1301  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Am I being scammed? on: September 29, 2023, 06:49:00 PM
Thank you guys. I felt like it was a scam, my guts kept me safe. But I'm a novice at crypto in general. My only experience was through Robinhood and that was just buying and selling. No wallets or anything so I had no clue. Again thank you guys.
That's good that you've got that gut feel that it was a scam because it was really a scam. Remember that no one is going to give you free money for no reason. And when they ask you to deposit certain amount of money for you to claim it, that's what the scam is.
You just can't receive xx amount of money and then you'll have to pay xx amount for you to get it. That's the logic of scam, they're making you feel you're obliged to pay what they're asking for that money out of thin air that's actually just air and there's no money at all.
Now that you're able to see answers of everyone. You're now free to lock this topic as it has served its purpose. Check it on lowest part on left and see 'lock topic'.
1302  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I smell fear... on: September 29, 2023, 05:12:39 PM
AFAIK, he's a bitcoin bull and has always been vocal on how he's investing in Bitcoin. My understanding on what he said is in positive manner of being priceless. But if it's the negative thought that's inside of his mind or everyone's thought, remember that Bitcoin has gone through a lot of these series in the past where people have thought that it's gonna die just because there's something new and another technology that might overtake it. And over the past many years, Bitcoin has never been out of the stardom just because of these statements and opinions that's being taken by these media as if it's gonna bring some fear to other people whether the person saying it is anti or pro Bitcoin.
1303  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Let fear to lose be motivation to learn on: September 29, 2023, 12:55:13 PM
Since I know cryptocurrency my biggest fear is to lost all my capital or large amounts in trading or investment, because of the fear in me I don't do things that I'm not sure of or things I don't know. My fear to lose have always been a motivation or a reason for me to know things concerning cryptocurrency,  I fear to start trading when I'm of myself that I know nothing to trade , fear to start investment when I know that I don't have a source of income.
Don't trade and don't invest when you're unsure. But here's the catch, you can set aside trading and not learn about it but you need to learn how to take risk in investing. That's the way to go in order for you to gain on this market. If you're not going to learn how to invest and take risk, you'll gain nothing.

My fear have been a motivation to learn,  even If I start trading I may lose but not to lose everything because of the understanding I have. My fear to lose have always made me to take the right decisions and not to make money money my first ultimate in trading and investment but understanding as my first priority.

I know some of my mates who are into  cryptocurrency that phobia to lose but even with the fear to lose they still go ahead to trade. If beginners allows their fear to motivate them to learn first their won't be drastic lose in trading.
Overcome your fear, that's what you need to do. Because with fear, it sets the mood to yourself not to try something new or what you really want to do which is to trade and/or to invest. When you always think first of fear, you'll not progress believe me. Just forget about your fear and keep on doing things with thought that you'll learn a valuable lesson whether you achieve success or not.
1304  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Navigating Bitcoin ATMs While Traveling. Tips and Considerations on: September 28, 2023, 11:05:36 PM
Anyone here has any solid advice and heads up on the use of Bitcoin ATM. I'll be traveling to a new city and I'm learning there are a couple of Bitcoin ATM I'm the city. I'm looking to use one in the restaurant
where it is located in . I just want to know if there's any heads up or I should avoid it and pay in Bitcoin without using an ATM?
Thanks
The most concern about using Bitcoin ATMs really are the fees just as said by everyone. But if you're for the experience or just a one time thing, you do it. Because who knows if you're going to like that and you'll just ignore the fees from it. They're convenient to use and much pretty treat the fee just the way it is with that kind of service. But there is a solution to this, you have your cash so you enjoy your journey on that city and at the same time, prepare your wallet with a bitcoin so you can pay directly with those restaurants or shops by just scanning it without having to pay a fee. And again, if you're just like to enjoy the whole experience from doing so, you just have to consider the fee if it hurts you or not.
1305  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I started a new journey today in Bitcoin on: September 28, 2023, 09:04:39 PM
So how's your start? With all of the information and tips given to you by everybody, how are they? If you're just starting out, what I can tip to you is to become active from the forum. You'll read different topics on a daily basis but to make that happen, you need to be active on a daily basis.
Also, please do consider what lovemayfamilis has said to you. Because if you keep on doing that, you'll always be reported to the mods and that's one thing for your journey to remember so that you can keep moving forward.
1306  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHAT WILL BE THE FINAL SITUATION OF BITCOIN? on: September 28, 2023, 07:49:04 PM
Wrong if you're saying someone bought at $60k and then the price now is $27k, there's still value or left from that money. It is that the value of the money that someone invested from it before has become lesser. But that's okay because this is what volatility means and that person just have to wait again until the price surpasses the $60k line. This has happened before and said during the peak of $20k and many have thought who's going to buy at that line knowing that it was an ATH, then another ATH came in.
1307  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Bitcoin Can play its role to overcome the Financial Crises on: September 28, 2023, 10:18:48 AM
Conclusion:

Bitcoin is becoming one of the safest and important technique during financial crises in this modern era. It is helping to provide stability, honesty, and financial freedom to people funds where no other one has any access to their assets, even though Bitcoin also has some challenges like price fluctuation. So, it is obvious that Bitcoin is changing and getting most adoptable day by day like how we deal with financial crises in this time.
As we know how uncertain financial times around the world happening, we need to pay attention like how Bitcoin can help us to overcome in the financial crises and tough time. It's not all about making it a trend somehow, it's a big rotate that we all need to think about and adapt to by giving it time and having knowledge, spreading knowledge about it.
Don't forget that it was also made during the financial crisis on 2008. And like what has happened these past few years, we've been experiencing crisis left and right and not just financial crisis but a global trend.

So, what we need to do? We have to give our time to this field to overcome our financial crises. The key is that how much we give our time to this field we learn that much about it.
And not just time but the money that we're investing on it, it could be from our savings or from other assets, investments and businesses that we have.

Bitcoin is a volatile investment, and whether you can profit from it to get you through a crisis or make you worse off depends on your knowledge and skills. Bitcoin does not guarantee you anything, you are responsible for your life.
This is true, it just so happen that those who believed Bitcoin and took risk out of their pockets can be said to be knowledgeable investors. Because they/we know something that others don't and that's why we're moving forward on it and still holds no matter what bad news comes out.
1308  Economy / Services / Re: ⭐⭐ Looking for ⭐⭐ Campaign Manager ( Bitcointalk, Bounty etc' )⭐⭐ on: September 28, 2023, 08:35:07 AM
All of the given links are good lists if you're looking for a campaign manager. But most of those are no longer updated and the one that I'll be suggesting you isn't on that list yet but he's known in the forum and are currently managing a lot of campaigns. He's got no thread for his portfolio but everyone knows him and his reputation. Check icopress' profile to see all of the campaigns he has managed and currently managing.
1309  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why do hacks still occur? on: September 28, 2023, 06:42:47 AM
3. The fact that nothing is totally unhackable.
This is very frightening! but these companies can make their security protocol difficult that it is discouraging for hackers to consider hacking right? I think they are not preemptive.
Yeah, they can do that and what they are doing is just letting a third party security partner do the thing for them. And that's already there before they establish the exchange or service. But just like the others during their early days, the security wasn't tight for them and that's when they become serious when they're seeing the growth of their business. Somehow, the staffs needed to be trained in security matters too. Because one wrong move especially on those who takes tickets and concerns, when they've been penetrated through that. Then, they will definitely going to lose their jobs.

1310  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: please help me? on: September 27, 2023, 11:45:44 PM
Can't find that address from the forum so how can you be sure that he's from here?
~snip~

I think there are three possible options why the OP is publicly asking for something like this on the forum.

  • The first option is that for some reason he thinks that all people who have something to do with Bitcoin have an account on this forum.
  • Another option is that the scammer may have mentioned this forum to him or that he has an account here.
  • The third option is that the OP is just trying to catch someone naive and play the victim, to whom someone will take pity and send a donation.

Whatever it is, I'm sure that neither the scammer will show mercy, nor will anyone be so naive as to send a donation.
Yeah, all of those are possible. Maybe there will be someone who's gonna react that he's the real one but we highly doubt that as these scammers really are not going to show to the public that they are scammers. Anyway, OP seems to be busy but I think he's aware of the replies here that no one will be able to find out who's the owner of that address but then I suggested him that the funds were all sent to Binance and he can ask if the exchange to cooperate with him.
1311  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bybit expects to exit UK market on: September 27, 2023, 10:00:58 PM
-snip-
Such policies are really game changers especially if they're favorable to the community but if not, they'll have to see the effect of it and who knows if they will alter that decision later on.
I see this does not bring more benefits in the long run. After all, crypto literally cannot be censored, especially in P2P use.
Well, that's true and cannot be denied. Despite that this is like the space where anonymity and censorship is its utmost feature, with all these matters that's being lowkey removed.

I remember the case of Binance where they were able to serve Chinese users thanks to employee guidance, they actually grew in a country that was against crypto.
Yeah, I remember that and that issued died eventually and seems to be like forgotten forever. This is what regulations they're getting that seems to be strict in actions but we see how the system has a glitch.
1312  Other / Off-topic / Re: Google is 25 Today - What has been Your Experience ! on: September 27, 2023, 08:59:37 PM
Definitely Google has been my friend ever since in my school days and it's like a magic and charm when I was searching for academic things back then. Going to the library is quite far in my house and my school was also distant and that's why it was like my go-to library back in the days.
How long was it already, 25? Oh my, I'm getting old.. to scare all of you, we're all getting old. But honestly, this is a good technology that everyone has embraced and been helpful to us. Who has thought that this search engine will grow a lot this time and have become the most sought compan by most employees.

Also, the name 'Google' is way better than 'Alphabet'.
I agree, and I hope that they put it back.
1313  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto exchanges have to learn and improve on their security on: September 27, 2023, 07:30:39 PM
Many times exchanges have always been targeted since they're like honeypot in the eyes of the hackers. I do believe that they are investing in security but it's probably like that it's not just enough to protect themselves and their customer's money. Maybe there's just a point of time that the hacker just seen a very small hole and opportunity and able to get in through that. Sometimes, these hacks could be a collaborated job done with the help of some of their employees that has access to the critical part of the operations, I dunno but that's possible. While they're taking hundred of millions of deposits to billions on their volumes, I do think that they're doing regular routine of checking everything related to their security.
1314  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin merch recommendations on: September 27, 2023, 12:05:08 PM
I don't know a reputable store that sells that type of merch that's helping them to support the ecosystem if ever you purchase a merch from them. I've tried to look on the Goods section but found none. So my suggestion is just look to your local online e-com stores and maybe there could be some merch available on them or try etsy. Just a reminder that I know that we're proud to be investors or holders of Bitcoin, but don't you forget that you're exposing yourself to the others that you own it and might be targeted by bad people that can do a wrench attack to you. Just as what happened on this news; Armed robbers hold up UK cryptocurrency trader in latest bitcoin heist
1315  Economy / Economics / Re: Surge in Bankruptcy Filings And Economic Crisis Vs Recession Vs BTC Price on: September 26, 2023, 11:43:58 PM
https://twitter.com/WhaleWire/status/1705776976089256341?t=PtzaGiRaDcbdjzwFDYF3Bg&s=19

There is data from WhaleWire regarding the surge in corporate bankruptcy filings which reached the same level as past economic crises such as the Great Recession in 2008 and the pandemic in 2020. This certainly raises concerns for the world economy.
The concern is valid and we're seeing the domino effect of it through many layoffs from various companies, and note, these are the huge companies that employes thousands of employees.

And periods like this historically occur before significant stock market crashes. Will this affect the price of BTC too. If the entire market falls, does it rule out the possibility that there will be a sell off too? and of course BTC will also be affected?
While we can say that the BTC market is inversely proportional. There are times that it is directly proportional from it. The point here is that, we'll never know that but if we'll look at the basics of Bitcoin, we can be of the same opinion that it's also getting some touch of the global markets and whatever happens to it and then will eventually locks out from the tie it's getting from it.
1316  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Warning] Even the official links aren't safe anymore. on: September 26, 2023, 10:14:19 PM
I don't use huobi but I follow them on their social media platforms. I think that there was this issue also in the past from blockchain.com wherein their one telegram channel was also compromised and replaced. Good thing that you guys have reported this already to them and let them bust that and replace that with their official channel's link. Looking at these series' of hacks, they're too many and we're not yet even in the bull run. A lot of money are outflowing on this market and are just going with these hackers.
1317  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will you do if your country did not legalize cryptocurrency? on: September 26, 2023, 08:50:47 PM
Bitcoin is a very useful thing to many people. It has provided very good opportunities, job opportunity, trading opportunity and lots more for many people to earn money for their essentials of life.
It had entirely just made another space and industry and thanks to satoshi because it keeps on growing each year that passes by.

Bitcoin halving is fast approaching, giving many people hope of investment, and making reasonable profit at the end.
That is because that is what we've used to see. The cycle every 4 year every and after halving, the bull run comes in based on what we've seen for several years.

Yet in some countries it is completely illegal. What will you do if you are a fan of bitcoin but your country did not legalize cryptocurrency?
There is nothing we can do if they declare that illegal in their country because they just don't like the whole features of it. If my country doesn't support it, that's fine as long as they won't ban it. Meaning to say, they're not supporting it either banning it but just neutral.
1318  Economy / Gambling / Re: BC.Game-🔴🔴🔴BET RED IN CRASH!🔴🔴🔴 Find More Unique Games! on: September 26, 2023, 01:41:42 PM
I just want to comment that the site itself is good, but the support itself is absolutely terrible. I deposited X amount and was told I would receive a deposit bonus, but never arrived.

First time contacting support, received a response 20 minutes later telling me it would be credited soon then my chat was closed.
Second time contacting support, received a response an hour later, provided a response within 12 minutes with screenshot requested, got another response an hour and a half later asking for more screenshots and then chat closed before I could respond.
Third time contacting support, I explicitly said I had raised 2 tickets and had been closed without giving me a chance to respond and to please leave it open, I receive a response 3 hours later with a useless link to a help article which had clearly not applied and then ticket closed before I could respond.
Sorry to hear about that, aside from reaching the live chat support. Did you tried messaging them through their discord and other platforms? But since you've reached out to this thread, once the forum representative sees that, I am sure that he'll get back to you just like how they've responded with a thread that have taken their action. But it looks like 10 days has passed since the rep has logged in to the forum. While I do understand your frustration, try to follow it up on their other channel. And if they've said that it will be credited soon, maybe more patience is needed even if you've already applied it.
1319  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: please help me? on: September 26, 2023, 11:07:03 AM
Can't find that address from the forum so how can you be sure that he's from here? Also, transactions are irreversible and a robber won't return anything that he has stolen. So, if the funds from that address has already been moved or spent then there's no way that it will be returned back to you. Well, even if by just chance, a hacker/robber will not return anything to you. Sad to say OP but consider it as gone forever and review how did that hacker was able to take your funds. Did you unknowingly gave your seed phrase or private keys to a random guy that has messaged you out of nowhere? Following where it's been sent, it seems that it landed on Binance. Maybe from there if you truly want to do something without assurance that it will be taken back, contact the support and give all proofs and necessary details to prove that it was your fund that was sent by one of their users.
1320  Economy / Speculation / Re: After the bull-run plan. on: September 25, 2023, 11:52:05 PM
It's a good reminder to those that used to sell all Bitcoins that they have and never bought back after the bull run. I think it is understandable why they don't do that because they're satisfied with how much they've made. And there's nothing wrong if they sell all that they have during the next bull run if it's the actual peak price that they'll sell it. They can use the profit they've made to anything they wish to. Like doing another investment of putting it into real estate and other assets outside Bitcoin so, they just decide to reinvest it somewhere else and that's not a wrong move either.
But as holders that has longer game plan for Bitcoin, we understand why there's a need for us to be patient and have an after bull run plan. Honestly, my plan is just very simple. If the price goes up during the next bull run and it has met my set price, I'd sell but not all. I may re-buy or not but I still have a certain quantity of Bitcoin that will be good for the long term. It may not be a lot but that's like it's gonna to sit there for years.
