Then http://coinmarketcap.com/ gives us incorrect information... or you are just wrong.
My paintings have a price of 100 billion each. I have 500 of them. My paintings have a market cap of 50 trillion.

I see that integrity is not the strongest of your qualities...

You don't know what a strawman is. Let's just end this. You win. I will ignore you also.
Your. Trolling. Is. Just. Too. Powerful... aaaarrgghhhh!!!!

Truth hurts?

  Cheesy
What would you know of truth?

Evidence suggests it is true you try to play to the crowd when your points get rebutted. Maybe you are losing your ability to tell people what to think?
First you claim market caps denote the value of a cryptocurrency. I refute that point by explaining that all cryptocurrencies markets without exception are unregulated and therefore unreliable. I also demonstrate that with the paintings analogy. That threw you for a loop so you ignored the analogy and started talking about the art market. That's called a red herring by the way. Then you said
Quote
But I this is getting away from your proposition of your paintings with nothing to offer = POS platforms that support the development of real projects  Grin

which is simply hyperbole. I can appreciate that.

But then you have to go and defend your champion CFB. You consistently and completely ignore my rebuttals and instead use fallacies. Now you accuse me of social engineering.

Pot. Kettle. Black.

What is wrong with you people?

Now is the time to buy.

you sound desperate. Don't worry, eventually the exchange operators (the central bankers of bitcoin) will pump the price. Real demand though has utterly vanished never existed.

1265  Economy / Economics / Re: When will the USA pay their debts, if ever? on: December 29, 2014, 12:11:05 PM
Quod est inferius est sicut quod est superius, et quod est superius est sicut quod est inferius
Whatever is below is similar to that which is above.

People will imitate their leaders. The addiction to debt is destroying nations, destroying communities, and destroying families. It must be stopped before it destroys our species.
1266  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Proof of stake mining of bicoin on: December 29, 2014, 11:46:41 AM
What features do your paintings offer that might be desirable to me? Do they offer an asset exchange? That's always a good start. 50 trillion seems a bit steep tho... I think I'll wait for the dump  Cheesy
What I'm saying is your exchanges are toys made by children like Zhoutong, and Karpeles. They are insignificant in the world of finance. What they do is set unrealistic values to technologies that await official government sanction and regulation so serious exchange can happen. Until then, there is no realistic price discovery.
1267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Proof of stake mining of bicoin on: December 29, 2014, 10:16:58 AM
POS=no production cost=no value

If I can produce a coin without any cost, why should I pay any thing valuable to exchange it??? I will just go ahead to mine it

Fiat money can have value without production cost, because there is a law to force its circulation, and the cost to make that law can be a war, which costs millions of times more energy than POW mining

Then if they do start having problems like Russia, they won't discuss anything that can shake the confidence in their currency.
1269  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not a currency and this is why. on: December 29, 2014, 07:35:46 AM
"I decided to fact-check myself and I (found) that Bitcoin was actually larger than some national currencies ... We've been moving up the list, if you look at the total value of all the bitcoins in circulation versus the total value of other currencies, we're up to 20 or 40 national currencies that are smaller than Bitcoin. As Bitcoin gets bigger and we move up that list, we're on the path to Bitcoin being a serious world currency." - Gavin Andresen
There are many very small currencies that are controlled by very small countries. I wouldn't say that it would be a very big feat to be larger then these currencies.

What would be a meaningful feat would be to grow enough so that bitcoin is larger then more major economies and currencies.
Right. That's what he said.
1270  Economy / Speculation / Re: Logarithmic (non-linear) regression - Bitcoin estimated value on: December 29, 2014, 07:33:03 AM
Bitcoin logarithmic regression with inverted and scale dollar index on it.

I like how the channel goes from $15 to $60k.  Cheesy
1271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [OFFICIAL THREAD] FACTOM - Offchain transactions + Factom Blocks on: December 29, 2014, 06:40:26 AM
Concerns:
1. Document forgery
2. Document storage
3. Human error in surveys and documents
4. Anonymity
5. Fraudulent assets

Mostly I'm concerned about monetizing sovereign land with decentralized networks. Powerful countries would more easily exploit poor nations. Land ownership requires biometric ID. I can see the benefit of decentralized record keeping like Storj and MaidSafe, but FACTOM seems susceptible to fraud. Bitcoin bloat, speed, and costs, can be addressed in the Bitcoin protocol itself. There will always be counterparty risk with human derived assets and it's best to keep them accountable.

I can see FACTOM become a documentation service like TransUnion.

Young people shouldn't be concerned with the old people that put your nation deep in debt. You make your own future.

Sausage fest? I'm a girl and I'm sure other girls on here would love the idea, it won't be 50/50 but maybe 70/30?
You need at least 33½.

Why is that? Wink
Someone check my math.  Wink
1275  Economy / Economics / Re: Another country that should have invested in Bitcoin before now. on: December 29, 2014, 04:50:46 AM
When you see a sudden depreciation in your currency, you look for a stable source of value. Unfortunately, bitcoin with its current volatility does not provide this function. People would rather buy USD or gold to protect the value of their savings.
Most people divest their savings. Actually most people don't have any savings. If it was only a few that didn't have savings then you can blame them. When most don't have savings then there's a problem with the system. Wages have not increased in decades but costs continue to rise. I'm not saying that dollars are a problem, I'm saying that dollars are THE problem.
1276  Economy / Economics / Re: The Definition of Cash on: December 29, 2014, 04:38:42 AM
Satoshi Nakamoto used the term 'cash' in the title of the Bitcoin white paper. That's good enough for me.

Whats more cash: Monero or Bitcoin?
"All money is money" - Fifty Cent
Cash is a noun. So what's more money for some is never enough for others.  Monero has what I consider to be security problems, but also strengths. Bitcoin's strengths and weaknesses are well known.
1277  Economy / Economics / Re: A Resource Based Economy on: December 29, 2014, 04:23:04 AM
tl, dr

recource based economy is really just communism
Communism uses money like rubles, pesos, and yuan. RBE doesn't.
...
In contrast, rubles were essentially coupons or points that could be exchanged for other things based on a fixed exchange rate. Job wages were not earned based on demand, as they would be with money, but rewarded in ruble "points" based on their perceived importance, and the number of ruble "points" spent on an apple would be set (by central planners) based on their need for subsistence, and somewhat on the complexity of its production. In essense, a ruble was no different than a card you could get for 8 free coffees, where each time you visit, one of the 8 coffee squares gets punched out with a hole punch.

So, yeah, RBE is like communism, where all resources are planned out, and allocated using the point system.
In theory I suppose. Rubles turn into money on the black market.

That's probably more a foreshadowing of RBE than anything. If resources are efficiently allocated, and everything one needs to survive is provided, people will still use something as money on the black market to try to get a little bit more.
Yeah that will probably be for things like clean, water and food. Money is already lowering our lifespan.
1278  Economy / Speculation / Re: Chinese bears vs USA bulls, which one will win over? on: December 28, 2014, 02:44:48 PM
