121  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAMMER] 50BTC.com on: March 30, 2014, 03:36:16 PM
After nearly 6 months, having lost my patience with 50BTC, I've decided to break my silence regarding my situation.

NO ONE SHOULD BE MINING ON THIS POOL

I started mining on this pool back around the end of August 2012 and for the most part was satisfied with the pool. On October 17th i was able to perform my last payout from the pool before 50BTC blocked miners from making any payouts. Keep in mind that I would often do twice a day payouts to minimize the amount I left in the pool. When payouts were blocked, after a few days I started moving my farm over to another pool. I completely moved my entire farm off 50BTC after 7 days. According to my estimates, and multiple emails and skype conversations I have had with 50BTC, I had in the vicinity of 15BTC in my account with them.  Balance was probably more, but I am satisfied with the 15BTC estimate, as that correlates well with another account on another pool I had at that time period. My farm, fortunately, was split between two mining pools. After a rather lengthy conversation with them on skype on February 17th, they sent me a payment of ~.2 BTC. Since then I have heard nothing from 50BTC.

I believe I have been as patient as possible, having hoped that this pool would come thru, but that doesn't look like it will happen.

Once a thief, always a thief. Honestly, I don't understand why anyone mines on this pool anymore.  History has shown us that mining pools that go bad eventually die.  The death for this pool cannot come soon enough. It was nice knowing you 50BTC, but I wish you a painful miserable death for the way you handled the situation.

VOTE WITH YOUR HASHES! TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW NOT TO MINE ON THIS POOL.

There is a cgminer fix for HW errors in the github 4 days old... how do you update just the cgminer?

clear
cd /usr/bin/
wget http://kano-kun.net/AntS1/cgminer-ants1-4.2.0-00567a4
chmod +x cgminer-ants1-4.2.0-00567a4
mv cgminer cgminer.original
ln -s cgminer-ants1-4.2.0-00567a4 cgminer

https://github.com/kanoi/cgminer-binaries/tree/master/AntS1

kano is a good egg. Wink

How could I implement this across 14 different units at once?  its a pain to open up 14 SSH modules and input these steps one at a time for each.

No one said it'd be easy Wink

Check out dsh (distributed shell)

apt-get install dsh

OK fixed now

what is the freq_value for the 393.75 chip freq does anyone know

How'd you fix the bad antminer??  Please share.. trying to get one of mine up to full hashrate too..
125  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: March 24, 2014, 05:07:44 PM
well at the time of the post i was only getting like 90ghs after a powerdown and 10 min wait i am now getting 171ghs that is very slowly falling and now i see this

Chain#   ASIC#   Frequency   Fan     Temp                             ASIC status
1                 8               350            2280         44           xxxxxxxx xxxxxoxo xoxoxoxo oooooooo
2               32              350               0              49      oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo

I have the exact same problem with one... It's mining at about 140GH..  Looks like a bunch of the inductors on the blade with the xxx's are cold..
Tried emailing info@bitmaintech for support... no reply yet..
126  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [850 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: March 21, 2014, 02:29:40 PM
Not true. There's plenty of information about how to maximise income by hopping proportional and scored proportional pools.
That is so, but I doubt that most of our pool hoppers are sufficiently savvy for that kind of strategy: they appear simply to be chasing past success, like punters trying to bet on a known result.

Ah, well then. That's not pool hopping, that's just being silly.

pool hopping? what's that?
* abracadabra reminisces... ah yes.. the good ole days..

Josh did tell people he would bet BTC on it being right and delivered on time.

Wonder where he's at with that wallet of his. Smiley

If BFL keeps offering people product upgrades and refunds they'll never have to worry about shipping a product.
128  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: March 18, 2014, 03:14:03 PM
This is a newbie question. I'm sure the experts here know this at the top of their head.

I have two Antminer S1s and both an AX1200 and an RM1000 at my disposal (from earlier desktop builds). The Antminers are overclocked to 393 clock.

1. Which power supply should I go with?

2. Since AX1200 has higher efficiency, does this mean I actually use less watts at the wall? Trying to balance out the circuit. I also run a desktop pc on the same circuit with an HX850 (running an OC-ed 290x and 4770k processor). The circuit is 110V/15A.

3. Can the circuit take a third ant?

I saw that someone say that one of the optimal configurations is to run 3 ants on two corsair 750M. There are enough PCI-E cables to do this and you can run miners overclocked (with enough power). I have this setup, but did not overclock yet.

I run 2 Dell N750P per 3 Antminers. 1.5 antminers on one psu and 1.5 on the other.

each PSU is supplying about 600W giving me about 150W headroom and 80% usage per psu.
129  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: March 18, 2014, 03:36:48 AM
Any suggestions to try and fix one blade that appears to be hashing with only 16 asics?  The other blade appears fine with 32.  Total hashrate is generally about 130-140GH at 350MHz.

I had similiar problem with some other units and a reboot cleared them right up.  This one though a reboot does not appear to be helping and there's an interesting pattern of XO on the asic status which is consistent.  I'm thinking maybe an inductor or VR failure on the bad board?

No suggestions?

 Sad
130  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: March 18, 2014, 03:36:26 AM
So what do you guys think, will I be able to overclock Two Antminer's with this PSU?  Or am I pushing my luck?  It peaks at 825W

If anyone's wondering I'm running two Antminers at stock speeds on this seven year old 750W power supply, stable.

Don't overspend on costly PSU's

They are now only worth 700$ new and working, I can offer 700$ total + 50$ shipped to USA.

Avalon 200Ghz miners are only worth $700 now?

Not sure I'd even pay $700 for 200GH/s right now.
132  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: March 17, 2014, 10:33:11 PM
I've just got  my first S1 Antminer and there's now way to log inside. I've tried 192.168.1.99 and 192.168.2.99 on different computers and also switching Wifi off. No way. Advanced IP scanner is finding nothing. I'm powering it with a Corsair 750X. Three leds turn on (1 yellow, 1 red and 1 green) and the green one is blinking. Antminer was shipped without any manual and I had to look for instructions on the web. This is my IPconfig on a Win8 laptop (sorry if it's in Italian):

connect directly to the antminer from your laptop.
ensure LAN lights on antminer ethernet port are both lit.. (yellow and green)
after a few minutes of the unit powered up..

ping 192.168.1.99

no ping?  reset the unit using the switch on the router of the antminer.

use InternetExplorer to access the antminer web page.

OoC,  have you managed to determine which, if any of these "unknown" addresses, are Bitmain's? They claimed that their products were/are powering 20% of the network.
135  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Server Power Supply Interface Board - for standalone miners and GPU rigs on: March 16, 2014, 09:07:59 PM
I'm looking forward to your DPS-2000BB board because I just got one running and it's a real monster.

I'm showing a 6.3A draw at the breaker with four overclocked Ants (2@375, 2@400).  It's max draw is 13.5A so I'm guessing I could easily put 2 maybe 3 more Ants on the power supply.

Each Ant has a dedicated 14 gauge wire back to the supply.  The wires are a little warm so 12 gauge is probably the better choice.  Once the power gets to the Ant I break it out with these cheap adapters from monoprice,

http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=102&cp_id=10245&cs_id=1024503&p_id=2883&seq=1&format=2

I just cut off the molex ends and use twist nuts to tie all the wires together.  Even though it's 18 gauge wire they are room temperature.

Best part of all this.  The supply only cost me $30 on Ebay  Shocked

Why are you flip flopping the antminers around like that?

140  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: March 14, 2014, 03:17:53 PM
assuming this is the same design as the S1:

if this unit has 640 chips (20 boards) vs. S1 64 chips (2 boards).  Theoretically you could overclock this to 2TH.
you need to take into account that the S1 has some nice heatsinks on it.  The S2 might be able to get away with no heat sinks or extremely small heatsinks dissipating 1000W over 20 boards.
That's only 50W per board.  If you go and start overclocking, you'll

1 - Need to install a bigger PSU
2 - Need to install bigger heat sinks

Neither of which would fit in the existing 4U S2 case.

More info from Bitmain would make the purchasing decision easier.

Keep in mind, I have nothing against Bitmain, and in fact I'm a very satisfied customer having ordered quite a bit from them, multiple times. I'm not a big fan of keep wraps on products when they already exist and teasing everyone, hoping to generate interest.  Especially with all the crap from BFL, HashFast, etc. You got something, let's see it, and let the product sell itself.
