1321  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Coinomi wallet issues??? on: March 31, 2022, 08:31:50 AM
Op didn't come back after posting this and I want to hear about OP's opinion regarding those suggestions and comments above which are right and wise advice.

I didn't aginst here with the Coinomi wallet regarding the security, it can be trusted even though it's a closed source multi-coin wallet (it's better than other web wallets).  The thing that I don't like about this wallet is that has high fees and sometimes it takes more time before it will be synced into the node.  But for a single wallet like storing Bitcoin, I would rather choose Electrum over Coinomi.

I think open source and close source don't matter to me IMO, as long as you know how to keep your private key safe you'll be fine.
For cold wallets, it's fair enough to use hardware wallets or airgap wallets, they're surely safe and never hold a big amount on any hot wallets.
1322  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Claiming bitcoin cash and eCash from old btc wallet on: March 31, 2022, 07:05:00 AM
This topic shouldn't be here.

But to answer your question here's my suggestion if you have got a private key you can use it to export into another wallet and maybe this will help you.
https://www.bitcoinabc.org/electrum/

Make sure that the node is properly connected to the BCH network so that it will sync in and show the real balance and also, make sure that you've downloaded the latest version.

I would use Coinomi. I know it is a closed source wallet and there were problems in the past, but you have a lot of forks and this wallet will easily get all of them for you. BCH, BCHA, BSV, BTG, etc etc... coinomi supports most of them and it is safe to just receive coins and send straight away.

You need to be careful and split your coins. There is a nice guide here:

https://coinomi.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/29000026274
I don't know if this Coinomi wallet is good to recommend if you have concerns about fees, I hate using this wallet because of its very high fees especially swapping coins.  Op can split the BCH and eCash using Electrum ABC and Electron Cash, for further information see this, Splitting eCash and BCH coins using Electrum ABC and Electron Cash.

1324  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin reaches maximum, target $80K BTC on: March 29, 2022, 11:58:23 PM
This should be on the Speculation board, you will see there is a lot of speculation regarding Bitcoin price prediction.

It's too early for me to say that Bitcoin becomes a bullish trend, we didn't yet break the wall of the previous price and considering another new ATH is coming.

I know there are a lot of positive predictions from our expert traders but for sure all of them are still guessing and predicting the market price, nothing more.

For now, let's wait for that when it will happen, the price of Bitcoin will go up when it goes up.
1325  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is Bintexmo legit or a scam? on: March 29, 2022, 11:47:02 PM
this platform has supposedly given out 10 ETH to winners of its lottery..
it this true???
How many winners should be able to win this prize?
That's too much and I don't even trust if someone given that large amount as a prize.  I don't find any accuse towards them at this moment so I didn't give any feedback or discrimination against them.  Just try a little amount that you can afford to lose if you're willing to try, but there's no assurance about their legitimacy and that's what we worried about.

It's an unknown platform and doesn't have enough reputation, it's now your call if you will use this platform but as others do, a highly recommend stay away and don't lure they've offered.
1326  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Few Tips I learnt from trading that blew my account. on: March 29, 2022, 11:21:41 PM
~snip~

[5]. Don't be greedy:The master of it all.
Greediness can reap you off all your profits already gained from the market when you're trying to gain it all. Be contented with the profit you've got and have plans for profits taking.
This is one the biggest challenge I faced during my early time of trading and even now but it's reduced and controled.

Don't be greedy is one the most crucial in my mind because when I go greedy I can lose it all in a few moments.
It's indeed!
That's why we shouldn't chase our losses and control our greediness.  And maybe you forgot to add this in OP, it should also have a stop loss so that you can minimize your losses once there is.

I know it's very easy to say these things but for sure it's hard to do this especially when you forgot your goal.  Trading it's always been crucial, we should have these skills, knowledge plus instinct.
It's all about how we can manage ourselves in trading, there's no shortcut, everything should gain with pain.
1327  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Tips] Ways to Protect Recovery Phrase - Mnemonic on: March 29, 2022, 11:00:46 PM
I tend to agree with those stated OP above except on these two options, store in your memory and password manager it seems not a good option IMO.

Storing in your brain is not good because I tried it before, years had passed for sure you will forget those seed phrases that you store in your mind, we aren't computers that we can able to save the file in our mind, it might a matter I days or week you will forget those phrases.

Store password on manager seems the risk too, it's a third-party app that you shouldn't trust.  I have seed phrases that wrote on the book, each word as I was spread on the different pages just like a birth month and birth day, that's maybe a good idea to confuse and not easy to track.
1328  Economy / Marketplace / Re: OTC BITCOIN MARKET PLACE on: March 28, 2022, 03:33:01 PM
@Ratimov made a huge list regarding a [BIG LIST] Buy/Sell Crypto (OTC, P2P, DEXs, CEXs, NO-KYC, ATMs, etc.), you can visit that thread and understand it very well.

Here either you can buy cheaper or you may have to pay more it depend on who is selling ?  how many coin is selling ?  Who is buying ? How the transaction is made ?
First, what's OTC?  It's "Over the Counter".
So IMO, the platform that has hosted OTC or is an act of an escrow or a middleman between two parties trading transactions could be swapping crypto or crypto to fiat.  As I heard, buying and selling large amounts on the P2P transaction or OTC is you may encounter difficulties in trading assuming that on this kind of platform there are fewer traders.

I trust no one except on Bisq and Hodlhodl, they're fully decentralized, and it is very safe to trade p2p.
1329  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What and where? on: March 28, 2022, 02:39:35 PM
I saved up a few this month and planning to invest a part of it in trading but I'm not really sure where to start. What should I trade and I'm leaning on using binance since I am confident in using it for a year now. What can you suggest?
Choosing a good exchange is a good start and where you can entrust your money and let them hold it for your trading activities.
So you've chosen the Binance exchange which is a good pick, they've supported many coins listed on that platform and not only trading, either staking is also available on their platform.

I suggest having first knowledge and skills in trading and don't expect too much profit from the start because you're building up an experience there's a possibility of losing your fund.  You should always be ready when to decide to start trading, it's very crucial and not easy of making money and I hope you understand that in trading, earning isn't the most subjective, earning experience too is a must.
1330  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What have been your crypto trading experience on: March 27, 2022, 11:58:41 PM
Ain't have much experience in trading but based on my past experience, I always look forward to my mistakes and errors that will not happen again in the next session in my trading.  Trading is very crucial for me and it's hard to earn money there, ain't even know how to have a fundamental and technical analysis and that's why as of now, I preferred to invest in the long term which is I saw that there's potential than trading.

By doing this, you don't have a miserable experience in trading.
  • Be always in a long term
  • Manage risk
  • Diversify your portfolio if it's neccesarry
  • Avoid pump and dump coins
1331  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What Happens If You Send Btc At Same Time on 2 Different Devices? on: March 27, 2022, 11:32:06 PM
I heard this is actually called a double spend... is that correct?  So basically some people who want to scam would say okay I send you btc and then they send it... but they also send btc to another address at same time?  So they might send you the transaction id for you to check on blockchair to see the confirmations?  But the transaction they send to you... which they want cancelled... it would still show one or two confirmations... before it eventually will get rejected?  Is that how it works?
You know the Bitcoin network is really good and smart, once the transaction has a confirmation even it's one confirmation, it will be confirmed and once there's a confirmation, it's an irreversible transaction.

All comments above are right, this is just an addition and a friendly reminder.
The safe transaction should always have to wait for at least 3 confirmations on the network, that's usually considered as a safe transaction and can't even be canceled through RBF.  You can't broadcast two the same transaction at once, it should always be one transaction.
1332  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fairly new and had been ignorant but I know bitcoin works though. Still learning on: March 27, 2022, 11:07:04 PM
I read through the forum rules and happy to know that it's tightly moderated to intelligent discussions.
I hope you do not get too disappointed when you browse the forum more.
Jus like any platform on the internet, do not take all contents posted to be accurate, there are lots of spam around the forum and posts made solely for the sake of it. Always verify what you read.

Thanks for looking out. I know the internet isn't really a safe place and people can be misleading on purpose. I'm not ignorant anymore. I do try to verify for myself whatever I see on the internet. There are lots of information on here and people who understand it better than I do and I intend to browse through the lot. Thanks
You're in the right place to start with, just keep reading and spend your precious time here to gather more information about Bitcoin and other stuff behind it.  We're a community here and you are free to ask if there's something that you don't understand.  I was once in your situation when I was a newbie and I understand you very well on seeking the right information, that's a wise decision to always verify what you've heard.

See you around and I hope someday you will learn everything about Bitcoin.  It has an advantage always if we know much more about how Bitcoin works and it starts here in the forum.
1333  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Buying Cryptocurrency with Cash in Europe? on: March 25, 2022, 11:10:49 PM
If you don't mind paying high fees (from what I understand) then why not also try Bitcoin ATMs? I don't have any near me as I know of and I feel like it's not really popular in my part of the planet but I keep reading about ATMs in Europe and America so I guess there is a quick and reliable option (it is a bit more risky with P2P if you are new).
It played on the range of 13% fee down below if you buy Bitcoin on any Bitcoin ATMs based in Europe according to the CoinATMRadar
It's too hurt to our pocket to cover those fees but if you've no choice, it might be good if you'll accept that you've already lost a certain amount because of the fee.

If you don't care about KYC, find a better exchange that you can be trusted, most exchange platforms now are required KYC verifications, and if you can deal with this, go for CEX.IO or in Coinbase.
1334  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: HitBTC scam on: March 25, 2022, 10:57:17 PM
HitBTC has been selectively scamming people for years using their KYC process, and I don't know how long people will come into realizing this so that they immediately cease to use the exchange. Their KYC verification process is endless, and they will frustrate the victim who will eventually give up on claiming the money thinking he can not pass KYC verification.
I tend to agree with this, even though I wasn't personally have experienced scamming but one of my friends told me that he has an issue with using this exchange.  TBH, I have used this exchange platform before and I have never encountered a problem, but that was the there's no KYC process but when they implemented I never used this exchange anymore.

I can compare the HitBTC exchange to the Blockchain.com we wallet, it seems like they don't have support because as I have heard, it will take time before the CS will respond.  Next time, find a better exchange that doesn't have shady behavior.
1335  Economy / Speculation / Re: Expect Bullrun this year again! on: March 22, 2022, 11:50:09 PM
As much as I want to believe that this analysis is true but the question is how realistic is this? If you are going to look at the chart you will see that the line for the next bull run will be in the next halving cycle and what we get this year and in another year is just the bear market. Although, it doesn't quite fit as a bear though but this might lead to bear run soon. Try to draw a line from two years ago up until now and you will see and I think if another FUD would come out maybe that would be the start.
Do you mean repeat itself?
Possible, but I think there's no bullrun, it's supposedly a bear market if you think it repeats itself.
But who truly knows if Bitcoin will create a bull trend this year the same as we didn't expect last year that we have experienced twice reaching a new ATH.
Be ready always, whatever happens, just hold if you didn't see yet a profit, just aim for a profit that you've to wish to have or if you didn't money don't sell you Bitcoin, that's is very simple as that.

IMO, I don't believe in repeating itself on the price of Bitcoin, we have different events and news that can have an effect on the Bitcoin price.
1336  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Meet Bitcoin Embassy Bar, a Bitcoin themed bar in Mexico on: March 22, 2022, 11:37:24 PM
It's not new to us that there are cafe bars, convenience stores, and even supermarkets that accept Bitcoin as a payment or choosing as their theme.
If you're a Bitcoin enthusiast, you may love to visit this place if near your country and meet with others who are also interested in Bitcoin.

I found their Facebook page too, https://www.facebook.com/bitcoinemb/.
They're also very active on that account posting events and giving updates regarding upcoming activities.

Let's hope that we find a few places like this that truly admire Bitcoin, not on shitcoins.
1337  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tips and tricks for day trading on: March 22, 2022, 11:23:59 PM
If you want to learn more about trading I have a good source with lots of guides and tools free or paid.
Here's the link https://github.com/SpiralDevelopment/Awesome-Crypto-Trading and check this too https://github.com/nikepan/awesome-crypto-trading
You've given good resources which is where OP all he needs, all he needs to do is to have deep research and understand those analysis before making such a step into trading.

• Could you explain to me a good strategy?

• Which websites are the best for analysis?

• Who should I follow on Twitter or Reddit to read about their analysis and predictions?
We have different strategies if you feel that you're comfortable with your strategy then use it, if not, find another one and apply which gives them an accurate result.

Tradingview is the website that can be used as a tool for the analysis which is on the link provided above.  TA and FA are good analyses if you know how to use both.

No, never follow anyone, just have your own research instead, they will mislead the opportunity that supposedly you can take.  Most of the people that share predictions and analysis in social media are those pump and dump group.
1338  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wallet that supports BTC on PC (Extension) on: March 22, 2022, 11:07:05 PM
I suggest don't use a multi coins wallet for your Bitcoin, use a single wallet that is only intended for storing Bitcoin and I think Electrum is already enough which is safe and open-source wallet.  Be careful on downloading chrome wallet extension, there has been reports recently that many people has been scammed and drained their wallet because of the phishing link that they downloaded.

Most of the wallet chrome extensions are prone to hack upon using third-party software through their API.  It's not recommendable at all.
As most suggested above was right, choose a better open-source wallet than the chrome extension wallets.
1339  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to start? on: March 21, 2022, 11:14:43 PM
Actually sir there could be negative reason also behind choice this name this not a big deal but if you suggest me to change this name also then i will change name no prb actually i am new in this matter so i choose it! If there is any option to change name!!
Unfortunately, there's no chance to change your username, even sounds not good to hear that name then, that's your choice.
You're new here in the forum you should read and ask first how this forum works or rules that should be avoided not to become violated in the future.

Where can i invest first and how to start i dont need much money!  If weekly income 20-30$ its enough for me now i just wants to start in a reliable way. Everyone wants to invest in a legit source not in dust!!
You have prior research first before asking this matter, I don't usually give financial advice and I don't want there's someone to blame me once they encounter failures.  You should have your own research while you're in the crypto world, on the possible risk that will occur.
1340  Other / Meta / Re: About self moderation. on: March 21, 2022, 10:59:41 PM
If you're a topic starter or topic creator, there's no way to delete it but you can be able to edit, move your topic to Archival (the trashcan section)<snip>
Is there any advantage to moving an obsolete thread to Archival as opposed to simply deleting the posts and then locking it?
I never tried either. Cheesy

I've searched your name on Archival it seems you're right, you never move your topic starter there.
IMO, Archival is considered as a trashcan board which is no one will visit there if you have a thread that you've started and delete the body, maybe it will take a long time before it will disappear or go into deep depths.  The advantage could be, we help to lessen the task of moderators deleting that thread that we started, maybe it will take a long time they will delete the thread even if we already deleted and reported, moving to the trashcan board would be good, IMO.
