1281  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-06-24] Google Searches for ‘Bitcoin’ Starting to Catch Up With $10K Euphor on: June 25, 2019, 04:06:33 PM
This is exactly what happened during the 4th quarter of 2017.
Similar, but not exactly the same.

At the start of December 2017, when prices were more or less where they are now, searches for the phrase "bitcoin" were around 4x higher than they are currently, and searches for the phrase "buy bitcoin" were around 8x higher. Certainly the trend for both searches is currently upwards, but not at the same speed as it was during the end of 2017. I think this is a good thing. It suggests that the current price growth is more organic and less driven by newbies flooding in to the space and throwing their money at things they don't understand.

I won't say it looks like organic completely. Bitcoin market is still looking very volatile hence mostly driven by speculation. But we can say that the circle of investors have increased lot since 2017. We now have bigger market for Bitcoin. Hence longer and more consistent bull run seems possible from here. It also shows that price won't collapse easily like it did in 2018. But as the price increases, the number of newbies will again surge and we may see bubble forming somewhere around $25-30K in future.
1282  Economy / Economics / Re: THE BITCOINS AND THE UNDERDEVELOPED WORLD on: June 25, 2019, 09:48:05 AM

THE BITCOINS AND THE UNDERDEVELOPED WORLD…THOSE WHO ARE STILL BEHIND

As time passes bitcoins get more and more interest worldwide, weather sooner or later, it will impact the world economy such that people with no knowledge of it will be left behind. Observing this i can’t keep myself from worrying; what about those who cannot have access to the bitcoins and are not even aware of it existence, this seems surprising but there are much more of people in this situation than people may imagine, those who have never even had access to a computer or worse don’t even have electricity, those people may have access to money though not much but if the bitcoins spread worldwide their situation may only worsen, I am talking of course here of the underdeveloped countries.

Are my fears wrong? If so what do you think can be done at our level to change something being it even only slightly?
I think this is a problem for all of us even those who don’t feel really concern…

So why do you think everyone should have access to Bitcoin?
Bitcoin is no longer poor people's money. Owning Bitcoin has become luxury in 2019. Even 100th fraction of Bitcoin cost $110 nowadays. With increased prices, fees is also sky-rocketing. You have to spend $2-3 atleast to send Bitcoins. No sane person would like to spend $2-3 everytime buying any goods or services. Under all these circumstances, utility of Bitcoin has now been limited to investment only. Now tell me how many poors invest money? They hardly able to fulfill their necessities, why would they invest in something like Bitcoin!
So I really don't see any dire need of introducing everyone to BTC.
1283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin season is not here yet. on: June 24, 2019, 10:10:05 AM
bitcoin dominance is very high at the moment but altcoin party will soon come and we’ll all earn some money, i have a lot of investments in altcoins and bounty tokens to be cashed out.

Poor me, I switched all my Bitcoins into BNB when price was $9400. I  anticipated sharp decline thereafter but looks like whales have some other plans. Rather then fall in value, there was an increase of 15-20% in BTC value in last 2 days. Now I am in loss of 8% on my total crypto holdings.
We have seen in past that altcoins start pumping once Bitcoin pump becomes stable. After a dormant last day, BTC once again started growing. If this rally crosses $12,000 then I expect further fall in the value of altcoins. However, if it won't cross $12K then whales may switch to alts and we can see them growing instead.
1284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Copa América 2019 Discussion Thread & Prediction Pool (registration closed) on: June 23, 2019, 04:40:30 PM
Great win for Brazil last night, I make them favourites to win it. This is where the tournament really starts to take shape though, Argentina might not even advance to the next round which would be a massive shock.

I would like to make an unpopular opinion.
After Columbia match, I started believing that Argentina with such a bad tactical play won't even make to semifinals. However, after the match with Paraguay my opinion has changed completely. Now I believe Argentina can win Copa this year.
So what changed after Paraguay match? There are two things, positive things come up for Argentina:

1. Messi: He wasn't upset at all after the match like he becomes after most of the losses. I think goal (much needed) gave him confidence. Even in his speech after match, he said, "It would be crazy if Argentina disqualifies in group stages." He is not in the mood to lose at all. A confident Messi can turn any game in any circumstances on any day.

2. Team: So Argentina tried almost every combination on pitch in last two games, except trying Dybala. Out of all combinations, there is one which is really amazing. It includes Lauro Martinez and Sergio Aguero upfront. Messi in AMF position. Acuna, Parades and Lo Celso in midfield. Tagliafico, Otamendi, Pezzella and Casco at the back with Armani. Argentina tried something similar in second half against Paraguay and it made them completely different side until Scaloni substituted Lauro with Di Maria.

So others may not agree with me but I still believe Argentina can win 4 matches from here in row and lift the Copa trophy this time.

PS: Argentina winning match against Qatar alone will guarantee their spot in Quarters even if they finish third. They won't have to depend upon the result of match between Columbia vs Paraguay.
1285  Local / India / Re: What is the best way to buy and sell in 2019 on: June 23, 2019, 03:02:45 PM
Hello I traded bitcoin in the past. But most of the platforms on which I traded are dead now I think. I have also lost money on coinsecure. So now which is the best platform for trading Bitcoin from India? Is unocoin alive?

After the ban of Exchanges, P2P exchanges are doing good in India. Among all P2P, WazirX is clearly the best choice. It is very easy to buy/sell on WazirX.
Just deposit your Bitcoin in WazirX wallet, then sell it against USDT pair and finally sell USDT for INR on P2P. The volume is pretty fair. If your amount is below 20K INR, it will take 10-15 minutes maximum to clear all your order. If your amount is more than that then it might take little more than hour to completely fill your order.
1286  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-06-22] Bitcoin Price Hits $11K Less Than 24 Hours After Breaking $10K Mark on: June 23, 2019, 02:45:21 PM
Indeed this increase in the Bitcoin price is amazing.
However, I cannot see any article noting the exact reason of this increase. Is there anything special that happened during these days or it is just hype? I am just wondering if this will continue or it will drop.

There is a stock movement known as parabolic trend line. In such trend line, value of stock first increases at gradual pace but then value start increasing rapidly. In the end, a phase come where the value of stock increases so fast that it even doubles within a day until it reaches the top of parabola and start decreasing thereafter. Bitcoin has experienced 4 parabolic movements since its inception. It shows that FOMO is very common in bitcoin market. Whenever there is increase in prices, more and more buyers start entering market to buy until a neutral level reaches.
In other words you can say that the main reason of the increase is general market mechanism where more buyers are coming with the hope of further increase.
1287  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin back to 5 digits - Congratulations everyone! on: June 22, 2019, 06:21:02 PM
Still, I wonder if we can expect this growth to continue, or there will be a correction as always? I still do not believe that it is a bull run what we had back in 2017, but only a preparation for big things which should occur after halving. However I think that only the right thought is to always expect unexpected from crypto market Cool

I don't think we will see any major correction. It may get settle at something around $10.2-10.5K before rising again. This growth isn't looking like bubble at all. There are still lots of buyers supporting the market. So I won't be surprised if we see support level around 14-15K by next week or two.
This bull run looks very different from the one of 2017. 2017 run was complimented by equivalent growth in almost of coins. Some shitcoins even rose 5-6 times. But this time Bitcoin is sole leader, it gives more credibility to run and we could hope it won't burst like last time.
1288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: when to sell buy alts on: June 22, 2019, 03:08:24 PM
We have two different type of market movement in crypto space ,one is bull market and the other is bear market ,its always a good idea to buy coins and tokens in bear market and sell in bull market

It's not that easy.
Bull and Bear market movements you talking about are long-term trends. Long-term trends consist of several intermediate trends and thousands of minor trends.
At the time of investment, if we try to read charts we could predict minor and intermediate trends only. It is not possible to deduce long-term trends in advance generally.

1290  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-06-19] Bitcoin Price Will "Easily" Blast Beyond All-Time High Soon on: June 22, 2019, 02:10:40 PM
As we know Crypto market is so sensitive to news that even few articles stating Libra's benefits for Bitcoin are enough to dynamise the BTC prices.
I think you're giving out too many credits to mainstream media sources with their rubbish.

I don't believe so but when I see crypto investors in general, they constitute mostly of young inexperienced teen traders. Due to large number of such investors, FOMO and FUDs are much more common in crypto market than any other investment market.
On the top of that crypto markets are unregulated. Due to no regulation, malpractices are very common especially on decentralized exchanges.
So yeah even if we hate to accept but such articles do manipulate the actions of traders.

PSG is not actually a bad choice for a budding star like him. Joining Barcelona or MU right now is actually what would actually kill his bright career... Look at MU for example when was the last time they signed a youngster who went on to shine?
All that were signed are now playing very average football. The same could be said about Barcelona... The once brilliant and promising talents like the Dembeles are no more and could easily be sent out of Barca. Remember Paco Alcácer? He even had to leave Barcelona for Dortmund in order to become relevant again.

It happens sometime that a player doesn't get right position to play in one team but shines in other team while playing at preferred position. Paco Alcacer is classic case for the same. At Barcelona, due to the presence of Suarez it was impossible for Alcacer to play as CF. Other positions didn't suit him. Whereas Dembele IMO is very comfortable at Barcelona. He was stunning in first half of the season but regular injuries made him look bad on pitch.
Now coming to De Ligt. He has no problem of positioning. With Pique having max 1-2 seasons left in his bag, Barcelona needs a new regular starter at CB position. If De Ligt joins this season, he may not get start in every match but will surely become preferred CB from 2020-21 season.

Just learn that Barcelona signed Dutch full-back Mike Beijen on two years contract deal and they are also planning to sign De Jong the Netherlands star player but yet to know the exact time they are planning to.

Mike Beijen is the son of the agent of Frenkie. Barcelona signed him to play for B team, not so big news.
Aren't you aware of that Barcelona already made deal for Frenkie De Jong back in January?

Looks like Malinga added some salt and spices to the match.
1293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CWC2019 Prediction Pool - Win x BTC [Additional prize in every round] on: June 21, 2019, 11:47:33 AM
A very disappointing match for me yesterday... I was hoping for an Australian win by more than 100 runs, but the Australians were quite relaxed and complacent during the second innings and allowed the Bangladeshis to score 300 plus. Just shows how one sided the matches in these tournaments so far. Teams such as Australia no longer cares about the NRR, as they know that they have already qualified for the semi-finals. And this has been the most boring world cup ever since I started watching cricket matches.

I think the decision of ICC to make the format of World Cup like League backfired. ICC thought league format will make tournament more interesting and competitive but at international level no matter which sports is it, knockout format with group stages is always preferred due to huge difference in quality of international squads.
However, Bangladesh is trying its best to outperform big teams and it is quite exciting to watch that. They have beaten the teams like South Africa and West Indies and gave tough competition to Australia and NZ. Whereas Afghanistan disappointed very much.
1294  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 21, 2019, 11:13:41 AM
I have a feeling that deLigt will sign for PSG.
Why ? Because of Leonardo who is back at General Manager in Paris. Leonardo was here at the beginning of the Qatar era and was highly praised for the job he did at the time. He knows that now that he's back people will expect big signings from him. He has set deLigt as a clear target and I think he'll do whatever it takes to lure him because he will be judged on that. If he succeeds, people will say that he's a genius and that he's really more suited for the job than Antero Henrique, his predecessor, was. He has to make the deal so that everyone starts believing again in the "power" of this club.

PSG is awful choice if you are promising player. It may be perfect destination for proven players like Dani Alves or Angel Di Maria. But if you are Neymar or Mbappe or De Ligt, better play in England, Spain, Germany or Italy than playing among good for nothing teams in France. Ligue 1 is clearly one-team league. The second best team of the league is Lyon and just match the quality of squad, PSG is mile better. Hence, there isn't much exposure in France.
De Ligt has both required skills and time to be named among best defenders of all time. Going to PSG for just some extra money could affect his future in long term. It would be better if he plays for ManU or Barcelona. Considering the old age of Chiellini and Bonucci, even Juventus sounds good option.

However, I'm confuse as to why they saying Libra will be one of the catalyst though, I mean it could be just a token pegged to USD.
They are just sucking things out of their thumb. Bitcoin doesn't need Libra, JPM coin, Bakkt, ETF's, etc.

The only way this might work out well for Bitcoin, potentially, is that exchanges could list Libra versus Bitcoin trading pairs, which means that more money will flow into Bitcoin's ecosystem easier. This however isn't something they think about. They just think Libra adds more legitimacy to the space therefore has to be a major catalyst. Clowns they are.

It depends upon how you see Bitcoin. For most of the people Bitcoin is just another investment. We have seen in past that whenever such news come like Bitcoin ETF is about to launch, etc etc., prices of Bitcoin rise. So such associations do act as a catalyst for BTC prices. It isn't required that Libra will only impact the BTC prices when traded against it. As we know Crypto market is so sensitive to news that even few articles stating Libra's benefits for Bitcoin are enough to dynamise the BTC prices.

1298  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analyst claim Bitcoin will easily surpass $15,000 if it gets $10,000 on: June 20, 2019, 04:13:27 PM

This is what happened when Bitcoin crossed $10,000 for the very first time. It gradually rose from $10,000 to $12,000 over the course of 6 days and then boom! Over next two days i.e. 7-8th Dec, it rose from $12,000 to $17,000. So I won't be surprised if what you are saying actually happens.
One of the three basic assumptions of Technical Analysis states, 'History tends to repeat itself'. I would rather say it is the most important assumption of TA and on the basis of this assumption, a quick jump from $10K to $15K looks very much possible.
1299  Local / India / Re: Lets assume the worst. What's next? on: June 19, 2019, 05:34:38 PM
Lets assume this tweet is true - https://twitter.com/Nikunj_Ohri/status/1136823903605723137

"India has proposed a jail term of one to ten years for those who mine, hold or sell cryptocurrencies."

What if this become law? How do you plan for your next course of action (and suggest others)?

p.s. Any attempt to divert the discussion with "I believe this will not become law" etc. will be outright deleted.

I don't think holding cryptocurrencies will become illegal ever. Buying and selling in the local market may become illegal but no government can control the movement of cryptocurrencies between wallets. Hence, banning the holding and transferring would literally contribute nothing.
So even a scenario comes where government pass any such bill (chances of which is very meager), no need to worry as one can still receive crypto in wallets and sell them on OTC Exchanges in International Markets.
1300  Economy / Economics / Re: Decentralized Economy: What is it for? on: June 18, 2019, 05:20:37 PM

Yeah, decentralized economy is pretty much like communism, it seems to be amazing in theory but then reality hits you hard. We are not ready for a decentralized economy, humans are too greedy for that, maybe in the future when only AI is left.

Decentralized economy is nothing like communism, not even a single percent. Communism is a flawed concept. It promotes inefficiency as well as ineffectiveness. The sense of propriety lacks in communist society hence such economy can never grow, USSR is perfect example for this.
But decentralization is something much better than other forms of market. No one in today's date wanna controlled by other forces. As a bitcoin advocate, I can say that whether it's currency or any other commodity, if it is free from state's control, it is more accessible to public at large. However, decentralized economy do promotes inequality. It widens the gap between rich and poor. But as a common saying states: "Survival for the fittest". You need to grow on your own rather than waiting for support from government in the decentralized economy.
