901  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pastor Shuts Down His Church After Winning About $140,000 In Sports Betting.. on: March 24, 2023, 10:26:17 PM
This is one of those fun news, for sure he thinks it was a signal from God.

But the weird part of it is that most pastors do it because they really believe in got and not as a full-time job. Or at least that way is in my country, I don't know if it's different from yours.

And from what I understand, pastors don't have vices like drinking, woman, or gambling. The religion prohibits those things to them, so, is fun to see a pastor winning big. i would say: Casinos 1 - Church 0.
902  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is the best crypto poker site? on: March 24, 2023, 09:11:21 PM
I tried to check the poker games in my Stake account and found the poker games.

Is this what you are looking for @OP?

To play poker against the house isn't really poker... the rules are different, and the main problem I see in that kind of poker game is the fact that you can't go all in just like in a normal poker table.

In this kind of games, you place your bet and then the dealer shows you the hand, and that's something that I don't like at all because one of the best things of poker is the fact that users should be able to decide if bet on their hands or fold them knowing the cards.

And for this reason, the poker that you show us mydna is a bad joke for a true poker player.
903  Economy / Gambling / Re: We NEED Bitcointalk Members Feedback on Casino Challenges! on: March 24, 2023, 07:58:17 PM
I personally liked the format of the Sherbet Casino Challenge.
They have it in the form of quests:
...
Most importantly these quests have good rewards and accessible to everyone. Would any of us turn down an extra $1,000 bonus if we caught the maximum win with a $0.2 bet?)

Is the first time I see this kind of challenge and I think that's an awesome way to motivate the users to push their luck in slots.

The only thing I don't like is the amount of the prize because paying $250 to someone who just won $2,000 on a spin isn't that great. I mean, it was a 10% bonus from the real bet. So, maybe if those bonuses were bigger than the prize that would motivate more people to chase them.

905  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Given an option between Bitcoin and Fiat which do you prefer? on: March 24, 2023, 11:53:34 AM
As a bitcoin enthusiast having the knowledge of bitcoin and it's potentials compared to the fiat as a local currency and means of exchange or payment for services rendered what is your take and preference on it? And how long do you think it will take for bitcoin to be accepted as a digital legal tender world wide?

The problem with bitcoin is still the high fees, I mean I you only want to spend $1 then doing it with bitcoin is not a good business because the transaction will cost more than the sent value. And the solution for this is to use a cheaper transaction coin like Dogecoin.

And to I'm not sure if bitcoin will be accepted as a digital legal tender worldwide, just because the government can't control it, and that's why they hate it. the "Be your own bank" movement is the way to fuck the governments, so, bitcoin is user-friendly but anti governments.
906  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 21 million units what is the reason for reaching this value? on: March 23, 2023, 09:39:18 PM
Why only put 21 million units in the source code?

Are you sure there are 21 million units? i don't think so... As other users already mention, those 21 units is a tricky number because bitcoin has 8 zeros after the point, and that means the total units can be a lot more than 21 million.

Maybe your question is: Why limit the total of coins and not make the infinite? And the answer is - Because finite elements will always have a greater value than infinite elements. And 21M is a good number, isn't small or isn't big.
907  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Do Kwon arrested on: March 23, 2023, 05:18:17 PM
Good news, if true.
We should wait for further confirmation from authorities before assuming this is completely true. We all know some Twitter accounts are willing to spread unconfirmed stuff in order to be the firsts ones to have the attention of the crypto community.

If he is indeed in custody, i hope he gets accused and tried in court to face those investors he damaged and we get to know the details of the prosecutor.

One must wonder how much Bitcoin he still has hidden after the fallout of his project, I bet Montenegro is quite expensive.

True, we can be sure that he is holding a big mount of money in cryptos, and he must be hiding them as a pro, I mean will be almost impossible for the governments to get access to his coins. And that's bad because if the government can't access his coins then will be impossible to pay back the money to all the scammed users.

But in the end, is nice to see how there is some karma, and people should learn the lesson from this. Scammers will end up in jail and that was the main lesson.
908  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the biggest problem you think AI can fix in gambling on: March 23, 2023, 05:09:06 PM
I don't think casinos need AI to detect frauds or money laundering... casinos already have some filters to detect if users make some weird moves like making deposits and withdrawals without wagering or some weird ways to wager.

Maybe the AI can be used to give more interaction and live casinos chat, or even to give live support to the customers, but not to fix the current problems.
909  Local / Trading y especulación / Re: [Marzo] 2023 |Se Avecinan Rosas... || !? on: March 22, 2023, 05:44:04 PM

I just take a look at the tournament lobby and all the users have 8k chips now, looks like the 16k chips issue gets fixed now.

But in the Re-Buy description, it say:

Rebuy (8000 chips for €0 + €0) available until the end of the tournament.

So, not sure if users will be able to re-buy or if that would be fixed too.

And I created a thread in the Spanish local board, I hope to see some users from there joining us. And there cygan mentioned the buy-in is $20 and not 20€, but for me, it was 20€, maybe that's something that we should make clear too.
911  Local / Español (Spanish) / Re: Torneo de poker de Bitcointalk ♠️♥️♣️♦️ 2023 on: March 22, 2023, 03:30:58 PM
Ey! Presente.
...

I would like to know more about the final game because feels like I'm missing something there.

How many users will play in that one?

Will the final game have Buy-In too?

And about the first 4 games, the prizes will go to the final game or each game will distribute the prizes from the buy-ins on that game?

Thanks for the information guys, and I hope you can add this information in the first page of the thread, I feel like it's relevant information for the tournament.
914  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Deposit adress notification on: March 20, 2023, 11:20:02 PM
When a user sends crypto to the deposit adress, he will get a notification that they are accepted by the blockchain network.
 Something like:
" thanks for your deposit, We will now exchange your BTC and send 0.124 ETH  to your wallet. You can now close your browser if you want".

I don't think this is right, the user should get the message when the deposit is confirmed and not when the deposit is sent to the address, and this is really important because if you make a swap without confirmation people would be able to abuse your system with a double spend.

And the way to do this directly from your coin node, is with the command "blocknotify", each time your node detects a node you should verify if there is a depo. That's the way to do it in the backend.
915  Local / Español (Spanish) / Re: [ENDED] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | May 26, 2017, 07:45:12 PM on: March 20, 2023, 08:29:11 PM
...

916  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Top 3 Reasons Why Cytpocurrency Gambling is more Addictive than Fiat Gambling! on: March 20, 2023, 06:10:25 PM
Crypto gambling inst anonymous anymore, it used to be that way in the start, but nowadays 98% of the casinos ask for KYC, so, they are not anonymous at all.

I'm not sure about if crypto gambling is more addictive, but what I can say is that crypto gambling is easy to access gambling for anyone. A lot of us never play on real casinos but play a lot online because is easy to use to visit a site and make a depo.
917  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the Strangest Bet You Have Ever Had? on: March 20, 2023, 04:37:52 PM
I remember one time that i decide to hit an x9999 on Plinko, so, I made a 0.1BTC depo on the old casino called Luckybit and start placing bets like crazy... after betting all day I lost almost all my balance so I give up that day. But here comes the magic, on the next day there was an event at the casino, so I decide to place a bet to verify the engine was working fine, and there it was, the first bet of the day and x9999... I get back the 0.1BTC with that shot. It was weird as hell because the day before that I placed like 10k bets.

And another strangest bet was when I decide to hit an x300,000... and if you want to read that story here is the thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5406456.0
918  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ChatGPT Outlines Potential Scenarios That Could Lead BTC To Hit $1M In 90 days on: March 20, 2023, 04:19:36 PM
Former Coinbase CTO Balaji Srinivasan has recently made a bold bet on Bitcoin’s price, predicting that the cryptocurrency will reach $1 million within the next 90 days.

This is just impossible, I don't know what makes him do such a declaration... but even if the crypto market capitalization doubles up the price will not be close to 1 million.

Even in an epic scene where Tesla and Mac sell all their actions and invest that money in Bitcoin that will not send the price to $1M/coin... The amount of money that we need in the markets to see bitcoin at that price is just too much to make it happen.
919  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com 🔐 Icarus Poker Series | Discussion Thread ♠️♥️♣️♦️ on: March 20, 2023, 04:12:48 PM
Besides that, just try some freerolls on Betnomi. These run basically every day. You can just register and win some BTC for free, if you're making it to the first spots.

And another good option to learn is the cash games, some tables are really cheap, and you can join them for $0.43... Each hand cost $0.02.

And once you know the hierarchy of the hands then you will know when to bet high:

I'm happy to see how this weekend will start the tournament, we all will enjoy it, so, see you this Sunday in the tournament guys, and great luck to all!
