I may have to buy some of this crapcoin. I saw a lot of people think it's a top candidate to hit $1 billion.
Lol, yes, it's definitely a candidate to hit $1bil. The team has accomplished more real business adoption than most any established coins and it hasn't even hit an exchange.

Wooow so addresses aren't deterministically derived from the login seed/password? I uninstalled and reinstalled and now it gave me a new address and a zero balance but I never touched the working directory. Unless windows deleted the working directory on its own when I did the uninstall. But that would be very a-typical. No cryptocurrency I have ever worked with has had its working directory deleted during an uninstall.

It's derived deterministically. Check extra spaces in the seed.

So additionally to all the features, IOTA could replace FACTOM as it seems to have the same characteristics of ensuring data integrity but for free... Am I right,if yes that would be awesome. Besides, David, do you think that the manual claim for thoses who have donated for the bid deal will receive their IOTA this weekend? Yes, indirectly IOTA makes Storj, Maidsafe and Sia obsolete. The two core features of IOTA core is Settlements without fees and Data Transfers without fees, since these are the 2 essential ingredients to IoT, combine the two and you have a superior system to all these other projects by default. And I personally believe that it's way better to have all of these technological resources, whether it be storage, processing, electricity, bandwidth or whatever trade in 1 'Economy-of-Things' rather than split each resource into its own token. Manual claims that have contacted via contact@iotatoken.com will be processed in the weekend/early beginning of next week, yes. Is there a chance that manual claims will be processed today? Any update ?

Found the address. Rebroadcasted, replayed and rebroadcasted again for good measure, yet still shows 0 balance. Is 1.0.4 really broken? Because 1.0.5 doesn't appear to have a gui yet. Status bar reads

Status bar reads I have written the detailed reply in slack #general. 1.0.4 is not broken, but 1.0.5 is comfortable and is used from the particular TX. Your client is not synchronized yet. You can either wait until your client is sync or simply download IRI files. The TX can be compared with #botbox.

Well guys I'm officially part of the club.
Yay! Good to know! Welcome Theoretically from what I have seen in the white paper this should be able to work. But its going to take more work to produce a smooth polished attack vector free version than any other crypto scheme anyone has ever devised. Lets be honest. It will probably fail (I said the same thing about bitcoin in 2010) despite being technically theoretically probably possible. But pass me those dice, I'm ready to roll.

Agreed, it's well worth the risk, I'm pretty confident in CFB's abilities, he's always a step ahead. If it succeeds, it will be on a whole other level that transcends what we consider crypto mainstream adoption.

For those who do not read the slack, here is the IOTA plan as described by David:
We're still very early on. Softlaunch Stage 1 out of 3
Stage 2 will include modules built on top of IOTA, GPU Hasher and Flash Channels (Lightning/Raiden equivalent). Stage 3 includes hardware hasher impementation, meaning each device with this can do thousands of tx/s, which is effectively unlimited scalability

it's the one-click installation and really very easy. Better ask in slack if you have any questions.

Is it just me or is there an unusually high proportion of legendaries in this thread. Not saying anything more than that. I don't know what it means if anything. Just an interesting thing I noticed.

Found the address. Rebroadcasted, replayed and rebroadcasted again for good measure, yet still shows 0 balance. Is 1.0.4 really broken? Because 1.0.5 doesn't appear to have a gui yet. Status bar reads You can download 1.0.5 and simply rename it to iri.jar then replace the iri.jar in 1.0.4 GUI version and you have your own latest gui. it is working for me. The directory for that is a little different to the tangle (transaction) files. C:\Users\ name \AppData\Local\Programs\IOTA Wallet\resources\IRI it will not show 1.0.5 in Client background but you can see it in Tools>Show node info>appVersion 1.0.5
