I know ponzi's are very frowned upon on the community, but it looks like honestdoubler is/has been paying out and more and more people are going there to double up in 100 hours... Now I know the site will eventually fail because you can't ever keep a ponzi successfully running due to the amount of investors run out... but might as well try your luck while the site is still in it's early days

Bitcoin is e-gold that has features of cash too. I treat it myself as internet or might I say, digital gold. You buy it because you understand the technology behind it, you buy it because you understand for the first time ever scarcity has been designed in a digital way, you buy it because you know in the future its purchasing power will visit moon.
And at the same time, I could get some of it and buy some starbucks coffee (something you will never be able to do with gold and whatnot).
Yeah, that's ver true.. But not only that, I believe we are making strides in seeing how the first btc debit cards are working out, and if I'm not mistaken, they're working pretty nicely. It needs to stay somewhat decentralized, but at the same time banks now and days have to see it as a legit currency that they would accept if btc were to be taken seriously and have the absolute highest purchasing power. In an ideal world Bitcoin would untie itself from fiat. The fact fiat is tied to Bitcoin is slowing down the creative process of Bitcoin's technology development a lot. I wish people would just start accepting BTC everywhere so we don't have to deal with this fiat bullshit anymore. Unfortunately this seems like a pipedream. I will not be using said debit cards tho, I want to stay debt free. If you use debit cards, its not like you are going to go into "debt"... you are just using the amount of btc you have in your wallet, just like you would use the amount of money you have in your bank. Now if they would issue btc credit cards, then yeah I would stay away from that because of debt issues.

I kind of understand where you are coming from, but since we have gotten to a point where everybody who deals with bitcoin goes here automatically to talk about bitcoin; I would propose this idea:
Let's try to get theymos or someone on here to create a section of the forum primarily focused on areas of the world that is heavily influenced by bitcoin. I know each language has their own section of bitcointalk, but what if in the marketplace section of the forum we had a US section, Euro section, etc. I don't really know how we would go about getting that done, but I feel like you're on to something here.
Getting everyone to change where they browse to get their crypto news is going to be hard though, I say lets try to make bitcointalk better.

Nothing really, if bitcoin hit $1000 it would't make rich at all. So I would hold my bitcoin until btc hit $100000 or 1mil, then I would probably cashout.
But what would you cash out to? I mean if btc were to get to that value, something bad is probably happening to the dollar or other fiat currencies in regards to crypto. I would imagine if I had a lot of btc but the time it reaches 5-10 K per coin, I would just bulk buy gold or diamonds... The most reliable, valuable, physically mined elements people will always value at a high price point.

I don't know if this is 100% true, and might be considered off topic... But I'm pretty sure if you take btc and switch them out for another coin with more anonymity features like cryptonote currencies, such as monero, you can be anonymous that way... The only risk you have is if monero loses its value over time, and the fact you would have to find merchants who would accept xmr as well..
But then again I'm not quite positive about that as well, because shapeshift might keep logs of the addresses you used, etc.

I would try and calmly discuss why you are angry with the guy to one of the mods or maybe the guy himself over PM and try to resolve the issue... That doesn't really make sense that someone would just negatively rate you out of the blue, sorry that happened if that were the case.

Wait, so why is it not a reasonable solution to buy btc from circle or xapo if you are in the U.S.? I mean they may charge a little bit, but you can buy btc as long as you have funds in your bank account..

All that these geniuses of economics have given us is a financial system that is on the brink of collapse.
If he came up with a solution for the problems we have now then I'll consider him a genius but until then he is just one of those who contributed to the mess we are in at this stage.
Economists don't provide solutions, they explain problems. That said, people with traditional mindsets can't really understand Bitcoin's potential. Krugman has been wrong about crude, he has a far lesser probability about being right about Bitcoin. Lol, this can't be more true... A lot of economist seem to know exactly what's going on with how exactly we are in trouble as a nation and in a global aspect, but can never develop a plan to get us out of it. No matter what any one says though, whoever does actually propose a solution to get the worlds national economies to gel together, will almost always get a majority of backlash because it follows a specific ideology (Marxism, capitalism, etc.) I just hope that one day a new, better ideology will come out with Bitcoin and gold as the staples of what keeps it going instead of fiat currencies... But you know how hard that'll be with old white men in central banks pulling string to keep that from happening.

Yeah, there is no telling what you are going to do with OUR money when you go put it on lottery tickets.. If "we" lose you'd just say F it and move on. If "we" win you'd either 1) run away with all the money or 2) charge some hefty fee like 50/50.

This is not good:
Turned the $35 jetwin no deposit bonus into 1 btc
Fully completed the rollover.
Click on withdrawal and it says
"WithdrawalClose Minimal withdrawal amount is 10 MBTC. User is not active, cannot withdraw"
Sent them several emails for the last 7 hours and no one answers.
Have you recieved your payout yet? I was thinking of trying some of my luck on this website, but I don't want to play if the payout has a 10 btc minimum.. That's a little too rich for my taste

Edit, this is from Unibtc himself
unibtc: There was a bug that produces same roll result. and i managed to earn 3 btc from it and was able to cashout 19:43 unibtc: then i returned it
Edit: seems i had the story a little wrong heres more detail
-snip-
#Respect for this guy *Take A Bow* Didn't know there are still people like Unibtc in the cyber world 'cause if that's a different person, the bug will be abused and won't return that btc. Hats off to Unibtc Unibtc seems like a very nice guy who shares his winnings with people in the chat aswell He is the cyber world's first "robin hood" ... man, I hate to say it, but honestly I wouldn't know if I would have the gaul to return that money or to report the bug. Good thing it happened to an honest guy like him.

A couple years ago, I got pretty hooked on scratch offs (dumbass, I know) ... but when I played my first one, just for the hell of it I won like 50 dollars off the first ticket. So I thought, what the hell might as well try out some other gas stations and play "for fun" now that I'm in the profit area... next thing I know I lost like $300 worth lol
Lotteries are cool, when they are educational lotteries.. but when you don't know when to walk away your screwed. Now for the online lotteries with btc and stuff, I'm not really sure how that works out. I would imagine it would be even harder to win/walk away from since your just casually sitting on your computer clicking a button to buy the next ticket.
IMHO lotteries are stupid
