1341  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Find Out the Wallet Type of address by Number of Characters on: July 18, 2023, 02:11:56 AM
as far as I know bc1q is a native segwit address meaning that address can get a cheaper fee when transacting to other address especially if the receiver and the sender has all native segwit address. Here you can see some benefit by using segwit address

and yes usually longer address has multisig meaning need more than one to approve an transaction. It is more safe? it always depend on you put the private key hehehhe because multisig can be hacked if you have both of the private key the example is here - https://blockworks.co/news/nomad-token-bridge-raided-for-190m-in-frenzied-free-for-all

Are you ready with the translation of the topic?
I'm ready with the translation, and I'm still waiting for a reply from fillippone regarding permission to translate it into Indonesian. I haven't posted the translation thread on the local Indonesian board to avoid overlapping with your translation if it turns out that you already got his permission first.

If there's a reply, I'll update the information.

Not yet, you can go ahead  Cool

Hi Porfirii its been a while  Cool

I'm back with a new translation #meritislife: how to be notified on a smartband of merits and mentions - fillippone

and the Indonesia translation is here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5459478
1345  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: #meritislife: Cara mendapatkan notifikasi merit dan mention dari smartband on: July 17, 2023, 03:51:08 AM
Saya make bot ini sejak tahun 2020.

1347  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Things that influence our trading decisions on: July 17, 2023, 01:21:34 AM

Most of the time, the trading decisions of people are influenced by the influencers that you've mentioned who are considered to be experts but in reality, they know nothing at all about the market and its movements, there are some channels on YouTube that do analysis and also gives forecasts for the market but their predictions are barely accurate, I know that the market is too unpredictable but if they don't know anything, they shouldn't influence others.

If I talk about myself, the most prominent thing that influences my trading decisions is obviously the market conditions and how they are doing at a certain time, some people make trades at any market condition and some do it only when it is either going up or going down, I do it when it's going up.

Personally, I have noticed that so-called experts sell their courses, offer trainings, etc. for ridiculous amounts of money. Now the question is: if you are a successful person, do you have the time to train someone for a mere penny? And almost all bloggers change their predictions very quickly. And in general, they make both upward and downward predictions - that is, no matter how the market develops, they are always right

yes I think most of the trader influencers get their money from membership and courses or training and you have a good point if they make dozen of money from their trade why still need our money.

and if they want to help traders out there they should  give what information they have into social media like youtube and got money from it rather than sell it

Maybe the reason won't be because they're so powerful, but because they just play by the rules others have written for them. If we take into account their position when it comes to forks, it is possible that at some point they (BR) will launch some new fork and claim that their BTC is the right one - and will most then side with them because they are so powerful, or will they show them the middle finger as was the case with BTC Trash (bch)?

Quote
In the event of a hard fork of the Bitcoin network, the Sponsor will, as permitted by the terms of the Trust Agreement, use its sole discretion to determine, in good faith, which peer-to-peer network, among a group of incompatible forks of the Bitcoin network, is generally accepted as the Bitcoin network and should therefore be considered the appropriate network for the Trust’s purposes.

The Sponsor will base its determination on whatever factors it deems relevant, including but not limited to, the Sponsor’s beliefs regarding expectations of the core developers of bitcoin, users, services, businesses, miners and other constituencies, as well as the actual continued acceptance of, mining power on, and community engagement with, the Bitcoin network, or whatever other factors it deems relevant.

There is no guarantee that the Sponsor will choose the digital asset that is ultimately the most valuable fork, and the Sponsor’s decision may adversely affect the value of the Shares as a result. The Sponsor may also disagree with Shareholders, the Bitcoin Custodian, other service providers, the Index Administrator, cryptocurrency exchanges, or other market participants on what is generally accepted as bitcoin and should therefore be considered “bitcoin” for the Trust’s purposes, which may also adversely affect the value of the Shares as a result.

1349  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Any legit bitcoin mining apps? on: July 17, 2023, 12:11:02 AM
tho i found cloud mining by binance but i never try it by myself https://pool.binance.com/en/cloud

Quote
Mining Duration:
180 Days Start from $13.1580
(Min. 1TH/s)
Est. Mining Duration
2023-09-30 ~ 2024-03-27
Purchase Every 1 TH/s: Cost 13.1580 USD
Est. Output During Mining
0.00000227 BTC * 180 Days

So you pay $ 13 to get back 0.00000227 BTC * 180 which is 0.0004086 BTC in 180 days, valued right now at 12$.

You have two scenarios:
- the price goes up so the mined bitcoins are worth more, but it makes no sense, you could just buy them now
- difficulty drops by a ton so you would get more coins, but that's just as improbable and far more likely it's going to go up, making it even less profitable

Yeah we already discussed here but for some reason people still want  a cloud mining hahahah

I just know after you guys tell me, and yes it actually profitable but razor thing margin and we need 3 month to get return of investment for now it is not worth it too, it is better to buy with DCA technique and maybe the return will more than this.

* Hashrate Fee 0.02 + Electricity Fee 0.0531 = 0.0731/USD/T/Day (the historical output 0.0776/USD/T/Day - Fee 0.0731/USD/T/Day = 0.0045/USD/T/Day

I wonder where the 23% comes from

So right now it's 0.0777 in profit with 0.0200+0.0531, a bit better than yours but still, you get
0.0731 in expenses and 0.0777 in revenue, which is 0.0041 in profit, so a 5% margin, nowhere near a 23% stated there.
Taking into account the current mempool spam that drove the fees up and you get a 5% bonus from this which might not be there tomorrow the profit is paper thin, one tiny dif increase and you're losing coins.

I only know 3 of them Binance, Nicehash, and miningrigrentals are currently trusted sites who offer renting hashrate/Cloud mining.

Bitdeer, which is actually the only one that has its own hashrate as it's run by Bitmain and it's not simply a reseller of rented hash rate from a pool.
Oh, and their price plan is better than Binance
Hashrate Fee: $0.0172/T/D vs $0.0200/T/D

1350  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Any legit bitcoin mining apps? on: July 16, 2023, 02:47:38 AM
Try out . Freebitco They are one of the oldest and are still rewarding users, but the reward is very small. You might need to minne for like a decay before you can get what could be worth something for you.

its called faucet, tho freebitcoin is really old and now there is no much faucet left  Cry Cry Cry

It's completely a waste of time for me, though. All these free mining sites that reward users have all been reduced the moment Bitcoin gained value, and no one is willing to waste some Bitcoin again. If you want to mine some Bitcoin, why not just go into mining fully, get some of the required tools, and set things up? Or better yet, buy and hold some Bitcoin for yourself. There is no more free money anywhere.

Yes I do agree with you cloud mining is totally waste of time and waste of money because some of it will end of scam and turned into ponzi scheme

tho i found cloud mining by binance but i never try it by myself https://pool.binance.com/en/cloud
1351  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Retiring on bitcoin on: July 16, 2023, 02:41:53 AM
first of all bitcoin price is not stable and I know the price of crypto in the long run is always UP tho for retire you need the money on monthly basis meaning you need to withdraw on bear market.

If you want to retiring on bitcoin just buy it at bear market like this take profit couple of dollar when the market is at bullis or All time high and then put the money on dividend stock so when crypto bear market exist you can still live from dividend stock and even buy more bitcoin or altcoin with staking so you can grow your money.
1352  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cz or the Sec who would you support? on: July 16, 2023, 02:36:29 AM
Hongkong belongs to China but it has a different political, economic and social structures than China mainland. At least till now, the China mainlaind has yet fully controlled Hongkong in all aspect of social operations on the island.

Or maybe china decide to put hongkong for the crypto industry and see if everything  goes well than china is going lift the ban for the crypto industry it would be great.

and yeah after XRP win and right now The SEC proceeded (https://t.me/telonews_en/7210) to officially acknowledge Fidelity's, VanEck's, WisdomTree's, and (https://t.me/telonews_en/7137) Invesco's (https://t.me/telonews_en/7137) spot Bitcoin ETF applications.

if I understand Larry Fink correctly, he says that Bitcoin will surpass any fiat currency in market cap.

I just wonder are the SEC gonna approve the Bitcoin ETF since Black rock is number 1 the world's largest asset managers

1354  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: exchanges for derivative trading on: July 15, 2023, 12:59:09 AM
if you have usdt and want to go trade derivatives like futures trade without signup and kyc you can go to a Decentralized Exchange like pancakeswap or DYDX there is also a list but I'm not using all of it here https://captainaltcoin.com/decentralized-exchanges-margin-leverage-trading/ you can also do your own research first.

if you want go to centralized exchange bingx is the exchange who dont need KYC if you have limited usdt withdraw tho Its been a long time im not using it

Things that influence our trading decisions basically a lot

sometimes I do my own research and actually this is must be number one when involve money whether trading or investment. But sometimes too I have a doubt in my heart with my current decision. tho at the end my guess was right.

or I watched people on social media they called an "expert" make my decision even blurred
1357  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: your opinion about the current fees on: July 15, 2023, 12:49:41 AM
If we talk about the fastest in transaction then the likes of XRP, litecoin, Solana and Ethereum are ahead of bitcoin. But in value and safety I wound definitely go for bitcoin. Bitcoin is the Most trusted coin on the Blockchain. The other Altcoins do not have the liquidity and also the stability of bitcoin. The only coin stable compare to bitcoin is the usdt and even it has its disadvantages. Usdt isn’t fully backed by a the dollar and just like the Usdc it can also be depegged which would result in its dumping.

Agreed I mean Bitcoin is always go to choice maybe the OP can start using native segwit to send so will get a better fee as far as I know that native segwit can save transaction by 42% on fees. which very ideal an cheap.

Tho there is ton other chain out there that also give a cent for transaction fee you might can use USDT in tron or ETh right know since both of them using proof of stake mechanism so offer cheap transaction fee
1358  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is the Binance the next to bite the dust or FUD? on: July 15, 2023, 12:43:30 AM
Good ol' greed, as simple as that.

Owners of these exchanges see people holding large amounts of crypto on their platform for longer period of time so then they start looking around for ways to maximize profit, which then leads to putting money to Celsius and similar shennanigans.

You will never find a centralized exchange which says "No thanks, we've made enough profits, no more profit for us". This is the sole reason they exist - to make their owners/operators money. Any service they provide to their users is simply a means to this end.

Yes, they will be making money from every trade and every withdrawal, but that's simply not enough for them. If they can gamble or invest your coins to make themselves even more money while passing all the risk on to you, then of course they will do that. That's exactly what all the recently collapsed exchanges from the last few months were doing.

What a crazy thing hahaha I mean some of the coin now is Proof of Stake that literally can generated more money just by sitting in Centralized Exchange wallet right they also earning from there too.

But you maybe right @Rikafip the greed is always been there

after all they are human greed is our nature  Grin

1360  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin trading and gambling on: July 14, 2023, 02:11:28 AM
Holding bitcoin is not the same thing as trading bitcoin. Gambling and trading are not the same thing too. Trading require you to learn trading skills but gambling require just some strategies. Trading can be risky like gambling, but they are not the same thing. If the price of bitcoin fall already, you can invest for months or years and you will most likely gain.

Totally agree with you holding is not considered as a gambling, tho people who blind entering market withour proper knowledge and only basic by luck and trade futures is a gambling hahahha

for you OP

Hahaha, Life is self actually gambling mate  Tongue full of risk and we want hope of a desired result. Just like you said and also life basically a game that involves money.  Lips sealed

But seriously if you consider crypto is gambling that stock and other investment platform is another gambling right?
