1361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nxt Coins stolen/ Hacked be warned on: October 06, 2014, 01:28:48 PM
... trust me.

This is what I have been trying to avoid all along  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy I have re-raked enough old ground and nothing new has turned up, I'll leave it there.
1362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nxt Coins stolen/ Hacked be warned on: October 06, 2014, 12:40:06 PM
no it was actually in the post written by someone else noit me... I will find it tonight

Don't worry, I found it. Apologies for doubting you, you are in control of the account.

That still doesn't explain what happened and posting your passphrase would allow us to eliminate that possibility. If you refuse to do this, I don't think it is fair to say things like:

Quote
1000usd flushed down the toilet from no fault of my own
It is the security of the coins ' brain wallet'  that I question.
I got hacked after being scammed
If you want to call me a liar by not posting MY pass phrase to cover up security issues with nxt then carry on please.

And especially:
Quote
The fact is I was hacked and no body has said there is a problem with the pass phrase

You might have been angry and frustrated but the reason for ^this^ is that nobody else knows the passphrase. Until we do, nobody can comment and it will remain a probable case of weak passphrase as that is the most probable cause.

You say that your password is random to "any normal person". Would it be random to someone translating different combinations of pinyin and English dictionaries into well known phrases/literature/ordinary sentence at 'x' million attempts a second?

I don't know any pinyin but for all I know, the sample password you posted "tim cum sim prawn gin yuk bim rarl per tip pop from" could translate to "I cum in prawn salad dressing d!ck is where I pop from"  Cheesy And you just change the subject "prawn salad dressing" for each use. A bad example but you get the idea. To re-cap, no full sentences in mixed languages used?
1363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ambiguous, unresolved issue in Nxt on: October 06, 2014, 11:41:55 AM
If you want me to track down the thread from the nxt forum I can which confirms I have ownership over the account

Please do. But doesn't the signature update all posts and not just the ones post the change? This may not be the proof you hope it is. Posting your passphrase would stop all speculation.

My offer of apology still stands.
1364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nxt Coins stolen/ Hacked be warned on: October 06, 2014, 10:52:04 AM
Please post your passphrase.

Have you done this? https://nxtforum.org/general/have-i-been-hacked/msg101195/#msg101195

This is circular and won't be resolved until you post your passphrase, one way or the other. I could pick any zero balance abandoned account with outgoing transactions and say that it was my money that was in there and I have been hacked. But without proving ownership first, why should anyone believe me?

Posting your passphrase means that I don't have to trust you, the facts speak for themselves.
1365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nxt Coins stolen/ Hacked be warned on: October 06, 2014, 10:39:44 AM
Have you posted your passphrase? The bits have seen you have shown to be quite evasive.

The constant barrage of Nxt FUD in this nest of vipers (good description btw  Grin) on BitcoinTrashTalk makes me wary. I'm tempted to take the hard line and point out that, AFAIK, you haven't proven beyond doubt that you actually have used this account yet... you can do this by posting the passphrase and showing you have access...

If you have done that, I will apologise for doubting you and Eadeqa, Brangdon, devphp et al can take it from there.

1366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin on: September 23, 2014, 12:13:39 PM
does NXT have any response to BITUSD? i think something like that would be nice for shorting NXT during decreases. also i really dont want to buy any bitsharesx ever

Also have a look at the assets issued by Shortnxt on nxtforum.org.

So long without seeing you Daedelus, my friend!

Where did you hide yourself lately?

I took a break  Grin I calculated that I had spent around 3.6 hours on the forums everyday for 236 days straight... I needed a break.

I won't be getting up to those hours again and I don't think Nxt needs it now. I don't think Nxt needs this thread or Bitcointalk anymore but wanted to make sure everyone knew about the above before the announcement, in case there were a few not on nxtforum yet.

Start researching Jinn, you have less than 7 hours to decide if you want to join.

That isn't the deal is it.

I edited my post above to be clearer, there has been no IPO/ICO so far. Nor is the countdown marking the end of opportunity to get involved with Jinn, it marks the start.

Perhaps ICO/IPO info will be in the announcement. Jinn has been in development and discussed since the 30th April so the info is there to be found.

Additionally, CfB first approached this this firm, www.integral.by/eng, to manufacture prototypes but last I heard he was looking for another electronics firm in China to do it.
1369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: September 23, 2014, 09:11:16 AM
If you are reading this then you have had the good sense to have done your own research to see through the near constant FUD Nxt has withstood for approaching a 1 whole year  Cheesy  So for that, you deserve a little heads up Grin

Start researching Jinn, you have less than 7 hours to wait until the announcement of the next steps. Research between now and then will help you decide if you want to join.

Come-from-Beyond's prediction:

The first egalitarian society will be formed in a virtual world powered with #Jinn. ETA - 7 years. Join and make the history...

Hint for Nxters: Jinn will allow something relating to forging and 1000tps that isn't currently possible.

Will this thing be able to do everything that ethereum does?

Already does what Ethereum suppose to do.

And Nxt has three implementations of Smart Contracts being developed that complement, in places overlap and take different approaches each other for use in different situations. The names are in bold, for future reference  Grin

Smart Contracts is being developed by Come-from-Beyond
https://nxtforum.org/smart-contracts/express-your-wish-(smart-contracts)/

Strict Agreements is being develeoped by our shy but prolific core dev kushti
https://nxtforum.org/automated-transactions/semi-automated-transactions/

Automated Transactions was developed by vbecas, btc2nxt and CIYAM. vbecas is now creating the testnet for testing at the start of September (see announcment from me upthread)
https://nxtforum.org/automated-transactions/information-of-the-at-project/

As I understand it, the idea is the simpler stuff is done on Smart Contracts/Strict Agreements and the complex, more resource intensive stuff is done on Automated Transactions.

Smart contracts (Come-from-Beyond's proect) will be written in a commonly known and well understood language known by thousands of devs already (think SQL), whereas Ethereum devs will have to learn a whole new language specific only to their contracts. It can be reasonably expected this will slow the initial uptake for Ethereum Smart Contracts, when they do get around to release.

I have found James is busy with BTCD.Why?

It forms part of NxtPrivacy (a part known as Teleport) : https://nxtforum.org/nxtventures/nxtprivacy-asset-that-includes-privacy-related-projects/

There is an unreleased draft paper circulating for comment that will be released soon that explains it. It is a partnership that will bring benefits to both, adn he also plans to clone and integrate Nxt's core into BTCD.
1372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: August 07, 2014, 06:37:55 PM
They said they would get on by 1st Aug and then by 8th August. You might have seen it in testing, it doesn't look like it is live yet. It isn't on the API page http://hitbtc-com.github.io/hitbtc-api/

If you are looking for Nxt/Fiat, try CCEDK.com. They have 9 fiat pairs with Nxt, including USD and Eur.

Can you describe what localization is? I have only seen it here. Is it the language packs?

NxtPrivacy is in development

1375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looking for details on PoS Rewards aka "interest" / coin source on: August 07, 2014, 01:38:00 PM
Actually the real reason for NxT being so controversial was its' initial distribution and complaints about the code quality back in early 2014.

Maybe the "developer" was just embarrassed by the code quality and didn't want the public ridicule :p

Nxt source was delivered in one file and did everything in 1400 lines IIRC. The aim was to bring in developers in to split the files, dig through the code and do the refactoring required and build a self sufficient community. There were three deliberately injected flaws in the source to reward bug hunters and along the way they did find many other bugs that has made Nxt as robust as it has been so far. There have been no major issues yet  Grin

Bug hunting thread is here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=397183.0
1376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TaunSew = paid posting acc paid by the <Joshua Zeidner- bluemeanie1> on: August 07, 2014, 01:25:54 PM
I disliked CfA when he first came on the scene but he does make me laugh  Cheesy Cheesy

I don't think you have anything CfA and I have suspected strong links between you and TS in the past. You used to refer to Taunsew as NEM's community leader when on your initial 100-post-a-day-megaspamming-FUD-campaigns  Cheesy

But it would be a nice surprise and entertaining if you do  Grin

I've got a marketing idea for NXT and was wondering
who I should present it to .. "EvilDave" or someone else ??
Point me to the "marketing dept" please ..

TIA ..

Triff ..

Hi Triff,

You don't need to get permission to market stuff if you want to, if you get enough interest from others to do it then you just get on with it  Grin

Nxt has a Promotions forum on nxtforum.org, you can start a thread in there, post the link around so people know about it and go from there.

The promotions forum is: https://nxtforum.org/nxt-promotion/
