13721  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to complete a old bitcoin transfer from 2013 in the easiest way? on: November 24, 2017, 04:01:45 AM
Thanks for the answers so far, but as a newbie i feel there is many traps I can get stuck in in this procedyre. Or isnt it?
The only thing you need to do is: export your private key (google it if you don't know how) and import it in a new Electrum wallet. That's it.

You won't need to download anything else other than Electrum and you should be able to see and spend your funds instantly after opening your Electrum wallet.

For example shouldnt I first utdate my old wallet before importing my private keys into Electrum?
No. Just do what I said above and you will be ok.
13722  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: etherdelta scammed me on: November 24, 2017, 03:50:29 AM
I can't imagine EtherDelta scamming people. Are you sure that you don't have any malware in your computer or haven't clicked the wrong URL and entered your private key in a phising website? Almost every case I have seen where a user accuses a popular website of scamming, it was actually the user's fault.
13723  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How likely is this to ever confirm? on: November 23, 2017, 06:02:32 PM
I don't know about that.  This is extremely close to a zero-fee transaction.  Pretty unlikely to confirm these days.

Is the transaction replaceable?  Can you do an RBF transaction on it?  Because if so, that's probably your best choice.

Otherwise, you can try getting it accelerated or just wait for nodes to drop it from their mempools (this could take a while).
There are currently only ~30k unconfirmed transactions and the mempool is okay again. Not to mention that I had a few 1~10 sat/byte transactions a few days ago (when we had a huge backlog) and my transaction went through after a couple of hours. If you accelerate your transaction, it is almost certain that you will see a confirmation on the same day or the next.

Free accelerators:
-Snip-
Antpool [An account is needed - Free registration]
Viabtc [Your transaction should have a minimum of  0.0001BTC/KB (10 sat/byte) included fee]
Confirmtx [Only transactions under 500 400bytes are free]
13724  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitaddress.org - wallet question on: November 23, 2017, 11:16:26 AM
So it is not enough just to use ‘send offline’ tab when using MEW script in order to send coins - I need something that as you said ‘communicate with the network nodes’ right?

If so, then what should I use? Some
Web wallet?
Since you are using MEW, you can simple follow the instructions in the "Send Offline" tab to generate your transaction and use the Step 3 to broadcast your transaction to other nodes. Just paste your signed transaction in the last box and press "Send Transaction".
13725  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum and Electron Cash on the same system on: November 23, 2017, 10:41:07 AM
Is there even a remote possibility of an exploit?
Not that I know. I had both wallets open at the same time when I first spent my BCH and I my coins are still here. IMO, if there was any exploit or malware included in the Electron Cash fork, people would have already known.
13726  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Do you know any wallet that supports SegWit? on: November 22, 2017, 09:50:50 PM
Electrum is by far the best lightweight wallet that supports Segwit atm. The only problem is that they generate bech32 addresses which are current unsupported by almost any major service.

Other than that, I only know about GreenAddress (and Trezor/Ledger Nano S if you consider Hardware wallets).
13727  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Signing offline transaction with paper wallet Electrum 3.0.2 on: November 22, 2017, 09:11:27 PM
You can. Just create a watch-only wallet with your address/xpub in a online PC, create the transaction, send it to the offline PC where you imported the address private-key/wallet seed, sign it and broadcast through the internet.

In case you have any issues, this video explains exactly the same proccess: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQumISxkJsQ
13728  Other / Meta / Re: Is it possible to embed steemit images? on: November 22, 2017, 07:50:27 PM
Don't use steemit's image direct url. E.g:
https://steemitimages.com/DQmP5aFK9xRXWssuswpTGzCiHq5g9dM6s6BqPyTrdCiHDwJ/auction-2891804_1280.jpg

Paste it in your URL bar and press Enter. It will redirect you to a different url similar to this one:
https://steemit-production-imageproxy-upload.s3.amazonaws.com/DQmP5aFK9xRXWssuswpTGzCiHq5g9dM6s6BqPyTrdCiHDwJ

I tested it and I had the same erro with the first url, but not with the second.
13729  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the difference between LTC and BTC? on: November 22, 2017, 05:16:20 PM
BTC is Bitcoin;
LTC is Litecoin.

They are different cryptocurrencies with their own characteristics.

Bitcoin is worth more, has a lower max supply (21 million) and 10 minutes blocks.
Litecoin is basically a copy of Bitcoin, but with a max supply of 84 million and 2.5 minutes blocks (which leads to faster confirmations).

(a little bit outdated)
13730  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: changenow.io - Review? on: November 21, 2017, 09:37:14 PM
@ChangeNOW_io seems to be active on twitter answering people to send an email to support and will be assist further. Since you've mentioned that it was endorsed by @bitcoingold, maybe the team checked how trusted the service is.
This doesn't make the service more trustworthy. The Bitcoin Gold team also "endorsed" a website that helped people claim their BTG but also kept all the users seeds and resulted in a loss of over $1 million. Of course they removed the site from their page after some time. But this shows how careless they are.

Here is a thread about the scam: https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/7dsmvd/my_analysis_of_the_1_million_usd_mybtgwalletcom/
13731  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: minimize to systemtray on: November 21, 2017, 07:26:49 PM
When Electrum is running, you will find its icon in the system tray. Just double click it to toggle between hide/show.

AFAIK that's the only way to do that.
13732  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How can I generate a new address? on: November 21, 2017, 07:19:25 PM
I see it. But how do I choose any of them? I see the list, but there is no button to select them. I can get the cursus on them an click on them, but then still in the receiving tab the old address is listed. How can I select any of the addresses in the list?
Right click any address and select "Copy Address" or just select the one you want and press Ctrl + C.

So just to be sure: I can copy and paste any of the addresses in the list under the tab "used" ?
And then if I give that address to the person sending me the coins, it will arrive with me?
Yes and Yes. You can use them as many times as you want.

So for this it does not have to appear first int he  "receive" tab? Because I just cannot find out how to drag an address from the list to the receive tab
It doesn't have to. The receive tab will only show you a new address after every transaction to help you not reuse your addresses. But all addresses can be reused as many times as you want and there is no problems on doing that. You can either use the address found in the "receive" tab or any other from the list whenever you want.
13733  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitmixer clone Bitmixor , scam? on: November 21, 2017, 05:26:16 PM
Can you recommend a trusted please?
ChipMixer (check my signature). I already made a post talking about ChipMixer, so I'm just going to quote it here:

ChipMixer is innovative and efficient. As their slogan says: "Mixing reinvented for your privacy"

Take a look:

What makes ChipMixer special?

ChipMixer creates Bitcoin addresses (chips) and funds them with specific sizes. There are chips with 0.001 BTC, 0.002 BTC, 0.004 BTC and so on till 4.096 BTC. When you deposit your Bitcoins, you receive same amount in chips. For example you deposit 0.112 BTC and you receive 0.064 + 0.032 + 0.016. Each chip was funded before your deposit, so there is no link between them and your deposit on blockchain. They are already anonymous. With each chip, you receive its private key, so you can spend them any time you want.

13734  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How can I generate a new address? on: November 21, 2017, 02:50:39 PM
Go to View -> View Addresses. You should see a Address tab show in your Electrum wallet. Go there to see every address that you own and just choose any of them.
13735  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Extract seed for wallet with 2FA on: November 21, 2017, 02:41:59 PM
With 2FA, the seed is only displayed when you first create your wallet. If you lost your seed or never backed up when creating the wallet, there is nothing you can do to retrieve your coin in the future.
13736  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitmixer clone Bitmixor , scam? on: November 21, 2017, 02:00:50 PM
i think i was scammed beacuse i used bitmixor thinking that was btimixer.io beacuse i didn't see the "O"... can someone help me? i send 200 pound of bitcoin... can someone tell me what i have to do?
I'm sorry, but there is nothing you can do. Bitcoin transactions are irreversible and if you sent your coins to the scammer's address, your coins are gone.

Btw: Bitmixer stopped his services ~4 months ago. You should start using a different (and trusted) mixer.
13737  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: are exchanges supporting bc1 addresses? on: November 21, 2017, 01:53:48 PM
Most of the major exchanges/wallets won't support this format for now. I recommend you to keep using a standard address or find a way to generate a normal P2SH address while they upgrade their code.

Sorry OP. I'm pretty sure that the chances of you finding your wallet just by knowing your address are almost null. Have you checked your browser history?

Beggars every where.!
Spammers every where... at least read the thread before commenting. ROFL

Edit:
Looks like more than one people are misunderstanding what is this post. (OP isn't asking for money)
13739  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How can i get bitcoin gold on electrum [step by step] on: November 21, 2017, 11:43:29 AM
Are there any options available currently to retrieve your BTG with a pre-fork electrum seed, one that is not just for Android (Coinomi).

As for now, it seems Coinomi offers the only safe and convenient option.

Anyone knows a good electrum alternative for non-Android users?
Basically every other wallet found in the BTG website[1].

Just be careful with the fake Electrum "forks" that there is around and web wallets.

>He is a scammer

How am I a scammer?
I wouldn't say for sure that you are a scammer. But using the name of a pool and saying that you have an agreement with them to accelerate transactions while that's not true is something very shady and certainly not trustworthy. If you lied about one, why would you not lie about the others?

Btw, not sure why would you make 3 posts in a row at the same thread and all in less than 1 minute.

In case you missed:
32. Posting multiple posts in a row (excluding bumps and reserved posts by the thread starter) is not allowed.
