1242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will be vulnerable to Quantum Computers in about 2 years on: January 14, 2023, 09:38:01 PM
If the bitcoin developers see a risk in bitcoin by quantum computers they will do something about it, you really think people will just seat and watch how bitcoin dies? that will not happen.

And even if it happens there is always the option of a hard fork to recover the lost coins on the attack. So, I don't thinks quantum computers will destroy bitcoin, when those computers get enough power to attack bitcoin then BTC will be strong enough to avoid it.
1243  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Miss Universe 2023 betting. on: January 14, 2023, 09:22:33 PM
Let me know, and what's your prediction? maybe I can follow.

These kinds of events are hard to predict, and I would say they are rigged, but maybe I'm wrong. If I have to choose one I would say Alejandra Guajardo just because she supports bitcoin  Grin

I already search for the event in a couple of casinos, but couldn't find it, I will keep searching and if I found one I will update this post.

1245  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Top 20 Things to Expect in the Fortune.st Coming Upgrade on: January 13, 2023, 06:55:36 PM
1.     Anonymity: players can enjoy their gaming experience without having to reveal any of their personal information. The current phone number field will be completely eliminated.

When I read that I was like "No way, users can't be anonymous in a site that asks KYC"... but then I went to the TOS and they say:

Players can be fully anonymous. That means, No KYC both for players and affiliates.

And then I asked myself, how does a license provider allow that, and there is where I realized you don't have a gambling license. And that's bad because the full site with the servers can be sized by the police at any moment they want, so, is a high risk for the users and the house.

A gambling license should be one of those 20 Things to Expect in the coming upgrade.
1246  Local / Español (Spanish) / Re: [FUN] Arte Bitcoin on: January 12, 2023, 08:59:33 PM

1247  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is It good For The Casinos And The Accusers If .. on: January 12, 2023, 07:34:43 PM
The casinos have the right to deal with customers in private, making the issue public is not good for them and it's even considered a hostile move. But from the users' side is a good option to find a solution to the issue because casinos will feel the pressure of the community while they just don't want to burn their reputation.

So, I think it's decision of the casino if they want to fix their problems in public or not, in the end they set the game rules and if they refuse to answer in public they are in their right to avoid it.
1248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Node stuck on some commands... on: January 12, 2023, 06:27:38 PM

I think Bisq might be what triggers these issues, but I am not 100% certain. Thanks!
Possible, since RPC works although slow, the issue may be your hardware can't handle all those processes at the same time.
(based from the dbcache, RPi?)

I'm not using Bisq so I can't help any further but I've read that it has high CPU usage during the sync process.

Yes during Bisq's sync process, there is heavy load on my node, but then it goes away once sync is complete after a minute or so. The stuck transaction occurs typically hours after Bisq's launch. Yesterday it occurred about 12h after launch.
Yes the hardware is a RPI4 with 8 GB of RAM.

Is there a way to cancel a stuck RPC command without killing the the whole process?

First, you should take a look at your server resources, for that I recommend the 'top' command, there will you see how many RAM are you using. And if you want to free some space in the ram you could use the next command:

Code:
# sync; echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches

The function of that command is to Clear pagecache, dentries, and inodes. For me, it helps me when my RAM is almost full.

Hello bitcoinbayshop, i was taking a look to the About page and found this:

Your Payment Is Safe And Secured

You’re payments with Bitcoin Bay will always be safe and secure. We use Blockchain.com to hold all funds.

I would say is a bad idea to have all the users' funds on a web wallet. There are more secure ways to handle the customers' money, and this can break the trust of a lot of them.

This kind of EShops aren't new at all, I mean, you are using wordpres with woocommerce... I have done some of those in the past. But I would like to know what plugin you use or how do you manage the bitcoin payments?

That sounds like a nice promotion, I was trying to find more information about it on the site but couldn't find it. I would like to know if it doubles up apply only to the first bet with a high multiplier, or if it will apply for all the big multipliers we get until the promo is over, and when will the promotion end?

Thanks for the information MaverickGames.
1251  Economy / Gambling / Re: Satoshi Auction - Bid on a prize where 98% of each bid is added to the prize. on: January 11, 2023, 05:40:34 PM
I'm not sure the site would be a success, even if I did create dark mode, etc.

The game is too risky and the trust required is too high.

So it looks like it's time to end this project.

I will wait for the existing auctions to end and then take the site offline.

Thank you everybody for your feedback.

Too bad the project ended like this, I mean, it was looking nice and had potential, but as you say the trust required is too high, and for that you need a lot of operation time, at least one year up. That's the right way to build trust.

If there could be a way to avoid the risk of the users about the house running away with the money, then people would easily trust the project.
1252  Local / Español (Spanish) / Re: El Salvador – Diplomado en Bitcoin on: January 11, 2023, 05:33:21 PM
...

1253  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A superstitious strategy? on: January 09, 2023, 09:01:19 PM
Now, let's be some superstitious and say, if you play only when luck appears to be on your side, would you call that a good strategy?

For sure is a good strategy to play when luck is on our side, but the problem is to know when the good streak will end because that's the point when people send their balance to zero.

Martingale is for sure a good strategy with the right luck but is about the long run to have a bad ending. If we set a goal before starting the session that would help us to walk away sometimes with the money.
1254  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Are Players Going To Trust Casinos If They Don't Show Solid Evidence on: January 09, 2023, 06:28:32 PM
That is why it's really important to read the casinos terms and conditions before making the first depo. Casinos put the rules on the table and are our decision if we want to play with their rules or not.

Most casinos don't allow multi accounts, betting bots, and some other stuff, but casinos like Just-Dice give zero fucks about multiple accounts and bots, so, we have the option to play in strict sites or not.

In the end, if the casino says that we broke their rules they are in the right to size our accounts, that's part of the TOS.

1257  Economy / Gambling / Re: New casino BTC game development on: January 09, 2023, 05:33:01 PM
That's a great user interface, and it's responsive, great job on that one, and it would be nice if you tell us more about the Deposits and Withdrawals, does your engine have its own nodes, or that's a third-party service?

I will set a quota of 0.01 BTC which seems reasonable to avoid the leeching of such a beautiful project.

I don't get what's that quota for? is it to test the site? and how much you you want for the project? Not sure if you are selling it, looking for partners, or just launching your project.
1258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Breaking RSA Encryption with Quantum Computer on: January 09, 2023, 04:19:22 PM
Maybe we could try reading the actual report rather than just believing click bait headlines?

Quote
We demonstrate the algorithm experimentally by factoring integers up to 48 bits with 10 superconducting qubits, the largest integer factored on a quantum device. We estimate that a quantum circuit with 372 physical qubits and a depth of thousands is necessary to challenge RSA-2048 using our algorithm.

They managed to factor a 48 bit integer. So nowhere near the 2048 bits needed for RSA 2048. To do this, they say they need a quantum computer which doesn't exist and which utilizes technology which doesn't exist. If I publish a paper talking about a new space rocket design, that doesn't mean I've been to Mars. Roll Eyes

We've known for years there are methods that advanced quantum computers will be able to use to attack our current encryption schemes. We also know that such computers are decades away. This Chinese paper tells us nothing new.

You are right o_e_l_e_o, looks like they are one step closer, but they haven't reached the goal yet. The thing is, now they are in the right road, which means now is the right way to give the new step in encryption. We need something complex and almost impossible for quantum computers because we are not sure how fast that technology will evolve, maybe in 5 years they become madness, that's hard to predict.
1259  Economy / Speculation / Re: what If Bitcoin Price never comes up on: January 08, 2023, 07:24:11 PM
please explain me why bitcoin will make another all time high
or explain some circumstances in that bitcoin's price  will go more low and never or after long times later comes up

Because Markets work with the users' demand, it's simple as that, if there is a high demand for bitcoins, then the price goes up and if there's a low demand the price goes down.

A good example of this would be if Elon Musk post a tweet about how he is going to invest $100M in Bitcoin, That would generate a huge demand in the market because is not only the $100M Buy, is the fact that other people buying too that could send the price to a new ATH.
1260  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's the best strategy for high wagering/low losses on plinko? on: January 08, 2023, 07:03:11 PM
I remember some years ago i used to have a plinko bet simulator, the backup should be somewhere if you want i can search for it and put it back online. With it, you can simulate millions of bets and try to look for a strategy for the long run with different seeds.

If you are interested just send me a PM and it could be back online for this week.
