1241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Zora Airdrop Speculation on: November 30, 2023, 12:03:16 PM
We have learned from so many old cases that if the platform like zora might put bridge to the its platform as one of main requirement to be eligible for airdrop.
You're right if anyone may be able to post it without bridged their ethereum but will it also affect our eligibility? I meant the user who bridged ethereum may have a greater chance to be qualified for airdrop from zora in the future.

Certainly right, but if one doesn't have funds, posting something on Zora I recommend bare minimum.

they have stated many times that there won't be any airdrop though.

Ah! I don't heed that statement. Because, many projects say so to avoid being farmed and eventually launch a token.
1242  Local / Off-Topic (India) / Re: Let's Discuss About Movies and TV Shows! on: November 30, 2023, 05:07:50 AM
Thanks for this thread, you made me go down memory lane to check shows/movies I enjoyed, list will be too long if I were to put them all here. Anyway in recent times these are few I liked :

1) Scam 1992  2) Criminal justice first season (hotstar one, not hollywood) 3) Death at funeral 2007 4) Bloody Daddy 5) Zara hatke zara bachke 6) Snatch 7) The Pianist

All I can tell about these is I enjoyed them when I watched them. I have no idea about plot and such anymore, you can search names on Google and it'll show where these can be watched.

Right now, I'm waiting for Animal to release tomorrow.

The match we had with New Zealand vs Pakistan in the 2023 World Cup I saw  match, New Zealand set a target of 400 runs to Pakistan. Unfortunately New Zealand could not win that match. Pakistan won the match due to rain due to rain. After Pakistan won that match, the New Zealand captain said that Pakistan was the favorite team and lucky.

In that match, Pakistan knew it could rain so they played aggressively and won due to luck, afaik just before curtains were put over for rain, Ish Sodhi's over where he gave 20+ runs put match in Pakistan's side, but still were Pakistan to chase full 400 score, they'd have probably lost the game.
1244  Local / India / Oh digital rupee is already live!? on: November 30, 2023, 02:25:11 AM
I was checking my mails and came across this mail [1] from hdfc. I was surprised to see digital rupee already live. So I decided to give app a try, process of registration was relatively smooth, after registering I tried to load wallet with 10 rupee, funds were transferred from my bank account but digital rupee never showed them  Huh

Aside from that obvious problem, interface (mostly) works but is quite ugly, some options are bugged, there is field called "activate mobile number" in wallet section, you are supposed to activate to receive money with mobile number, if you click it, it'll show success pop-up but nothing actually happens.

You are also given wallet address like crypto blockchains do, can't figure out how to see this address fully (will they have explorer?), it was shown fully during registration, now it's hidden with stars.

Hopefully, paytm/phonepe will adopt it whenever it's ready, and give it a better ui. Better customer support too.

I read it works with upi qr codes, so it's really good thing.

p.s. I'll update post when/if I receive loaded 10 rupee

Edit: Received the refund in bank.
1245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Zora Airdrop Speculation on: November 30, 2023, 01:52:34 AM
Today, Zora unveiled on mirror that you can post on their platform without having any eth whatsoever. I consider it a big deal cause requiring money to enter kinda gatekeeps the platform.

Mirror post: https://zora.mirror.xyz/LTBHZHk9zAQiK4n-CxPi_g_PjQ8jjGnArfZ_UJz0ILM

Post: http://zora.co/create

Since this doesn't cost anything, it may be wise to give it a try, just upload something!

1246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Cosmos projects airdrops speculation on: November 30, 2023, 12:35:30 AM
I don't think the Cosmos project is as interesting as Solana at the moment.
I see Solana is more in demand now.
Many airdrops are popping up on the Solana network.
but maybe next year the cosmos network will be in great demand, who knows.

Cosmos have gotten plenty airdrops, but their amount usually tends to be worth peanuts so ecosystem hasn't come under limelight as much as Ethereum and others.

1247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Layer 2 Blast and airdrop! on: November 30, 2023, 12:30:48 AM
I have connected my wallet to the website in the blast airdrop as this airdrop was send to me first by my friend through his referral Link. Although I didn't got any point on their website even my wallet is too old and also I have been participating in these Airdrops since 2 years. Also I'm regularly using that wallet for the Airdrops. But surely I don't know their criteria and didn't understand on what basis they are giving the points.

Mine is pretty old too and active as well, no free points for me either.

Quote
Most person have invested through the Ethereum although they got some points in it, but there may be any other criteria through which we can get free points? Or it is only for the users who have Ethereum and Fund etc.? May be some good news we can hear from the Blast team as this may be a big project regarding their twitter I have searched it and read their mechanism as well.

I think there is referral stuff you could do, but for it to unlock afaik you have to deposit ETH, see their geniousness?
1248  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Weak or wise? on: November 30, 2023, 12:24:57 AM
I'm of the opinion that taking profit is always the wise decision. Paper profits are not real, it took me years to realize until my huge gains went down the drain for not taking profit.

Although that's true, I believe it would also depend on what kind of asset you're holding as an investment. Because with Bitcoin, if I HODL since 2019, would the gains accumulated since that time be truly considered mere "paper-profit"? If you ask me, it's already realized profit because I could always use my Bitcoin to pay someone else who accepts it.

Plus I'm very confident a "participant" in the dark market would be very happy to buy it from me. A victim of ransomware would probably buy it from me for more than the fair market value.

Such an asset shouldn't be sold early just to turn paper-profit into real profit in my opinion.

If I were to elaborate further to my previous comment it would be; ..I should have converted those paper profits to Bitcoin.

So there is your answer.

Plus, unless you are 'HODL' kinda guy, you could also convert your BTC to stables when you sense market top incoming, and repurchase later in dip, and increase your BTC holding.
1249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRON is bad coin, here is why on: November 30, 2023, 12:12:39 AM
Technologically Ethereum is much more advanced than Tron. But Tron has strong marketers. I think that Tron is still afloat thanks only to the managers
You are right, Tron is as popular due to it's marketers only, while Ethereum's all growth has been mostly natural. If ethereum can somehow tone it's fees down, it'll be icing on cake.

I don't wanna use evm chains for cheap fees, I want to use ethereum only.
So you'd prefer to pay more fees than you could? Interesting. I mean, if you're holding something on TRX it's the one thing, but when you only need to transfer something cheap fees are a big con I think.

No, I didn't say that. I meant ethereum itself should be cheaper rather than using cheap alternative evm chains like optimism/base/arbitrum/polygon/etc.

Cheap fees are never a con, how do you mean?

TRON was constantly hyped/shilled by Justin Sun himself. It wasn't as popular as other chains because most dApps and tokens were complete copies of those living on the Ethereum blockchain. This lack of originality made investors look elsewhere. Now things will be getting "hot" for TRON, as Hamas and Hezbollah terrorist groups will be using the chain for all of their criminal activities.

I sure hope the US government doesn't sanction Justin Sun or "ban" TRX from centralized exchanges. Else, it would be the end of TRON as we know it (after all, the US market is the largest in the world).

Tron is only somewhat popular due to trc20 usdt's cheap withdrawals on cexes, if it's unlisted, it gonna be huge blow to Tron, possibly fatal.
1250  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 30, 2023, 12:02:14 AM
I think India can win that match if Yashasvi Jaiswal stays on the pith for a long time, and Ishan Kishan also doesn't play well, and the captain of India, the no.1 batsman of T20 also doesn't do well. Yes, I am talking about Surya Kumar.

Indian batters are doing fine job, they have done 200+ in all three games which is excellent in t20, I couldn't expect anything more from them. Bowlers definitely needs to do better, if you can't defend 220 in 20 over game, there is something wrong, also the field placement sucked in last game. Indian team needs to improve in other things except batting.
1251  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Memes! on: November 29, 2023, 11:39:13 PM
Not funny? Okay.

1252  Other / Meta / Has Bitcointalk lost it's appeal for projects to announce themselves on? on: November 29, 2023, 07:37:57 AM
Observed lately that not many crypto projects announce themselves on bitcointalk these days. Currently successful projects like Ethereum, MANA, AAVE (back then ETHLEND), NEM have anns here, but as years passed we see projects stopped bothering with bitcointalk.

What do you think is the reason? Has bitcointalk lost it's charm?
1253  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How could this journey be on: November 29, 2023, 07:17:11 AM
I'm new here with no knowledge of Bitcoin, I write this as Bitcoin enthusiast that's ready to learn, with the little information i gathered from friends when they were dicusing, I see Bitcoin as an opportunity and am intereested, but my problem is that I want to know way to go, I need help and clarificatioon on the way to go here.

Concise the question, better the help. Narrow down what exactly you seek in your Bitcoin search?

There is a saying, person who don't know what he wants, ends up with lot unwanted. You post exactly what help you need or what clarification you seek and you will get your answer.

Some examples could be: 1) I need help with choosing wallet for my BTC 2) Want to know where can I purchase BTC 3) how do I secure my BTC?
1254  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 29, 2023, 06:15:55 AM
^ you are right, I'm biased towards Indian side due to me being an Indian. Will try to be neutral.
1255  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 29, 2023, 05:56:15 AM
Australia's performance in the third T20 series was extraordinary, especially Maxwell's batting in the last minute, Australia won. Australia needed 43 runs in the last two overs, but the two batsmen did not play with pressure, Maxwell's great century. Australia played a great game to win, and we really wondered how it was possible, but Maxwell made the impossible possible for him. India won the last two matches brilliantly against Australia but came to the third match with a stunning win in Australia. However, looking at the batting performance of this third match, it seems that there is a possibility of Australia winning the next matches against India.

Bowlers are to be given credit for this loss. I mean, Indian batters have done well in all these 3 games. Meanwhile bowlers letting Aussies create 200+ or close to it. Better performance is expected than this.
1256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How high will your altcoin go? check it out with this tool on: November 29, 2023, 05:38:37 AM
That's a good share. Since you can get an idea what would your token would be worth if it had particular coin's marketcap. I tried few of my held coins, and they seem underrated (from the looks of it at least)  Grin

1257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Claiming Bitcoin Gold and Bitcoin SV? on: November 29, 2023, 05:11:12 AM
I used coinomi myself, it was simple as you did with electron cash, just import seed, add forked coin and balance equivalent to btc held during snapshot would show up.

Coinomi is under suspicions these days but shouldn't be worry since you gonna transfer coins immediately to HW.

Edit:

So I read I can still claim bitcoin sv and bitcoin gold
Import your seed in coinomi, select these two from list of coins, your airdropped coins should show up.

Quote
Now the thing is where would you then send the bitcoin gold to?
Convert it to btc and send it your ledger through https://swapspace.co/

Do same with Bitcoin SV.

I have no idea about Bitcoin diamond and ecash, wait other users responses.
1258  Local / India / Re: India cricket Discussion and predictions [self-mod] on: November 29, 2023, 04:11:35 AM
Indian pace attack was not upto the mark I felt. It is possible due to the dew factor that they struggled. The last over by Krishna could have been bowled far better if it was Arshdeep. SKY missed that calculation and we lost the match.

Dunno if it's dew or they are just bad, in previous two matches too India only won due to batting brilliance. Deepak Chahar has been added to the squad from next game, hopefully we will see him in place of Prasidh.
1259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Layer 2 Blast and airdrop! on: November 29, 2023, 03:34:06 AM
Appears they are staking eth received on lido, and thus giving rewards to the depositors. Also, their referral structure is seen in pyramid schemes. I feel there is nothing new, but good if they airdrop, it gonna have good value because of the hype, money out of thin air for everyone.
Ah ok...  As I was reading the OP, I was thinking where does the yield for the 'interest rate' given to the depositors come from?  Makes sense.  I think a lot of people at CT miss the point.  They were saying that bridging to Blast would trap your coins for months with nothing to show for.  They must have forgotten that Paradigm is behind this...  Remember the NFT project they had?  I think it was a free mint but then with a little marketing those NFT's trended up to 10 ETH each.  Lmao.

Not sure what's going to happen to BLAST tho.  But seeing how these things go, they're a bit lucrative.

Only lucrative thing there is is confirmed airdrop, people are trapping their coins for this airdrop points only and popular names behind Blast is making people go haywire (for lack of better word in my vocabulary). I don't know what people's portfolio risk appetite is but some are risking way much (I have seen screenshiots on CX with people depositing 2k-5k eth (I think we can change CT to CX as Twitter has been renamed to X, lol)).

This deffo gonna be on hacker's radar, let's see how things turn out. I'll be staying on sideways watching.

AFAIK, there was no announced airdrop from the team.

1260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Cardano still a good investment? on: November 29, 2023, 03:09:26 AM
It should rise with BTC, obviously but other than that Cardano is kind of meh coin, been years since this coin has been in existence yet has got no traction.
actually "IT MUST" because if not this bullrun ? maybe there will be more investors that will Leave supporting this because it has been long that ADA did not bring any best result to their investors .
I used this to be in my folio in recent years but I lose my trust and convert to other coins in which brings me good return recently (SOLANA it is)

Who ever thought about Solana coming this fast, there's something we cannot conclude about the crypto market, what might comes in after, who knows maybe Cardano may also turn to be a surprise to every of its investors and make a new change to favour them, if Solana can come in this fast there's nothing that cannot happen with Cardano as well if we can take time to hold this coin for the right time to sell.

You are right, but for something like Solana to happen to Cardano, it should bring something of value to the table such as Solana's partnership with Visa.
