The getAccountId request can be used to get the public key for a secret phrase
(even when not yet announced to the blockchain).

This is fucking sweet!

So this means you can calculate the Nxt account ID for any passphrase, then transfer your Nxt there with an attachment that has the same effect as logging in and doing one transaction?

In short, this cold storage for Nxt? ...

Hi, all. Gotta start hangin' out here, and learning the nitty gritty of NXT, which my mob -- IndiaMikeZulu -- is very big on.

There is a store in Perth, W.A. owned by an NXT-er who already accepts Bitcoin. We are gonna try to meet him soon, and ask if we can hel;p set hime up to accept NXT. Any other Australian NXT-ers here?

Mark, Western Australia

DGEX has not issued such update. It seems someone is sending out emails in my name - and doing pretty well in copying my style. I would not download any of the wares linked, as it is likely they contain malware. I'm also supposing the Bitbucket repository is not Wesley's, but again the attacker is trying to impersonate him in order to gain confidence in order to spread malware.

Nxt stomped the vote with CCEDK and Nxt Multigateway getting more than two thirds of all votes. Well done people   Cheesy

And now it looks like CCEDK.com will be added to LeonArdo trading bot platform  Grin

Just talked to my partner. API is expected up next week if all works as planned.

Programmers have had to have vacation all of a sudden, which delayed things a little.

Burt we are on track, and in this week we are introducing two new FIAT currencies the RUB and the UAH via the PSP Payeer, so things are happening although not as quick
as we wish. Smiley Wink

You can already go from GBP to crypto directly in one step at CCEDK.com

They have GBP/BTC, LTC and NXT pairs.

Other fiat include USD, EUR, SEK, NOK, DKK and CHF. RUB and UAH have been annoucned to be added soon. This is exchange is one of the most comprehensive fiat exchanges around.

Looks like the language for Nxt's Smart Contracts is going to be known by thousands from the day it is released (CfB has shoe horned SQL in). That's a nice big advantage to have  Grin

1393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin Bagholders Support Group on: August 01, 2014, 01:32:05 PM
Bought $35 worth of Nxt at about 9 cents each around June. Saw it get pumped to almost 11 cents but didn't sell. Then the price got dumped all the way down to 4.5 cents. Should've seen the pump a mile away but panic bought instead. That sure cost me a lesson I'll never forget. Sad

Still hodling though. I still cling onto the hope that Nxt will do a 360 someday and the price will go back up.

My name is Puberty and I am a Nxt bagholder. Cry

What is your Nxt account?

I'll do you a deal  Grin

I'll loan you 200NXT to make you whole again so you don't have to worry and be sad. When Nxt hits $1 a piece, you give me the 200NXT back. And I won't even charge you interest

Deal?  Grin

Just to interrupt the party a moment...

Whoop!  Grin Grin

Looks like there is no catching CCEDK.com.   Grin

Keep voting at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=706537.0. This is to add CCEDK.com to trading bot platform that is likely to bring more volume to the exchange. Volume at our most comprehensive fiat exchange is a good thing  Grin

CCEDK.com (Crypto Currcency Exchange DenmarK) hosts the most Nxt/Fiat Pairs of any exchange. It currently has 7 fiat currencies (USD, EUR, GBP, SEK, DKK, NOK and CHF) and just annouced plans for RUB and UAH. This means that you can go from your home currency into Nxt in one step (assuming you live in one of these countries  Grin) You can also trade against BTC and LTC there, fees are low and you only need a username, password and email to sign up.

...ok, carry on  Smiley

today is 8.1..where is the new version?

https://twitter.com/nxtcommit/status/494159441252454401

Looks like DGS is set for implementation at block 205.000 - 210.000. The release will have to be before then to allow software to be updated ready for the new features at 205.000.

The 1st August was suggestion and rumour I thought, I never saw a formal annoucement for it from JeanLuc/Wesley.
1397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: August 01, 2014, 08:49:55 AM
Can someone give an update to the instant transactions feature.  That is the defining feature between NXT and every other coin.

As far as I understand Instant Transactions depend on Transparent Forging, which is promised to be fully implemented before the date of the first anniversary of NXT at the end of November.

Here is the development roadmap (Instant Transactions are still in design phase):
https://nxtforum.org/news-and-announcements/development-roadmap-update-2014-07-05/

mczarnek is doing an implementation that was due for completion by the end of August but I think that has slipped a little as he didn't get enough funds to take a break from RL job and work full time on it.

There is info here https://nxtforum.org/instant-transactions/instant-transaction-proposal/ but it might be out of date. mczarnek talked through the ideas with CfB, jl777 and others IIRC and they thought it was feasible. Then the posts were deleted so as not to help others. I've asked for an update  Grin

James has InstantDEX (Instant Decentralised Exchange) which will be third party software built on top of Nxt for trading on the AE. It has already achieved a proof of concept trade of 5 seconds in April, with optimisation James hopes for ~3 seconds. It is almost decentralised as it uses MGW.

You can read more about InstantDEX here: https://nxtforum.org/instant-transactions/secret-project/

The first 4 pages are mostly a gif party....

...so you might want to skip straight to the announcement on page 5  Cheesy

1399  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: July 31, 2014, 03:53:12 PM
when would be possible trading BTC LTC and USD on NXT asset exchange?

BTC/LTC when multigateway is launched (they are talking about launching a public version of MGW as we speak, it has been in testing for a couple of months now)

USD will be available through once Nxthaus is set up and running (still a couple of months away, I believe. They are awaiting the approvals)

Sorry for posting this old talk...
The multigateway looks very promising! Mg will be visually improved, or remain only as simply asset?

There will be minimal fees to use MGW and these will be shared with MGW asset holders. So if you think it MGW will be successful, you might consider buying some (Check the Asset ID before buying, I think there may be only one MGW on the Asset Exchange at the moment but there could be imposters cropping up soon so always check when adding new assets).

MGW is now on the mainnet (has been for a month or so now but still in beta) and has a fancy user interface now too.

There is a MGW user support thread here for more help>>>> https://nxtforum.org/nxtservices-releases/multigateway-user-support-thread/

Beginners might want to use the MGW Lite >>>> https://nxtforum.org/nxtservices-releases/(beta-m08g5)-multigateway-gui-release/

If you use MGW, start with small amounts. Remeber these are *real* Nxt, BTC and LTC that you are trading, redeemable for the actual amounts of BTC and LTC. Have fun  Grin

Thank you for explaining! Already tried out the mgw on client, but it is too confused! Imo the surface should look like an exchange, then it would be a really success!

It is still in beta and the GUI is still being played with. Keep an eye on it  Grin Or post your thoughts in the thread above.

More and more people are able to use it so we are heading in the right direction  Grin MGW is an alien concept to most as you have, say a BTC wallet and a Nxt wallet, and MGW is just the go between. Everyone is used to centralised exchanges where Bter keep all your coins together in one account (they aren't actually in one account, this is just how it is presented).
