1281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Taproot will follow segwit pump on: November 10, 2021, 02:47:53 PM
I have the same theory. The scaling debate brought instability, then which Segwit activation stabilized and ended the debate. It also brought divisiveness, which Segwit couldn’t fix, BUT I’m confident none of the big blockers that matter SODLed. Roger Ver still HODLs Bitcoin. It would be stupid of him, or anyone, to sell Bitcoin for Bcash.

I was very new when all of that happened. All I knew was that the miners who wanted bigger blocks went their way but eventually they also saw how bad the other camp was and everyone then decided to go Segwit. No more debate other than stubborn things about price and speed but I remember,,, this was proof of how Bitcoin becomes stronger after overcoming a difficulty.

Taproot is nowhere near to causing the same conflict so I do not see it as a big difficulty.
1282  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BlockFi on: November 10, 2021, 02:04:19 PM
BlockFi has filed another application with the SEC, only now to launch a bitcoin ETF with physical collateral in accordance with the Securities Act of 1933.

Interesting,,, seen a lot of ETF applications but this is the first from a pure cefi turning into defi company that most of us should have heard of. Any news how much of collateral is going to be held? Is it just 1-to-1 because even that would really make this something special. Expect many rejections first however Smiley
1283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can $SOL rise to $1000? on: November 10, 2021, 12:51:47 PM
in fact, BTC, ETH, and BNB also started all at very low prices. and now we see the growth achieved by all the good coins in the market is not something that happens quickly.
all of them thrive to build their market well. and if SOL can get sustainable development, maybe in the next 3-5 years the target can be achieved.
What I see, and apply to make long-term plans is that there is no impossibility.

BNB did an achievement of their current price the fastest among all these coins mentioned I think but that was because it received full marketing backing of millions of dollars from Binance, thanks to exchange fee profits.

I think SOL has much less of that but also benefited from the defi and dex rush. But so many competing and even if it gets to $1000 in a bull run it would fall to extreme levels as soon as the push and incentives are gone.
1284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Meme Coin Will Survive Long on: November 10, 2021, 10:02:09 AM
I think Doge and Shib will definitely survive in the long run because as you can see their volume are very high seems these coins are very popular meme coins and both are on top coins in the market. The rest of the meme coins I believe there are some can survive in the long run and some will be dead soon so it depends to the people which meme coins are they will support or to invest.

DOGE I have no doubt but Shib surviving in the long run is going to be highly improbable to my view,,, this coin has a lot of volume sure but it is 100% speculation and not a single use in that volume. Worse,,, it is not even able to achieve utility even if there would be willing users.

By default a memecoin cannot be long term.
1285  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🎰 Sportsbet.io 🎰 "Soccer Blackjack" @ 21.00 odds on: November 10, 2021, 09:08:26 AM
With 11 Busts since the last Blackjack! it's easy to get a little frustrated at the system (which has otherwise been handsomely rewarding).

More so, something tells me that we'll hit another Blackjack! before hitting another 9 Busts.

Exactly! As I see the statistics,,, the surprising thing about this event if that we have never ever been in a loss in between Blackjacks (as in,,, we have never lost 21 times in between Blackjacks). So this means as long as you keep picking, you keep winning  Cheesy

Today again same EFL selections, good luck everybody.

Amazing pictures,,, I thought I commented already on the day you posted but it seems not. Sometimes this happens I post but there is already a reply and I did not realize it did not go through Smiley

I guess you all got many more home jerseys from SB/Arsenal Wink

I never been on a football pitch of that quality either. It looks almost unreal!

1288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: November 10, 2021, 06:29:25 AM
it’s pretty frustrating. After 11 rounds I had only 9 exact scores with 27 close predictions. Obviously, I have no luck in this game.
This is my third or fourth participation in this pool, and I seem to be getting worse.
Now is an international break (I hate it  Roll Eyes), and this will again bring some unexpected results but maybe the break will please me too.

I am in position 42 out of 48 and that is worse than it looks because of inactive players Smiley This means worse than 80% of players in this pool,,, but on Tottenham fans group I am only worse than 75% of the players there so I feel at least I would be better off if players were worse here  Tongue

Also I am personally proud to get 15 results points, which is more than half of the players currently in the top 10 of this pool  Grin

2 yellow caps and I will get close I can feel it!
1289  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency is important for a country? or not... on: November 10, 2021, 04:42:36 AM
Not so essential to be honest because not everyone uses cryptocurrencies in a country, they're probably around the low end percentage of the population so it's not that big of an impact that they have when they're using cryptocurrencies. Maybe now that there's more NFT and P2E games, it might be different.

Definitely not critical and very strongly unessential,,, people love the El Salvador news but the recent developments there prove that crypto was not seen as essential for the citizens. And Bitcoin was created to be a peer to peer type of money. If the people do not feel it is important enough there, then it is not ready or essential for them. It is hard for a p2p currency to argue against majority right?

1291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you spend your Bitcoin? on: November 08, 2021, 11:37:31 AM
Which country are you from? Show me one single instance where the customs checks if things are bought with BTC/crypto. This will never happen in customs in any country today.
Made me wonder also , because in transaction slip(If there will be) surely it will be indicated as Dollars or Fiat and will not in Bitcoin so how come that custom officials may trace that he uses crypto in buying the items.

That is nonsense and never happens. And they did explain it but anybody who has ever bought something from overseas will tell you, customs are only interested in 1> How much is the value of the thing you brought it 2> Is it allowed to be brought in 3> Is it taxable from customs.

This is what decides how much they tax you if any,,, they do not care if you used gold, dollars, shells,,, and have no authority to find out anyway.
1292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be careful with the hype on: November 08, 2021, 11:03:31 AM
What statistics though? Bitcoin statistics did not show anything in early first few months.

By statistics I mean how good the coin is, it's utility, it's demand and how well is it doing in the current market.
Bitcoin was the first cryptocurrency hence it was inevitable to compare it's statistics with any other similar asset. But that's not the case these days.
Since there are many other cryptocurrencies we can easily compare a new coin/token with other cryptocurrencies to find out how well it is doing in the current market.

But as I said,,, all of those "how good" "utility" and "demand" statistics did not show up well for Bitcoin and anyway could not be reliable until many years later. And should still be a good comparison with today.

Just because token ABC has no statistics and XYZ has, does not mean one is better than the other. I can show you plenty of shitcoins with all kinds of high demand and "great tech" and zero utility yet they are doing well in price. Whereas some great coins OLD ones with utility like Gridcoin for years is helping actually scientific research and is not even easy to buy.

So we had another set of busts and again just so close to hitting push boundaries, but this is the way games go and we look again at another opportunity with our Soccer Blackjack thread.

This one in a league I have not seen before,,, second division Spanish football!

I guess we should expect to bust double more often if teams just do not want get us over into push points Smiley

But it was all very close anyway Real Madrid just needed 1 more point.

Today is the special ex gf again match and can Arsenal follow Southampton and give them a reminder not to change partners so soon? Smiley

Two back to back busts, so I am sure one day we will have in the new rule series a double Blackjack.

But do not neglect to bet on today as it is a huge Derby between the two Manchester clubs. Ole vs Pep. Ronaldo vs de Bruyne?

We should keep monitoring the project and it's statistics. Only then we can find out if it is worth investing in the project.

What statistics though? Bitcoin statistics did not show anything in early first few months.

Nothing beats involvement in the project on your own level, to see if there are people hyping or people using. For me,,, I learn that if the project only has 10 people but 9 are extremely passionate,,, building and using and experimenting, this is better for the future than a room with 10,000 people but not a SINGLE one is working on building/using. Guess which has "high" statistics? Smiley
1297  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: November 05, 2021, 01:05:58 PM
I am also very surprise with this selection because right now they need someone who can bring them out of relegation and having some very good things in very short span of time about Eddie Howe he is not familiar with these things just have one job which also lost due to team's relegation, so it's big risk by Newcastle new management.

But, after reading some details I am feeling they are having no choice because Conte is already settled with Tottenham and Emery and Fonseca are also not interested, so this is mission impossible for new coach and management if they fail in this experiment then surely they have to go in Championship for one season because after having Eddie and giving him sometime they can end in some horrible result.

I see this as a temporary measure. They know they want the best and they can afford it at any time but they know also Newcastle does not have the pull until they can find a sporting director to buy the players they need,,, and then maybe a coach at a later time next year.

For sure,,, Eddie Howe is not the biggest name in football but as you say, it is not like they have any choice, and they could still do much worse than a guy who knows how to play attractive football unlike Steve Bruce  Grin
1298  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC Fight Night & Main Event: Sportsbet.io Predictions & discussion on: November 05, 2021, 10:37:00 AM
Long shot and going against the odds is what betting is all about. Because as we all already know the favorites can't win all the time and eventually lose.
Unless your Nurmagomedov.
Didn't know Hooker was going against his little brother or I would of thought about this match more then all the 5 second I actually did saying it will last ast 2.5 rounds. Ah well, need to do more research on these main bouts from now on.

Anyways, ON TO THE NEXT UFC EVENT 268! Grin
This one is going to be one of the best we have seen with three title shots for the championship belts mens and womens all in one night.

Hooker was going on his little brother?? How is it they have different names and even I did not come across any of that mention? Or did you mean only "metaphysically"  Cheesy

Anyway tell me what your big research ends up for the three big games. I want to put a parlay with boost on biggest odds,,, to try and change my luck from football for a while.
1299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Still believe in coins or tokens that keep dropping in price? on: November 05, 2021, 09:29:38 AM
From your nick,,, from your history,,, and from everything you say, OP is not even telling the truth.

Someone who can afford to buy $1200 worth of worthless crypto, where this would be a huge fortune at least 6 months salary if not 1 year in their country (I can tell from their name), and then ask for advice, is just plain lying.

^ Beware the yellow and red card for the coach, Mourinho made me smile a lot of times to get this,,, and I think Pep Guardiola and Diego Simeone and even recently Koeman have all become famous for getting this types of cards. Too bad it doesn't help us as yes I think we have a few already in Brazil that would have been 21 if counting them  Grin
