121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why not a new one? on: April 09, 2024, 09:03:47 PM
Why do you think we need another Bitcoin? Whatever will be created will be called altcoin or shitcoin. No one can compete with Bitcoin anyway. A lot of shitcoins circulating on the market aren't performing like Bitcoin. There are many Bitcoin forks also, but they have failed to compete with Bitcoin. All the new coins coming out are centralised somehow. No one can create a second Bitcoin. We are happy with Bitcoin and its technology. You can still accumulate bitcoin for whatever you want. So why seek out another? It doesn't make any sense at all.
122  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 2 cold wallets for my crypto assets on: April 07, 2024, 09:31:48 PM
I am wondering if I should leave the Ledger Nano wallet due to its closed source. I have ordered a Trezor hardware wallet, and after receiving it, I will move all the funds into Trezor. The ledger will be used for small funds only. Though no incident has happened yet about the closed source of Ledger, I don't feel secure with Ledger anymore. However, if you don't feel secure with Ledger, then don't use it. Yet we aren't sure if they have private key access. Due to closed-source software, we can't see what data Ledger has been sharing with us. Just choose an open-source hardware wallet like Trezor.
123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Feds transferred BTC from seized Silk road wallet to Coinbase on: April 07, 2024, 09:23:43 PM
They will sell it today or tomorrow. Unless they sell it at once, the market shouldn't react much. Because Bitcoin already pumped a lot and due to their sale, it won't be a be a massive dump. But if they decide to sell everything at once, then we may see a massive dump. Its just not for sale, but it will create a FUD, and investors will panic. I hope institutional investors will back massive sales. They are constantly accumulating Bitcoin, even at its high price. So buy-in demand is pretty high right now. Unless traders panic, Feds won't dump the bitcoin for selling it.
124  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think? on: April 07, 2024, 09:16:57 PM
We trust Electrum as a hardware wallet. If you can't afford to buy a hardware wallet, then you can use an Electrum wallet. But you need to secure your wallet seed safely. And the device you are using, the Electrum wallet, should not be compromised. The important thing is to secure your seed, and your device should be secured from the attack. Also, make sure you keep safe seeds in multiple places; in case one is lost, another will recover the wallet. But it is always best to get a hardware wallet.
125  Economy / Reputation / Re: [v2][Self Moderated] In Merits, Count Down To Your Next Rank... on: April 07, 2024, 07:53:29 PM
My Countdown to Full Member Rank
Number of Merit(s) left: 16 15 13
Congratulations, you are Full Memebr now.

My Countdown to Sr Member Rank
Number of Merit(s) left: 25 16 11 10

Congratulations, you are Sr. Member now.

My countdown to member rank
Number of merit(s) remaining= 9

I might leave you a neutral tag if you ask merits next time. You made a lot of posts, but you can't earn minimum meirts. You earned 1 merit, and are asking for 9 merits for the next rank. Why do you want merits, and why do you need member rank? This is really nonsense. You can't contribute to the forum, earn maximum merits for your desired rank, but ask for 90% merits. Just be careful next time.
126  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Two Kucoin Founders accused of violating anti-laundering laws etc. on: April 06, 2024, 09:55:58 PM
This is actually an indication of not using centralised exchanges. Because that's how exchanges anytime would collapse. They have to deal with different kinds of funds, so accusing an exchange for money laundering is pretty easy. However, though Kucoin said funds are safe and do not impact exchanges, there is still risk. I have actually withdrawn all the funds from Kucoin. I'm not going to use any big funds on Kucoin anymore until they fix everything normal.
127  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I need a guidance on: April 06, 2024, 09:49:29 PM
I am not sure of your intention to join this forum. So you should set a goal for why you joined this forum. Then you can focus on your goal. But your goal should be to learn from this forum and contribute yourself to the forum. This is considered a crypto academy from which you can learn everything related to crypto and then help the next generation. So I will advise you to read good-quality and informative posts as much as you can about cryptocurrency. Search on the forum for whatever you need to learn.
128  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the halving already priced in? on: April 06, 2024, 09:10:22 PM
To be honest, I don't expect a massive pump before halving. Rather, I am expecting a pump after halving. The last pump was due to ETD hype, which was almost gone. Now that Bitcoin is stable, it is likely that during the halving we won't see significant price movements. From past history, we have seen the Bitcoin pump later halve. So this time it would happen the same thing. It's because Bitcoin has already pumped and is now taking a break. We can say we are preparing for another pump that will break the $80K zone. Even not this year, but next year expect to trade above $100K in Bitcoin.
129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good bitcoin security starts with strong PC and mobile device security on: April 06, 2024, 09:05:11 PM
Using your mobile or PC for small funds would be fine, but for large amounts of funds, we must practice a hardware wallet. Device would be compromised anytime, even though you have been using VPN or some other software to protect your device.. Hackers are able to break your system since they use the latest technologies. So it is always better to use a hardware wallet from which you need to sign a transaction. I am using a software wallet only for small funds. Large amount holding on to a hardware wallet.
130  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What makes a post to be quality? on: April 05, 2024, 09:49:15 PM
If you don't know good English, you can't explain your expression in the in the right way. So besides creating good content, you must practice learning English. For a quality post, you have to write something that would be useful to others and not be considered spam at all. For that, you should know good English if you are going to write it on an English board. A post would be quality if you didn't know English but wrote on your local board in your native language as well. Criteria for a quality post should be in a useful manner.
131  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Now Official Currency in Lugano: Another Milestone for Cryptocurrency on: April 05, 2024, 09:41:21 PM
Accepting Bitcoin for payment tax doesn't mean it is legal tender, like in El Salvador. But it could bring positive changes to the Bitcoin community. However it does led Bitcoin as a legal use for their citizens. It's a kind of Bitcoin adaptation. Still, a lot of countries restrict Bitcoin use. First of all, we need to make Bitcoin legal everywhere, even if it is not a legal tender. So we can use it our own way. Developing countries like ours should take a lesson from how developed countries are adapting to Bitcoin and getting benefits from it.
132  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do we really need to blame fraudsters on: April 05, 2024, 09:19:53 PM
Behind each scam or hack, there is a story. Due to our irresponsibility, most of the scams are happening. They aren't physically attacking us. They have just been using some tricks, and we are falling for them. That's how we hand over our funds to scammers or hackers. Human means most of us are greedy, which drives us to lose our funds. When we see something lucrative, we usually jump on it, though there is risk. We don't want to research it very well and end up losing funds. Millions have been scammed every year due to our carelessness. If we don't want to help ourselves, then no one will help us.
133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you advise a friend in the same way? on: April 05, 2024, 09:10:42 PM
You aren't his legal financial advisor. So you shouldn't give advice this way. But you may explain to him about Bitcoin and how it works. He has to know what Bitcoin actually is and how it could be beneficial for him. So once he understands everything, he might make the decision himself. You can't compare other companies with MicroStrategy. They have a different strategy to accumulate bitcoin. They have a legal team to take decisions, and they are investing a part of the profits. So even during the dump, they don't need to be afraid or panic. So I will advise him to learn about crypto and make his own decisions.
134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are some major institutions investing heavily in bitcoins in 2024 ? on: April 04, 2024, 09:40:39 PM
I don't know exactly how many companies are accumulating bitcoin this year. But always, I have seen MicroStrategy around Twitter posting about their new accumulation. Due to ETF, many brokers, including BlackRock, are heavily investing in Bitcoin. As a result, we can see Bitcoin flying around. So definitely, new institutional investors are having a huge impact on Bitcoin value lately. I think more institutions will be interested next year, especially when halving ends. There would be another bull trend later halving.
135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How safe is saving screenshots of useful information and BTC transactions? on: April 04, 2024, 09:32:53 PM
Saving screenshots would be good if they're not privacy-related. Those who are related to Bitcoin care about our privacy. Related to crypto, he should avoid taking screenshots of crypto transactions or wallets. Sometimes our friends could check our phones, and they might see our balance, etc. Also, a phone might be stolen where thieves could check everything from the screenshot. Ask your friend to avoid such habits for privacy reasons. And give priority to privacy.
136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I learned something new from Bitcoin today on: April 04, 2024, 09:22:02 PM
It's a little bit confusing to understand your post. However, it's a bit of an indication of investing in Bitcoin rather than gambling. So at this point, I pretty much agree with you. When you are buying bitcoin, it still exists in the same quantity, though the value would go down. For example, you buy 1 bitcoin at 70K, and right now it's 65K. But you are still holding 1 bitcoin. When you gamble, you either win or lose. For Bitcoin, it would recover after a year or a couple of years. So at the at the end of the day, you will gain at some point when investing in Bitcoin.
137  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can I really hold onto my bitcoins in the future? on: April 04, 2024, 08:56:42 PM
For me, if this is the situation where I can start a small business and support my family by selling bitcoin, then most probably I would sell it. Bitcoin is for life, not for lifetime holding. After starting a business, I will try to buy back Bitcoin again through the DCA strategy from my business profits. So I can support my family and accumulate as well. If you can't trade Bitcoin and make money, then for survival, you need a real-life business or job. Otherwise, life will be like hell. Now you have to make decisions based on the circumstances. We don't know your real situation, actually.
138  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Tornado cash founders charged with money laundering/sanctions violations on: April 04, 2024, 08:46:46 PM
So I don't know whether Binance will restore my account. However, it seems pretty risky to use any kind of mixer. Either the government or centralised exchanges will catch up.
They cannot know that the money comes from the mixer, but their verification algorithms will try to freeze any account they suspect, especially if the mixers are of the Tornado Cash type, where there is a Contract Address. Therefore, if you want to enhance your privacy, it is better to use Bitcoin mixers, or at least exchange Bitcoin to Monero and then Back again to Bitcoin.

Contact Binance. They will ask you for the source of the funds. If you are able to prove their source, the account will be restored.

I have contacted them. Though they haven't asked for anything yet, the account has frozen. They need 30 working days, according to them, to make a full investigation. After that, they will let me know what the next step is. I have provided proof that I received those funds for marketing through their live support. But it doesn't help unlock my account immediately. A few days remain to reach 30 working days. I will make a post after their decision. Usually I don't store funds for exchange, but those funds are there for daily trading. Still, they allow trades but disable withdrawals.
139  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What's your next step if you experience a Great BEAR MARKET ? on: April 03, 2024, 09:52:32 PM
For me, I will leave my cryptos for the next bull run. Because besides crypto, I have been holding some stable coins that would be fine to survive till the next bull run. Rather, I would accumulate more crypto during the bull market. No point to sell at loss anyway. Whenever I sell my holding, I regret it forever and am never able to buy it back. So I will not panic; I have a hardware wallet and will leave my bags there.
140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Need some ideas on: April 03, 2024, 09:46:18 PM
Good initiative. As we know, it's very important to secure our funds when we are in crypto. So you have to focus deeply on wallet services first. Another important thing is to make them clear about how Bitcoin works and how volatile it is as well. So when they were perfectly informed, they would take the right decision at the right time and not regret it at all. Teach them about using centralised exchanges also; it's very important to choose the perfect exchange and let them know how exchanges often scam and freeze accounts. Overall, we need to make sure all the funds are safe.
