bitcoin as a method to earn an income. This is currently helping people to earn an extra income from an employer
that are not necessarily from the same country. This is also very important, because it opens up a whole new income stream for people living in
third world countries. These people use Bitcoin for remittance and that is VERY important on the demand side.  Grin

This could be another interesting aspect. If freelancers or some sort of out-sourcers like KPOs or BPOs start charging their fees in Bitcoin then their clients would have to convert their money into Bitcoin first before remittance. This will create another sort of demand from income generation method. However, in Liquid Preference Theory, we study demand from the expenditure point of view.

If Darkstar has no problem to hold funds and give out money to winners every month, I don't think we need multi-sig wallet. Darkstar alone is sufficient to be trusted.

Spammers are usually short of money and therefore they can't invest in Yobit ICO. If there are no decent people on their forum, there is no way they can gain investors from their own forum.

When you have over 300K posts on your forum in a month, Google surely gonna crawl many of those and list these on Google Search. When you have organic crypto-oriented traffic coming to your site, even putting a broad header with 0.5% click-through rate can give you handsome number of investors.

"If you got big money, think of the bigger picture" - Yobit

I wonder what their end goal is... somehow converting those users (or readers, if there are any) to yobit users?
Yeah, I can't figure that out either.

May be I am completely wrong but this is what I assume the main reason behind the astonishing campaigning from Yobit merely for a forum: Yobit conducts IEO (ICO) once or so every month. Currently Yobit intimates users about these through email. But to increase the success of these ICOs, YoBit needs higher community participation. Due to bad reputation on Bitcointalk, it is hard for YoBit to announce IEOs on Bitcointalk. Hence they developed Cryptotalk as an asset to increase participation in coin funding and to catalyst their pump/dump operations.
1168  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: October 31, 2019, 01:14:26 PM
I was a little surprised bookies gave 1,4 on Real win so I took it.
We have a few more games today, i'm definitely going with Granada ML, i don't really want to see Barcelona at the top of the league  Cheesy

Barca hater. ahaan!  Grin
Granada is Leicester City of LaLiga. It may (very small may though) win league like Leicester did 4 years ago. However, it is too soon to put stake on Granada. This team has promoted from second league and currently its playing style is mystery for others. Once 20-25 matchdays will pass, Granada may start losing games. This season, most probably, [Barcelona, Real Socieded, Real Madrid, Seville and Atletico Madrid] will complete in TOP-5.
1169  Local / India / Re: Indian Govt Planning Ban on Crypto on: October 30, 2019, 09:15:57 AM
Since exchanges are not allowed to work in India, I don't agree with you on this one. Even if government issues some regulations regarding Bitcoin, it doesn't mean government can actually track all transactions done by traders. It can only give guidelines and it's up to traders whether they follow those or not. There will be very minute chances that government could actually catch the frauds in crytpo transactions.
If there is a regulation in India and if exchanges have to function in a proper manner they need to comply with all the KYC/AML regulation and even without any regulation all the exchanges were complying with those policies and if you are using fiat currency to purchase the coins then you need to use bank account and all the transactions are accounted for, so the only transaction that cannot have a record is face to face transaction and it has its own risk.

It is very easy to do bank-to-bank transactions without using exchange sites. There are escrows out there who can help you to carry out anonymous trading without any need to meet face-to-face. There is no track that the amount you received in bank or the amount you paid out is linked to Bitcoin buy/sell transaction. Even there are few P2P Exchanges which don't have KYC requirement. So no-one can relate transactions with any specific user there too.

Nice to be a La Liga fan this season...  With Real and Barca underpeforming and the likes of Granada and Real Sociedad overperforming, the supporters got a competitive (and unpredictable) league.  This should be a good year to win some vs the bookies.  Smiley

Lionel Messi begs to differ.
All bow to one almighty, greatest of all time. Seriously man, he can do anything!!
I was up whole night as match started at 1:45 a.m as per Indian timings. I was feeling dizzy in the beginning since I had a tiring day yesterday but as soon as Messi started his magic, I was literally dancing on the floor. By the time match ended, I was feeling like already having 8 hours sleep. Messi's performance refreshed my soul! LoL, I might be sounding like a moron but it's Messi effect.

Just for everyone's information: I am placing bets as per the OP's recommendations. Although it sounds foolish to bet by taking suggestions from some stranger over the internet but since I am not placing high bets so it's kinda fun only.
I did lose the bet yesterday but I would like to try OP's calls for few more days. Let's see how it goes.
1172  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: October 29, 2019, 02:40:10 PM

Premier League is most competitive than La Liga in General.
There are more teams with big budgets in Premier League than in La Liga. It is just this season where Real Madrid and Barcelona didn't get ahead of the other teams and the championship became competitive.

So if Man United or Arsenal lose, you guys say other PL teams are good and league is competitive. But if Barca or Real Madrid lose, you guys say these both teams are playing shit. This is not done! Many LaLiga teams are far better than most of the PL teams at this moment. For example. consider Chelsea and Valencia. These both teams are placed in same Champions League group and Valencia defeated Chelsea. But if we talk about home leagues, Chelsea is at 5th spot whereas Valencia is at 12th position. Except Liverpool and Man City, any LaLiga team can beat any of the rest 18 sides of PL.
1173  Local / India / Re: Ideas and Thoughts for celebrating 10th Bitcointalk Anniversary in Indian board on: October 29, 2019, 11:36:08 AM
The spam seems to be a major problem associated with starting a game as you have said. The topic would certainly generate interest among many spamming Indians present in the forum for free money, but as you have said they won't stay here for long and neither would contribute to the betterment.

Instead I got a idea something like, why not let us try to limit the donated amount to around 0.001BTC on November 22 and instead would conduct this sort of game for every month like "speculating the price on every 31st/30th of the month"? Will this work out? I guess everyone combinedly can contribute 0.001BTC every month which isn't a big deal actually. Only Indians who have done a significant contribution should post their speculative prices in the topic every month and rest of them would be neglected. Many veteran Indian bitcoiners have left this sub-forum due to the increasing spam which was present in 2017-2018 but they aren't now. Reporting to a far more extent helps us to keep the board under the control of Indian patrollers and drive away the spammers.

This is actually a good idea.
Let's limit the game to certain pre-approved members and play this game every month. It would be fun, long-lasting and spam-free. Perfect idea Heisenberg!
1174  Local / India / Re: Indian Govt Planning Ban on Crypto on: October 29, 2019, 11:33:32 AM
Indian government should regulate….

2 possibilities as follows…

If Govt bans the Bitcoin or Crypto in any way then a black market(cash) will start in parallel and Govt/regulator will never track the transaction….

That's true.

If regulates then each transaction will be tracked properly from Exchanges that who is earning/investing in crypto. And if investor is earning profit he/she has to pay taxes as per regulation of short/long term investment return….

If you look at their Ethereum wallet they have something like $9 million, I think that's enough money to pay for many years
Exchanges hold users' funds in their wallets, that doesn't meant all funds are theirs to spend on something else.

Even if we ignore hot wallets, Yobit still have huge reserves with them. They have paid over 10 BTC to signature participants here on bitcointalk and yet again refilled the wallet.
Not to ignore the fact, they are also paying per post on Cryptotalk. There are over 240K posts made on Cryptotalk in last 1 month or so. Even if we consider non-claiming rate to be 25%, it is still 240K*75%*0.1 = $18000 or 2 BTC.
I don't think they gonna ruin their whole reputation after spending around 15 BTC for the contest prizes worth just 2.3 BTC. Well the declaration day is just 3 days away, let's see how it goes.

I got my account credited soon after 1st confirmation. It only took 10 minutes as I added fees of 28 sats per byte. I think there is some kind of whitelisting for instant crediting of deposit too. Hope support clears my query on this.
1179  Local / India / Re: Many countries have cautioned on rushing into crypto currencies, says Sitharaman on: October 28, 2019, 06:20:58 PM
Well, that's the typical nature of a fascist government. They all love newer military technologies but hate newer financial opportunities!

When countries with progressive mentality is adopting cryptos, India is following the path of Bangladesh and Pakistan, which is indeed forcing us to go back in time! The impact is already being seen in the stock market and on various ratings from the international agencies like IMF and World Bank!

Even though a court case is ongoing in Supreme court about crypto ban of RBI, it's highly unlikely that the court will favor us! Even if the court favors us, government will simply place an ordinance to supersede the court directive! In simple term, this BJP government will not allow tech savy Indians to earn money through cryptos. Instead, it's better to open a cow dung and cow urine shop!

Indian government has too much control over economy which is not good for economy at this stage. India follows the monetary concept of 'Managed Floating Exchange Rate System' in which central authority has power to influence the market movements. In countries like US, Japan and New Zealand, system of Independent Floating is followed. Hence it was relatively easy for them to regulate Bitcoin.
I don't think Congress or any other political party would have done any different than what current government doing. If we really wanna see some radical changes in economy then there is a need to revamp economic policy completely by adopting independent floating. It will have positive effect on Indian Rupee as well as will open a path for Crypto Currencies. Although, it may lead to further widening of gap between rich and poor but governments over the years had 72 years to make change and if they were unable to create change over such a long period, I doubt any change will come in future. So better is if economy is leave to laissez faire.
