Theoretically from what I have seen in the white paper this should be able to work. But its going to take more work to produce a smooth polished attack vector free version than any other crypto scheme anyone has ever devised. Lets be honest. It will probably fail (I said the same thing about bitcoin in 2010) despite being technically theoretically probably possible. But pass me those dice, I'm ready to roll. Grin

Agreed, it's well worth the risk, I'm pretty confident in CFB's abilities, he's always a step ahead. If it succeeds, it will be on a whole other level that transcends what we consider crypto mainstream adoption.

I may have to buy some of this crapcoin.  I saw a lot of people think it's a top candidate to hit $1 billion.

Lol, yes, it's definitely a candidate to hit $1bil. The team has accomplished more real business adoption than most any established coins and it hasn't even hit an exchange.

So Foundation needs to put 2 T

Nope, WE need to do it. I'll send 1 Ti. Can someone send the other one please?

edit: 1 Ti sent, C9VWMHFHUBJJHRTBVHFNBSOWNNVIZSVVE9JHLRZTLKEKELFCDTUZGJWYTAVPDTNMQHZFNPKX9FIVC99 99

I'll send the other

We hit 40Ti, guess Luey can send his 3TI now, and we should get another 5Ti from Jason on Slack.
Luey has confirmed he sends 3 Ti soon. Smiley

Great, thank you Luey.

Luey has made it quite clear he is waiting until 40 btc. He has been asked many times to donate earlier. We should respect his decision and continue to ask others to contribute.

Quote
luey forje [8:37 PM]
nope, i stand my case, i need it to get 40Ti. Those have not donated yet need to rethink again, Those that donated 5% or 10% think again as well. Coz im putting much more.

Great, so we'll be sitting at 37Ti indefinitely. Roll Eyes There aren't any more whales left to donate, we won't hit our goals until Luey and the other whale on Slack donate.  Big Deal needs to be done today, so just donate your Iota already.
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: September 01, 2016, 12:55:06 PM

37.0101 Ti // 50 Ti

i think i have miscalculated the amount . luey has already donated 2T so we need 3T more at the VERY MINIMUM on top of what pledged.

i have donated 3Ti+ to bigdeal already. 3Ti more will come when it reaches 40Ti.

Why wait, just send the 3Ti, if everyone waits for milestones we'll be stuck at 37 for another week.
129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: September 01, 2016, 02:08:10 AM
Alright, sent my 6TI to Big Deal
130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: August 31, 2016, 02:57:28 PM
you can dl the latest iri here https://www.dropbox.com/s/6g7j3hs92zjbife/IRI.zip?dl=0 (updated every hour).

n1, 6Ti would get the total moving again

Very helpful, thank you

I will up my donation to Big Deal to 6Ti, still having issues at work with client and am traveling but I will sync client at home tonight and send. Can someone post the most up to date IRI DB zip file? I see others are waiting to hit milestones before sending, but everyone should just send what they promised regardless of total Iota, the closer we get the more people will donate to get us to the goal.

Everytime I run the client and try to send Iota (to Big Deal) my internet connection is cut and I have to reset my router. Never run into this problem with any other crypto client. Any ideas?

I'm using v 1.0.3 and the link below, it saves having to sync, just unzip it straight into the IRI file.

http://forum.iotatoken.com/t/hourly-backup-of-iri-database-download-link/527

This works perfectly for me and I can send coins very quickly any time I try. Smiley

I have heard others having router/internet connection issues with v1.0.4

This way is working perfect!

I just made resync from that DB and made 100%tx without any problem!

Try it!

Definitely working better for me, will finish syncing tonight and send my Iota.

As a developer I tend to stay out of this type of discussions, but I would encourage everyone that trust our vision and execution to donate to BigDeal, it will open big doors that will bring a lot of new devs and investors to the Iota ecosystem. If you trust our vision it should be an easy choice.

Okay, count me in for 5Ti, will send once I get home and sync client

Hi, msin!

Are you still with us? We stuck at 29.7 Ti.

Yes, my client was having issues but you can count me in for 5Ti.

It's not a good choice. The community has to take its own responsibility. Even the largest whales of Ethereum, or even the founder (Vitalik) himself only had 1% of total ethers, now he has more like 0.5% iirc. People need to just ask themselves: "Given the amount of IOTA I hold, am I contributing even remotely as much as Vitalik did to Ethereum?" if the answer is  "No", well then you're doing something wrong.
I've reiterated this so many times since day one back in October that it just feels tiring even saying it at this point... If we reach 45 Ti, then perhaps the Foundation can indeed put in 5 Ti, but come on people, stop playing the victim of your environment, you got the choice of your and IOTA's future in your own hands, do something with it!

Sure, makes sense, hopefully whales will step up, I've donated to both.
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: August 24, 2016, 11:12:41 PM
Manual Claims have not yet been counted, but so far only make up a few more %, will be processed this week.

We will adjust the goal to 50 Ti. With this minimum I am confident that we can squeeze the main and necessary goals out of the negotiations, but time is ticking very fast. For all those who have not yet donated I got one question, are you really willing to risk 2-5-10x increase by refusing to part with 0.02 or 0.010x of your stake? Honestly? I would love to chat with such an individual just to get insight into what sort of fascinating pattern of thinking gave rise to that decision.

In all seriousness. 50 Ti is nothing, we as a community should be able to achieve this. This event is something we'd have 4 premium speaking spots spread out over 4 days at if this Big Deal had gone through already. There are several more of these events and equally important things on line, are we as a community going to let it go to waste over ~2% of the collective stake?

David, how about using some of the Foundation funds to fund the Big Deal? If it's concerning adoption/marketing it could be Iota well spent. Keep the Foundation addresses up and running so we can continue to contribute to the Foundation.

I know msin that you already donated 10% of your stake to Foundation (thank you very much)

I donated over 20% of my stake to Foundation.
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: August 24, 2016, 04:32:02 PM
We all want IOTA cost as Ethereum, 1 billions dollars, isn't it?
Then we need, as Ethereum, to get REAL BUSINESSES ON BOARD!
PAY FOR IT! It may be the one life changing chance!

Not a great comparison as Eth holders didn't have to donate anything. The issue I see is that a lot of whales have sold OTC and OTC buyers are much less willing to donate large amounts because they paid a premium for their IOTA. I don't see Big Deal going through unfortunately, but we have a really strong Foundation fund and should move on.
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: August 11, 2016, 10:50:32 PM
Really great stuff, excited to see what's in the works. I also encourage everyone to fund Big Deal. You need to really think of Iota not in terms of how much you own, but rather the value of the entire Iota ecosystem. Owning 1% of nothing is still nothing, if everyone pitches in we can bring in real legitimate business to Iota.
