1341  Other / Off-topic / Re: Windows XP Support Now Dead on: April 08, 2014, 05:58:18 PM
1- While windows XP support is officially dead, I think 70% of ATMs and bank servers world wide still used it and they'll still get support they'll just have to pay for it

2- Windows Vista wasn't shit, people machines were shit, a Windows Vista Pack2 runs as well as a windows 7

3- I don't use windows 8 I've tried when it came out and it was an annoying experience, but MS seems to be getting it shit together right now, with the next 8.1 update 1 I might move to it and give it another try

Sadely MS dominance will not end anytime soon
1342  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin on 9gag's "hot" page! on: April 08, 2014, 05:52:36 PM
nice to see more people getting to know bitcoin  Smiley

It's still not enough, I think the best way to have a larger reach is with TV/Radio, simply because the target audience is way different than lets say a 9gag or reddit which has mainly a 20sh year old audience (which is good for the future) but for the present, for maximum reach and impact, I still believe that getting to tv, is the best and one way, is to sponsor, or cosponsor events that are going on TV for example, make documentaries with added values that people can watch on channels like national geographics and what's not

And btw, Personally I didn't watch TV for 4 years now and it's just a big dust collector right now.... but I reckon that most middle aged people watch tv and still used as their main feed of information

It will never end ! but I'm wondering what's the next topic would be?
1344  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can't connect to bitcointalk.org with my normal internet connection on: April 08, 2014, 05:36:29 PM
The forum is blocking certain IP address, such as mine. Until theymos gets back to us, ain't nothing to do but use Tor/proxies.

Yes that's what I'm doing, It's just that I don't trust random proxies with my passwords and stuff, I decided to use Tor for btalk I guess for now

The issue is still not solved, and my IP is blocked by the website, but what I don't understand, is despite reaching out to theymos and asking for help for over a week now, not a single admins replied to me

NB: I've done everything from side, I've even contacted my ISP to see if they blocked bitcointalk, which is not the case.
1345  Other / Meta / Re: Is my IP address blocked? on: April 08, 2014, 05:33:36 PM
It's possible. We've recently been seeing many IPs that drain tons of bandwidth or perform requests very quickly, so we've started banning some of these. You shouldn't have been banned unless you were doing something very unusual, though.

PM me your IP.

Hello Theymos, I have the same issue, and I pmed you about a week ago and no reply so far can you please look it up for me
1346  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can't connect to bitcointalk.org with my normal internet connection on: April 02, 2014, 05:58:38 PM
My issues started when website went down, and from there I cant connect anymore, and I'm starting to pinpoint the issue :

1-When I use Tor, or Proxies, I connect to the website without any issue
2-At first I thought it was a dns issue, so I flushed my dns, I also scanned my pc in case I was the victim of a malware which doesn't seem the case
3-I used different browsers and it doesn't change things much
4-all the devices in my network, cannot connect to bitcointalk directly
5-All the devices can connect to bitcointalk using an alternative network

when I insist on firefox I get this error (but rarely)
Code:
Error: unexpected parser state
Source file: jar:file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/chrome/toolkit.jar!/content/global/netError.xhtml
Line: 323, Column: 68
Source code:
        <div id="ed_connectionFailure">&connectionFailure.longDesc;</div>

So for me there are two possibilities :
1- ISP/Router blocking bitcointalk which doesn't make much sense
2- bitcointalk is blocking similar IPs to mine which is possible and for this I need the confirmation of an admin, so I don't know who to contact in this condition theymos maybe?

Appreciate the help guys

thanks

Hello,

In the last 24hrs I couldn't connect to the website with my home Internet connection directly and I had to either use a proxy or use other Internet connections such my mobile to be able to do so, I tried different browser, tried to flush the DNS, rebooting my router, removing my firewall for a few secs to try and and no matter what I couldn't get it to work, so I'm thinking it might server related, if you have any suggestion please feel free to listed bellow, also can a website admin please check if my ip wasn't blocked by mistake or something like that, thank you

Edit : here are some more informations

My issues started when website went down, and from there I cant connect anymore, and I'm starting to pinpoint the issue :

well duh it was obvious it is an april fool, but it isn't for me lol I still can't connect to bitcointalk, without using a proxy or my mobile internet I don't know what's happening
1349  Other / Off-topic / Re: [NOTICE] Bitcointalk forum will be closed for 24 hours starting later tonight. on: April 02, 2014, 04:57:19 AM
Even if it was an april fool or partially, I coudn't connect to bitcointalk for the last 24hrs or more, and I still can't don't know why, but I think something is wrong with my dns, I had to use my 4g connection to get connected, also weirdly I can connect to the website using proxies, hopefully this will fix the issue I'm having an the browser will know that the website is alive when I switch back to normal internet connecton

I heard the maintenance will be extended, since they want to move the data to the new forums they've built with the BTC donations. Finally the new forums is ready celebrate guys!

How many million do you need to be considered a millionaire by your standards?
at least 214million € (dollars won't do as they are like satoshies in front of the €)

is it true that tomorow BTC will be selling for 2K$?
Apparently as in April 1st China decided to use BTC as an Official means of transaction and money transfer
1359  Other / Off-topic / Re: Earn BTC/LTC by helping me with physics coursework (BSC 1st year) on: March 31, 2014, 11:03:48 PM
Ah yes there is and that bit i wasn't sure about

The last bit just says oscillations with frequencies
w = sqrt(3/2)* P(o)/m*(r_o)2

P(o) is the angular frequency, normally noted as L

Ok so Phi is our Theta right?, if I consider question C, the Theta is not a constant since there is an angular momentum and thus we should keep the equation as you wrote it but wierd, since if we leave the system on it own it will have a linear momevement
1360  Other / Off-topic / Re: Earn BTC/LTC by helping me with physics coursework (BSC 1st year) on: March 31, 2014, 10:54:03 PM

a= Correct

b= Euler Lagrange? correct aswell

For c, I don't understand what they mean by substitution
but anyways you have a second order linear differential equation (w= omega) -w²r+ r''=gsin(wt) [<=> (-1/2)r + (1/2w²)r''=(g/2w²)sin(wt) useless for really just if you want to show B and when you want to solve for the particular solution you can use this form]
differential equation of second order:
Ok let's first find the solution for r"-w²r = 0
The solutions of this m²-w² =0  <=> m= -/+w
thus solution r(t)= A1e(-wt)+A2e(-wt)

Now we need a particular solution r(t)= Bsin(wt)
we replace in -w²r+ r''=gsin(wt) =>  -w²Bsin(wt)) -w²B(sin(wt)=gsin(wt) => -2w²Bsin(wt)= gsin(wt) hence B= -g/2w² (I have a - more than the question weird, I must forgoten a  - somewhere I trust you with the revision, it's not hard
Then I supose the substitution is the combination of both to get the generale solution which is the one written

for question d, it's easy, just apply the limit conditions given and find A1 and A2

And that's answer the second exercise
